NMX Escort Ship - Outside of Bridge
Mitsuko slowly regained consciousness in the middle of the fight. Akemi and the Rippers nearly tripped over her prone form before she began trying to get to her feet. It felt like her body was suddenly very heavy, slowing down her movements. The noise of combat all around her was so loud, she could only barely comprehend what was happening. She noticed Misato advancing on the Ripper right above her, so she grabbed onto one of its arms for support as she rose, yanking hard to pull it off balance.
After crashing back to the floor along with the burning hulk of the destroyed Ripper, she began to notice the smell. Most of their suits were still filthy. She sniffed, face pale as she reached up to feel her cheek. When had she lost her helmet? Oblivious to everything else going on around her, she scanned the hallway, searching for it. Murakami eventually located the lost helmet, stumbling down the hallway to retrieve it. No wonder she felt so heavy and sluggish...the suit must have lost power when she was hit.
Mitsuko noticed a large scorch and long, shallow dent down one side of her helmet. Thankfully, it slipped back onto her aching head easily enough. The suit began to power up again soon after, rebooting as she slowly got her bearings. Soon enough she was standing with the others near the bridge, more confused than anything. Murakami noticed some of the others seemed to be injured, and there were more dead Rippers - and Neko - around than before. It was all a little too much for her pounding head to process.
She managed to activate one forearm-mounted shield and add to the wall blocking Ramiro, the Gartagens and the injured from any further fire coming from down the hall. Mitsuko couldn't think of anything to say to the others, as she concentrated on standing up straight while both her suit and brain struggled to return to full power.
