Eucharis

After the Ayana had been towed into space, Takeyu spent some of that time repairing the vessel while also working on a report to be presents to Hanako. He was pretty much done when the derelict docked with the Ikoi.

Putting everything away, Takeyu returned to the Eucharis where he got ready for the ceremony. He got out of his working uniform and set it aside, looking at it and noting that it was dirty and could use a good cleaning.

With that note in mind, he tagged it as one of his things to do after the ceremony was over with and pulled out his formal dress uniform and set it on the bed where he unfolded it and looked it over. "Good," he muttered when he saw that it was in pristine condition.

Before he got dressed, however, he grabbed a towel and quickly took a shower to wash off the stink of sweat before returning to his cabin and getting into the uniform. He stood there for a few moments, correcting anything he could find that made the uniform stand out in a bad way.

Once dressed, he stuffed his ICP into the inside of his uniform so that he could use it after the ceremonies to order a few things, then left his cabin.

Ikoi Park

Following the instructions given by Hanako, he made his way to the park, passing through the docking area and then into an elevator before riding it up to the park and stepping out. He was dazzled by the beauty, even though he'd already witnessed it once before, it was still a marvel to him - and the smells helped settle his nerves. Ceremonies such as these always made him nervous, although he never showed it.

He walked up behind Tomomi and Reika, two fellow crewmen he'd noticed and smiled weakly when he overheard Tomomi's nervous comment.

When he heard Ramiro's shout, he turned toward those who were assembled. "You heard the Nitô Juni!" he shouted at those who were there that hadn't yet assembled and moved toward the far right.

Following the instructions of her superiors, Reika fell into the position appropriate for her rank amongst the line of soldiers assembling before the podium -- finding herself in a position to the left of Ramiro.

Once she took her place the neko stood rigidly straight and fixed her attention towards the vacant marble podium, waiting for the ceremony to truly start and for either Hanako or Sune to begin addressing whose that had gathered.

Medical Center

Sune released his patient from medical and escorted him to the squadron's stabase. He made arrangements for the Occhestan to be put up in some guest quarters.

"I have not received a reply from the Shôshô. Although if the Eucharis can not take you there, I will see about making arrangements for you. Either way you will hear from me." he said and then bowed.

Sune then left and made his way to to the Park. He thought about the last time he was here and the evening spent with Hanako. Before entering the park he did a quick check of his appearance ensuring that his uniform was appropriate.

He walked into the park and looked for the rest of the crew. He walked over and took note of the faces. It was an interesting blend of new faces and familiar ones. Friends and comrades in arms. As he walked past them, he took a moment to make eye contact with each before he took his place at the end of line. He gave Konoka a wink, and Cherry a warm smile. He assumed a stance of parade rest while waiting for the Shôshô.

Tomomi's position within the formation was easy. Being the lowest ranking peon, she just waited for it to form before placing herself at the very end. Then mirrored the rest of the formation.

Ayana To Eucharis

With the mission being wrapped up and scooted along, Helen documented what she could aboard the Ayana. Aside from the mystery of blood, shell casings, and the ship itself, it was still an engineer's mission, and it left her without much of anything to do. When the order was given to leave the ship and transition to the Eucharis, Helen was glad to comply. Though, along the way, she did take the time to scoop up the cargo she had requested and placed it aboard the Eucharis, and a single item out of the list ended up aboard the Ayana-Class ship, along with a container of water and a hefty helping of grain.

Eucharis To Ikoi Park

With her personal wants and the glimmer of good-nature within the woman satisfied, Helen received the order from Hanako to prepare to appear for a promotion ceremony. There was an uncertain expression on Helen's lips at that moment. There was a mix of hopeful optimism and uncertainty within the woman, as she weighed the matters of her performance, expectations, goals, and the way which others had judged her service. It did not take long for Helen to convince herself to assume a neutral feeling over the ceremony; she desired a promotion, though, she also knew that she was an operative at heart, and perhaps a promotion was not in her future for the time being. Either way, she was ready.

It was somewhat of a rare treat to wear the dress uniform, a uniform which Helen had to request made for her since she did not have one in her possession. None the less, she found it enjoyable to put on the coat, hat, and most especially the heels. "Finally, out of a pair of boots." Helen mused, as she put on the dress uniform over the snug fitting bodysuit beneath it. After using a volumetric mirror to confirm that everything was in place properly, Helen picked up the red sash which she secured carefully over the coat. Each award and medal that was pinned to the sash was precisely parallel to the edges of the sash... there was simply not enough room for them to be placed parallel to the ground. Colors of black, blue, orange, grey, white, purple, and a few splashes of pale red adorned the sash in the form of her awards, notably though, there was an absence of any of the eye-catching deep red ribbons which would indicate the honor of some of the highest awards within the service. None the less, the display was a distinguished one, a display which made Helen feel a rush of pride as she left the ship and made her way to the park.

As Helen walked through the park, she breathed in the air, and looked around. It was a comforting place, well designed for that very feeling for certain. As Helen strode over the green grass, she floated partially, preventing the heels she wore from digging into the supple soil, though she paused as some of her fellow crew members spoke, and she even let out a small huff of a chuckle at Reika's words; "I've been in the service for a long time, I'll tell you now, it never feels casual." With those words, she soon assumed a position to almost the very furthest right, where Sune would top-off the line.

ON: Ikoi Park

A small crowd began to gather around the formation, consisting of Star Army soldiers and the various Elysians, Occhestians, Helashio, and Yamataians the Eucharis had rescued over its last few missions. Victory and Pineapple appeared with a small table covered in rank patches and pins.

Blueberry took to the podium to start the ceremony. "Eucharis, atten--tion! Good evening, We are pleased to have you here as we recognize our the soldiers and crew members of the starship Y.S.S. Eucharis, NG-X1-408. Before we begin we would like to take this opportunity to welcome all our guests for attending. And now, ladies and gentlemen, Shôshô Ketsurui Hanako."

Hanako walked to the podium.

"On this day," Hanako said, "it brings me great pleasure to reward my crew's continuing decdicated wartime service.

The Empress of Yamatai, on recommendation of myself and the Commander of the Star Army of Yamatai, has placed her special trust and confidence in the crew of the YSS Eucharis. With respect to the valor, loyalty, and professional excellence they have shown, we are pleased to honor them. In view of their demonstrated leadership and leadership potential and their dedicated service to the Empire jointly ruled by her Imperial Majesty and the people of Yamatai, it is her majesty's will that they are advanced in rank."

At this point, Hanako stepped forward and went to the small table, ready to hand out rank as each crew member temporarily stepped out of formation. "When your name is called, please report to me," she directed.

Meanwhile, Blueberry returned to the podium. In a loud and clear voice, Blueberry read from a data pad:

"By order of Shôshô Ketsurui Hanako, First Expeditionary Fleet Squadrons, commanding, and with authorization of Taisho Ketsurui Yui, commander of the Star Army of Yamatai,

As each crew member met Hanako at the table and bowed, she gave a return bow, a warm but brief hug, and a "congratulations" and handed them the approrpriate rank emblems and awards. Once everyone returned to the formation, Hanako went back to the Podium.

"Please join me in reciting the Star Army Creed," Hanako said. "I am soldier of the Star Army of Yamataian expert in combat and exploration; a warrior ready to destroy our enemies where ever they are found.

I am a dignified professional, highly trained and highly disciplined; I will act in a manner that reflects well on the Star Army. I will maintain my mind, body, and equipment in constant readiness. I will take pride in my starship or unit and work hard to make it the Star Army’s finest.

I am loyal to the Empress. I will follow her orders and the orders of those appointed over me. I serve the people of Yamatai; I will never betray their trust in me and I will always do what's right."

Blueberry returned to the Podium. "This concludes today's ceremony. Thank you all and good evening. You are dismissed."

After lining up with the others, Mitsuko noticed unfamiliar faces. What were all of these people doing here? Her nerves were returning, even in the calming environment of the park. She snapped to attention when ordered, mind going blank for a few moments as her training kicked in. Thankfully, she was able to keep her attention focused on the speaker even after she again realized what was happening.

Were they calling her name already? So soon? She was hardly prepared for this! She'd only been able to watch Tomomi go through the process before she found herself moving, managing to get through the ceremony without embarrassing herself. Of course, she almost blew it by getting a bit teary-eyed after that hug. Murakami had barely enough time to regain her composure before they began reciting the Creed. Her voice was quiet to keep from squeaking, as she was prone to do during stressful situations like this.

Then it was all over. She headed off without much direction, as she finally had a moment to look at what she was handed. Mitsuko furrowed her brow after wiping her eyes clear. Had they handed her an extra bar by mistake? It took her a few extra moments to run back what she had just heard, mumbling to herself as she actually listened to anything that had been said after her name. She started to get a bit misty-eyed again...

Ayana To Eucharis

Once his duties with the Recon (turned Salvage) Team had been completed and he was released back to the ship, Jonathan spent the remainder of the voyage to the station in the Armory.

Despite the rather public venue that it potentially was, he had found a discreet corner to set up his personal tent on account of a lack of bunks. He didn't mind the spartan arrangements, however. It kept his skills at erecting and striking the field tent in shape, should they ever come to use. If push came to shove, Jonathan had no qualms about setting up shop here permanently. After all, he was an Infantryman, specializing in space combat and survival. Power Armor and the adjoining Armory were his primary concerns.

Eucharis To Ikoi Park

The Service Dress Uniform always felt odd to Jonathan. It was far too loose for what he was used to wearing, and didn't afford enough protection from anything beyond prying eyes. Still, he had to admit that the specific occasions where it was mandatory did look rather good.

Disembarking with the main group of the crew, he fell in at the left end of the formation, which only made sense: he was the lowest ranking, period.

The calling of his name caught him a bit off guard, though Jonathan did his best not to make it evident. He didn't do to terribly well at hiding his surprise as he received a hug from Hanako! He recovered his composure quickly, receiving his new rank and retreated to the end of the formation - still his rightful post in the formation. The stripe of green fabric looked good on his left sleeve.

As Hanako led her crew in the Star Army Creed, Jonathan knew that, whatever happened next, no matter the odds, despite how little time he'd actually spent with them, the crew of the Eucharis were now his family.

At the conclusion, they were dismissed. The only question remaining now was .... what to do??

As Takeyu listened to the names being given along with the ranks, he was satisfied when he heard that everyone had been promoted. When his name was called, he walked up to accept his new rank and the hug from Hanako, along with thanking her - then he returned to formation.

When the ceremony was overwith, he relaxed a bit and glanced at his fellow crewmen and pondered what to do, with the thought of heading to Sam's Island to rekax a bit.

He stepped out of formation, and looked at the assembled crew. "Who here is interested in going to Sam's Island with me? My treat," he looked at everyone, including the other officers.

When her name was called, Helen could not help but to smile for a moment, before she strode to Hanako to receive her new rank, and the awards for her service. A bow was given before she received the awards and rank, and after the hug was given by Hanako. That just left Helen to return to the line with the others, until the ceremony was completed.

When the ceremony was over, Helen heard Takeyu's invitation, and gave a nod. "That sounds like a good idea, I'll come along." she spoke, deciding it would be good to savor the moment, along with the rest of the crew which had reason to celebrate.

Being reletivly new to the crew and very green, Natsumi had not expected to get any sort of award or promotion. She had happily watched her ship mates receive their promotions and had been caught off guard when Hanako called her name. She walked up to the Shôshô, bowing and getting a hug along with her new rank of Ittô Hei and her awards. Her normally pale skin blushed bright red as all this happened. She could barely contain her composure as she thanked Hanako and returned to her place at attention in line.

She joined everyone in reciting the Star Army Creed, her voice full of pride and joy to be celebrating with her shipmates.

Once it was all over she looked down at the new rank pin that rest in her hands. "Wow" she said and took a deep breath. She then looked back at all the others, wondering what they were going to do now that they had been dismissed. She had no idea save for going back to the ship and pinning her new rank to her uniform.

But then she heard Takeyu's offer to invite them all to an outing and decided to join in. She wanted to celebrate with everyone else.

"I'll come!" she said, almost bouncing over to where the Engineer stood

Reika stood silently and respectfully attentive whilst she listened to Blueberry's speech. When her name was called, the cyan-haired neko approached the Shôshô at the table as had before her when their own names were called out. She and Hanako both bowed towards each other in turn, shared a brief hug, and when Hanako presented Reika with her own set of awards and rank insignia, she thanks the Shôshô quietly before returning to her own place in the line and shortly thereafter, recited the Star Army creed with the others when prompted by Hanako.

After the ceremony was completed, Reika heard Takeyu's invitation to the assembled crew. It sounded to Reika like a good way to celebrate and get to know the new crew members better.

"Count me in as well, sir!" Reika added shortly after Natsumi signalled her own desire to join the party.

Sune had watched content to see the crew members being promoted. He was surprised to hear his name called. He had walked up to Hanako to receive his promotion and his awards. He returned to his position in line and joined in saying the Creed. He wondered what the future held for him and the Eucharis. He was pulled out of his thoughts by Takeyu's voice.

"That sounds like an excellent idea. Count me in." Sune called out to Takeyu.
