RP: Cirrus Station [Episode 9] The Silver Lining

The kiss caught Tweak completely off-guard and her thoughts froze again.

Kokuten said:
Shoomp! went the Captain's head as it disappeared under the bed as he collapsed again. He let out a little grumble, and seemed to give up trying to reach the bed. The floor appeared to do well enough.
The grumbling snapped her out of her What happened? state and Tweak noticed that Kokuten had found his way back to the floor after trying to get up. She went over to the bed and pulled the blankets and sheets back, then picked the captain up and lay him properly on the bed. She made sure he was in the middle of it, so he would have a buffer distance to cross before rolling off either side.

Pulling the blankets over him, Tweak stepped back. After a second of looking at him, she darted forward and gave Kokuten a quick kiss. "Sleep well." Then she left.

---

Her room was still free of unwanted transmissions and recording devices when Tweak returned to it. Still recovering from the surprises of that evening, her thoughts were jumbled, but she managed to remember to make her backup.

She lay her dress out on the bed after changing back into her usual clothes, and removed the ornamentation piece by piece, sticking the the metal baubles she had made in her pocket and every once in a while popping one in her mouth like a candy piece as she undid the rest of the dress. The coat was left alone; it wasn't formal-specific, where the dress was; she could probably wear the coat on another outing or around the station. She sort of liked it, too...it had a definite personality to it with her alterations. The gloves and prosthetic fingers could also come in handy later, so she-- Oh. She had left those in his room.

Sighing, Tweak double-checked to make sure the schematics for the prosthesis were saved in her memory unit, then resumed her un-preparations. Soon, the material that had comprised the dress was back where she had found it, all added material and metal removed to leave it looking as if it had never been used. The comforter that Tweak had taken a section from to use as said extra material was still narrower by a foot on one side than it had been, but she had sewn it back up so it looked like it had never been altered, after removing what she needed. Only the cleaning crew would notice that it didn't cover as much of the bed as it used to, or that the other comforters in the wash were significantly larger.

Her work done and bag packed for leaving tomorrow (with a special alert ping programmed into her memory unit for a wake-up call), the neko hopped onto the bed, back-flopping into the plushness. It was heaven compared with what she had woken up on that morning. Taking an etched metal disk bauble from her pocket, Tweak slowly sucked on it like a peppermint as her thoughts finally regained order again.

After a while, she yawned and rolled over onto her side. It wasn't very late, to most people, but she was sleepy. The day had been very, very full of things...so she supposed it wasn't very surprising that she was tired. Then Tweak remembered something and sat up on the bed.

Oh...one more thing to check.

"Mr. Weathersby?"

Tweak's call for the enigmatic gentleman was met with silence, her voice sounding out in the empty room, garnering no response. It remained that way for a minute or so, however, until a light knocking sound reverberated from the suite's front door.

With her eyes narrowed and a smile that didn't know whether to be suspicious or amused, Tweak left her bed and went over to the door, picking up her cap on the way over and putting it on. After making sure the hat covered her ears, she opened the door.

I searched the room for bugs...how did he hear? How did anyone hear?
