RP: Yome Ismâopate [Mission 1.0] Whom fortune favors - Prologue

Jyaonruo'sa

The ship continued to move out into space, at Qaedal's orders the main screen was set to show the aft view. The massive structure known to them as home was shrinking constantly as the distance increased. The count down for the FTL charging was showing on the screen.

Qaedal turned to Memi, "So what do you think of the view Sâvyjo? Is this your first time off World Station?"

Wapoin Ruo'sa

Hewid's injury while not life threatening, definitely needed tending. There were a number of contaminants in the gash. Fortunately while wound was bleeding freely, the cut did not hit any significant blood vessels or nerves. It was a jagged cut so it would take care and patients to seal it properly.

La'tâ took note of the severity and if it was not too deep to cause a problem she applied some antiseptic. Then she took a moment to take note of his rank and sect, to see how important it was to get him back to his position quickly. While she processed that in her head however she double checked the contaminants in the wound and got the proper antibiotic and injected him with it. "That should keep you from getting an infection." She contemplated her strategy for a moment and then looked to Jaqsi. "I would like to use the handheld Fiqorous'sa Usapo'te along with Wapoin Nâma to treat his wound, Sasâvyjo'sa Yaobas."

"You may proceed." Responded the white furred Tuoro as she moved to a better position to watch the young Tula's performance.

La'tâ nodded and first applied the healing gel to the wound which would take a minute to start working, which gave her enough time to check the settings on the cellular stimulator. After verifying the settings she activated it and pointed it at Hewid's injury and soon the pain would vanish as the Tula then pressed the wound together with her fingers to minimize scarring in the healing process.

Jaqsi watched from a discrete distance as La'tâ tended to Hewid's injury. It was not a major injury, but it had served as an ideal opportunity for her to evaluate her new crew member. She walked over and took a closer look. "Well Bajao'a , my Wapoin'a has tended to your injury. You may return to you duties. Make sure that this time you follow proper procedures, otherwise your supervisor will be notified of you injury." she said.

Hewid rendered a quick curt nod, "I will be sure to wear my gloves Wapoin'asa. Thank you for your understanding." He said to Jaqsi. He then looked at La'tâ as he moved the hand experimentally. "You did good work. See you around." he said with a smile and left quickly.

"You did good work there La'tâ-sar. The next time we have a patient who needs similar treatment. You have permission to proceed without having to ask for authorization. I will from time to time show you how to perform certain tasks, then allow you to do them supervised. Once I am satisfied with your performance. I will give you authorization to do them."

"Yes Sir, never had a chance to..." Memi Continued recording the whole process, trying to get everything on camera. He was so excited over the prospect of traveling the stars. "Aways had to many classes and had to spend time in the record halls to get this chance."

The Qaedal smiled at what Memi said. "You sound just like my brother when it comes to books and such. Well, shortly you will see a sight that very few of our people have seen. Most of our people have never been to the Amaur colony. Those that have are living there now. Once we are through there we will move on to visiting other places that no pokuvonai has seen before. You will have plenty to record, and write about during your time aboard."

Suna could not believe how late he was. Having claimed the first available room he could find he was now in the process of dumping all of his luggage onto the floor and hastily arranging it into a neat pile. Once he was satisfied he turned to face the Anomu Wunyte preparing for the long walk to the bridge.

Jyaon Ruo'sa

Suna arrived at the end of the bridge, pausing for a moment as he let his instincts carry him into Nutarka. In the center of the room the Tin-Ta'a stood on the overwatch which was currently turned so he could talk to a Qaktoro holding a recording device. He walked over to stand in front of the Tin-Ta'a, closing his fists and crossing his arms over his chest as he bowed.

"Suna Kavi of House Mala'ta reporting for duty sir. I am sincerely sorry for my failure to arrive on time", Suna said.

Qaedal looked at Suna and then returned the salute. "Welcome aboard the Yome Ismâopate. You may as well stay here we are about to execute our first wormhole.." he turned to Toidorno. "Tin-To'a I want a section check prior to initiating the wormhole."

The light brown furred Qaktoro turned to face Qaeda, "Right away sar." He then activated the ship's intercom. "We are about to initiate wormhole. All sections report their status." he called out.

"Navigation - Ready, Piloting - Ready " came from two of the others on the bridge.

Wapoin Ruo'sa

Jaqsi looked up at hearing the Tin-To'a's voice. "Best secure all the medical gear. Be quick about it, we have about five minutes before they enge. We don't need anything flying about when we enter the tunnel." she said to La'tâ. She then pressed a button on her bracer, "Wapoin Ruo'sa - Ready."

Nyora'a Ruo'sa

Potos watched the status indicators as the Tinvyma Movidoanor completed charging. She crossed over and shunted secondary power over to the Anoka Udano. She smiled as the status indicators showed all was proceeding normally.

She looked over at Tos'feg. "Make sure you secure your work station before we enter the worm hole. You can finish your work on that board after we arrive." She activated the intercom, "Nyora'a Ruo'sa ready, Tinvyma Movidoanor fully charged, and Anoka Udano is ready to deploy on your command."

"thank you sir... I hope so, or it would be a waste of me leaving our home." Mime stood there recording the arrival of the new crew member. He almost missed the command to start the wormhole start up checks. He quickly snapped the recorder around to each station as it called out. it would make fore a great bit of drama in a documentary of the ship's first mission.

La'tâ listened to the Tin-To'a and then to Jaqsi befor starting to move and secure everything. Of course first was putting away the supplies she had just used securely. She was fast and thorough due to having good training as a retainer, but that was a skill she did not expect to carry over to her life on a starship. Once she had checked everything and then double checked she settled down to relax. "I hope no one hits their head during the first wormhole." She spoke up softly, a bit concerned.

Wapoin Ruo'sa

Jaqsi quickly finished her stocking as well and then secured the medical supply cabinets. She watched La'tâ finish her assigned task, then took her seat behind the work station. "You might want to bring your chair over by the desk or over by one of the struts. The first wormhole is usually a bit rough for new ships." she suggested.

Jyaon Ruo'sa

Qaedal listened as more reports came across the intercom. He had a good crew and did not need to interfere. That pleased him, because it meant his choices were good. He wondered what Memi would focus upon for the tunneling. "Memi-sar, Suna-sar I suggest that you take a position where you can hold onto something.

Wapoin Ruo'sa

La'tâ grabbed her luggage since she had not yet gotten settled into a cabin and took a chair as well settling down at the desk and sitting. "Jaqsi-sar, have you ever been on a starship or is this your first time?" She would usually only speak if spoken to, but La'tâ wanted to get to know more about her superior and to learn how she operates, unlike her job as a retainer, she would did not have the opportunity to observe her beforehand and get a grasp for what she wanted.

Wapoin Ruo'sa

Jaqsi smiled at La'tâ. "This is definitely not my first time. I was born on a starship La'tâ. My parents were Ytaqo'ai. Spent most of my childhood on ships with my parents; it gave me the opportunity to visit other worlds. Then at the age of 12 my parents insisted that I attend the local Academy. I didn't get to travel again until after my Baq'nor. Nothing like taking care of ship crew members to find yourself needed." she said with grin.

Wapoin Ruo'sa

La'tâ was a bit surprised to hear of Jaqsi's family background, she found a bit of similarity with herself, enjoying being with her parents doing their work as a child and even more so about enjoying the feeling of being needed. "Yes, I can agree. I myself came here in search of those who could use me while I await someone who seeks me as a retainer."

Wapoin Ruo'sa

"Well if you serve with distinction, you could have your own business and not have to be a retainer. Unless that is what you want. Of course you are young enough that you have time to decide." Jaqsi replied

Jyaon Ruo'sa

"The ship is ready Tin-Ta'a for tunneling. Awaiting your command." Toidorno said to the commander.

Qaedal looked around one last time. "Engage the Tinvyma Movidoanor, let's see how our fine ship likes to swim." he called out.

Tiodorno turned to the pilots, "You heard the Tin-Ta'a, engage the drive."

The ship's pilot entered the necessary commands and coordinates. "Drive engaged."

On the screen a series of beams appeared to project from the ship. The region of space where they intersected appeared to wrinkle. Then a moment later the space flared and the wormhole entrance appeared. A swirling vortex of blue lights. The pilot then activated the ship's plasma drive to bring the ship into the opening. Before the ship was close she activated the Anoka Udano. The field of gravitational protection formed around the ship. The opening grew larger on the main screen and then the ship lighting dimmed for just a moment a tradition from when the drives actually caused the lights to dim. The ship entered the vortex with a lurch causing anything loose to bounce upwards. A second later the ship emerged at the other end of the wormhole and back into normal space.

The view screen oriented itself and locked onto their destination. The colony world of Âmuar.

Nyora'a Ruo'sa

Potos looked at the work station where Tos'feg was testing the board. "That is a curious problem you have there. The circuits in the generator are not self-repairing so why do you think the fault went away after being connected to the work station?" she inquired.

Wapoin Ruo'sa

"My parents and most of my family are retainers. Being able to be of help to someone is a great pleasure." La'tâ paused a moment as she felt the entire ship jerk. She had a look of surprise on her face, enough though she knew that it was not going to be smooth and it was only momentary it still was more to feel it than to hear about it. "I suppose though that I do have limited experience in other things though."

Jyaon Ruo'sa

Qaedal looked around, "Well done people. Set a course for the colony. We'll land at the Sky Harbor." he said to XO. He looked at Suna, "Suna Kavi of House Mala'ta. come with me. I would have your oath on record." he said standing up. Then without waiting for an acknowledgement he exited the room and entered the Daho'ka Ruo'sa. He waited for newest crew member to follow.

He took a moment to look around the chamber, most of the screens were dark. Only a few of the screens that mirrored the bridge stations were illuminated. 'How long until we have to use this room for its true purpose' he wondered.

Wapoin Ruo'sa

Jaqsi smiled, "None of us know what the future holds. My advise to you my young Wapoin'a, don't settle for the status quo. If life gives you an opportunity to be more than you are now. Take it, better to try and fail at something that to reach your elder days and spend your time wondering, 'If only I had done this or that.' " she said with a grin. "But for now since we have come through the tunnel in one piece, I suggest you grab a medical kit and add whatever you think you might need. The Tin-Ta'a or the Tin-To'a are going to want to send you Sâvyjo out for a training run with some of the new equipment."

Wapoin Ruo'sa

La'tâ nodded softly to Jaqsi's advice and stood. "That does sound like a good idea. My parents would probably want me to to go as far as I could as well." At the second part she looked a bit confused but did begin gathering a basic first aid kit as well as a handheld medical scanner and a cellular stimulator before heading over to the drug cabinet. "Jaqsi-sar do you know what kind of training assignment if might be?" She grabbed some healing gel, stimulants, antibiotics and liquid air of life, because well they were in space and one mistake could easily lead to a low oxygen situation.

Mime Kept the recorder on the crew and their work, He could always get the sensor feeds later to add to the recordings. As the ship tunneled He gripped on tightly with his free hand, and felt a moment of discomfort, as if her was going to loose control of his guts.

With the colony now up on the main screen, he turned the recorder to Qaedal "Congratulations on the ship's first Tunneling, Sir."

Jaqsi looked from her tablet, "Well, we have a lot of new Sâvyjo on board, and there is a bunch of new eqwipment. The Tin-Ta'a is going to use the wilderness of the colony for a training area. There have been occasional reports of Siama'bu Soujo in some of the more remote areas. He will probably have you folks dropped off in some of the new Stako Yanuto. "

Jyaon Ruo'sa

"Well at least we came out the proper way. I've heard of some ships coming out backward or sideways from their first tunneling. So congratulations to all hands. " Qaedal replied.

Wapoin Ruo'sa

La'tâ paused a moment at hearing what they might encounter and then began taking a bit more healing gel and pain medication. "Then live combat is a possibility...I will see to it that everyone returns in good condition." Once she's gotten everything she thinks she'll need in the kit she closes it. "My scores with a Stako Yanuto are not exactly desirable however."
