Lenna glanced over at the new hire, Leonard. In a low voice, she said, "I see. Yes, as Captain, I do have certain leeways to take some 'ahem' undocumented items now and then. I'm quite sure you'll be shown the shielded cargo spaces once the Cargo Master trusts you. But for now, you didn’t hear anything."

Then, shifting to a normal tone, she added, "You, new hire! What are you doing lolligagging out here? Get this cargo loaded, or see yourself out of here." The smile on her face signaled that it was just for show and not a real threat.

Between the loader and the work of Mercury, the cargo that wasn't too damaged was loaded into the hold of the ISS Sobek and secured for transport. Neviss's ship was being prepared, and some engineers were assisting him with troubleshooting issues.

Once the last bit of cargo was loaded, Lenna smiled and moved to exit the cargo hold. She headed to the turboshaft, ascended into the dorsal bridge, and took her position at the captain's console. Flipping on the comms, she announced, "ISS Sobek to Detritus Station, requesting undocking and clearance to leave dock."

"ISS Sobek, please stand by for docking clamp release," came the response.

Lenna then turned on the ship's comms. "Hello, crew! We are fully loaded with all the cargo that was not damaged, along with some new crew members. First of all, welcome to the ISS Sobek! I hope your time here will be good. Second, we may or may not be asking for trouble with this cargo, so I want everyone to be prepared to man the turrets or be ready to put out fires. I do not want to be caught with my pants down, so to speak.

Also, new hires are to report to the infirmary at your convenience so the ship doctor can speak with you. Remember, holding back vital information about yourselves could lead to your death later. We will run the ship at 125% of normal power levels, or at the normal levels if we weren't dealing with an older ship. If you see smoke or smell something funny, report it right away before it becomes a larger problem. Main gun crews, report to your stations—you know who you are. Nikicon, please stay back in engineering. Zeak, report to the dorsal bridge to assist with the trip."

There was a thunk, followed by another. The comms beeped. "ISS Sobek, This is Detritus Station. ISS Sobek docking clamps have been released. You are free to exit Station OA, mark 255, at 0.05c. Godspeed and safe journey."

"Thank you, Detritus Station! See you on the return! Mark 255 at 0.05c, roger! Good day!"

At that moment, Zeak entered and smiled as she took up the navigation console. Lenna smiled back and said, "Mark 255, speed 0.05c until we leave the station AO. After that, I want a slow speed increase to 0.4 until we are free of the gravity well, then prepare for jump. Plot a course to Sood Zadra as soon as possible."

Zeak nodded and repeated, "Mark 255, at 0.05c until leaving Station OA, then best speed to the hyperspace point."

The ISS Sobek's thrusters puffed as they fired, pushing the ship away from the station’s docking area. The ship then oriented itself toward the designated exit lane. The aft thrusters lit up weakly as the drives began to extend the craft away. Once far enough, the four exhausts glowed brightly, accelerating the heavily laden gunship-turned-cargo ship away from the station.

Now that Mileena was certain Nikicon was safe and unharmed, a wave of relief washed over her. With her friend no longer at the forefront of her worries, she continued her walk through the ISS Sobek’s corridors. Her thoughts drifted as her paws padded softly against the metal floors, reflecting on how glad she was to have escaped DracoTown in the Draco Eridanus System. While it wasn’t harsh, the fact that she might be construpted to the military bothered her. The Sobek, with its crew and constant sense of purpose, was a far cry from the life she’d left behind, and she was grateful for it every day.

Her musings were interrupted when she spotted Holgi, the ship’s supply officer, struggling to carry several containers stacked precariously in her arms. Mileena opened her mouth to offer assistance when, to her surprise, the D3 stepped forward, moving with a calm grace to help Holgi. She paused, observing their interaction curiously.

Her attention was drawn to the ship’s comms as the captain’s voice rang out, clear and commanding. Mileena’s ears perked as she listened. She always appreciated Captain Lenna’s no-nonsense tone. It kept the crew focused and cohesive, even when the unexpected arose. The fox anthro nodded to herself and turned toward her station at one of the Sobek’s main guns. The steady hum of the ship’s systems seemed to grow louder as she approached her post, a reassuring reminder of the vessel’s readiness.

Sliding into her seat, Mileena ran her fingers over the controls, ensuring everything was in order. As she did, her sharp eyes caught sight of the Asgeir sisters at work. The Nekovalkyrja were an impressive sight—physically imposing and incredibly efficient. Their enhanced physiology gave them strength that outmatched most of the crew, and they moved with synchronized precision, hefting the massive ammo cartridges into place as though they weighed nothing.

“Excellent work, ladies,” Mileena called out, her voice carrying a note of admiration. Leaning back in her seat, Mileena allowed herself a moment to relax, though her senses remained on high alert. The Sobek was still in port for now, but she knew all too well how quickly situations could escalate once they were in open space. If trouble came their way, she was ready to defend the ship and its crew with everything she had. Resting her hand on the control stick, she took a deep breath and gazed out at the stars visible through the viewport, her sharp eyes scanning the expanse of space for any signs of movement.

Medical Chamber

In truth, Holgi probably could have loaded up everything onto her back, and had D3 comfortably saddled on top- But they didn't have time for such goofy displays, and the service trolley that she was using belonged to the station itself.

"Yes, I think dhiz wöult be very helpfül!~" So she kissed the small gynoid on the top of their hair and accepted their help readily, piling the smorgasbord of plastic crates into the hanger deck, so they could be slowly transferred across to the medical room. It rapidly became a dark and gloomy little cave compared to Holgi's cumbersome scaly body, but she still looked pretty relieved just to get it all sorted out in time.

...And then, there was still the small matter of actually communicating with D3. With a bit of effort they added the Hureog auto-translation program onto the Sobek's local net, so that Silanbar text could now be translated... Apparently the banded information around the trash dragon's neck and tail directly referred to their assignment as a trained Kuvexian medical auxiliary... Well, qualified for other "lesser" aliens, anyway.

"Thank you small one, this very useful.~" An appreciative nod, lowering their neck to face level. A befangled smile, sheepish but genuine. "Holgis will be helping you muchly. This equipments be helping the Sobeks very muchly.~"

"-Hurm, yes, first things!~" The nodding continued long after necessary, as they turned their snakey head into one of the new cargo bins, producing a pistol-gripped thing with a weird flat disk on top. A medical scanner from the Nepleslian Medical Kit Gen.2.

They took scans of themselves, and then the small doll in their company, still nodding as if they understood the data perfectly.

"Hurm. Hurm. Yäs..."

Time to just turn up and scan all the crew without explaining anything! It was Holgi's real and responsible job, don't you know!

D3 was quite glad to be of help and with Holgi the two managed to get things sorted and put away just in time for the ship to be getting ready to launch. Though D3 waws hired and her ship was loaded up, she had no assignment yet so she had no where to go, that's when the comm came back that She was to report to Holgi for medical interview so as luck would have it she was in exactly the place she needed to be!

She looked to Holgi as she got a little kiss on the top of her head making the D3 have a content look on her face and she gave a thumbs up back, the two also managed to work together to get text Holgi could actually read, and it didn't take D3 long to grasp the syntax and spelling ether so it was going to work out just fine, she updated her personal padd and turned it around for Holgi to read as the larger dragon was scanning her.

"Is there anything I can do to help? I have no permanent assignment on the ship yet till the captain gives me one so I can help out till then!" the message read as she stood still for the scan, which the scan would reveal that she was in fact rather healthy, at least by the scanners set standards, which Holgi hadn't calibrated quite yet, though she remembered Holgi seemed to be a fan of the tomatoes so she took out one and held it out to her "oh right I am not part of the crew so enjoy this Celebratory tomato!" the message on her padd read as she was quite content to help Holgi out with whatever work she needed to do for the time being.
