Jei got the message, "Copy Patrol, have a safe flight." He switched himself back to listening, becoming idle as he watched his information flow. His thoughts wandered around the console. He didn't feel like anything was about to go wrong, nor did he feel that everything was right either. The fake battle may have gotten to him, but he tried his best to put it behind him. He honestly felt that it wasn't his best, that he was slow on reaction times, and could have gotten the Soyokaze to ride out of that battle the victor.

He sighed and turned his head slightly to the left as if to say something before turning back forward again, giving a smirk to himself, and began reading the board again, watching the lights dance as the ship's systems tell him what he needed to know.

"Auto-pilot?", Yui asked in response to Shanota's suggestion, continuing to fly their craft at their own pace. It seemed they were wholly unfamiliar with the concept of an auto-pilot feature. "Where is the instruction manual?", Sally added, with the sound of her rifling through something audible over the connection.

Shanota could be heard sighing in a bit annoyance over the radio as Hot-cha's fighter eventually rounded around the sun towards the other side of it. Her hand was rubbing her forehead as she flew close to the I'ee, keeping pace with them. "You know, like having the AI fly for you for a short- look, just ease your fighter's throttle forward gently. It'll make flying and maneuvering the Hayabusa a lot smoother and we'll be able to reach our destination before my service contract ends."

"AI?", Sally repeated dumbly, beginning to regret volunteering to fly this fighter as much as Shanota resented it. Yui, however, took Shanota's advice and began to treat the controls with more care. Gradually, she managed to ease the fighter up to a much more tolerable speed, keeping pace with the other craft and now trying to catch up to them. "I believe I am getting used to this now...", Yui commented.

As the swarm of fighters made their sweep to peek around the dark side of the star; they started picking up returns on thier sensors of debris and vented gases. Even as they made the rotation on the orbit, the returns increased showing what had been a minor battlefield, or a massacre. The light from the star flickered and shined off of the rotating and tumbling debris.

The ship board sensors started picking up a very faint broadcast of a broken and choppy automated distress beacon.

As Shanota's fighter sped off to meet up with the rest of the fighter group, Hot-Cha and Kōmon tried to radioed over to the Soyokaze. "Patrol to Soyokaze, we got debris all over the place here, looks like some sort of skirmish of something... Too small to have been military action." The pilots began trying identify who got caught in the fight through the wreckage.

Shanota caught on to Hot-Cha's report before radioing the Soyokaze as she began making her pass around the star. "Patrol lead to Soyokaze, you sure you want to keep the ambassadors around for this? Could be bogeys hidden the wreckage."

Debris Field

Sally let out a whine from the back of the cockpit as the ship debris came into view, listening to Shanota's report. "It's like the graveyards at our home." Yui commented off-handedly, flying their craft to where the edge of the field roughly was before coming to a halt. "I'm not sure I can maneuver this field..." Yui said, tapping a claw on her left mandible, at a bit of a loss as to how she should proceed.

He heard the patrol speak, and checked his readout, "Copy patrol lead." He turned in his chair back towards the Captain. "Chusa, patrol reports a debris field, looks too small to be military..." He stopped to listen to the patrol's next message, "Patrol lead asks if we should recall the ambassadors. She fears there might be hostile ships hiding among the wreckage." He thought it would be a good idea to recall what he had deduced as the 'drunken fighter' from earlier to be ambassadors of some sort, though he relayed his message as if he knew. It was above his pay-grade to question it.
