The response team rushed into the medical lab to find the Mishhuvurthyar patching its wounds up while Hakujou silently hid in the office. The team opened fire, shooting hundreds of rounds until the Mishhuvurthyar was definitely dead.

Afterward, one of the armored soldiers grabbed a medical kit and went to Akemi and helped stop her bleeding until a medic could arrive. Then they all teleported back to their own ship.

The ship trailed plumes of smoke as it fell further into the atmosphere, an orange glow beginning to appear on its underside.

He failed. Takeyu bit hard into his lip and he could taste blood, he didn't stop working however to try and do whatever he could to save the ship. Without engines, however, they had no thrust or ability to move.

Rerouting power wasn't doing much good now. "Shosho, both engines have been destroyed. I'm sorry, I tried to prevent the zombiefied Pineapple from destroying the engine by sealing up the bay but I wasn't fast enough," he said in a message to the Shosho.

Cursing a bit to himself he put his mind to the matter at hand, there really wasn't much else he could do except get ready to set the reactor into lockdown so, if the ship 'did' hit the ground, it wouldn't explode.

His displays were all filled with damage reports and warning sirens blared in his ears. Other volumetric displays began to appear, warning him of more problems. "Cherry-heisho? You hear me?" he shouted over the blaring alarms, he hadn't heard from the Heisho in awhile.

Then it occured to him. "Wait a minute," he said as he accessed the systems and located the anti-gravity system typically used for hovering over the planet. He began to type away, and started to bring the system online.

"Shosho, I'm bringing the anti-gravity system online, it might be able to slow us down a bit but I don't know how much damage the system has sustained," he said as he went to work, sweat was beading down his face as he worked.

Akemi thanked the unknown soldier as she tended to her. When Blueberry switched with her she did the same. "Thank you very much Chui, but I don't think you should be wasting your time on me."

Eucharis - Between Bridge and Armor Bay

As soon as she was given permission, Helen had left the bridge and made her way to the armor bay. Unfortunately, the sheer process of going through the interior of the battered ship was a chore in itself, enough of one to result in Helen being late for the party, so to speak. Her link with the Eucharis' computer told her all she needed to know, and it left her to continue to the armor bay. She needed to get to a power armor, that much was absolutely clear. If the ship was indeed plummeting through atmosphere, it was not entirely wise to be without a layer of protection. There was also the simple fact that she could do her job just as well from inside of a power armor, linked to an AIES.

Once inside of the power armor bay, Helen surveyed her surroundings for any 'surprises' which may have been left behind by the boarder, with a quick survey complete, she approached her Kylie and looked it over, to ensure that it was intact, and not damaged or tampered with, before she would go about squirming into the armor to link up with the AIES, and resume her job of surveying the battlefield for any points of interest, or, to give any vital suggestions to Hanako and the crew.

Bridge

"Ramiro, try to steady us out so we can glide in smoothly. If you do it right we can come in softly at Kyoto spaceport," Hanako suggested.

Engineering

Cherry crawled out of the fiery maintenance tunnels. "It doesn't look good," she informed Takeyu.

Armor Bay

Blueberry gave Akemi an IV bag full of replacement blood to help her heal and get back on her feet. "Hang in there! There is no way I am losing you on your first day!" she smiled reassuringly.

"Thank you. You're very kind." Akemi answered Blueberry's smile with a bright one of her own, thinking it appropriate and another way to show her gratitude. Akemi was glad that she and Takeyu seemed to be pleasant people. "I want to get back up and help as soon as I can."

Sune watched the status board reflect the trauma's the Eucharis was suffering from within. The internal cameras were showing the tragedy.

"Shôshô, might I say that attempting to land at Kyoto is not a good idea. Both pylons have sustained major trauma, we have no propulsive power. Trying to land at Kyoto we represent a risk to the the citizens and a small fraction of an error, we will slam into a building or into one of the star port structures.

We would be better served putting the ship on a straight course towards either the plains or the ocean. And then hit the escape pods once we know she's on final. We can salvage her after the battle and repair if possible."

Bridge

Shôshô Hanako frowned. "I think the anti-gravity is starting to slow us down, but just in case, we will aim for a water landing just off the beach East of Kyoto. We can evacuate to the shuttles, too. I am also contacting the other squadron ships to see if one can get close to us with a graviton beam but it is unlikely with all the debris falling around here."

Armor Bay

Victory and Blueberry helped Akemi into one of the smaller shuttles and then began dragging power armor into the larger one as quickly as possible, starting will all the teleporter units so they would not be lost. Soon, Mango and Lime arrived to help, too.

Hakujou sorta sneaked into the hanger, and by sorta sneaked she was running for damn near her life, a field medical kit tucked under their arm as she dashed across the hanger floor, aiming for the open shuttle that housed Akemi and the armors.

Hoping over one, she landed near the injured soldier and smiled at her. "Hi there, EmergencymedicaltechnicianHakujouHakushigladtomeetyoutoo. Now let me look at your injuries." She said in such a fast ramble that it almost sounded like one long mishmash of nonsense. After a second for visual assessment, Hakujou opened the medical kit and started to do her job.

Power Armor Bay

There was a soft sigh inside of the lone Kylie, as Helen mulled over just what to do to help the situation, but in truth, there was really nothing to be done. Most of her belongings had been moved off the ship prior to their hasty departure during the parasite infestation, even most of the kit that she had brought aboard from the YC-28 had been moved off. She was nestled in the single most important item to her on board, so, that left her to ask a simple question.

"Helen to Shosho, are there any last minute clean up tasks required of me before splash-down? Otherwise, requesting permission to launch, I will escort the ship down." She spoke, as she gathered up the PA equipment she had brought with her, and loaded her machine out with it. Sure, it was a heavy load-out, but she was not intending to go too far, or get into anywhere cramped.

Engineering

"Just how bad are we talking about? Other than what these displays are telling me," Takeyu said and gestured at the various volumetric displays that were blinking red, all the while monitoring the anti-grav system very closely.

Sune was watching the system monitors, and could feel the gunship shuddering as it continued its downward course with increasing velocity. "Hull temperature at 1,000 c and climbing. Still within design tolerances.... "
One of the displays started showing a different kind of warning.

"Proximity warning.... Shôshô we have several pieces of debris headed our way... the first one we're clear... but the second one projections show a direct hit, advise an immediate course change to starboard...." Sune called out.

Ramiro worked as best he could, trying to stabilize the ship while making sure that he wasn't going to lose control of it. Sweat could be seen dripping from his nose as he angled the the ship towards the water. Once he heard the call regarding the debris he rotated towards the volumetric window that contained the weapon commands. "I can use whatever quad and dual cannons are online to shoot at the debris." With a sigh he shook his head, realizing that everyone was in danger while on the ship. "Shosho, you're not going to like what I'm about to say, but I honestly believe that you and the crew are in danger on this ship. I request, for my own personal sanity and for the safety of the crew, that yourself and the rest of the crew evacuate via the shuttles while I stay behind and ensure the the ship make it down safely."

Engineering

Cherry removed her helmet and wiped off her forehead. "The pylon's a mess. We have anti-matter generators online and I think we could get the smaller aux engines back online but the big ones are all messed up from being shot. They need total replacement. There's fires in the maintenance tunnels again, too."

Bridge

"I have to agree, but I am giving you a direct order: do not lose the ship, Ramiro!" She grabbed the intercom. "All heads abandon ship!" She turned back to Ramiro. "We will be back!"

With that, Hanako put her helmet on, grabbed her coat and hat, and gave Sune a pat on the shoulder as she left the bridge and expeditiously made her way to the shuttle bay.

Beach Area, Yamatai

Two of the shuttles left the Eucharis, containing all the sprite nekos and most of the crew. The last one was left behind for Ramiro anyone remaining.

On the beach below nearby, the burning wreckage of an NMX landing ship could be seen. There were a couple of NMX ground vehicles and neko soldiers emerging from the front have of the ship while the back end billowed with black smoke. Hanako found her power armor in the back of the large T7 shuttle and stripped out of her uniform to put it on.

Ramiro found the descent was continuing to slow and the ship was starting to level off more. As it did, the ship was pelted with debris, which didn't do a lot damage but gave the ship some jolts. The large piece plunged into the water. The ocean still was coming up a bit faster than Ramiro would have liked.

"Then we should see to-" started Takeyu he heard the evacuation order, but then glanced at the red blinking displays and tapped his headset to talk directly to the Shosho.

"Shosho? With your permission I'd like to stay behind, there is a lot of damage to the ship but I'm worried that if the anti-grav system isn't monitored constantly and the problems that keep cropping up aren't handled quickly, it could fail and we may end up losing the ship. Also once the ship is down, someone will need to lockout the reactor and protect the ship in case the Mishhu attempt to board her while on the ground. Please ma'am," requested Takeyu as he awaited her reply while still monitoring the grav system and rerouting power around damaged systems.

Glancing at another display, he was worriedly pondering if the Mishhu 'would' come back, but this was his ship as well as that of his crew and he didn't want to leave her behind - if the grav system did fail while it was being brought down, either by Charisma or by a fellow crewmember, he'd feel more responsible for not being around to help manage the system and keep it in line. "Go," he looked at Cherry-heisho. "Evacuate the ship with the rest please."

Like a vision of a doomed aircrew from an ancient war, Helen leaped from the Eucharis in her power armor, taking the plunge into the skies, as she hit the air, she spread her arms wide and slowed her decent, as she watched the Eucharis make its somewhat controlled plummet, on the matter of control, Helen activated the drive systems of her armor, slowing, then hovering in mid air as she surveyed the situation. Her armor certainly lacked the torque to do any good in helping the Eucharis itself, so it left her with little to do... that was, until her AIES link spotted the NMX on the beach.

"Well, we can't have a beach party without a bonfire, can we?" Helen mused to herself, as she readied the Aether Gatling she carried upon her Kylie. Range was not a factor, not in the slightest, as she used a combination of her Kylie sensors, orbiting satellites, sensors of the Eucharis shuttles, and all the assets which had eyes on the area. Once the information was fed through her AIES, she had a lock on the pretty faces of the enemy survivors. Once locked, she opened fire with the Gatling, sending short pulses of aetheric energy raining down upon the beached foes, each pulse was a faction of a second, and between each pulse was a tiny movement, guided by targeting systems which aided Helen in lining up each shot precisely, as she pulled the trigger time and time again.

Bridge

Sune briefly considered staying with the Eucharis, but the truth was there was not much he could do at this point for the Gunship. He secured his station, and routed the sensor data over to Ramiro's station.

"See you on the surface, watch the flare maneuvers, the pylons are a real mess structurally." Sune said and left to follow Hanako.

He made his way as quickly as possible to and climbed into the T7 with Hanako.

He strapped in for the landing, uncertain as to the status of the shuttle. He also took a moment to location his armor. The battle in space was over for them, now it was dealing with the NMX on the surface.

As soon as the T7 was down, he went over to his armor. Removed his belt, shoes and rank pin. He activated the armor and once open, stepped in and started the power up. A quick check of the diagnostics shows all systems were green.

Akemi looked up at Hakujou and gave her a nod of respect. "I thank you very much for your aid, but despite my wounds I believe I can still be of assistance and I want to help fight. I would greatly appreciate it if you would please let me do so." Without waiting for an answer she tried to stand up, gritting her teeth and making sure not to wince as she did so. If not stopped she would head to the larger shuttle in search of a suit of power armor using her inertia control as she had before.

"She's the only home I've got Shosho, I wasn't planning on losing her. And Sune, I'll keep that in mind. It's been an honor serving with you both."

Without giving them time to respond he pointed his seat back forward and double checked that his harnesses were attached, which was rare because he would usually have refused to wear his harnesses. With some quick finger work he continued attempting to bring the ship to a horizontal position, making sure he was using as much surface area as possible to slow their descent. Every idea that popped into his head he used, whether or not a rational being would consider it helpful. He deployed the airlock to add surface area, he aimed whatever weapons he could straight down and fired them figuring the recoil might help. Any minuscule difference mattered to him at this point.

Engineering

Takeyu gave a slight nod of the head, not getting a response could either mean the Shosho was just really busy or that she didn't mind him staying behind, had she, she would've told him to get his butt out of there.

With that assumption in mind, he checked to see if anyone else had possibly stayed behind. "Charisma, am I the only one still here?" he asked.

"No, Valencia-Heisho is currently on the bridge," replied the ships AI.

Glancing off to his side and correcting a slight error in the anti-gravity system, he then turned his attention to Ramiro. "Valencia-Heisho? Nayacesen-Juni here, I'm staying behind to give you a hand on getting the ship down safely. I've routed power around all damaged systems, you should have enough to bring us in. If you need me to do anything specific just let me know, I'm here for you," he stated before looking at another red flashing screen and corrected the issue in the life-support system.

"Anti-Gravity system is running fine right now, there is a pair of aetheric portable generators attached to the grid, so if you need me to route that extra power anywhere else, let me know." Takeyu turned in his chair toward the door, half expecting a visitor for some reason, then turned back and began to route more power for Ramiro's usage.

Keeping his eye on the anti-gravity system status, he corrected a few other minor issues that were cropping up in other areas of the ship. "Come on Eucharis, hold together," he glanced about the room.
