Re: [Mission 13] Ghost Towns

Engineering

Takeyu kept his eyes on the power levels and damage screens, he was making small fine tuned adjustments to keep power flow regular and stable, nothing to fancy. Though at the same time, he was also progressing through a program he was writing to make jobs like these much easier.

Multitasking the job at hand, on one screen was the reactor, which he saw out of the cornor of his right eye. The second screen had a variable degree of different power statuses, with bars moving up and down every so often in response to the ships actions. Everything appeared stable, nothing looked out of the ordinary, then again, Takeyu knew that was bound to change.

When he heard the collission alarm, he gripped the edge of his console tightly.

Re: [Mission 13] Ghost Towns

Bridge

Reika thanked Ramiro for the advice, before proceeding to follow the suggestion of the more experienced starship operator. After a few moments the point defenses under her control were grouped together in preparation for the enemies attack.

When the NMX torpedoes began to close in, Reika instructed those turrets closet to prioritize the incoming projectiles. The turrets then began to fire automatically once the warheads passed within range of their firing arcs.

Unfortunately, one of the torpedoes managed to breach the hail of defensive weapons fire, causing Sune to call out a warning through the ships comms system. Though her chair harness was already properly fitted, Reika found herself gripping the bridge console, bracing for the torpedoes impact and resulting explosion.

Re: [Mission 13] Ghost Towns

Bridge

The torpedo detonated just short of the Eucharis' shields, most of the destructive force was stopped by the shields, but the force slammed the ship sideways, and caused minor damage to the gunship. Sune monitored the ship systems and when two faults appeared he routed the display to engineering.

"To electrical issues detected ShΓ΄shΓ΄, Engineering has been advised." He called out.

Re: [Mission 13] Ghost Towns

Engineering

Takeyu stared at the damage display and the information being relayed to him from the bridge, he was already hard at work trying to identify what the electrical hazard was in the crew cabin. "Crew cabin 4."

Typing away commands on his terminal, he rerouted power away from Cabin 4, which had the first of the two electrical hazards though it meant cabin four would have no power - he saw that no one was assigned to it.

His next problem was the aft area of the ship, he looked into the electrical hazard there and saw there what might've been causing the issue was possibly a blown power relay but he couldn't be certain. Just in case, he routed power away from the small damaged area. "Cherry-heisho? I need you to repair damage the aft of the ship, located in the storage bay. Becareful though, while I've routed damage away from the area, there's no telling whether the diagnostic is truly giving me correct information. Right now, it seems to be a blown power relay system."

Hanako gripped her seat tightly as the ship was rocked by explosions outside. As the ship moved closer to fold range, those on the bridge could hear the traffic between their fleet and the Lorath.

"We are loaded down with evacuated civilians," Yui told the General Heartbreak. "We are not in a position to fight presently. Lorath forces should leave this system immediately. Save your ships for defending your homeworlds. You are too badly outnumbered here to win, and with the people evacuated already, the system is not worth fighting over."

"Lay in a course for the Virginia System and commence space fold," Hanako ordered.

"I'm on it. It should not take long," Cherry responded. "I can access the systems from the maintenance tunnels."

Re: [Mission 13] Ghost Towns

Helen, at that point, was fairly sure she was not needed in her Kylie any further as she stripped out of the machine, and went about switching into an environmental suit for the purpose of conforming to alert regulations. Once changed, she made her way to the bridge, where she silently listened and observed. She did not have a post to man, after all. As Helen listened, she heard the voice of the Taisho, and the Lorath general, both voices she was quite familiar with.

"Doubt they'll surrender the territory, it is not like them to grant a foothold like that." Helen mused out loud, as she listened to the communication line.

-----

That same Lorath voice which belonged to the General continued "Your concerns are acknowledged. We will cover your retreat. At this time, we advise that the Leo Star Fortress be moved to the Asura system. Current intelligence indicates our forces have held the line there, and have control of the system. Our TX-01 units will aid in covering the station while in transit." There was a pause, before the voice continued; "This system will be vacated, and material assets disposed of. Our diplomats shall resume this conversation I would assume. For the meantime, good luck on your retreat."

As the last Lorath transport ships ascended from the surface of Jiyuu with full loads of evacuees, a formation of Hawk Fighter-Bombers, Zahl-Class ships, and a pair of Amaterasu-Class cruisers took position over the equator line of the planet. They moved swiftly, as ordinance left their weapon bays, and made the plunge through atmosphere. Sensors and maps would be enough to determine that the Lorath ships were firing on former Peacekeeper and UOC government buildings with ordinance, that upon impact, could easily be seen from space.

Once the ordinance was launched and detonated on target, the Lorath Self Defense Force group began to peel away out of the system, and on their egress, they repeated the same steps, performing 'asset removal' on other worlds which had possibly vital equipment, intelligence, or supplies which they did not desire for the NMX to have available. Though, even as a sizable portion of the ships departed, a number lingered and moved out of the system shortly behind the Yamataian fleet in a defensive formation to cover their egress.

Re: [Mission 13] Ghost Towns

"Aye Shosho, setting course." Ramiro quickly pulled up the space map and began plotting courses, but no matter where the ship went they would have to brief through hostile territory. Deciding upon what he though to be the best route, he plotted it along with a slightly safer alternative. He then prepped the hyperspace drive for fold.

"Shosho, fold drive readying, course set to relay past HX-6 and connect with the spacelane at Veronica to take us to Virginia. However, that movement will bring us past NMX forces near the south of the Former UOC Territory so as an alternative I've plotted a secondary course that should be safer, but a little longer. The secondary course will connect us to the 5XF Spacelane just past E5 which we would take until 20LY, follow the 20LY curve to Hanako's Spacelane and then take the spacelane through Sakura's Gap and down to Virginia."

Engineering

"Thanks Heisho," Takeyu said as he watched Cherry leave engineering to take care of her assigned task, he then turned his attention back to his displays to monitor the ships levels.

Code:
Also Cherry-Heisho, when your done with the aft, can you inspect cabin four for electrical damage and repair the conduit there?

Cabin 4 will remain offline until I can get someone to repair it, he thought casually to himself while routing more power around damages areas of the ship to help prevent any further problems, then he sent the damage repair updates to Sune, making note that Cabin 4 would be repaired as soon as possible, but that the aft relay was a priority.

While he did this he glanced off at the vacant terminals and sighed somewhat disappintedly to himself. With a ship this size, we need at least an additional technician for cases like this.

Re: [Mission 13] Ghost Towns

Sune had been jostled in his seat, but at least this time he was not slammed into the console. Overall the Eucharis was doing well.

"Valencia-Heisho, once we reach fold coordinates engage. I recommend we take the course that will take us through Veronica. Its a 2XF protected area, so if we need to we can always transfer our 'guests' to Chiharu Star Fortress." Sune called out.

Re: [Mission 13] Ghost Towns

Eucharis Bridge

The harness of her chair dug painfully into her torso as her body was jostled by the powerful blast-wave of the NMX torpedo impacting the Eucharis' defense field. Reika ignored the discomfort, focusing on the sensor feed and the progress of the closing enemy 'pods, which were now within range of the point defenses under her control. The turrets swiveled and opened fire, releasing golden bolts of energy towards the tiny combat craft.

"At least with so many targets to chose from, its hard to miss..." the operative muttered to herself jokingly. She didn't like the idea of running from the fight, but the tactical situation was definitely not in the Star Army's favor.

Re: [Mission 13] Ghost Towns

"Aye sir!" Ramiro called out as he input the primary route. "Course set and locked. Approaching fold point." Ramiro double checked that everything was proper with his chosen route and with the drive preparation before engaging the drive. "Engaging hyperspace fold."
