Art Commissions Showcase

Over the years, many artists have created artwork for the Star Army universe. With all the art being scattered around our wiki, sometimes it's hard to get a sense of just how many artworks we've got, and we may have missed many new artworks simply because they were for characters not in the same plots as us. So I'm making this thread where I plan to post them all. You guys are welcome to discuss them as they appear.

I'm going to start with all the Star Army art I've collected on DeviantArt, and I plan to regularly post updates here.

Kuru 2012 Ink
ANd another character portrait of one of my old NPCs. Like Aya, Kuru Innen still exists within the setting but she is a background NPC. I felt the urge to draw these characters because I miss them. ae.deviantart.net_emoticons_s_smile.gif Colors some time this week.

Aya 2012 Ink
Just a character portrait of one of my old NPCs, Aya Mitsurui. She still exists in the roleplay setting but she is still very much a background NPC. I'm in the process of coloring this and the lineart of Kuru right now.

UCS Akaramu Patch
For another one of my friends on the Star Army.com roleplay forum. It's a ship patch for his "plot ship", the Akaramu. I based the patch on the motto of "From Roses to Stars", by creating a star shape out of rose petals.

One of my other friends told me it reminded them of a lotus flower. o.o

UCS Tanebi Patch
Tanebi in Japanese kanji can mean, "spark" or "ember". The ship's captain's first name also happens to be "Ember". Design wise, I just went for a swirly sea of sparks that could also possibly be stars without using a star brush.

This is a ship patch for a United Outer Colonies non-player character ship in the background of the roleplay to fill out the setting of the faction a little more. If you wanna learn more check out Star Army.com

UCS Zenpyou Ship Patch
A little background on this design: The kanji for Zenpyou in the background of this image can mean: "omen; portent; sign; premonition; or harbringer".

So I tried to think of a good symbol for what I associate with the word "omen". The first thing that came to mind was of course, "crow". Crows are usually seen as a death omen, so they are usually bad luck.

I figured that this symbolism for a space ship tasked with hunting down and fighting pirates was fairly fitting.
