Delta Wing: Training Mission 001

Katsuko had finished up her tea when she seen Yoshike hovering around the communications officer. She rose from her chair and walked down the stairs "Good morning Shosa, some training scheduled this morning?â€

Update:

Santo Hei Bishop is also assigned to this mission. Cleared to utilize the super PHALAX linked in Wes's above post.

Lets get some IC in here folks.

:)

(OOC: I don't have time for much today, so I'll do this to let you know I'm still alive, but expect lengthier posting from me tomorrow, provided I can either get my busted home PC working or at least make it up to the local library again.)

"Let's go, people,â€

Bishop had already made it to the starboard launching bay when Mayuko arrived
"Must be training with us," he thought, giving the newcomer a friendly nod, Bishop still couldn't believe his luck, he had figured he wouldn't be going near anything like the M1-3 "Super Phalanx" he was now suiting up for, not unless it was broken, he had figured he'd be put on a security patrol or be put to work givig the ship a once over, crawling through maintenance tubes looking for problems
"Just my good fortune I guess," He thought to himself happily as he ran the computer targeting and scanners through simple diagnostics to make sure they were functional then prepared to get inside.

Corro sighed as he inspected his Super Phalanx before finishing the suit-up procedure. He had received word about the mission while he was in the mess hall catching a few minutes of sleep.

He was fairly impressed with the craftsmanship of the powered armor. But he knew he'd never full appreciate it as much as some would. Corro removed his uniform jacket before hearing a burst transmission.

"Let's go, people,â€

With all the preps finished Bishop sealed the helmet to the armor and began walking, he hadn't operated a Power armor since his basic training and was surprised at how easy it was to get back into the swing of it, the machine was incredibly intuitive of course.

Taking a couple turnes as he headed towards the doors to make sure he had the feel of it Bishop clicked on his headset
"This is Santo Hei Bishop Kuroi, could everyone check comm lines?" he asked, taking a position left of Mayuko.

Good morning Delta Wing,

This is YSS-Sayo, training scout for the 5th expeditionary fleet. We are in position and awaiting escort to Taiie IV. Please enter an appropriate escort formation and signal us when you are prepared to get underway.

Acting Chui,
YSS-Sayo

The Sayo maintained position 1000km from the Akuro, the scout ship on its first training mission with this training crew aboard. The nervous acting Chui sat forward in the captain's chair unused to the position, tapping her fingers upon the interface console.

Meanwhile onboard the Akuro, Yoshike had made her way to the flight control bridge where she would monitor the training ships and armors while they went on their mission. The mission assigned to the Sayo was to conduct a scan of Taiie IV to determine its potential for colonization, spite a training mission the mission itself was as real as the tea Yoshike sipped as she waited.

The trainees had been informed prior that they would be engaging in war games with alpha wing after they delivered the Sayo to Taiie IV but were assumed to be unprepared for the surprises planned for this particular mission.

"Roger that Sayo." Corro responded. Corro began to acceleration his Super Phalanx into a prime position near the vessel. He waited a few seconds before verifying where the rest of his squad was located.

A sudden feeling a vertigo and disorientation swam through Corro's mind and stomach. His heartbeat spiked for a few seconds as the young man attempted to right himself again. The monitor system onboard noticed the increased agitation in the heartbeat and brainwaves. It immediately went to work with chemical cocktail meant to stabilize the pilot. Corro's spinning vision and lightheadedness was soon replaced with a more calm feeling.

The now relaxed Nepleslian located his two comrades and called out to them. "I'll take point on the port side of the ship. You guys work out whose taking starboard and fore." With a surge of confidence Corro turned in his armor and proceeded to boost to a desirable position slight ahead and to the port of the Sayo. As he moved forward he unlatched the EM-9L Carbine from its resting place on his back and swung it into a resting position in both hands.

"I'll take the starboard position," Bishop spoke into the comm unit, taking his favoured place in formation while starting to feel uneasy, he had noticed something, for a small moment he had seen Corro's Phalanx lurch slightly, but the problem had fixed it'self it seemed. Corro's voice sounded fine and there wasn't anything else out of the ordinary, but all the same he kept Corro's Phalanx just in sensor range, if something slipped he'd know about it.

While he concentrated on the mission Bishop found the view of space from the Phalanx brilliant, everything seemed bigger, which wasn't difficult to understand considering he was beside some of the largest class ships in the galaxy, Bishop put the thoughts out of his mind and went through the routine for escorting ships he had been taught at Basic training, he took a sensory "Pic" of the Sayo so that if anything changed he could pin point the problem, course he had always figured he'd notice an explosion or pirate raid just as easily without the sensors Bishop wasn't about the take any chances, this was after all his first impression and he wasn't going to screw up.

"Unless either of you have reason otherwise, we should tell the Sayo we're ready to get under way," Bishop spoke into his comm

The flight to Taiie IV was rather quiet; the point of the escort mission was merely to have a presence with the scout on its way to the planet. More so to delivery Delta Wing to their next objective. A slight change to the original flight plan was made without their knowledge. Instead of Alpha Wing being at the waypoint away from Taiie IV they waited on the dark side of its largest moon.

The Sayo broke from formation and sent the message to Delta Wing;

"Thank you for the escort, Sayo Out...â€

" Come on...let's see what you got."

"Alright everyone, Corro laydown some surpressive fire, Mayuko, we'll circle around them and take this fight a little closer," Bishop said into the comm while breaking from formation,

"gotta blind 'em," Bishop thought sending out a Blackout suite and launching it into the middle of Alpha wings formation to jam their targeting computers while continuing to move around to their side.

With his carbine rifle in both hands bishoop began firing distrupter shots, focusing on target "Alpha one," trying to knock out their leader.

Corro was the first to responded to the Sayo's communication. "Roger that Sayo, happy trail-GAAHHH!" As Alpha One's shots zipped in front of his powered armor. Corro sent the Super Phalanx into a quick backward thrust, attempting to dodge anymore shots.

" Come on...let's see what you got."

"Oh you are so mine." Corro gritted his teeth and released two of his three RPV drones with orders to monitor the two Mindy's that were at the rear of their formation.

"Bishop, right?" Corro asked into his wing's communications network. "Activate your SLICS we'll be able to link up and not get surprised by them." As he finished speaking he activated his own SLICS system. With all his systems going active Corro was ready to start, his nerves twitched with anxiety. He tried to circle his powered armor above Alpha Wing. "Let's go Delta!"

"SLICS up and running, now lets try to pen them in, I dropped a Blackout into the middle of their formation, if they can't move their sensors will stay jammed, I'd rather keep them blind, keep running down a surpressive fire," Bishop replied into the comm,

Alpha wing was trying to move,
"Not if I can help it," he thought, taking his sights off Alpha one to try and pin them down with rapid fire.

"Now if i can just get a little closer," he thought.

Alpha One:
"They have managed to jam our targeting scanners...Alpha Wing engage maneuver 10...â€

"They're too fast." Corro strained out as his Super Phalanx accelerated to its maximum speed and began barrel rolling all about. The Nepleslian knew he couldn't keep this pace up for much longer. The fight was just beginning and he was already feeling the desperation set in.

Switching weapons from his carbine to the plasma projectors turned his powered armor belly up to face his attackers. Corro quickly generated four smaller balls of the plasma, one at each projector. "Get..." Corro started saying as he wound up. "Off of me!" he shouted as he kicked both legs and punch forward at once, sending the bolts of plasma towards the pursuing Alpha Two and Three. The small amount of guidance Corro could provide sent two bolts at each Mindy.

Immediately after firing his weapon Corro began to realize a potential plan. Releasing the last of his drones, He ordered all three to monitor the two Mindy's attacking him at a close range. He hoped his idea could come into being, because he was sure those Mindy's would dodge his last salvo, and they'd be gunning for him even harder.

Bishop's tracking computer had barely kept up with his opponent. Running on instinct, he turned on the plasma projectors on his armor's feet and did a cartwheel, tucking himself into a ball and bearly missing the Alpha unit's punch, with all the Phalanx's might, he kicked out at his opponents chest while turning around to fire at her head.

"I've only seen speed like this once before," he thought, then shouted into his comm
"Watch out Corro, we're against Nekos, and good ones at that! Mayuko, give Corro some cover fire!"
