RP: YSS Eucharis [Mission 11.3] Back Into Chaos

Engineering

While the Eucharis had cast off, Junko had made her way to her new cabin assignment, the number four unit. She had worried briefly about sharing it with a male soldier, and one she hadn't met at that, but there had been no sense worrying until she had actually met him and so she simply deposited her duffel and set out again.

Now, waiting just outside the hatch to the Mainspace, she spent a moment indulging her apprehensions with a little preening of her uniform, but there really was nothing for it but to get right to work. She entered the familiar compartment and immediately felt at ease. The sounds, smells, minute vibrations in the deck plating; all were distinct to the Eucharis and all were just as she had remembered. So too were her fellow crew-members, already at their posts working.

Thinking to formally report in, she began walking toward the Chusa. Glancing at a diagnostics repeater as she passed, she noted the problem with the quantum mirror system. She felt a smug little smirk inside, the reaction of a shipboard engineer whose suspicion that all yardworkers were inferior was proven right once again, even if she might rationally have admitted it wasn't their fault.

Making sure no trace of that smirk showed on her face, she came to a halt near the Chusa and bowed, but refrained from her verbal report for the moment so as to avoid interrupting Takeyu.

I think we know where Kiko and Michael are now, Wes

"She seems like a nice person, and you asked her nicely. So I think that she'll be happy to join us, Kiko." Michael smiled, looking back over the deactivated armors. "Hey, Kiko, maybe you'll get upgraded to an MCAS armor after this mission if we do well."

Engineering

"...I'll have the Fabrication Area produce some new quantum mirrors. It's not like the ingredients to make them are exceedingly rare, nor the process to assemble them greatly complex." Yaichiro said, nodding to Takeda as he sent the order to the Fabrication Area. He also sent Hanako a quick text:

Code:
Engineering all green save for Quantum Mirrors not being replaced, we're having the Fabrication Area construct new ones.

"And Nayacesen-Heisho, you're right to be suspicious. A CFS collision like the one we had mission before last is an exceedingly rare event -- the odds of it simply happening even in a heavily trafficked spacelane approach infinitesimal, and the speed of our detection and their retaliation last mission was also suspicious. The Taisa is aware of this...just keep your eyes peeled, your wits about you, and note what seems out of place. That's all we can really do at the moment."

Engineering

Takeyu nodded, took a quick look back at his diagnostic information, then asked. "Did you want me to replace the mirrors once their fabrication is completed Chusa?"

Engineering

With everything else working and there being evidently little else that she could do, Junko decided to interrupt after all, if politely. “Sir, I could assist the Heisho with that.”

Engineering

"...Hai, it should be done as quickly as possible. They should be very quick to swap out. Hopefully you'll be finished by the time we arrive at our destination." Yaichiro said, the Fabrication Area already starting to make the devices.

Power Armor Bay

Mikael walked into the newly repaired Bay slowly when he realized just how unnaturally clean the place felt to him. He stood a few feet away from the now closing bay door for a few moments before he started to looked for his new power armor.

"What all was replenished?" Mikael asked when he saw Kiko and Michael.

Power Armor Bay

Kiko turned toward Mikael and bowed. "There appear to be enough armors for the entire crew, but there is a shortage of accessories."

YSS Eucharis, Armor Bay

"And by that she means that all we have are teleportation packs. Albeit, the Taisa's Mindy seems to be fully stocked and kitted out." Michael added in, looking over his MCAS.

"...It could use some red, don't you think?"

YSS Eucharis

The Taisa paused for a second as she got a transmission from Yui. "This is the captain speaking," Hanako came over the ship's intercom. "The First Expeditionary Fleet command and operations group have been assigned to the rescue operation for the recent battle of Mitsuya. We will be going to Lor instead, with two other squadrons. We will attempt to make contact. If we encounter hostility, we will leave. Our task is to investigate, not to get into fights. Set condition two and prepare for space fold."

Engineering

Yaichiro nodded, acknowledging this and checking...everything was ready to go. Perhaps this was why the Eucharis got the shabby external appearance from the repairs? Not for lack of paint, but more to appear humble to the Lorath? If so, the tactic might work out if Hanako played it right. He sent a text to Hanako after double-checking the status of the Fold system...

Code:
This is Engineering, signaling readiness for fold.

In reality, part of him was sad they weren't going to Mitsuya. He felt as if he had to go back there to try and atone for the misuse of his technology, or at least help those who'd been left behind because of its use by the enemy...even knowing the odds.

Sune had returned to looking at his station screens when Hanako made her announcement across the intercom. He whirled around in his seat. "Lor?....." he said in pure reflex. He then waited for the Taisa to finish her statement.

"Taisa.... " he started and then got up from his station and crossed over to where the golden eyed Neko sat.

In a low voice he stated, "Ma'am is going to Lor really advisable. Our recent encounter with them clearly demonstrated that they still harbor a great deal of anger and hatred for you. And after that encounter were you snatched Klein-Shosa from their grasp they are likely to be even more irate.

The ship we encountered will surely have reported back to their homeworld about the encounter. As soon as they see our ship, their response will be predictable and hostile. They will attach this ship with all force they can muster to get to you and the Shosa."

"Red is not a very pract-" Kiko started, only to be interrupted by the announcement, which she listened to attentively. "It appears that we are hoping to avoid combat more than we normally do. Excuse me, I should make another backup." She bowed and started walking over to Medical.

Michael was about to respond to Kiko, but felt that replying to the Taisa was more important, even if the sanity of her orders was a bit suspect. Not that he was complaining, oh no. Michael held no love for those filthy steroid-pumped whores in the Matriarchy. The fact that they shared similar physical traits (Read: Wings) to his people only gave Elysians a bad name. As the Elysian moved to walk alongside Kiko, he sent a text message to the bridge.

Code:
Bridge, this is Papadopoulos-Hei. Armor Bay is fully functional, with all equipment accounted for. Along with Inoue-Hei, I will be making a mental backup in the medical bay. Papdopoulos, out.

It did not take more than a few moments before Helen had finished what she was doing, and made her way to the bridge when she heard the announcement of their mission plans. She was going to be needed for this one, after all, she was the only one of the crew aside from Yaichiro which had any knowledge of the Lorath Matriarchy first-hand... well... aside from being pitted head-to-head against them.

Upon her arrival on the bridge, Helen gave a short bow to Hanako, while carrying an expression in her gaze which seemed to indicate she had something to say, though, she waited for Sune to finish speaking with the Taisa.

Engineering

Takeyu glanced up at the ceiling. "Ok," he said simply and turned in his chair as he brought up the status screen for the fold-drive. "Monitoring drive," he said and glanced off to his left at Kumiko before turning his attention back to the status. He then got up and grabbed an AMES, and passed one to Kumiko, Yaichiro and Takeda, before putting his on and returning to his station.

Kumiko got her business on the computer together so she didn't need to be watching for a moment, they stepped aside, pulling on the AMES suit Takeyu handed her. "Thanks, Takeyu-san." She quickly got back to work, trying to keep track of how the incompletely repaired ship was handling. She pulled up the weapons systems, definitely wanting to be sure those were working right, regardless of their 'friendly' intentions.

Engineering

Junko gave a murmur of, “thanks,” too as she accepted the AMES from Takeyu before taking it behind a convenient piece of a equipment for a little privacy while she pulled it on, unnecessary though it was. She stepped back out a moment later and worked her way over to her own station. There, she pulled up repeaters of both the main systems display and the more detailed monitoring screen for power distribution and relays. She half hoped something – minor, of course – would go wrong and give her an excuse to head up to Power Systems. The warm, cramped compartment was one of her favorites on the ship, despite the many times she'd ended up on her butt there from tugging too hard at some piece of recalcitrant cabling.

Bridge

Having voiced his concerns as his position required Sune crossed the bridge to take out an AMES. He set about to putting it on, removing his gun belt and other accoutrements. He pulled on the AMES and attached his gun belt on the outside of the suit and adjusted it. He then took out a second suit and brought it over to Hanako. He then returned to his station and placed his helmet next to it. He double checked the sensors, their flight path appeared clear for as far as he could scan. He noticed other gunships forming up on the Second Squadron.

"We are clear of Chiharu control and maneuvering beyond the gravity well of Ronica, Taisa. Engineering reports ready to fold at your command." he called out.

Power Armor Bay

Mikael raised his right eyebrow at what Kill and Michael said. He didn't know which he more disturbing: the complete lack of armaments or that Michael wanted his armor to stand out in red. He shook his head and went back to looking for his armor. And he eventually did, tucked in a storage rack towards the rear.

Just as he was about to check out it's system he heard the Taisa's announcement."Like we are going to avoid conflict there.." he said under his breath, as he headed quickly to his cabin to put on his AMES suit.
