RP: SNV Gam'trosha [Chapter 4.2] - Hells Abyss

Soon the Gam'trosha would enter a cave, a cave that was twice the size of the Gam'trosha; after a bit of time the ship slowed to a crawl and then placed atop three pylons that positioned it just fifteen feet above the ground. At this point, the graviton beams that had been locked onto the ship since it entered the system finally disengaged.

Inside, Sa'kira sighed and stratched the back of her head. "Where are we now..." she muttered and rose from her chair, walking over to the viewscreen that presently showed nothing but darkness.

Busy he was at the moment. He was aware that something was happening outside the ship but with not enough information to go off of, and with no orders given for him to gear up, he continued his work inside the core room. In PArticular he was part of waht was becoming a three man team to fix the door. Although to be honest they were more deconstructing it and the putting it back togeather after all the damage the door and the systems controlling it took during this event

Def'leor secured most of her station. There was no sense at the moment to have the flight control active. She sent a command to bring up the ship's running lights. They would provide some light that might provide some details about their surroundings. She transferred the output of her IDT to the main screen. Using the system to paint the exterior surroundings with each flash of the ship's lights.

Dar'tagnan meanwhile joined Kil'nda in the search for the crate of hazard gear. The hold was not quite a complete disaster area, but the chaos wreaked upon the ship made it a close second.

After some time of searching through the storage area, the crew would eventually locate the crate with the haz-mat suits in it; it was buried behind a couple other crates full of repair parts, spare weapon parts, and a crate that had a hole in it; chewed open by the creatures that the crew had to deal with earlier.

Dar'tagnan smiled at the site of the errant crate that they had been searching for. He activated his communicator. "Bridge, we have located the container with the haz-mat gear." This was a good thing, with these suits the repair crews could venture out and survey the damage to the Gam'trosha. Although Dar could not help but wonder what lay out there. Obviously whomever brought the ship down, wanted the vessel intact. But did that necessitate that they wanted the crew alive..

He set about moving the crate with the spare parts to the side where the technical personnel would be able to easily get what they needed from it.

The Crew also finally took the door apart. Kil'nda grabbed a rag and whipped fluids from his hand. He'd need to clean his fur later after this. Still there was a lot of work that needed to be done. He asked for Permission to help assess the outside damage to that Gamtrosha and make sure they were space worthy on that end as well

Engineering

With the door now removed, it was easier to better assess the damage that the door had received; however, as Kil'nda awaited a response to his request, other workers arrived and began to remove broken pieces of the door's primary mechanism, including a hydraulic pump that was feasibly older than the oldest member on the crew. After a minute of waiting, Kil'dna got a response back, except it was more of a request to assist the Lexicon with her search for hazmat suits in the main cargohold.

Cargohold

The spare-parts crate was quickly opened by a group of tech's, as they pulled out wrapped up parts and set them down to the side and began to catalogue them; this included parts for weaponry, vehicles.. and even parts for a Starfighter which made one technician raise an eye-brow and wonder why it was on their ship.

Bridge

Sa'kira watched the display as it updated with more information about the ships general surroundings; she ordered a member of the crew to catalogue *everything* that they were seeing, the images currently being shown spoke of them being in a bay just large enough for their ship to fit into.

Kil'nda red off his orders with a sigh. "I'll take that as the closest thing to a Yes I'm going to get. He left the repairs of the door to others including a few Youth Corps assinged to Engineering. If anything good came from this it might be that they get a lot of hands on experinace with what to do after a major crisis on the ship. He headed to assit the Lexicon as asked. Though by the time he got to the Cargohold they might have already found the suits.

"A'Fuereb Kil'nda reporting." He said to the Lexicon. "I'm here to assist in the recovery of Hazmat suits as well as possible assessments to exterior damages"

Cargohold

Rein'nic cocked his eyebrow as he pried open a crate of spare parts to find replacement components and weapon modules for Starfighters and other vehicles that the Gam'trosha did not have aboard. He shook his head and began cataloging the parts, if the damage to the ship was as bad as he feared they would most likely be jury rigging systems with anything they could in order to limp back to a repair station.

As the crew went about their business, a group of the U'renese entered the hold and began to mill about the place; a few jumped up onto a create near Rein'nic while another decided to make Kil'nda's shoulder a perch. The rest moved deeper into the hold; searching possibly for pray or just curious.

"Find anything?" a crew member asked, ignoring the U'renese and looking at the assortments of parts and other items that had been recovered thus far.

"Nothing useful." Rein'nic replied as he scratched one of the U'renese. "We supposedly have a lot of spare parts for the engines and the reactor if the manifest is to be believed but right now untill we know the full extent of the damage we won't know what to fix."

Kil'nda groaned as one of the U'renese's made a perch out of his shoulder. Hr shook his sholder a bit but the Bird seemed to want to stay on fornow . He approached the container that seemd to hold the hazmat suites. ""Have we gotten the gohead to head outside? We still need to assess exterior damage, as well as figure out what happened to the ship

Bridge

Def'leor opened a channel to the cargo hold. "Engineering personnel. You are cleared to commence survey of exterior. Infantry to provide a defensive posture. Hazmat gear to be worn by personnel outside of the ship, and standard hazardous protocol. Limit exposure and follow decontamination procedures when returning to the ship. So far we still have not been contacted by anyone. For all we know this could be an automated facility."

Cargo Hold

Dar'tagnan looked around. "Well, let's be quick about it. I will accompany the first team out. My physiology will protect me for a while."

After some time had passed, the suits had been removed from their crates by the crew; stored in their proper locations, and then handed out to the crew that would be going off-ship to explore this strange world. Two soldiers, after donning equipment, had engaged the cargoholds containment field before lowering the ramp; they then got their rifles ready and crept up to just behind the barrier and waited.

Bridge

Sa'kira had those crew that were still on the bridge working to make a map of the place they were in, it wasn't much though since 'something' was interfering with their sensors. "Bridge to Lexicon," Sa'kira spoke as she stood in front of a large holographic representation of what they had so far. "Sensors show that there is oxygen in the hanger - if that's what we are truly in - be mindful please and stay safe." She knew that 'safe' was a relative term.

Kil'nda began to suit up in one of the hamat suits. He needed to get outside and assess all damages and problems the ship may have picked up from their recent emergency. He began to gather gear he would need for scanning the ship, though as scanning the ship was the job of him and the others, and security would be up to the soldiers he would only have his sword, which they ere always reqired to carry. A quick look off to the said ad he could see where they kept the Sniper Rifles, his normal weapon he trained with the most. The doors opened and he would wait for the all clear signal before heading out, likely with others once they too gathered up their gear.

Once out He would begin to assess the damage. Opting to go look at where the core ejected it's self from if he was able t access such area

Rein'nic swept his ears back as he donned the helmet to the hazmat suit and locked it into place, pressurizing the suit before his spacewalk to survey the damage to the Gam'trosha, accompanied by a red Laibe that Rein'nic already detested for some reason and a My'leke that was apparently part of the security detail. He sighed as the party cautiously crossed the barrier and traversed onto the ship's hull which to Rein'nic looked like someone had taken a thermal lance to. The surface of the ship was littered with stress fractures as loose wires floated freely out of the metal fissures like an infected wound. Many of the armored plates were warped and bent out of shape with patches completely missing; it was anyone's guess at this point wether it was a ship or a derelict piece of space junk from a large battle. Rein'nic shuddered to think that this was all that was was separating him from the cold vacuum of space.

"Survey team to bridge, the hull looks like it was on the business end of a large laser. Parts of the armor have deep gashes cut into it, it's hard to tell if we were hit at one time or if it's just a bunch of stress fractures. I pray to Chi'lerious that you've got insurance on this boat, you're going to need it." He chuckled in a vain attempt to lighten the mood. "Anyway, I'm no professional and I'm more adept at blowing stuff up rather than putting it back together but assuming that we plug the reactor core back in I think we can limp back to a friendly port if we patch some of the larger chunks in the armor."

Def'leor looked out at the scene outside of the ship. "Ma'am, I am seeing what appears to be some vessels of Neshaten origin. Although these would only be something you would see in a museum. Also appears to be a couple of ships of unknown origin. Might be useful to see what shape those Neshaten ships are in. We might be able to salvage some of the parts needed to restore the ship's main power. " She sent in reply to Sa'kira.

Dar'tagnan stood sentry duty while Kil'nda started surveying the ship. He listened to the others over his communications link, while watching their surroundings. "Rein'nic, that would be a good plan. But who knows where the core is. It was ejected when the ship was out of control it could be just about anywhere. We'll probably have to send out a shuttle or two to try to find it once we get the Gam'trosha patched up enough that she won't break up in flight. "

Kil'nda shook his head. looking over more of the damage. In truth given what they just went though this ship could be in way worse shape. But that didn't mean everything was all green in this senario either. "Got to Agree with Rein'nic. The inside of the ship might work but the extiro is in pretty riugh shape. Given how many times we have to go back in for repares I'm starting to think e've been cursed." He continued to move about the exteriot of the ship.

As he suspected there was dapage all around where they ejected the core. Warpped mettle damaged systems. He and the others would defitnyly be busy reparing these areas. The good news was that with the newly found Old Tech They might not be at a total loss for getting the Ship patched up. "So then, Any word on what planet we landed on?" He asked The question was not without merit. On the off chance this was a registered or better yet colinized world help and repairs may come swiftly. If not... Well they might be here a while till they find the cor and repair the hull.

"Ahh.. Great... " The Liba said on a newest descoverly. "Alright It seems we have some holes in the hull as well.. nothing that reaches all the way inside thankfully But it's deep enough I'm seeing some wires and other things we don't want out and exposed."

Sa'kira listened in the conversation between the teams working on the ship, and those on the outside, in one way she was glad that her rank allowed her to do this - but in another.... "Check that," she said to one of the bridge personnel, they already knew that the planet was at least somewhat in the database but they didn't really have time to do a full scan.

"Got it ma'am," a display appeared on the holo-tank, although the planet being displayed was clearly not what they were on.

"You sure this is right?" Sa'kira asked, leaning on the tank as she examined the image.

"It is ma'am, although the surface is different, I am picking up something on the surface that is idenfiying it.."

"Curious..." Sa'kira pushed off the tank and glanced at the more detailed readouts, she then started to tap her lower chin in thought. "Send the information to the teams please, at the very least it'll be something to work off."

The crewmen nodded, and sent the following information:

Code:
:Last Known Entry:
Name: Xixia
Classification: Colonized
Affiliation: Neshaten Federation
Population: 280 Million
Status: Unknown, survey required by Federation Science Team.

While he was surveying the damage a message appeared in his visor alerting him to the update that had just been sent.

"This world has over 280 Million living here?... Well if this is correct then maybe repairs won' be as bad as we first thought if we can contact the locals.. and hey looks like the Exploration team can update the status of the planet so I guess everyone has something to do on this place."

He said as he began to move to a new area of the ship, making scans and reporting any more damages that must be taken cared of before they could think about lifting off
