Of course, it seems natural to use a warship name, but you can literally name it ANYTHING (as long as it's not a crappy name) so...Why not something to do with Japan-England relations? To stem this train of thought, the names of the ambassadors between them: His Excellency Mr Yoshiji Nogami, and Mr Graham Fry.

Well that's sorted then. Valient it is. Why where the names changed? What happened to the one Thomas liked? So confusing.

The name of any ship that was captained by Lord Nelson is fine by me.

Boreas
Agamemnon
Captain
Foudroyant
Victory

I like Victory. You guys know that the kanjis on the Imperial flag say "Certain Victory", right? :)

Also, later, you can re-enact the death of Lord Nelson. Just let the bridge get hit by enemy point-defense fire. We haven't had a martyr figure for a while now. :D ... What?

Note the other thread, Wes didn't like it.

Well I voted for Imperial, but Valiant and Dreadnought are good too.

What happaned about the whole ship class question?

Yeah, seriously, it doesn't have to be a cut-and-paste warship name, and the Star Army is all japanese-like anyway.
How about something relating to the fact that they're both island countries? YSS Dejima (click here) or some such?

Actually, just because the majority of SARP is japanese-themed doesn't mean there aren't other people around... hell, more than half of the characters used are american anime style, meaning caucasian with anime hair :P

It's interesting that JPs were once considered such a big deal that we were trying to start a European-timezone plot so that those players wouldn't miss out on the action.

Honestly, I do kind of wish Star Army has 24/7 coverage where the staff had shifts and there would always be a person there to help with RPs and giving info to new players.
