Aaki's Office

"Thank you for taking the time to meet with me while you did," Aaki said, resigned to letting him go. "I'll see you when I see you next. Mahsa will set up a meeting, if need be."

Aaki's Office

Mahsa stands and smiles to Zamir. "I will walk you out if that's okay?" She motions towards the elevator. "We can discuss times for the next meeting as we walk."

Aaki's Office

Aaki stood and watched Zamir go with a soft smile. She would likely be seeing very little of him in the coming times. Their positions were just too similar for them to inhabit the same sphere of influence without getting in one another's way. Despite that, she did look forward to seeing the way he shaped Kyope and the Iromakuanhe way of life on this new world.

"My next guest is going to be here soon, Mahsa Karim. You will get a chance to compare schedules with Zamir Tabet through OGNEIR." Aaki said once Zamir Tabet was all the way out of the room, "What you think of him will have to wait, because first, I want to take a moment to prepare for our next guest. Iโ€”" she stopped herself, then after eyeing Mahsa, continued. "Mahsa, I have never met this sort of man before in my life and, to be quite frank, I am trepidatious. I want you to be my second voice during this meeting. If I look to you, give your opinions on the matter. Understood?"

Aaki's Office

At hearing Aaki's words, Mahsa stayed back and let Zamir leave on his own. It would have to take some getting used to, normally she would see her clients out to the door personally, but her job as an assistant would have to take priority over that. This faster pacing would take some adjustments. However the end of Aaki's statement gave Mahsa a bit of worry.

"You have not met someone like him before? Madam Loleth, just what sort of person is our next guest?"

Aaki's Office

"Nepleslian," is all Aaki said. "He is Nepleslian. I have only ever heard stories from the International Relations Conferences and some covert operations into their territories. We'll have to wait and see, won't we, Mahsa?"

She placed her hands on the table and puckered her lips, waiting and watching the elevator.

Aaki's Office

Mahsa paused at the response, more than a little surprised by it. "A...Nepleslian?" She looked herself over quickly, her outfit didn't show much skin, but it still was rather tight, but that made sense with her background. "I've heard other races don't quite understand things like Dream Consorts very well." She looked nervous, but she made sure not to panic.

Aaki's Office

The elevator chimed, and the first person to step out of the elevator was a rather tall Nepleslian man dressed in a fine black suit. "Dreamer's greetings, I believe you say." The man said walking up. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am Hugh Graves, official ambassador from the Democratic Imperium of Nepleslia. But please, call me Huey." He said with a charming smile, and approached Aaki. "I am quite sorry for being late, however my bodyguard needed to ensure everything was ready for our arrival."

A man in NSMC Dress Uniform stepped out next, his rank sleeves denoting the rank of an E4 sergeant. "It is my fault Ma'am, just needed to make sure things were squared away." The marine replied. "I am Sgt. Alistair Thorn of the Nepleslian Space Marine Corps."

Huey nodded to his body guard, who stepped back and scanned the room with his cybernetic eye. "It is a pleasure to meet you both."

Aaki's Office

When the two Nepleslian men stepped into the office, Mahsa was a bit taken back by their appearance. She knew that Nepleslians were on average rather large, but these men were bigger than expected, tall, broad shouldered, and plenty of muscle. In fact, the body guard looked like a single embrace from him could break her in two.

She shook such thoughts from her head and then smiled to the two guest, giving a slight bow. She was going to leave the greeting to Aaki for now however, feeling it might be rude to speak first.

Aaki's Office

"Dreamer's greetings to you, as well. Please, Huey," Aaki said. "Make yourself comfortable." She raised a hand to signal the open chair. "Alistair Thorn, I hope you are happy to stand. It is quite nice to have a city so capable of international affairs such as these, is it not? Tell me of your cities on Nepleslia, Huey. Also, let me know what you seek to gain from a mutual trust between the two of us, if you feel obliged to."

Aaki's Office

Huey smiled and nodded and took his seat while Alistair nodded and gave a curt smile. "You will come to learn Ma'am, that Marines can get comfortable in about any position." He said looking to the assistant and giving a smaller smile and a nod in her direction.

Huey smiled and nodded to Aaki. "Our cities are vast. Our homeworld of Nepleslia has cities that span entire continents. It is quite a beautiful site to see from orbit. To see all that Nepleslia has constructed in her time, and all that she has accomplished." Huey added. "As for what we seek between our nations? We want to foster good will and hopefully promote growth and prosperity between our people. Maybe even to begin a dialogue for closer relations between our two peoples." Huey said looking to Aaki with a calm smile. "What would the Commonwealth like out of these talks Ms. Aaki?" Huey asked.

Aaki's Office

"I see us exploiting one another's strengths, not weaknesses. I see each of us using our own powers to help stabilize the nation of the other. I see a lot of things coming of these talks, Huey. But most of all, I see us forging new paths that were previously shrouded in foliage and undergrowth. Things we did not know were possible will become possible through us, the vassals of our respective nations."

Aaki smiled at Mahsa and spoke to her assistant, asking, "What do you think? What do you hope our nations will make happen with one another?"

Aaki's Office

Mahsa was a caught a little off guard by the question, Aaki did say she would ask her for her input, but she did not expect such a meaningful question to be the first one. "Well...I don't know all the fancy political stuff, but as a citizen, I hope that we can grow to understand each other more deeply and have a strong cultural exchange. I think if we can understand and appreciate each other's culture, everything else will come in turn." The former consort smiled softly after her reply, a little nervous that she might've sounded naive.

Aaki's Office

"I couldn't agree more with you and I see a great exchange happening amongst us. What of Nepleslian culture do you wish for us to gain an understanding of, Huey?"

Aaki's question was succinct, but it was one she had waited a long time to ask. She didn't know what parts of his culture she knew would fit in with hers, but she was willing and ready to ask and was open to the answer that would follow.

Aaki's Office

Huey smiled broadly at the two Iroma women. "Nepleslia is a very diverse place, Ms. Aaki, and many different walks of life. We have people like the Jiyuuians, Kuzenyetski, and many others that make up Nepleslia." He explained.

"Each one brings their own cultures and customs which just adds our own." He added looking between the women.

Alistair remained quiet in the corner while politicians talked. In his cybernetic eye, he scrolled through reports and scanned lines of code for his systems as the officials did their thing.

Aaki's Office

Mahsa was surprised by Huey's answer to the question, did Nepleslia really have a bunch of different cultures working together already? She didn't think it impossible, but everything she learned growing up taught her that it was difficult to maintain one's culture when interacting with other species, and that's why the Commonwealth was so closed off. At least that was what she was told, but now she was beginning to wonder if that really was the case.

She decided not to speak up at this moment though and instead move over to a table. She had forgotten since she had not actually been here to prepare it herself, but someone had readied it. She Soon came back over to the conversation with a tray of mugs and a pot of coffee. She placed it down on the table for them in case they wanted it.

Aaki's Office

Accepting the coffee politely with a nod of her head, Aaki smiled at Mahsa before she drained her cup of half of its contents.

"Now, to brass tacks as they are called in Trade. The Iromakuanhe have several serious threats on their doorstep. The New Veyrin Republic, a splinter group of Iromakuanhe rebels that wish to live outside of the Commonwealth, are wreaking havoc in our space. The only thing stopping them are a few select wings of the Astral Vanguard." Aaki hoped Huey had done his research and knew about their military and wondered how much he had heard about the NVR. She didn't have the time to find out. She needed his opinion.

"How would you deal with such a force?" Aaki asked, putting the coffee mug up to her lips after she had.

Aaki's Office

Before Huey could respond, Alistair cleared his throat. "I have read up on your enemies Ms. Aaki." Alistair reported, pulling up the files in his HUD. "Nepleslia had a similar situation when we fought the 'Reds.'" Alistair said walking up behind Huey, who was surprised that the body guard was speaking to the diplomats, but didn't stop him.

"In your people's' place, the best option would be to find their leaders and cut off the head of the snake. With them out of the way, the rebels should start to splinter and crack. Thus leaving them vulnerable to an all out assault by your forces." Alistair added as he grabbed a cup of coffee. He looked over to Mahsa. "Thank Ma'am for the coffee, better than the stuff we have in the Corp." He joked.

Aaski's Office

The Iromakuanhe politician's eyebrows went together for a moment before her face relaxed and she was again unreadable. She closed her eyes and tilted her head for a moment, deep in thought, before looking back up with her bright blue eyes.

She then told Huey and Alistair, "I have a good deal to chew on, my colleagues. Alistair, I thank you for your interjection. Huey, you have a great ideal about you. I look forward to both of you convening upon this room tomorrow, if you are at all available. There will be a Freespacer here that I would like all of us to get to know. Miss Karim, please see these gentlemen out for today."
