RP: YSS Genesis [Episode One] All the Queen's Men

Shinon and gang got in just in time. Lights dimmed and she was listening to Seth. What he was telling was very interesting but then when he to the part about ranks she frowned. They want her to put her rank to side? Sure she will have it officialy but she shoudl not use her rank? That seemed like load of bull to Shinon. She worked her ass for years to get through academy and become full-fledged officer. She also realised whey they sent her on this. Why sendind experienced field officer when you can send someone who just graduated? Especially since she is that half-nepleslian loudmouth. Maybe she was paranoid, but it seemed to her, that someone tryied to put her away for a while.

She sighed and listened to the rest of the talk. The origin executive looked like professional and Shinon liked that. At least there will be someone to keep the civvies in line. Although that hard-ass abwehran will be able to do that too.

When talking was done she turned to Shimeii. "Santo-hei, you stop worry abotu missing soldier. Me and some other will find him. Just go with a crows and get used to ship." She said, nodded at nervous neko with gentle smile before walking out in the hall to wait for others. At least she get to be in search party for her missing infantry man.

It was hard to surprise Rüd Grülik, and yet the ship's administration managed to do so with grace. The elimination of ranks was an amusing and in fact appreciable change of terms for the Nightwalker. It meant submitting only when someone else had greater expertise, not more time invested. That meant others would be expected to turn to him when it came to defense and protocols, but he would also be expected to subjugate himself to the wisdom of others otherwise. The Abwehran liked this idea- a lot, in fact.

This was how the crew of Empty Promise had operated during his time in the Captain's employ. Back when he was a mercenary, though, his job title held far less prestige than this one- and far more respect than this one. Due to his size and physical prowess, the Rued the Affable Storm was always given the big guns, which in turn meant great responsibilities. Those were his fondest memories, and it only widened the smile that had crept onto his face.

With the briefing over, he left quickly to answer Miss Merkur's summons. He nodded to acknowledge her and introduced himself: "Rüd Grülik, head of security."

"I thought ya was eatin' breakfast with her or somethin' since ya came in here togetha'." Yumeko replied. She was about to say more but then the briefing started. Upon it's conclusion she then shook her head.

"What!? No ranks? I think mah head is gonna explode!" she then said before putting her hands up to the sides of her head and making an explosion gesture. After she was done she then just shrugged.

"So ya eatin' breakfast with us Fieke?" Yumeko asked pronouncing Fieke's name with uncertainty.

Yoko, predictably, grinned and grabbed herself a cup of coffee to celebrate.

With ranks out of the way, she'd be able to take care of her shit, and not take shit from anyone that didn't know shit about her shit. It sounded almost too good to be true. When the speeches came to an end though, the Geshrin couldn't help but snort. "Whaat? Some noob gets lost whea the AI's all ova the place?"

By the time she had a small mouthful of her coffee though, Yoko was working hard at not spitting it out as the Neko next to her acted as what seemed to be her usual self. This one was full of surprises, but not so much in the head. Still, it was a lot better than most people!

Yoko thought to herself that she could get along with Yumeko as they made their way over to Sierra.

Once everyone had arrived in the hallway as asked, Sierra pushed up her glasses and looked at her clipboard for a moment before clearing her throat and addressing those present.

"Alright. Our missing soldier is a Power Armor pilot, which falls under your jurisdiction, miss Maverick. The rest of you were chosen because you are already familiar with the ship, and some of you are familiar with this station. Apparently, the soldier was misplaced before entering Sector Seven, and the AI has confirmed that the temporary pass given him to enter the restricted sector has not yet been used, so it is safe to assume he's still in Sector Nine. We will shuttle you out to his last known location. Any objections to your assigned task?"

Shinon just shook her head in disbelief. "I will make sure to talk to him about misconduct miss Merkur." She replied to the Origin higher-up. "I just need to change my clothes. Long skirt is not the best thing for search party. It will be just a minute." Shinon said. It would be really stupid walking around for longer times in long skirt. She wanted pants on her for that. She also wanted her sidearm too. One does never know.

So they were going after this lost pilot. That was enough for him. Wait, not quite: "Just one ma'am: the pilot's name? With that, I think we're good to go."

"Woo hoo let's go search fer the guy! If he's lost and the MEGAMI can't find him then maybe he's in one o' them access tunnels she don't normally have peepers in. Which makes me wonder why he'd be in there in the first place but that's fer sure!" Yumeko cheerfully prattled as she got ready to help look for the missing pilot.

"Ugh. One of the Star Army's Powah Awmoar jarheads?" Yoko grunted in disgust, making sure to stress her own accent to the point of childishness. She sighed; perhaps now wasn't the time to be thinking about that. The Geshrin decided to raise her hand. "Yo! Sierra! Ya gots a name and pic of this guy? " she asked the engineer.

"Cuz it's kinda hard searchin for a guy when ya don't know his face oa name, yaknow?

"Well, Since time is of the essence, I was going to fill you all in on the details on the way to the search location so, please, come with me and I'll tell you." True to her word, the redheaded Origin executive began moving down the hallway, to the elevator, and started talking again.

"The Soldier in question is known as Kin Nakamura. He is quite tall, over six feet, in fact, and has somewhat long blonde hair. He is known to wear a pair of gold-tinted aviator glasses, but otherwise adheres to uniform regulations. I haven't been provided with an image, so that's the best I can give you as far as a description goes."

By this time, the group was out of the ship and in the hangar, and, sure enough, there was a vehicle ready to take them to the spaceport. After they all got in, the hovercar suddenly took off at top speed.

Sierra suddenly got back to what some of them had said earlier, which she had ignored for Expedience' sake.

"Oh, Shinon, Please do not reprimand mister Nakamura too hard; We did provide transportation but he is free to choose whichever method of travel to the hangar as is available to him, and may have simply gotten lost. As for MEGAMI, Yumeko, this is a Civilian station, we do not have a MEGAMI, and our Destiny-type Administrative computers are made to not pry into our citizens' private lives. Outside of restricted and secured areas, there isn't much we can do."

At top speed, the vehicle quickly made it through sector seven and out to Sector nine, and it was at that point where they would remember that they probably had a difficult task set before them- Sector nine was, literally, a city.

Rüd listened disinterestedly. A soldier lacking discipline and punctuality was not a soldier the Abwehran could respect, regardless of race or sex. Kin Nakamura; blond Yamataian in uniform with gold shades. If he was a good soldier, he'd still be seeking a means of arriving at the ship.

As the hovercar came to a stop, the Nightwalker climbed out. "Very well then. I think it best if we split up. If you find him, a quick message over the administrative channel will suffice." He waggled his DataJockey for clarification. "Miss Merkur, do we have a time limit?"

Shinon was not happy about not having enough time to change into pants. But that was not a problem, she is soldier and soldiers needs to adapt. What pained her more was lack of sidearm. Sure it would be needless on Origin station, but she liked to be ready. After all Genesis is protypal ship and as that it was probably kept hush-hush. The reason of Nakamura-hei lateness might not be him getting lost. Maybe Shinon was paranoid, but it would not surprise her if he would be kidnapped.

"Oh I don't plan to eat him miss Merkur. But still I will scold him properly. He is soldier of Yamatai and his tardiness won't be ignored. As for him getting lost, he should be able to use communicator to get to location or even use taxi. I won't buy that excuse really." She said to Origina executive.

She then looked at Rüd who suggested splitting up. "I agree Mr. Grülik. I suggest you take Takeda-hei with you so there is member of Yamataian military in both groups. I will go with miss Omitsu. I hope there won't be problem with that?" She ended up her statement with question. She not only wanted to have soldier of Yamatai in both groups but also person who can take care of himself. Rüd seemed like capable combatant and Shinon was confident in her skills. "Always be careful," was sentence she heard her dad say in past pretty often.

The grey-skinned Abwehran paused, and looked toward Shinon. "Why not each of us go our own way? We would cover twice as much ground. Other than that fact I agree that your strategy is sound."

This was something Rüd could appreciate: no hostility remained from their brief exchange earlier at the ship's entryway- at least, none that he could detect. It was very professional of Shinon, an attribute for which he was always grateful to find in others.

The Geshrin engineer took in all the details that Merkur told her about the man. Yoko visualized him in all the detail she could muster in her imagination, and soon enough, made up her mind. "Ey, where we gonna start lookin for this guy?" she asked in all seriousness. "I don't knows what's on youa mind, but my guess is we'd best be looking at bars and clubs." Yoko suggested in all seriousness.

"I mean, long blonde hair and aviators? He sounds a bit douchey, ya-know?"

Sierra spoke up as the crewmembers began planning amongst themselves. "If I may Interject, we would prefer that you guys, at the very least, pair up, with one Star Army person to one Origin person- The point of this entire exercise is to promote teamwork, after all, and besides, I'm not sure if any of the Star Army Personnel are exactly familiar with the station- we wouldn't want to have more people lost, after all."
The redhead adjusted her spectacles and then looked at everybody present. "You all have communicators, right? Here, This is the address to my datapad, and this is the address to the Genesis itself." Sierra sent the two contact addresses to all the crewmembers before her, and then continued. "Call me if you find him, and call the Genesis if you need backup. Now, Off you go, time's a-wasting!"

"What? No omnipresent computer that watches me pee and makes sure I clean up after myself? The horror!" Yumeko said jokingly. "Alright let's get to searchin'!" she said enthusiastically. She checked her communicator and made sure she had the address along with a map downloaded. With a quick step she moved to follow the crowd before breaking off and following one of the Abwehrans..... What was his name again?

Shinon nodded at red-head and then looked at others. They were four, so it really was best for them to head out in pairs.

"So now that we got this cleared out we should work together on this. I will go with miss Omitsu. I think we should try to hit bars and places like that. He is also a power armou jockey so he might be interested in stuff Origin sells, so let's look to Ori-stores too." She said to the group before looking at Yoko. "Is there any interesting place? Museum or some shit, that could draw the guy in?" She asked.

Yoko for once, gave a sheepish look at Yumeko.

"Yea...I think I know why my mom and pops never left foa Yamaitai now..." the Geshrin spoke slowly as she took it seriously. Inside, she wilted a little at the thought of some omni-present entity watching as one did their business. Inside her mind, a never blinking eye watched over a porcelain throne as Omitsu herself strode in and began unzipping her uniform. The mental imagery sent a chill down her spine that made the tough woman visibly shiver.

But she was glad that something brought her out of that mental hell.

"Gawd, what kind of guy you think he is? A museum? You thought we'd find him in a museum?" the engineer chided. "I say the glasses make him look likes a perv, yaknow what I'm sayin? Strip clubs and bars - places like that'd be for a guy like him I think."

"Its not like we'd find him ina bookstore or somethin, though the guns might work."

Shinon nodded. Yoko was probably right about the museum. Blue haired yamataian would still love to read on the guy first, but she still did not receive personal data on anyone of her team. She did not even knew her names, except one nervous neko. She sighed and looked at Yoko.

"You are right with museums," she said. "Let's start with the gun-stores and then strip-clubs."

The Nightwalker mentally noted the mouthy pair, Yoko and Yumeko, and got right back to business. "So it is. Miz Yumeko." Rüd nodded in the direction opposite Yoko and Shinon. "We'll head this way. Same plan: any place looks welcoming, like he might be able to find directions there, we'll check it out." Without awaiting a response, he started walking.

They would shortly come across a rather tame bar, which immediately caught the Abwehran's eye. He pointed and brought it to Yumeko's attention. "We ought to look there, I think."
