RP: Cirrus Station [Episode 3] Sunny Day on Prilisa Four

Deacon was only half paying attention to those around him. He was fine with Dream's rapid fire questions, but when the other male came over, the hyena closed his eyes and inhaled the new scent.

As Lorcan spoke to the odd green skin, Deacon quickly finished stuffing things in his pockets. Then came the realization that he wouldn't be wearing all those pockets anymore, and at the offer to have help in locating this suit and weapon he would be carrying, he nodded and pounced off his bed, and stalked, on all fours, over to the tube and keypad, sniffing it as well.

"Alright then, what numbers do I push?" He asked to no one in particular as he stood up onto two paws again.

Tweak slipped into the room and went up to her bunk while Deacon's back was turned, leaving her boots on the floor. Once up, she started writing in her book, trying to get everything down in case she didn't have time later. That, and her book wasn't going to fit in the suit, and she couldn't bring it for fear of it being destroyed.

She locked the cover and stowed it in her duffel, then went back to watching Deacon. He didn't look like he was temperamental...so she slowly got down from her bunk and waited until he was finished with the tubes so she could get her uniform.

Lorcan grinned as the Kohanian stalked off. He reached down and scooped Dream up so she could sit on his shoulder if she wanted to. Letting go of her, he turned and made his way back with the Kohanian, beckoning to Fitz and Himiko as he went so he could show the other two how to get their gear as well.

On the way over to help out he settled his helmet on his head and then spoke to Dream. "Alright, now I really think the armor on this suit is really dreary and I know how you're all colorful. I was wondering, since you seemed to have lots of paints with you, if you'd paint my armor for me..." He said, really wondering if she could make his armor stand out dramatically. Even if it was for naught and giggles. If they couldn't have P.A.s, not that he was particularly fond of them, then he figured why not ask for a paint job from the local artist to spice up the rather dreary 'Armadillo' Suit, as he'd nick named it himself.

Once he reached the Kohanian and the delivery system he showed Deacon how to work it and then explained how to put the armor on. "And I'll even help you pit it on if you'd like" Attempting to make this odd ball of the bunch his friend.

Quickly following Lorcan's instructions, Deacon pressed the buttons, and was soon awarded with his own CSS Suit, with its armor panels, and the weapon of choice for the security personel. At his offer to help suit up, the hyena quickly shook his head to decline.

"I will manage." He offered, walking off towards the male shower room. Once there he would disrobe as quickly as possible, slipping himself into the suit. It was a snug fit, like a second skin, which made Deacon feel a little better at having to wear it. Then, with deliberation, he would match up the armor to the correct dots. Once he was fully suited up, he would walk out, catching a glimpse of Tweak. Narrowing his eyes slightly, he would try to find her scent. Nothing seemed to match her though, and as he stalked towards the door of the barracks, he would keep trying to scent her....Something was different about this one.

With the big bundle of her suit under her arm, she returned to her bunk, passing by Cyril and giving him a small, almost conspiratorial smile, before she sat down and started to put it on. The bodysuit was becoming very familiar now, and she was finished quickly, the armor plates locked into position, her rifle stowed, her helmet sealed but left open.

Her shoulder ached a little as she settled into the armor, an odd kind of phantom pain. She rubbed it, working out the kinks.

Tweak had smells and scents from various things on her, and everything Deacon smelled could be matched up with something else but none of them seemed to be coming from her.

Tweak dropped down from her bunk when Deacon went into the restroom to change. She retrieved her suit and was headed out of the barracks to the corridor when Deacon came out of the men's room, so he just saw her back. In the corridor, she removed her boots and coat, slipping the suit on over her shorts and shirt as she had done before, then putting her boots back on and carrying the helmet and gun under her arm wrapped in her coat. The knit hat remained; she would be wearing it under her helmet when the time came.

Re-entering the barracks, Tweak tossed her jacket up to her bunk and attached the rifle to its magnet on her back. Then she noticed Deacon watching her. The Kohanian made her feel nervous, even moreso now since he didn't look very happy about whatever he saw in her. Tweak gave him a weak smile, then put her helmet on and closed the visor.

Dream, as usual, didn't object on riding on the ID-SOL's shoulders.

"Paint it? Uh, can be done, but isn't it like that for camouflage reasons?" She wondered.

At least, it was nice to know that underneath her quirky personality of hers she still had a great deal of common, practical sense.

And also, no one failed to notice that her objection wasn't about the existence of rules prohibiting vandalism on said suits.

She thought about it for a while. "Do you want to personalize it, or just to stand out? In the first case, I can try and work out some nice scheme that still wouldn't make you stand out like a black thing in a white place once the going gets though. In the latter case... how about an accessory? Like, a hat or a scarf?"

Fitz was near enough to hear about future events, "Mission?" he wondered with a raise of an eyebrow. Haven't even reached my room and they already plan on ejecting me out of the airlock, he bemused, he then answeared, "maybe i'll join you later my long haired friend!" then headed toward the armory to obtain his new costume to wear.

Cyril returned Kaz's smile small smile with a toothy grin. He was glad that he had managed to cheer her up. He had been halfway worried that he might have carried it too far, but he had managed to wrangle a genuine laugh from her. It was the first time he had heard that laugh from her, too. In a way, it reminded him of an old boyfriend he had had years and years ago. He had been a bit of a swishy bugger, but it had been his first serious relationship with someone and Cyril still remembered him fondly.

But this wasn't the time to reminisce about being a teenager. Deployment to the surface loomed like, well, the sun over open ground. Cyril punched his code into the pneumo and retreated his own suit. Thankfully, the lingering smell of the sewers had finally faded to the very edge of noticeablilty. For a few days there, you could have smelt him coming around the corner.

He was getting used to the CSS suit too. Really, it was more or less like the skinsuit he had used back home, just with some more armor plating and less endurance. Once he was down to his skivvies, it only took him a few seconds to get the undersuit on. The armor plates too a little longer, but he was getting the hang of them too. Really, it was all becoming rote repetition by this point. Give it a few months and he'd be doing it in his sleep.

Serra, for the most part, tried to ignore all the new members, since she was still also trying to bond with the existing team, though some of her antics related to the mechanics of the vending machines still irked Cyril. Though, as per orders, she rebuilt it back to the way it was complete with the card reader, so they were back to paying Cassifin for the food they ate.

Though, try as she did, she couldn't help but notice the Kohanian, who could blame her, since Deacon was a large bi-pedal Hyena.

Dusty watched as several people got there gear out of the delivery tubes. He took a quick glance at the bunks Mimi had indicated and decided to chose later once he got back.

He went over to the tubes and discovered fairly quickly how they work. He quickly sent his bag down into storage and then called up his armor and rifle. The large ID-SOL with weapon and armor in hand, then headed off to the shower rooms were he could change in peace.

Himiko was following Lorcan around... almost like a lost puppy. She didn't really know where anything was on the station, so the Yamataian was sticking to her new comrade like glue thus far. Resisting the urge to cling to his shoulder, the armorer quietly clasped her hands together behind her back, waiting for something to happen.

He really didn't care for shuttles. Crowded, loud, rather unclean shuttles. Levi would rather have caught a private escort to Cirrus Station, but that wasn't how things worked in the Nepleslia military. Levi had been a part of the navy for 3 years now, but he still preferred solidarity as opposed to the imposed camaraderie with the other airmen. Still rather pleased from his recent promotion to On-Board Systems Engineer, Levi was eager to get to work. He didn't quite know what was in store for him at Cirrus, but his previous commanding officer assured him that the research station was one of the forerunners in technological research and development.

“We'll see...”

Levi whispered to himself, catching a rather estranged look from the marine sitting across from him. Dressed in his blue navy uniform, Levi fiddled with a button on his overshirt as the ship traversed. His garrison hat sat on his lap; his short, violet-tinged hair blew slightly in the shuttle due to the ventilation system. He remained quiet for the remainder of the trip and milled over his relocation details. He was informed that most usually one of the Savtechs would greet new arrivals and assist them to their station. Arriving on a shuttle whose departure was delayed, the cadet didn't know what to expect...

Levi would be left to stand there without guidance for only a few moments before Mimi, a Cirrus Station Savtech, appeared before him with a gracious bow and a smile.

"Ah, Mr. Levi! Welcome to the Cirrus Research Station! You must have caught a late flight...please follow me to your assigned squad, we're getting ready to receive our debriefing. I hope you've been informed of your assignment here beforehand...but if not, I can give you a short summary while we walk."

With that, Mimi turned on her heel and walked down the northernmost corridor, slowing her pace only enough to allow the new recruit to keep within her reach.

The man nodded politely as the Savtech finished speaking and followed her closely as they navigated the crowded corridor. Levi had packed rather light, only bringing a few personal effects along with the standard navy issue uniform and accessories. A few books on various operating system theories and practices, a digital watch, and his reading glasses were about all he had that he could say were truly his. Well, he did have a small bag of candy he bought at a shuttle stop, but that was confiscated as soon as he stepped off of the shuttle. Levi's mind slowly processed the information passed on to him from the AI.

Squad... Mission... Debriefing...

He had heard a couple rumors being passed around on the shuttle about a new colony and planet named Prilisa Four. Some of the marines even mentioned a planet-side mission involving a large material shipment. He never assumed it would have anything to do with him however. “Research and development indeed”, he thought.

“Yes, ma'am, I heard a few recruits speak of a planet-side mission to Prilisa Four. I assume that's the mission you're referring to?”

He adjusted his garrison hat to sit comfortably on the top of his head as he spoke, wanting to seem more respectable. Levi's eyes wandered about the hallway, not fixing them on the Savtech in front of him.

From her perch atop Lorcan's shoulder, Dream stared down to Himiko.

The blue-haired Freespacer smiled. "Hey, what about you? Why don't you introduce yourself, too?" She asked in a curious tone of voice.

In the background, the spherical Junker droid, nicknamed Flower due to the pattern that was painted all over him, now all shiny thanks to Cora's care, clunked and whizzed examining the cans of paint he was carrying around when the new recruits appeared with amusing care.

Feeling Dream shift on his shoulder to address Himiko behind him he turned, slowly enough so he didn't throw Dream off and smirked. "Himiko this is Dream, Dream this is Himiko." And then With a grin he put an arm around Himiko's shoulders and led her back over to the delivery system and showed her how to type in her code to get her gear from storage. He reached up with one hand and gently set Dream down, handing the 'Spacer the armor attachments that went on Himiko's suit. "Dream, Why down you go show Himiko how to get into her suit and I'll talk to you both when you get back?"

With a grin to Himiko he added softly for her "She's Eccentric, but she'll take good care of you..." And gently gave Himiko a nudge towards the woman's bathroom. He watched for a minute and then sighed and with a rather pleased expression, closed the visor of his helmet and let his eyes adjust before checking the HUD. Sliding a hand back over his shoulder to make sure his big gun was securely holstered and then he yawned and streched, testing the limits of the armor before being satisfied. He walked over and sat down on his bunk and sat there quietly for a few minutes and then with a look around at everybody else, especially Lucas, he pulled one of his knives from his boot and a cloth from his bag and began to polish it.

This group was nearly as discouraging as the last, with that weird Animal/human thing walking out on him and Himiko a very quiet girl. With an aggravated sigh. He tucked the cloth through his belt and slid the knife back in it's sheath and got to his feet. Then thinking of the new recruits he grinned to himself and headed for the bathrooms to see if he could find that ID-SOL from earlier, almost happy he wasn't the only one here...

Dream smiled a wide, mischievous grin. "Because I have no idea how yo put on these thing myself-" Suddenly, she stopped. "...waaaaait a minute. Do you mea-..."

Interrupting herself once again, she snapped in Kess' direction: "Oi! Kess! Do I have to put on this thing as well?"

Helmet visor down, Tweak made it out of the barracks before Deacon got there and started toward the shuttle bay, wanting to just get away from the rest of the group for a little while. She had everything she needed, the barracks were getting too crowded...and the Kohanian was making her nervous. She couldn't tell what he thought of her, and it still bothered her that she didn't know anything about what he was.

Hearing Mimi's voice around a corner, Tweak wasn't surprised to see Mimi coming toward her with a man in a Nepleslian uniform. Another addition? The barracks were crowded already...Tweak stood to one side of the corridor as Mimi and Levi passed and flipped up the visor of her helmet. The expression in her dark red eyes was friendly, and she gave Levi a smile and nod of greeting as he got nearer, but she wasn't very sure what to think of him yet.

Then the Freespacer's attention turned to Mimi. "Miss Mimi! Was there anything you need me to do before the mission started?" she asked.

Himiko was a little confused, but she went on with what they were going on about. "Nice to meet you, Dream," she said with a positive smile as she gathered her gear. The green-haired Yamataian then asked Dream, "What are we supposed to do now?" She clung to her gear, as if it gave her a sense of security somehow.
