RP: Cirrus Station [Episode 7] It's All Fun and Trains

Kokuten stared at the make-shift neck brace. For a few moments, he was speechless, and then he started to chuckle. A warm smile spreading on his face again as he started to lift up Deacon on to his feet.

"Tweak, have you ever considered becoming a field medic? Or perhaps a paramedic? You would be very capable!" Kokuten laughed as he began to escort the Kohanian out with the assistance of Tweak.

The visor of Tweak's helmet hid her blush but not her embarrassed reply.

"Thank-thank..." She paused, then tried again. "Thank you, sir." Still kneeling beside her teammate, she pulled Deacon's left arm over her shoulders and slowly stood up, giving the injured hyena-man a moment to get his footing if he could before Kokuten took up his right side and they moved to the doorless doorway.

It took a while, as much because they tried to be careful of Deacon's injuries as it was that they were carrying someone that was larger than either of them. Tweak paused at the station platform and craned her neck to look at Kokuten. "Should we wait for a gurney?" she asked.

"We'll set him down here." Kokuten mentioned, lowering his side of Deacon with Tweak. He gave another smile to the Freespacer, "I'll see to it that Deacon and any other of our injured friends are evac'd to a proper med-bay for treatment. For now, I will keep him stabilized, bring any more injured individuals you find to me, and I will do what I can before we can move to a more suitable place."

He began to look down to tend to Deacon, before looking back up at her again.

"Oh, and thank you. It is good to see that you've come a long way in relations to Nepleslia since that little incident on the Alliance." Kokuten chuckled, remembering fondly of the first time the Alliance had come into contact with the Freespacers. He looked back down at Deacon and waved a hand in front of his face.

"Deacon? How many fingers am I holding up?"

"The Alliance?" A brief search brought up related entries, but Tweak put them off to the side. At least she had found something that backed up his statement. She turned her attention back to his request to search for more injured. "Yessir, will do."

The 'Spacer neko returned to the runaway's resting place and re-checked it for any team members who still remained. Serra and Claire seemed to be alright, or at least mobile. Movement caught her attention near the front of the tram, leading Tweak to where Noboru was trying to get a response from Method.

Jogging over to them, Tweak slowed as she came up behind Noboru, then walking around Method to kneel next to her while examining the situation before looking up at Noboru.

"What happened?"

After a short while, as Squad 35 assembled amongst the wreckage, a small crowd had began to gather near the entrance to the tram station. A couple more Cirrus Station Security members had arrived as well, venturing forward to help with what they could. A few of the miscellaneous bystanders, some of them the very people Squad 35 had saved from the runaway tram, even clapped a little, shouting encouragement and congratulations for the squad's effort.

From behind them, more people appeared in the doorway. These Cirrus Station personnel seemed a little more determined, however. Their white coats were emblazoned with small red crosses; doctors and scientists commandeered from the Medical wing of the Cirrus Pharmaceutical research and development. Although most of them weren't truly designated medical officers or officials, they were trained in medicine and carried portable gurneys and medical supplies with them as well. Leading their charge, however, in typical hurried and flustered fashion, was Cassefin Montreal, floating along quickly on her preferred method of transportation of a circular gravimetric platform.

As the Cirrus doctors and medical assistants flooded onto the platform, offering their assistance to the injured, Cassefin silently scanned the tram platform. Locking her crimson-flared eyes onto Claire, the Head Administrator immediately hovered over to her position and unceremoniously heisted Kess' Savtech unit out of Claire's possession.

Claire, not even thinking when she felt Kess' unit be grabbed, reacted immediately without hesitation. Her combat knife was drawn from its sheath and brought around as her other hand seized Cassefin's arm. The glare in her eyes was evident in all of the half a second it took for this to happen.

The blade stopped a couple inches away from Montreal's neck.

There was a silent still moment before Claire realized who it was and let the blade and her grip fall away from her boss. She breathed a huge sigh of nervous relief. "Cassie... don't scare me like that please. If ya need something from me just say so..." She hadn't meant to threaten her like that, it was just reaction. She was of course still on edge after the whole tram ride and various robotic 'helpers' trying to harm them.

Deacon's head bobbed and weaved slightly, like a bobblehead, before Tweak put the collar on him. Even then he still sort of wavered slowly and steadily along. When he was sat on the platform, he couldn't help but wince slightly at both the pain in his body, but also the damage that had been done to the stations transportation system.

"Sir, I can't tell how many fingers, you're moving them too fast." He said with a sardonic grin, and then turned his whole body to look at the scene going on around him. "Goodness, one would think we saved the whole station's lives, instead of just stopped a malfunctioning train."

"We saved several lives today, while stopping a Train, Deacon." Kokuten chuckled, giving the Kohanian a light pat on the back. "Our deeds this day are worth the celebration."

The Doctor was very relieved to see the Medical Crews, and assisted them in helping Deacon onto one of the gurnies.

"Alright, my friend." Kokuten patted Deacon again, as they rested him in. He gave him a reassuring smile. "Relax, and keep your eyes closed on the trip over. The motion will only serve to sicken you if you do not." The Captain nodded to the crews, trusting that they'd take good care of Deacon.

With that set aside, he turned, just in time to see Claire pull a knife on Cassefin, which caused the man's eyes to turn a stark, shocked white. The scene caused him to freeze, forcing the Captain to watch the episode silently. When Claire let go of the Administrator, he heaved a heavy sigh, his eyes fading back into a relaxed green. Kokuten expected an extreme upheaval from Cassefin any moment, so he walked closer to see what exactly this confrontation was about.

Cassefin yelped in fright as she was pounced upon by Claire. Her surprise turned to immediate anger when Claire realized her mistake, and the Head Administrator yanked her arm away and floated back a few feet into the air, making certain she was out of reach. "Unhand me, thick-headed brute!" Cassefin exclaimed, shaking slightly from either the scare or the rage. When she had reached a comfortable distance away, she huffed a defiant sigh and carefully looked over the savtech unit in her hands.

"Peke, is this was caused the tram malfunction?" Cassefin asked, looking down over to Peke, who was still lugging Goat's dismembered head. The Freespacer administrator cocked her head to the side. "Ummmmmm... I guess? Goat said Kess was tellin' him to keep her on the tram..." Peke attempted to explain. Seconds later, Mimi finally appeared on the scene in front of Cassefin Montreal, her face a little distressed. "Wait, Miss Cassefin, there must be some reason why Kess would do that. Maybe she was-"

"Maybe she was exploiting my closed-communication relays along the tram tunnels to avoid detection from the main Cirrus Station computer while she undermined the system," Cassefin interrupted Mimi, giving her own version of what she believed to be the truth. "All the more reason to delete this troublesome thing on the spot, wouldn't you agree?"

Claire frowned at Cassefin's unwarranted name-calling. She hadn't actually hurt the woman. But then came the following exchange, making her eyes narrow. It was obvious the idea of deleting Kess was not popular with the geshrin, but there was hints at the same anger she displayed back during the Vinross-Yu attack in her eyes. Something that said that it would take a lot to get her to back down.

"Cassefin, that is presumptuous and foolish and you know it. For all you know, She was trying to get the thing to stop. At the very, VERY least, you should allow Kess to speak for herself rather than assume that she did or didn't do anything."

Serra was holding her broken arm when Cassifin made the boneheaded decree of deleting a malignant program. "Administrator, we should inspect Kess before anything is decided. Learning about how she went rogue would provide information as to how to prevent it in the future."

Kokuten who had felt the need to speak on Kess' behalf, decided not to, as the two women near-by took up that cause themselves. Instead, Serra's broken arm caught his attention. He strolled over and lightly grasped her injured arm. The Captain looked up at the Elysian for a moment, almost as if he was asking for permission to tend to her arm. He didn't want to interrupt the flow of the conversation.

Serra noticed Kokuten's gaze and gave him a slight nod. she let go of her broken arm and held the limb out in the air for him.

Cassefin's anger at her recent man-handling was slowly subsiding as she exchanged careful glances between Serra and Claire through narrowed eyes. She was very upset that some Savtech decided to have a sick-day and wreck her transportation system, but even she couldn't argue the point Serra had presented... how did a savtech on her station become corrupted in such a manner? Cassefin was very confident in her antivirus barriers, after all.

"Very well," Cassefin agreed, having come to her decision. "I suppose a small look at its logs will present information on how it was afflicted. I can deal with it afterward. YOU all, however, will be here, making sure nothing else goes wrong. I've had enough stress today watching all of my tram systems being wrecked."

"Is that including the amount of time needed for some of our Squad Members to heal their injuries? We've at least three people who were injured in this." Kokuten said as he had already gathered up a sling for Serra to rest her arm in. It took a second to do, managing with the Elysian's large wings, but with enough time he was able to make it fit comfortably on her. He gave a short, confirming smile to Serra before turning to Cassefin.

"Deacon and Method are currently in need of Med-Bay attention," He gestured to Serra's arm, "Miss Evangelle's arm is broken."

Then, he gestured at Claire, "Our squad is still suffering from the anxiety of this event."

Then gestured at himself, specifically towards his head, to a face that was showing a genuine concern. "And some of us have misplaced our equipment in the catastrophe. I mean..." He gave the Head Administrator a weak smile, trying to sound as sympathetic to her own issues as possible, "Would it not be reasonable to allow us to recuperate, at least for a moment?"

Claire was a little relieved to hear Cassefin relent slightly, but it wasn't enough for her. Thankfully, she was holding back any threatening comments or motions so far.

"Cassie. You're a scientist right? You don't know that she was 'afflicted' with anything except possibly damage from being mishandled. You think she is the cause. That is your hypothesis. Mine is that she was trying to get the tram to stop and was using goat to get her connected to it's systems to do so. Before acting on a hypothesis, you need as much information as you can, consider all angles, take all sources possible; including listening what Kess has to say for herself, and see what the evidence confirms." There was a short pause.

"We haven't even begun to investigate the tram itself to determine it's cause, or secure the surrounding areas for clues. I would even go as far as to check the control centers to make sure nothing went awry. In fact, I think the fact we didn't hear from them this entire time is suspicious." Claire took a deep breath to calm herself slightly.

"Let those of us still unharmed ensure all loose ends are taken care of before anything is decided."

"I... umm..." Cassefin stammered for a moment, having eaten her words as Kokuten expanded on the reality of the squads condition. She did bring the medical wing with her to attend to such matters, after all. "Well... that's..." she continued after Claire spoke once more. They were all making good points to counteract Cassefin's own frustration-induced orders and statements... which only increased her flustered state even more. With all of the other bystanders watching the commotion from the sidelines, Cassefin stomped her foot down.

"WHATEVER! Just get on it done without any more problems!" the flame-headed Head Administrator demanded, her face red at being corrected so many times. On that note, her floating platform quickly turned and began to speed away, Cassefin still fuming and venting as she rode atop the device.

With the administrator's exit, so Blake's entrance was marked. He was walking a little more confidently after chewing on some Combat Candy given to him by a medic and feeling a little more confident as well. With his slowly developing confidence he spake thusly:

"It was on a family trip to Delsauria several years ago that I learned about something similar to this, and so I'd like to present a suggestion: We are organics, and therefore unable to understand the level of perception given to a machine." He shuffled his speech a little bit upon noticing Tweak again, "Nekos and Freespacers aside, that is. My point is that perhaps there was an external problem still, outside of the train's malfunction that had greater ramifications than the train's malfunction, and so the train must have been made to malfunction to avoid greater damage to the station. On Delsauria that day, a mining machine trapped six men in a tunnel to avoid a situation resulting in their deaths. I suggest something similar occuring in this situation. Either way, how are we to access this particular Savtech's ability to speak for itself?"

He looked over at Tweak, and then spread his gaze to the rest of the group.

"Are you capable of that, or who here is?"

Noboru was delayed in his actions. His limited medical training from the civil circuit told him that Method probably shouldn't be moved in her condition. However, his common sense and soldier sense (two different things) told him that he was standing on train tracks and should probably move the Freespacer before they were a risk to everything.

So he thought for a while. Eventually, he very carefully seized Method by the torso, slowly lifted her up and carried her to the group. "More wounded," he grunted, waiting for a medic to relieve him of this rather heavy Freespacer. Not that she herself was heavy - she wore a lot of metal stuff.

Tweak frowned from behind her helmet visor as Noboru ignored her. She put a hand on his arm as he started to lift Method, trying to stop him from taking the Freespacer anywhere.

"Don't move her, she could have internal injuries. I'll radio for medics," she said. But before following through on her offer, she had a question for him. "Did you see what happened to her? What was she doing?" While waiting for an answer, she called in for the medics.
