RP: YSS Eucharis [Mission 16] The Nest

Team 1

Takeyu avoided the blade and escape. The Ripper jumped down through the hole in the ceiling, as did others coming from above. The coolant room was suddenly a firefight. Steam and liquid flew from the pipes as they took damage from the sudden volume of gunfire. A crowd of Sune and infantry nekos gathered around Sune’s target Ripper and shot it up at close range until it flopped over.

Bors could feel several hits to his back. Meanwhile, Natsumi avoided a stream of aether blasts and was able to take covered behind a damage control locker.

Team Two - NMX Ship - Bridge Junction

When the last of the Rippers in the corridor fell, Helen did a quick scan using her AIES, and found that the targets were indeed neutralized. "Cleared! Advance to the bridge... As Helen spoke, her AIES informed her of what Ramiro and Tomomi were seeing "And get that damned landing bay sealed and get underway!" With that order, Helen pushed onward, stepping over the smouldering wreckage, sparing a pulse of aether fire for each one she'd step over. Once she was at the bridge entry way, she looked to Reika and Akemi, holding her hand up to signal them to hold, as she called upon her drone, sending it into the bridge to get a look around so they'd know what they'd be facing, as she scouted out the bridge, she looked to the other two with her; "Send your drones back to check out that weapon fire, and to stand sentry to make sure we don't have incoming."

Team One

"What the? Oh you mothers!!!"

Bors yelled as the shots hit his back. Moving as quickly as he could to a control panel offering him cover from the shots hitting him in the back.

"We got company on our six" he voiced before sending a hail of gunfire at the new target(s) behind them and instructed his squad to do the same.

When Ramiro appeared, he immediately crouched, unsure of whether he would appear in the middle of a fire-fight. His assumption wasn't that far off. Aiming in the direction that he guessed was the landing bay, he began laying down cover fire.

"Tomomi, go! I've got you covered!"

Team Two - NMX Ship - Bridge Junction

Akemi switched her forearm device from projecting a shield to a sword and began swinging it alongside her saber-rifle. She focused on taking out whichever enemies targeted her or Murakami and made her way to the other soldier's side. Whether or not the bridge entrance was actually cleared when Helen gave her the order to scout with her drones, she fulfilled it, sending one to monitor the horde and the rest to explore the ship and eventually stand guard in various passageways.

NMX Escort Ship, Team 2

Tomomi was scared beyond belief when she opened fired on the group of Rippers in front of her. But adrenaline was the only thing keeping her going and the fear began to lessen when she watched them fall to the floor motionless. But the feeling did not last long when she was struck in the back with shots.

She looked back and her adrenaline shot back up again when she witnessed the horde of Rippers rushing towards her.

"And get that damned landing bay sealed and get underway!" She heard come over the speakers in her helmet. Tomomi just kind of stood there for a few moments until she heard another voice speaking to her.

"Tomomi, go! I've got you covered!" She heard, looking over at Ramiro. With all of the action going on, she did not even notice him teleport in. Tomomi simply waved with one of her hands to acknowledge. She laid down more of her own firepower towards the horde while she rushed over to a control console near by.

Once she arrived, she proceeded to close the landing bay doors. She also began to hack into the system in order to corrupt the door's security codes so the NMX could not open them again from the outside. She could fully start hacking into the entire ship's system, but the door was her primary concern.

Team 1 - Core

"Same drill people. Concentrate your weapon fire on the next one. We need to take them out quickly and combined effort works best." Sune called out as he fired a burst from his 50mm Gauss cannon and followed up with a stream from his SMG at the closest Ripper while using what equipment he could for cover.

Team 2

On second glance it was visible that the landing bay was closed and the Rippers were coming from somewhere on the ship--probably the vehicle bay--via an elevator.

Team 1

"Squad 2! You heard the Shosa, concentrate your fire!" shouted Takeyu as he engaged his systems and began to project holographic images of himself away from where he, Konoka, and Bors were.

Team Two - NMX Ship - Bridge Junction

Since the drone Akemi sent to scout out the Rippers observed where they were truly coming from, she informed Helen. "Ma'am, the Rippers are actually coming from an elevator, probably from the vehicle bay. The landing bay is closed."

Team 1
Konoka became conscious again and, in a daze, noticed Bors and Takeyu near her. She also saw a bunch of Takeyu-projections.
"Wudda 'ish.....'m seein' dwubble......nah, twibble.....'Ish, dis dat m 'ed o'....."
Konoka's green eyes then focused on Bors' bloody back. "Om'tars! Borschhhy......" She tried to get up and get her medkit to help him, but soon realized she could not.
"'Ish," she commented, and fell back down, worrying she'd pass out again.
OOC: Translation? "What the fish...I'm seeing double....no, triple....Fish, must've hit my head pretty bad, or......Oh my stars! Bors-Hei.....Fish!"

Team Two - NMX Ship - Bridge Junction

As per Helen's instructions Reika also dispatched her Daisy's drones to sentry the surrounding area and watch for incoming hostiles. She took the brief lull in fighting to catch her breath, grateful that the gash on her head at least seemed to have stopped bleeding thanks to her innate nekovalkyrja healing ability. As she examined the footage relayed to her armor via the drones, her scouting was interrupted by Akemi's voice.

Akemi said:

"Ma'am, the Rippers are actually coming from an elevator, probably from the vehicle bay. The landing bay is closed."

"Which mean's we're only left dealing with this ships Ripper complement... however many that might be. We can either try to disable the elevator and slow the tide of NMX armored troops coming up after us, or we can try and rush the bridge now and see if we can't disable the elevator from inside there before the Rippers can get here and overwhelm us." Reika said in a wearied voice, one of her arms still hanging limply by her side. "If we can take the bridge, at least we'd be able to track the enemies positions and numbers with access to the internal sensors."

Team 2

"Better yet," Ramiro added in after overhearing the others' conversations. "You get me into that bridge and onto an active terminal, and I'd bet you I could shut down the elevator systems, override blast doors so they can't be opened, and anything else we need to keep ourselves hunkered into that room."

Ramiro stayed in his prone, defensive position, ready to shoot anything that moved.

Team Two - NMX Escort

Helen listened to the exchange of information between her team members, and smiled, she liked moments like the one which she was in, they were precious, important moments, moments that reminded her there was hope for the younger generation of soldiers within the Star Army.

"The situation is clear. We need this ship, we need to disable the systems of this ship, and we need to get to a defensible position. That means we need to take the bridge. All team members, form up, and prepare to push our way in as soon as we are assembled." Helen directed her team as a whole, making it clear that even the people away from the bridge area should haul their asses up to the rest of the team. "If you encounter hostiles, try to avoid them and find an alternate route, we do not need to be here all day engaging Rippers in corridors. We can't afford to wait too long for our tech-savy pair to get up here, we need those lifts shut down."

After giving her orders, Helen weighed the matter... they could wait, and possibly be pinned down and unable to safely advance, or, they could do what was possible, and see about clearing the bridge a little, to at least thin out the numbers within to be ready to advance once the rest of the team was there. Helen decided, the best idea was to begin picking at the bridge defenses, they had no time to doddle and sit idle.

With her plan of action decided, Helen spoke to the team once more "Akemi, Reika, with me. We're moving up and securing the way and backing up Mistuko, then we'll push into the bridge." With that, Helen turned the corner, and started down the corridor which ended with the sturdy doors of the bridge, then, at the adjacent corner the scuffle between Mitsuko and the three Rippers was in sight.

"They're engaged with Mitsuko, but they have the same sensors as us, do not count on the element of stealth, merely surprise. Aether saber mode, check your fire, make sure not to get Mitsuko with any aether penetration." Helen transmitted telepathically to Reika and Akemi, before she burst around the corner and took a swift leap at the back of the middle Ripper, as her forearm weapons burst into life, directing twin blades of aetheric energy at the Ripper she went after. That left two others, plump for the taking by Akemi and Reika.

Team Two - NMX Escort

With a nod, Reika fell in beside Helen and recalled her tactical drones to come closer to the groups present position. Once in place beside the Shosa, the neko raised her one good arm outward past the officer.

Through utilizing her armors own skin vision and the shared combat data provided by Helen's drone and the other armored Star Army soldiers in the viscinity, Reika turned her forearm weapon to aim at the closest of the three Ripper's guarding the bridge and then fired it towards the enemies armored torso.

Team Two - NMX Escort

Akemi circled around the Rippers guarding the bridge as she slashed at them so that they would be between her and her team and she would therefore not get in the way of her allies' fire.

Team 2
NMX Escort - Bridge Junction

Mitsuko flew down the corridor toward her unsuspecting targets. As soon as she began to move, however, she knew something was wrong. She would have - actually, she had - bet her life the Rippers were completely unaware of her approach. But, now it was obvious the element of surprise was lost, as one enemy turned toward her. She only had a fraction of a second to worry about this, of course, before her burst of speed brought her into melee range.

She activated her blade at the last moment, just as she'd planned, although the extra care she'd taken ended up doing her little good. Murakami ricocheted right off the Ripper's larger weapon, not even scratching the beast. A moment later, as her suit lost power and control, her camo disengaged, making it easy enough to see her helmet rolling down the corridor. The rest of her suit, energy blade fizzling out, was left on the ground underfoot as Akemi rushed the Rippers from the opposite direction. At least the momentary distraction let her drop the Ripper that was facing Mitsuko's direction. The escorts caught the other enemies in a crossfire with Helen's team, clearing the last obstacle to the bridge.

2nd Team Nearing the Bridge


As she watched Mitsuko throw herself into combat Suzume ordered her nekos to cover Mitsuko with a hail of fire. joining in just in time for her to see the Neko Berserk go down, Mistato took a brief moment to attach her Bayonet to her smg and switch back over to it. trying to bring the 3 rippers down before they killed the stupidly brave neko.

Team 1

Sune and Team 1 were able to clear the Rippers in the lower level by focusing fire on them as them came through the ceiling, but more were coming from the upper levels. Bors could see them closing in.

Team 2 – Outside Bridge

Melee with the Ripper armors almost always resulted in failure. For Akemi, her attacks didn’t manage to cut deep enough and the Ripper she was hitting used its mass to send her tumbling back onto her ass and then fired a 50mm cannon round into her belly, which left a burning bloody crater in it. One of the other Rippers used its aether cannon to shoot one of Akemi’s escorts in the face, sending her crashing to the floor. Her final escort was riddled with holes from behind by NMX nekos with impaler cannons. The NMX nekos then got into a fight with the drones. Reika’s shots hit the Ripper, saving Akemi by finishing it off.

Helen managed to catch one of the remaining 3 Rippers outside the bridge almost by surprise and it took deep gashes from her aether sabers. One of the other Rippers plunged its aether blade into Helen’s ass while she was occupied. Misato and Mitsuko took that one out, though.

After a fierce scuffle, the bridge-guard Rippers were all burning hulks, leaving just a blast shutter to deal with.

Team 2 – Ship Corridor

Ramiro’s fire caused two Rippers to rush his position, flying down the corridors using their boosters. In seconds, they were on him, with the first two trying to cut him up with their aether blades. If he didn’t run, they would surely kill him. But if he couldn’t hold them, they would reach the rest of the team soon.

Team 2

"Shit!" Ramiro ran as he used his thrusters to boost backward as he scrambled to stand up. After his back slammed into the wall of the corner turn, he fired off a few shots as he turned and used his thrusters to boost him down the hallway towards the bridge. The entire way, he continued to fire off blasts from his rifle.

"Incoming! Two of them!"
