RP: YSS Eucharis [Mission 12.3] Red Snow

[Wes]

While the fire the away team was pouring into the NMX horde didn't destroy them all, it did create enough destruction/distraction that somehow the cart wasn't blown up by them. Then, Helen fired anti-matter round and they were basking in deadly radiation. Hanako wondered if it would mean having to get a new body like Miles did back on Sakura.

The persuing Rippers were spraying the team down with aether blasts and most everyone was hit somewhere but none of them were killed so far. Finally the cart approached the hole in the ceiling where they could get out to the tank. As Hanako grabbed Frigga and leapt up into the hole, a huge missile managed to get through and explode the cart, sending a wave of fire right behind the armor team as they navigated the ice cave.

Up on the surface the icy hole began belching fire as the away team began to emerge. Hanako ran to the tank. "Armundo! Call Yaichiro and tell him we need immediate pickup by the ship!"

Suddenly there was a series loud boom. The Taisa turned to see not far away the TASHA getting into a fight with two NMX "Ravager" mecha and some Flayer tankettes.

"The sooner the better!" Hanako added. "Everyone take up defensive positions!"

 

[Nashoba]

Sune was unsure what had delayed Helen but he was grateful for the additional firepower. Until she launched an anti-matter round in the confines of the caves. He had a fraction of a second to change his position and engage his second forearm shield to protect Hanako. The shock wave of debris was bad enough, but the radiation burst was more problematic. Even in his armor he received a significant dose. However, his more immediate concern was staying alive to worry about the exposure.

Following the Taisa up the tube Sune was confronted with his worse fear made manifest. The Away Team vehicles had been located and the enemy was engaging them.

Once again they were in a bad position and outnumbered, they had a tank and the TASHA, but there were easily twice that many hostile armored vehicles.

Sune made his way to the edge of the mouth of the cave and dropped to a knee to make use of the natural stone cover. He then cycled both of his forearm weapons to beam mode. After the prerequisite two second delay he fired both at the back of one of the Rippers.

 

[Kyle]

Takeyu ducked when Helen fired, and saw the resulting explosion in the backend. He didn't waste time and instead kept up a volume of fire while he stayed behind the Taisa and provided her cover.

When he was outside, he dove behind a rock formation for a moment to check his systems then brought up his forearm shield while using his other arm to fire off aetheric shots into the cave. He could hear the explosion 'outside' and that worried him, but his immediate concern however were the rippers that were trying to kill them.

 

[Gabriel]

Ramiro rolled his eyes at the Neko a little bit. It was when she started sobbing that he began to feel sorry for her. He shook his head to himself before sitting down next to her and putting an arm around her. "Sometimes that's just the way of things, you win some you lose some. Now the question is will you help us gain vengeance against the squiddies? There is probably much you can do for us, and your help would be greatly appreciated."

It was then that he heard the booms. He ran to the weapons station and rotated the main weapon towards the the direction that the away team left. He saw the Taisa first, followed by the others, and then the NMX. He began targeting whatever seemed to pose the largest threat to the Taisa and began firing. "Taisa, I will provide what cover fire I can. You're my priority, I need you safe inside the Troll."

 

[Wes]

Hanako fired a few shot more and then reluctantly got inside the tank, switching the shield just in time. Explosions blossomed on the shield as Hanako got the tank moving toward the ship, firing off smoke to help conceal the armor team, which was starting to get pummeled.

 

[Nashoba]

"Away Team to Eucharis, we need assistance and evac ASAP. We have multiple injured including the Taisa. We have two Rippers and several NMX tanks. Coordinates to follow... ###.##.## ###.##.##" Sune sent as the tank started moving out.

Since they were a more open space, Sune activated his Ke-M2-W2905. He fired a three round burst at the closest Ripper followed up by his Forearm cannons in SMG.

 

[Kyle]

Takeyu kept up with the tank then moved down into a crouch and spun around, he aimed his left forearm weapon in beam mode and fired and then quickly switched to his right fore arm and fired it as well in beam mode toward the closest ripper in the chest. Then he got back up, spun around and kept after the tank while glancing over his shoulder and firing.

Checking his systems, he scowled when he saw that there were no fighter squadrons available, as the first XF was gone.

 

[Wes]

In the chaos, the TASHA was finally destroyed by the two incredibly well-armed Ravager mecha, and the tank lost its shields to the increasing numbers of enemy forces. Just when it seemed the were doomed, the Eucharis arrived, hovering over the tank and clearing the area in a devastating rain of golden fire with its anti-armor cannons.

Once their attackers were obliterated, the ship lowered her landing gear and set down on the snowy terrain with the rear cargo ramp slowly coming down. Hanako drove the battered tank into the bay and got out to find Blueberry ready with a grav gurney for Armundo.

 

[Nashoba]

Sune walked up into the Eucharis a bit unstable. His power armor was not operating at peak efficiency the hits from the enemy had damaged several systems that would need repair before his next sorte.

He was also perspiring heavily, Unless there is a problem with the suit environmental system, I must be running a fever. Probably the result of the radiation burst underground. He thought. Once in the ship he cracked open his suit helmet and walked to the armor bay to secure his PA.

Once his armor was locked into the rack, he cycled it open. and stepped out. He opened the butt pack and withdrew his belt with his standard accoutrements. He secured the ordinance that he had into the armory. Then made his way to the medical bay. His coordination was definitely off as it took a couple of tries to secure the LASR.

"Good thing the medbay is close." he muttered to himself, and returned to the armor bay and took the passage into the medbay.

 

[Toshiro]

Yaichiro monitored the boarding of the assorted personnel, trying to see who made it aboard, while keeping an eye open for enemy re-enforcements. Significant progress had been made in the field repairs, and the Eucharis wasn't particularly pretty with the hull patching on top of the existing multi-color paint, but she was operable. Yaichiro sent out a text to those assembled, asking to be informed of any casualties so they wouldn't be waiting needlessly on personnel who weren't coming, or could move to a second pickup site if needed.

 

[Firebrand]

YSS Eucharis, Medical Bay

Already inside the Eucharis' Medical bay, submerged in hemosynth fluid with his legs slowly regrowing, was Michael. The Elysian looked up, and waved at the members of the away team as they came into the med bay.

"I don't suppose my friends the twin ravagers sneaked up on you, did they?"

 

[Kyle]

Takeyu let out a sigh of relief, gripping the side of the tank with a free hand while he used the other to clip his rifle to his side before taking off his helmet. His head was throbbing, and the adrinaline rush that had been going through his veins was starting to settle down.

He made his way his way into the PA Bay, bringing his armor over to the rack and disengaging its systems before getting out of the armor. He then placed the rifle back into the armor, and stood there for a moment, contemplating the days events before walking over to the tank's rear-side hatch and glancing out the ramp before turning his attention to the tank.

"Need any assistance Taisa?" Takeyu asked guiltingly. He ignored his own throbbing headache, more than likely caused by the radiation burst and was more concerned with helping his fellow crewmen than his own life right now.

 

[Wes]

Cargo Bay

Hanako stumbled forward and dropped to her knees near the side of the cargo bay. "I need a bucket or something...I think I am going to be sick," she weakly told Takeyu.

 

[Kyle]

Takeyu looked up and around the room, quickly running over to a crate that had nothing more than a few small metal pipes and clipboard in it. He then ran back over and placed it under the Taisa, so that if she threw up it'd be going into the crate and not on the floor.

"We'd better get you to medical ma'am," said a worried Takeyu as he knelt down and offered her a shoulder. "There's no telling what other damage the little bastard did to you."

 

[Khasidel]

Cargo Bay

Reika's armor's shields were completely off-line and several systems were malfunctioning due to direct damage -- namely her sensor array was on the fritz, her inertial redirection system was down, and her left knee joint had taken a hit by one of the Ravager's prior to their destruction. The internal musculature of the suit was damaged as well as Reika's actual leg. The SAINT operative was left having to limp into the Eucharis' cargo bay when the ship set down.

"Damn it.." she said, as the Neko finally managed to get the whole way inside. She mentally instructed the suit to open, and it complied -- though due to structural damage it took a few moments longer to creak open than normal. Wincing, Reika suppressed the groan that almost escaped her throat as the pain in her leg flared up due to her wound now being exposed in the frigid air.

Clenching her teeth, Reika moved to open the butt-pack of her armor and removed the pressure dressing from the survival pack. She wrapped the wound -- whilst painful, her injury was not immediately life-threatening. The injuries of many other crew members would be higher on Sune's list of priorities, so Reika would just have to settle for her own make-shift first aid treatment for the time being -- or else wait until her own internal hemosynthetic healing ability restored her leg. Once satisfied that the bandage was properly in place she stood, and limped after Takeyu and Hanako towards the Medical Bay.

 

[Nashoba]

Medical Bay

Sune did not immediately respond to Micheal's question because he had a more immediate matter. He staggered over to the basin and proceeded to throw up. What came up was dark reddish brown and had the consistency of coffee grounds. Definitely not good, bleeding in the stomach. standing upright he turned on the water to clean the sink and cleaned up himself.

He walked over to the cabinet where the scrubs were stored and pulled one out. As he donned it, it looked at Michael, "Actually believe they invited a bunch of their friends to the party. We have a number of casualties as a result of the encounter." He then turned and grabbed a PMS-1 and pressed the hypospray to his neck. Once done he set his Uno Sunglasses so he could monitor his own condition while dealing with the injured.

 

[Wes]

The ship lifted up and headed for space. Not wanting to mess up the ship Hanako went back to the cargo ramp and got sick, leading over the side as the icy land below grew more distant. She crawled back into the bay and pressed the button to raise the ramp before heading to the cargo elevator and riding it up to the medical lab level.

Medical Lab

With Takeyu's help, Hanako weakly made her way into the medical lab. "I think we got radiation poisoning," she told Blueberry.

"Go ahead and get undressed while I get some hemosynth ready," Blueberry told Hanako. "If we want to save that body we will have to repair it from the inside."

"Can you help me?" Hanako asked Takeyu.

 

[Kyle]

Takeyu watched Hanako for a moment, then helped her to medical when she was done bringing up the ramp. While he went with her, he saw some of the patchwork done on the ship and smiled weakly, though once he was done being treated it would be right back to working on the ship.

Medical

In the medical lab, Takeyu's eyes fell upon their resident Elysian who was in a tank freefloating, he didn't give the Elysian a mind and when he heard Blueberry he gave just a nod of the head.

At Hanako's question, Takeyu replied simply with. "Of course," and helped her with whatever she needed assistance with.

 

[Wes]

Once the ship was back in orbit, she continually bombarded the location of the Nekovalkyrja cloning center with the main weapon array and the the anti-starship guns until there was no chance any part of it has survived.
