UX-11 IX Surface

After leaving the ship, Reika walked amongst the stockpile of various items with the other crewmembers for several minutes before deciding what pieces she would like and sending the request to Hanako.

Reika's request list

  • Several tons of literature (Pirating YE 34, TC: 74-49, IC: 3683-4369-115) - A half-dozen different novels to read in my off-hours

Chrome Egg (Pirating Ultra Variety, TC: 86-20, IC: 1691-2417-96) - Just curious and wondering what it is for. If nothing else, might be a good decoration.

Various shipments of musical instruments (Pirating YE 34, TC: 75-69, IC: 5232-1851-136) - A small harp. Might be fun to learn how to play in my time off.

Hanako approved Reika and Takeyu's lists, but she had more questions for Helen. "What do you plan to do with the chicken? The ship's rules prohibit pets."

To Takeyu, Hanako said "it is best if we keep a low profile. We do not have to take everything, or take everything in one trip."

The Elysians obeyed Bor's commands without any fuss or comments, entering the ship through the now-cluttered cargo bay, which seemed a little dim compared to the bright blue-tinted light bathing the rocky surface outside, even though it was misting and a little cloudy. The huge blue-white sun hung in the sky, causing fast-moving clouds to cast shadows that raced along the surface as the local winds picked up a bit.

Underneath flapping plastic, Hanako spotted a grand piano. "Do you think if we retrieved this, we could put in in the lounge? The technical crewmembers would have to build a mount for it so it is secured to the floor. But a piano in the lounge would be lovely."

Cargo Bay

Mitsuko sighed as she overheard Hanako. That made things much easier. She began removing things from the main list to a new one, full of unnecessary or inconveniently bulky items that could be left behind or stored inside the wrecked ship. She was in much better spirits, now. Murakami was actually smiling to herself, as she quietly worked, free to concentrate on solving the storage problem without worrying about how to cram absolutely everything in their poor little cargo bay.

She wasn't sure who Hanako was addressing, but she hesitantly offered her opinion. "...um...the lounge...really, most of the ship...is already cramped. It would be a tight fit...but...it's possible." As Mitsuko began to fine tune the master list, she finally realized something. "...wait." She looked up from the data pad, blinking away the numbers floating in her head. "...we're supposed to pick something for ourselves, too?"

When confronted by Hanako on the topic of the chicken she was carrying around, Helen was already quick to give a response; "Hennessy will be on-board for the practical purpose of providing fresh eggs. Certainly, a Shosho does deserve to have fresh eggs, ma'am." There was a bow of her head on the mention of Hanako's rank, and her deserving eggs... it seemed, Helen was exercising the time-honored tradition of kissing brass.

Takeyu was more than understanding of wanting to stay low-profile. "No problem ma'am," he said and folded his arms over his chest and stared up at the vessel.

Tap his lower chin in thought, Takeyu glanced off to one side at the Shosho. "Shosho, if your going inside this ship, I'd like to volunteer to go. I'm curious about the insides, despite what we have on record of course."

"Nice to meet you, Chania," said Konoka after both Elysians were untied as they walked to the MedBay. "And what is your name?" she asked the other slave girl.
MedBay
Once they reached the MedBay, Konoka asked the slave girls, "Did those fish faces injure you in any way? Or do you feel sick in any manner?"
With a sigh she added, "I promise Riko-hei and I will help you in any way we can."
It bothered her terribly that those fish face slavers had just abandoned those poor girls. She could only imagine what they had suffered.

"I bought these items with my own money but they are for the benefit of the whole ship and crew. If you have requests," Hanako told Mitsuko, "I am certainly willing to consider them."

Hanako turned back toward Helen. "We do not have a place on the ship for farming animals, and we just brought a container of 750,000 eggs aboard."

"Takeyu, if you want to investigate it, do not go alone. I am thinking of attempting to tow the ship into space. What do you think?"

The Elysians struggled with the zero-gravity passage, with Chania flapping and spinning around and Sophia clinging to the walls as best she could.

"My name is Sophia. I do not want to talk about what happened," Sophia growled.

Sune went looking for Hanako and saw her examining the piano. The idea of such a luxury item aboard a warship seemed a bit incongruous to him. But Hanako was a Princess, and much of the Eucharis was above the norm for decorations and amenities.

"So who will play this if it is installed. Not to mention how will we get it into the lounge through the zero-g corridors?" he inquired.

Cargo Bay

Mitsuko nodded, a look of concentration on her face as she began combing through the list again. She hadn't been looking for anything for herself, while organizing all of this. The Neko made her selections carefully...

  • 1 Classy Briefcase
    1 Crystal paper-weight
    1 Desktop telephone
    1 Mug (”#1 Logistics Officer”)
    1 Mini Fridge
1 Emfratec Stove - The Griller variation
4 sets of blankets, sheets and pillowcases

Note : I would also appreciate a selection of books from the several tons we suddenly have available.

Murakami smiled to herself after forwarding the list to the Shosho. She wasn't interested in weapons or any of the other, more exotic items. It would be nice to personalize the desk in her cabin, though. She didn't think Misato would be using it as often as her. Hopefully she would appreciate being able to swap out their bedclothes for something different every now and then. The fridge would be useful...she wasn't sure if they had any portable drinks to store in it, though. Mitsuko frowned...if only she'd known, she would have bought more of those sodas while they were on shore leave. And maybe some frozen margaritas, too. Or did you have to mix those yourself?

She had almost no clue how to cook, especially on a grill, but it seemed like it might be fun to try. Mitsuko thought the included apron and oven mitts seemed especially cute...she hadn't really considered you might wear alternate clothing just for cooking. She'd have to visit the ship's kitchen, if they managed to stay on board for more than a day or two this time.

"On the note of not having space, there is no where for me either, Shosho." Helen spoke, a frown tugging at the corners of her lips on the matter of still not having quarters. Being a bum in the cargo hold and lounge was starting to wear on her nerves. "As for that many eggs... Shosho, I may not be a culinary expert or cargo specialist, but from my understanding, we would be hard pressed to store, and consume, that many eggs while preventing spoilage." Helen paused for a moment, as her mind juggled the numbers involved; "I figure, that storing those eggs would require something approximating the space of a fifteen meter cube." Helen then held up the fluffy white feathered chicken "This hen requires at most a one meter cube, Shosho.".

"Thank you, Shosho" Natsumi replied over wireless after recieving confirmation of most of her requests. She gathered up her new items, goggles immediately went on her head, the sword she clipped to her belt and kareoke machine and music were in a box that she picked up and carted everything into the cargo hold.

She hoped the AIR1b armor would be approved too, it would be an interesting item to work on and fine uses for, but if not she understood.

After settling her things out of the way she returned to the field of supplies and items in time to catch Takeyu and Hanako talk about exploring the wrecked ship.

"I'll go with you!" Natsumi said as she came up next to Takeyu, smiling at the Engineer. "Could be fun" she added

MedBay
"Forgive me, Sophia-san," said Konoka softly. "For making you uncomfortable with my questions, and for the difficult trip here. I only asked about what happened to you because, as a medic, I am trying to ascertain whether you have any injuries or illnesses that need treating as a result of your tragic capture." She then bowed, emphasizing her meek apology.
To Chania, she added, "I must ask you the same thing. Are there any injuries or symptoms I can help you with? Otherwise, after a simple physical, we can go get you poor girls some lunch."

Takeyu rubbed his chin thoughtfully for a moment before replying. "That shouldn't be an issue, although you are right, I would like to investigate the ship a bit to see if there are any.. hmm... hidden surprises that might show up if we do try and move it."

When he heard Natsumi's remark, he turned toward her and nodded before looking back at the Shosho. "With your permission ma'am."

Medbay

Thinking his job was over, Bors was on his way to the armory when he heard Konoka mention that he was going to help with the ships new guest.

"You know Doc, I'm better at making messes than cleaning them up... But i'll help out as best i can. Just tell me what you need me to do."

“I play the piano,” Hanako told to Sune. “I was trained when I was young.” She sounded a little offended. “There is a hatch on the underside. We can lower the cargo lift out of the bottom of the ship and use it to raise the piano.”

Hanako sent Mitsuko approval for everything but the stove, since it was a fire hazard and the galley was already crowded. The fridge seemed strange, since there was already one in the lounge.

The shosho remained unconvinced by Helen’s attempts to raise a chicken aboard the ship. “I do not think we have room to raise animals,” she reiterated. “Especially if you do not even have accommodations for yourself. Perhaps you should transfer to a Nougaku-class ship,” she suggested wryly. “Why not ask Cherry to move in with Jalen-Shosa?”

The Shosho gave Takeyu an affirmative nod. “Be careful.”

Victory lowered the large hook from the Eucharis tail and Ramiro began using the tank to drag to drag it over to the nose of the grounded cruiser.

Medical Lab

The Elysians told Konoka that they were uninjured, but Sophia asked for something to identify some DNA that one of her captors had left in her before she was abandoned. Chania asked what kind of food the ship had available.

Surface

Sune listened to Hanako's answer to his question, though the tone of her answer puzzled him. This was as far as he could recall the first time her ability with a piano arose. Since it was not his nature to pry into the private lives of people, something he thought Hanako understood, how would he know what she could play. He also was perplexed about her suggestion of using the lift, but it did not change the fact that a Grand Piano would fit through any of the interior doorways without having to be partially disassembled.

"I believe my presence would be better served elsewhere Shoso." He said with brief nod and walked off to take a look at the Ayana-Class Escort.

MedBay
Konoka politely nodded at Sophia's request with a sad, sympathetic look in her eye and carefully guided Sophia into the privacy of her medical office and took a sample of the DNA. putting it in a petri dish while muttering about "fish faced fisshers" and "poor angel chickies" and trying hard to channel the righteous indignation she was feeling into her medical work.
Private Medical Office of Konoka
She didn't speak through the entire procedure, being afraid that she'd start ranting a decidedly not-seafood-related stream of curses at the fishers who had made the procedure necessary.
MedBay
When that was done, her thoughts turned to the other Elysian girl's request as she and Sophia returned to the main MedBay.
"As for food," she told Chania with a smile, "Riko-hei, I think that's something you can help with, right?"

Cargo Bay

Mitsuko seemed happy enough as her list was approved. Mostly. She did frown at the loss of grilling potential, but this disappointment only lasted a moment. Soon she was busy making a list of things to do with her new possessions, once she carted them back to her cabin. Murakami hadn't owned anything but what the Star Army had issued her before her assignment to the Eucharis, and now she was worried about how to keep track of all her belongings. She giggled to herself at the thought, before something outside the ship caught her attention.

"...is that box moving?"

She wasn't sure if anyone heard her question, as she moved closer to the ramp leading to the planet's surface. The Neko shivered, craning her neck to peer at the box that had been wobbling only a moment ago. She had no plans of heading into the damp chill unless ordered, but maybe one of the crew members already outside would investigate...

Natsumi watched Takeyu as approval to explore the wrecked ship was given by Hanako. She smiled, "Do we want to get armor first before we go in, or just go?" she asked, excited to go on an adventure. Either way would be fine, she had her AMES suit on and her pistol, power armor would just make her feel a bit safer.

Surface

"May I come with you sir? Some hacking might be in order." Tomomi said to Takeyu with a slight smile on her face. Getting into an AMES quickly was easy considering the cargo bay was near. Tomomi just had this itch for exploration that needed to be scratched.
