RP [Case 1] Regarding Homeland Security

"What do you think I'm doing here?" Araiah asked back, planting hands on her hips. She shifted her gaze behind the glasses between Ladydick and the SAINT agents. With a 'hmph' noise, she cocked her hip to one side and held out a weighing hand, explaining, "I'm trying to get some work done despite the efforts of my superiors who seem determined to deem our last case as a failure. To the point of keeping me from leading my squad and putting it in the hands of--"

Ariah swept both hands over to Ladydick, who was looking genuinely disappointed already, "Some kinda' film-noir celebrity."

Ladydick sighed and responded in as nice of a tone as he could muster for his fellow lieutenant. "Listen, Araiah, I won't tell anyone you were here, but you gotta go."

As soon as Trudy opened the door, the worst smell poured into her nose. The warehouse was already smelly, thick with the scent of blood and death, but the back of the van had a different smell. Decomposition. The beam of the flashlight crossed over the body in due time, a cache of dead flesh that'd gone unnoticed by the original investigation team. The body in question had been stripped of its armor, and left to succumb to its wounds. Wounds it'd recieved, as a grim-looking Nepleslian man, on the day the van had been used to attack the mayor's entourage. Other than the corpse, there were a few grimy Fatboy rifles and a broken datapad littering the inside of the vehicle.

"Come on Buck," Andrea said, looking at the manly detective. She folded her arms on her chest defiantly, while she frowned at he ex-lover. "You may run the show for now, but Araiah is our boss. It is better if she is here so she knows what this all is about. It is not like we have to tell anyone."

Warehouse

Makoto frowned. "I think the issue lies with there being a suspended officer in a crime scene unannounced.." she paused. "How did you get here before us?" the SAINT operative asked Ariah.

Ariah issued an upturned palm towards Makoto and adjusted her glasses while cocking her hip to one side.

"It's pretty easy when you don't have to wait for orders or instructions. I just monitor the feeds and look for something that could be a lead on my case, then I go. And here I am." She said easily, if a bit boredly. She fixed Makoto with a stare. "You're right though, as unfortunately is," She jabbed a thumb to Buck, who
smirked back, "This guy."

"I'm only going to cause trouble by being here at this point." She said with a sad shrug, shaking her head and her mass of blue hair. She fixed her next stare on Andy and said, "Get me some good clues, Carver. And put Sashi in front of anything you can't put your finger on. And for the sake of the stars, please catalog that very important van."

She indicated with a pointing finger the white van that Trudy and Sera had stumbled over. The same van that'd been used in an attempt to kidnap or assassinate the mayor three weeks before-hand.

Araiah tilted her head to one side and shrugged again, "Or just ruin your career even more and screw up the case for all of us. Either way, I'll see you at work on Monday. Ja ne."

And then she left.

"You got it boss. We will do honest police work and let the devil work it out in the end," Andrea simply said to Araiah and smiled. The nepleslian liked the lieutenant, they had a moment of truth together in the shootout three weeks ago. They were in rear vehicle and were hit bad from two allies. Lot of shooting, lots of bodies. It was as if Kyoto changed into Funky City for a bit. Still at least Andrea did not have to do fisticuffs on top of flying limousine like Sashi did.

"I hope you don't have problem with all that Bucky, that sounded like pretty good orders to me." Andrea smiled at the other lieutenant in the room, after Araiah left. "So Sashi, the van, the style of murders. What do you think about all that? Think it was only made to look like local yakuza or that it was really done by local yakuza?"

Makoto raised an eyebrow as all of this took place. She made mental notes to keep an eye on Lieutenant Araiah. She was not sure why she had been relieved of duties, but there had to have been a good reason for it. She was not sure if she liked a suspended officer just showing up at crime scenes.

She did though walk towards the indicated van, scanning it with her portable science scanner to see if anything interesting registered before she considered opening it to take a look inside. Good advice was good advice and if that was the same van as indicated then there could be a wealth of evidence inside pointing them closer to the criminals they sought.
