RP: The Wayward Distant Memories (Ep. 2.0)

Jun Nan marveled the whole walk through the Anbruch. His neck was on a constant swivel. As he stepped onto the bridge Nan stopped and just looked around, a broad smile of wonder graced his face. He half stumbled half walked to the center of the bridge his Minkan braking attempting to memorize every detail.

Nan turned toward Tanja as she spoke, "Hi, sorry, this is my first time on such a big ship and that I'm not a passenger is even more awesome.

So, I'm Jun Nan, you can call me Nan or Hive. This ship...this ship is awesome. I really hope we can work something else. I could really make this ship sing and between you and me, it deserves to."

Cabin B-2

"Well if you want, We can chat and you can learn more about us?" Embel smiled at the man "We can do other stuff as well if you want to Sir, I am use to a lot of different things." She let out a giggle and looked at the man happily as she looked at his equipment.

Hugar watched his console and watched the android complete his task. He couldn't help but chuckle to himself before looking towards the new person, and Tanja. He stood up nodding towards him. "I am Hugar, Navigations and the local biologist." He then looked back at the console and sat back down.

Nan looked over at Hugar with his big smile, "Man, your gigantic! Pop's to meet you Hugar. Name's Nan. Look forward to working with you."

Cabin B-2

"Well what has brought you to space young one? I do not see many of your kind about often." Rulloo pulled out a tool kit and opened it to check and make sure he had everything he needed as he spoke. "Did you come out here to try to make money?" The Qel'noran spoke almost like a father would when asking his child how they've been, even if his pronunciations were a little shaky it was rather relaxing.

Bridge

Tanja stood up and walked over to Nan to shake his hand, her grip was firm and her palms were those of one who had spent their life with hard work. "Oh there are much more impressive ships than this one, but they have an impressive price tag as well." chuckled softly and gave the young man a pat on the shoulder, despite looking roughly Nan's age, she had an air about her of someone over twice his age.

"Let's cut to the chase though. In honesty, we're in need of a computer specialist, we have no one running it at the moment. So I'd like you to work the systems on a trial run. However, we're going to be escorting a scientist to a possibly dangerous planet. Are you up for that?"

Bridge

Nan nodded his head to what Tanja was saying, "Captain, it would give me great pleasure to show you what I can do. Whatever you need of me, I'm on it."

Nan's giddyness was almost palpable. His smile showed he was ready for this challenge and this opportunity.

"If it's ok I will just do a quick download from the bridge here of the layout of the ship and I will get myself situated. Is that cool?"

Bridge -> Med Bay

Not being needed further Quinn slipped out of the bridge and made his way back to his little bit of domain on the ship. Once he was there he prepared what he'd need for the next little bit and then he picked up his communicator. "Embel?" He inquired. "Can you bring our guest down to the Medical Bay for a moment please? Thank you."

Bridge

Hugar took a moment to smirk at the idea that he was huge, he knew he was huge, but it always made him chuckle to hear someone call him huge. Hugar listened to what Nan was saying and smirked a bit. "Thats the spirit, we need confident people."

Bridge

"That is fine Nan. Get your self a cabin and then get to the computer room, get familiar with the OS and functions." Tanja typed on the captain's terminal a moment to bring up the map of the ship for Nan to down load. "Sorry things are a bit rushed, normally I'd give you a tour, but we're about to launch."

"Hugar, take us out of port, and head off."

Outskirts of Kikyo Sector - North East Quadrant

The Anbruch had been traveling for a few hours with all things running smoothly. They had dropped out of their FTL travel and could now see the planet Zath-Nianach on display screens. The orb gave a eerie vibe with it's red almost glow around it. Little was known of the planet other than there were signs of architecture and civilizations that once were. Based on the composition of the structures on planet the civilization had space travel, however whether it was FTL or not is unknown. Of course, this information was provided by Rulloo, there was nothing in the ship's database.

Tanja smirked at their safe arrival and sat up in her chair to speak. "Hugar, bring us down on the plan-" Before she could finish what she was saying, the captain was interrupted by the sound of the early warning systems going off.

A quick check at any bridge stations would reveal the situation, however other stations were left a bit more in the dark. The ship had according to sensors arrived just in front of a passing cluster of asteroids. While none of them were that large there were many and avoiding them would be difficult as the ship was not designed for tight turns.

The ship and it's crew battled with the rogue cluster but in the end it was just too much and one of the asteroids struck an engine causing them to loose thrust and begin to fall towards the planet. "All hands prepare for emergency landing!" Was all that the crew heard, they knew to strap into their harness belts to make sure they weren't thrown around. Hugar would have to struggle with the ship controls and make sure the ship stayed on course and would land somewhere safe, and Embel would have to update Hugar about the entry angle as well. Unfortunately they were not the only ones busy, Analiese had to operate her control station and make sure the damaged engine did not go critical during decent, and Nan was busy making sure that the ship had not suffered any yet unknown damage.

After several minutes however there was a loud crash and everyone was rocked in their seats as everything went still. After a moment of pause the captain let out a sigh of relief and sat back in her chair, pushing the intercom button "All hands, status report."

Engineering Room

Analiese had been doing what she could in her new 'home' of sorts, keeping things running smoothly. She was finding things to be fairly easy for her, which was good enough for her. So far, the only interaction she had with anyone else was with Quinn when he did her physical. She shook her head at that memory, but knew she had nothing to worry about as far as that was concerned.

When the ship went out of FTL, everything kept looking good to go. It was when the alarms went off that Ana had no idea what was going on. She could feel the ship reacting to something, but not what. Once the engine first started to go out, she had her work cut out for her to keep the engine from redlining too badly. She had braced herself for impact as best she could, but there was a lot of damage done to the engine and the crash caused more of it to move from where it should have been.

Analiese became pinned behind a part of the engine and the wall, though luckily the only damages she suffered were bruises and some minor cuts. Gasping for breath, she shakily reached up to activate her comm unit. "En-Engine...d-damaged...bad..."

Central Computer Core

The warning came with enough time for Nan to safely hover up off the floor to avoid any serious injury. He got battered by some flying debris but nothing substantial. He activated his built in wireless comm and replied to Tanja, "This is Nan, I'm ok and the computers are still up and running though im sensing some slight power fluctuations."

Nan listened and at Analiese's message he turned to his console hurriedly tapping out commands, "Spooling up the MARI and sending it to engineering. I will be right behind it to help you out sister." After giving the repair droid it's commands Nan quickly started en route to the engineering section.

Med Bay

Quinn would appear in the doorway of the medical bay just as Nan passed it, tenderly pulling a palm-sized triangle of shattered glass out of the meaty part of his biceps. "Shoulda worn my coat." He muttered to himself. The one time he hadn't been wearing his duster this entire trip and he ended up getting hurt. Great. He vanished back into the medical bay, slapping a quick bandage on his upper arm. It was only a flesh wound and could be stitched up later. He pulled his coat on, zipped and buttoned it up and then he snagged his med kit and followed hot on Nan's heels into Engineering.

"Couldn't wait to have some fun without me huh Ana?" He teased, attempting to lighten the mood as he walked into Engineering and found his way over to a spot close to where the woman was trapped. Carefully he eyed the huge piece of the engine that had shifted and then he glanced over at Nan. "Check underneath for spills or exposed wiring." Didn't need anything catching fire too. "Ana. Talk to me. How are you doing? Can you move all your bits and pieces? We're gonna get you out of there in just a minute." He kept his tone even and calm, hoping she wasn't too badly hurt.

Engineering

Nan looked around the machinery for any particular hazards. He turned to Quinn and said, "Sure thing Q, I will let you know. When MARI gets down here I can help her lift this piece if you let me know it's safe to do so."

Engineering

Ana groaned a little when she heard the others. "I'm fine...I think. Can't move too much yet, but nothing feels off that I can tell." Ana tried to look at Quinn, her hair falling in the way. "Am I gonna need another physical?" Her voice had a touch of dread to it at the question.

Engineering

Quinn couldn't help the snort of laughter at her question, coming up on his toes so he could see her. "You may have to lay down on the table for me, and I might have to give you a gentle hug and some stitches, but you're talking and moving so you're still good on that account." He murmured. He knew just how much she hadn't enjoyed that particular activity and honestly wasn't eager to repeat it himself. Quinn turned around to peek over for Nan's feet. "See anything worrying?" He asked. "Safe to move it soon as the MARI gets here." He carefully left 'I think' out of that particular sentence.

Hugar didn't panic, he remained calm and attempted to keep control of the ship and land it where he could. He kept his eyes peeled for any obstetrical that might present itself. Upon landing he stands up and checks on both Embel and Tanya. "Are you two okay?"

Bridge

The ship had touched down rather roughly in a jungle, there wasn't a clearing available so the ship made its own by knocking down some trees. Thankfully Hugar had managed to navigate to a less dense patch of trees so there wasn't as many to damage the ship. Tanja looked around at the bridge, she herself was fine, having strapped herself in before the crash. Hearing all the replies she paused a moment, there was one she didn't get so she connected to Quinn's personal communicator. "Quinn, report, what's your condition." Around this time she noticed that the MARI had be activated and heading to engineering, she hoped things weren't as bad as they looked, but she sent the Geboku to engineering as well, they could probably use the muscle.

"Hugar, get the landing gear up now that we've stopped, and we'll work on figuring out where on the planet we are."

Engineering

The MARI unit was quick to arrive on the scene, taking a moment to survey the situation. What had dislodged and trapped Ana was some heavy piping that lead to the damaged nacelle on the outside. The piping was for gases that were flowing through, it had ruptured and collapsed when the nacelle had been hit and caused an explosion in the system. The gas flow had been shut off, but there was still the hazard of another explosion if the engine had not properly shut down. The first thing the MARI did was approach and begin a scan to check the condition of pipe and then began cutting the segment.

The Geboku arrived before the MARI was finished with it's work and looked around. It then moved over to the second console and began to shut down the CDD systems entirely as well as the aether systems, leaving them with the electric fusion generators as back up power. "Primary power has been disconnected, intensive repairs will need to commence immediately." It was at this time that the MARI had finished cutting the pipe and it could now be removed from on Analiese.

Engineering

Ana coughed a little as she tried to breathe. "Hugs, good...stitches...not so much." She quieted down and had closed her eyes, waiting for the MARI to arrive. She was losing consciousness, though more due to lack of being able to breathe than anything else.

Once the MARI arrived and started on its work, Ana was unresponsive to anyone trying to get her attention. As soon as the piece of pipe was taken away, anyone that could get to her would tell she was breathing, her body taking a breath in reflexively, but her eyes would remain closed for a few moments longer.

Nan moved to a section of the pipe and grabbed whatever he could find to hold on to the pipe. He turned to the robots, "Geb, Mari let's get this thing off her."

Seeing the apparent loss of consciousness from Ana, Nan readjusted his grip out of worry that that it wasn't fast enough. "Don't worry sister, your going to be fine. Quinn will take good care of ya."

When the time came Nan used his somewhat enhanced strength to assist in lifting and moving or holding of the pipe.

"Quinn, report, what's your condition."

"Gah!" Quinn muttered to himself but he didn't reply. Not yet. When the pipe was eased off of Ana it gave him just enough room to reach in there and pull her sideways to him. He slid her free of her position and then carefully laid her out on the floor, checking her pulse and making sure she was breathing halfway decently. He didn't like it one bit but he worked his fingers from her neck, down her collar bone, down her ribs and across her abdomen. "Common. Talk to me. Can't fix you if I don't know where you hurt." Just so Tanja wouldn't get her panties in a twist he sucked in his own deep breath and sent a "LITTLE BUSY!" echoing through the ship.
