RP: NSS Alliance Dignitaries and Diplomacy

"Guh!" Fian vel Steyr nearly vomited, his stomach spasms jerked him upright from the bed. The vague memory of the events yesterday and the uncertainty of his present state made his head swim. What the, who the, where the, how th-... #$&@($%&# *Facepalm* .

Karl Vel Styer watched his elder brother sit upright. Fian had been making so many funny noises for the past few minutes that it might have sounded like he was gonna die. Karl rolled his eyes at the anticlimax and rummaged through his pockets, fishing out a packet of tablets that was previously on Fian. "To make things clearer: Take this tablet, and a giant robot brought you back here yesterday night." He said, handing his brother a pill and a glass of water.

Fian took the medicine without complaining. He laid back on the bed with an arm over his forehead, blocking the glaring morning light from the window. F***ing sun.

"I see that you settled in fast on your new assigment." Karl said, crossing his arms. He remembered there was only once Fian had stumbled back like this, in which he promised Karl never to do again.

Fian nodded his head. The elder Vel Steyr could read what his younger brother was thinking. Yep, and I feel so bad that I wanna take whatever that you are going to say next lying down.

"And thats good!" Karl exclaimed, uncrossing his arms.

"?" Fian was in no mood to think of what this meant. He was just about to ignore whatever grouses Karl would have raised about his present condition.

"You are always so reserved towards other people except our family. Its good to see that you have made some friends on board!" Karl said. "I cant look after you all the time now that I'm swamped with work, you know."

A weak smile crossed Fian's lips at his brother's sarcasm. "Bastard. Leave me alone." Were his first (mumbled) words of the day as he Turned over and pulled the blankets, leaving Karl the company of his back. "Let me sleep for half an hour more..."

"Captain, new recruits have arrived and are being escorted by Lieutenant Endurain to your office," Ally's voice spoke from above. "Shall I inspect them for you?"

Miller gritted his teeth.

"What am I, a babysitter," He snapped. "Have the Lieutenant give the recruits a tour of the ship. Tell him to help them find their rooms and unpack so that they can be briefed of our situation at noon in the cafeteria. And where is Lieutenant Wazu? If he's on ship, have him escort our guest diplomat."

With an irritated huff, the Captain resumed multi-tasking at his console. So many things to do, so little time.

~~~
Jet would soon find Ally intercepting him and the line of people he was dragging behind him.
"The Captain wishes for you to handle orientation procedures yourself, as he is quite busy," the beautiful woman said cheerfully, with a slight nod to the newcomers. "Welcome aboard the NSS Alliance. I am Ally, the embodiment of the ship's artificial intelligence. Please use the next few hours to get accustomed to the ship. At noon, we will be having a crew meeting in the cafeteria. Military dress is required."
The woman mentioned nothing of rank, but the silver and black bar on her green uniform's shoulder discreetly revealed her rather commanding position on the ship.
With one final nod, she turned and left, her heels clacking on the metallic floor. She walked with a sexy sashay that utilized her assets to their fullest.
Moments later, she vanished around a corner.
Soreta growled slightly at the artificial woman; it was quite clear that this 'Ally' was a sexualized piece of trash meant to give the Nepleslian grunts some eyecandy...and perhaps give the captain someone to hold in the long nights (something that she would begrudge him).
Yamatai had its own eyecandy AIs, of course, but she didn't like them either. Soreta, just from the expressions on her face, looked like the kind of woman who hated just about everything.
The bodyguards looked to Soreta, who simply sighed. "They know I'm here. They'll send for someone, and if not, we'll have a talk with the captain. We stay here for now."
Ally would come back around the corner in short order, leading a man in a full military dress up to Soreta before disappearing again. The discomfort he was showing upon seeing Soreta was something that you didn't need to be a telepath to feel. The two soldiers beside her saluted and upon returning the salute he said in a commanding voice, "DIS-MISED!â€
Jet blinked, noticing Ally's appearance as she gave her message. "Ah alright, yeah not big deal Ally, thanks." He said and gestured to the small group that was following him around. "You guys come on, I'll show ya around like muscles wants." he said and started off in another direction, leading them toward the medical bay first so they know where to go. "It still needs the finishing, if you got questions about, ask about it now." the white-haired lieutentant said briskly.
The medical bay was nothing special but it was well stocked and almsot ready for operation with it's shiny new metal beds gleaming in the light. Most of it was the standard metallic grey color everyone knew, except the padding on the seats were a standard black. With Valo out, there was no medical crew there at the moment. However, engineers milled about the area, bolting in regeneration tanks and other important medical devices as well as other things.
Despite the fact that he seemed uncomfortable with her presence, Soreta was calmed by the presence of Wazu; he seemed to be competent.
"You will call me Soreta. I would like to be shown to my room, first; and I would also like you to inform Ally that I do not want to be watched by her." Slightly unpleasant, but she didn't seem to coat her words with venom with Wazu like she did for the others. "The bodyguards will follow me and take my bags to my room; I have a few things in there I need to unpack."
"You are not here as a soldier in this military and you will not be treated like one. As far as I am concerned you are unranked so you will be treated like any civilian on this ship. Ally will watch you for the safety of this crew and you will be carrying your own bags. If I feel for any moment that you are endangering this ship I will not hesitate to carry out the maximum penalty for such an offence.â€
"Leaving so soon?" Karl asked as his older brother walked to the door. He had just come back with a cup of coffee and a handfull of reports to pour over while they talked.
"Melchoir is busy, you are busy, I am busy, we are all busy." Fian said, putting on his usual green jacket. "I was just told that all the marines are getting recalled back to ship. Would like to stay longer really, but I dont think I have much to tell you since I was here just two darn days ago. Crazy Nerimian FTL technology."
"Ah." Karl took a sip from his mug. "Just dont get youself killed, as usual."
Fian checked his pockets, he tended to drop things when he sat or lied down for extended periods of time, even so when drunk. His Savtech AI Computer was still here, Elsae(The AI) had only earlier relayed the recall order to him. Wallet, ID and Service Pistol check. Then Fian's fingers chanced upon something unusual. He pulled it out of his pocket and laid it down on a nearby mantlepiece.
Karl raised an eyebrow. "A lemon flavoured lolipop? I thought you were too wasted to care. "
Fian laid one hand on the doorknob. "Dont worry, I'm surprised too. Dont tell her I came back, just slip it into her bag quietly or something."
"Elsa probably thinks you are some kind of wizzard." Karl grinned.
"The girl is only 6, Karl. Stop ruining her childhood." Fian waved just once as he left the room. Karl was in the middle of another swig and responded by shaking his documents in which he held slightly below eye level. "Laters, Fian."
"I can carry my bags just fine; thank you, lieutenant, for dismissing bodyguards who are supposed to be with me at all times. You have just overstepped your bounds. ...no matter." Looking at the bags dropped upon the ground, Soreta endeavored to pick them up all at once - somewhat surpried when she found she couldn't. Instead, she gave one of the heavier bags to Wazu, and opened up another - what was apparantly a number of weapons within: A Ketsurui Type 28 SMG, a linear rifle of unfamilliar design, and a traditional daishō set; along with a belt to holster the weapons on. She promptly did so, fishing a Type 29 out of her pocket and holstering that as well.
"As you can see, lieutenant, I am perfectly capable of defending myself, even without my guards. And before you ask, yes, I can use those swords, and quite effectively, too." It almost sounded like a threat - almost.
Benji eyed the AI when she appeared and listened to what she had to say and made note of when and where they were to be meeting and also that they were to be dressed in uniform. He snorted softly and then followed after Jet. Upon seeing the new Medic Bay Benji lightened up a bit, at least they would have some kind of aid if this little trip turned out to be more exciting.
Waiting patiently Benji shifted his pack to it rested over both of his shoulders and rocked back on the heels of his boots, his eyes scanning his orders again. He felt into the pocket of his coat and then found what he was searching for and popped a piece of gum into his mouth and silently gnawed on it, making sure he knew where they were going.
Kokuten eyes clacked as they were shown the unfinished Medical Bay. He looked at what would be where he would spend most of his after-battle time. Though the fact that it was 'unfinished' bothered him, if he had understood correctly, the ship had recently finished a strain of sorties.
"So, this ship was sent out unfinished on it's last mission?" Kokuten asked the Lieutenant leading them.
Jet looked at Kokuten as he lead them toward the recreation areas. "Well they apparently had to rush to get it combat ready but to be honest i'm not really sure." He said
He was already walking away from her and after getting a few steps away Wazu turned to the side and looked directly at her. He was not there to pick up the bag which she was trying to hand him nor did he make any motion to. He stood still while Soreta worked with her weapon holster. He timed his response to fall right after she said the word Lieutenant, and in a stern voice common to senior officers.
"Please try and keep up. I would like to finish my assignment without delay.â€
Valo walked into the unfinished medical bay shortly after the new doctor arrived. Afterwards it immediatly went about the task of checking for any possible mistakes in construction.
Hunger Strike
Chris pushed his way past the marines who didn't follow Jet on the guided tour, and headed down to his room. He did overhear something about a med bay, and was interested to check it out, but since everyone went that way he decided to go the opposite.
I'll just spiff myself up a bit then head to the cafeteria. Everyone probably forgot breakfast to get here so I expect they'll all be wanting lunch.
His stomach growled, reminding him he completely forgot about breakfast too.
Plus I'll make a little something for myself.
Soreta seemed to be keeping up just fine; though the look on her face was one of annoyance and discomfort, and not from the lieutenant. Though the room looked somewhat barren, she didn't expect the comfort of KFY vessels; it would do just fine.
"Thank you, lieutenant," Soreta said...not honestly, though, because she had nothing to thank the lieutenant for. She stepped into the room and placed her bags on the floor.
"I will be escorting you for the duration of the captain's orders. I suggest you avoid the mess hall and the crew quarters during your stay. I forget the specifics of you body type but you can pick up a large role of condoms from the medbay if you can't shut of your pregnancy feature. As far as a tour of the ship goes, this is your room, down that hallway is the mess hall and I can show you where the medbay is. This is a military ship, and if you are seen in any area of the ship you will be considered a spy and shot on sight. If you need to speak with the captain make an appointment with him through Ally.â€
Soreta went red. She didn't know if he was being courteous, ignorant, or simply purposefully trying to piss her off, but she didn't care. She immediately took one step towards the lieutenant and backhanded him across the face.
"I don't care what you'll do to me for that, but you do not imply that I am a slut, no matter what! Do you hear me?"
Wazu continued to type and finally send his message while the new diplomat responded to his earlier statements. The message contained a simple request for him to speak with the captain when the time was appropriate.
"I will exchange the word Geshrin for slut when I imply things in the future,â€
"Not every PNUgen model is so inclined...you're assigning me the crimes of another species, all for your own inefficiencies," Soreta replied with a venomous tone. "Or would you rather I exchange the words 'disease-ridden incompetent horndog' with 'Nepleslian'? Believe me when I say this...I don't intend to fuck anyone on board this ship."
