RP: YSS Eucharis [Mission 17.1] Odds and Ends

"You can Tomomi-hei," he looked at the crewmen with a hint of curiousity, having someone who could hack through the doors or perhaps into the ships systems - provided they could find a way to power them - would be helpful.

Takeyu thought for a moment, going without armor might be good but then again he didn't know what was in store for them. "We'll go with armor just to be safe, return to the Eucharis, suit up and then meet at the ramp. Choose a loadout that favors close quarters, and no aether weaponry please, we want to search the ship not put new holes in."

"Thank you Shosho," said Takeyu with a bow before he made his way toward the ship.

The Ayana-class cruiser was mostly intact save for damage to its weapons the the blown-off nacelle. From the looks of it, it had been attacked by NMX ship weapons and possibly battlepods. The cargo bay was currently closed as were all exterior airlocks. The ship might still have atmospheric pressure inside but there were no signs of power running through it.

The cool mist began to turn into a drizzle and the wind picked up more as a thundercloud moved in, rumbling constantly with lightning flickering beneath it.

Hanako summoned Lime and Mango moved the piano underneath the ship and then began bringing the rest of the instruments. Two pieces of armor moved outward and then swung open and from the bottom of the ship emerged rails for the cargo lift, which lowered down them to ground level. Above was the cargo bay and the various levels of the ship, with a spotlight shining down. After they got the instruments aboard, the cooks rode the lift up and the opening retracted.

Next, Hanako grabbed a large box full of blankets, sheets, and pillowcases to make makeshift accommodations for their Elysian guests and future crew members.

Racoon T7 shuttle (Ke-T7-1B Long Range) - en route to UX-11 IX

The somewhat angular form of a M2-2A Mindy Powered Armor stood before him. His two-toned eyes caressed every surface, front and back, as he conducted his pre-operation checks. Despite the fact that he was not going to be going into a hostile environment or instantly lethal atmosphere, if there was one thing Jonathan had been known for during training it was thoroughness. Leave no stone unturned. Satisfied with the exterior, he removed his Mindy's headpiece and cracked open the suit, likewise inspecting everything within.

Around him were a number of uniformed personnel. Two were flight crew attached to support the pair of pilots up front. They were busy resecuring the other powered armor suits otherwise secured to the deck along the center of the shuttle's hold. On its last leg of a personnel transfer run, the shuttle had already dropped off the other 23 passengers, and picked up 12: the other occupants. All Infantry. Once he was dropped off, the rest would be dropped off somewhere else; Jonathan didn't know, and didn't care.

Stripping out of his clothes, he slid neatly into the Mindy while one of the flight crew stuffed his discarded clothing into his Type 31 Rucksack and secured the bag closed. The other flight crewman helped him secure his armor's helmet while the Aetheric Generator spooled up. As the power began to flow, readouts sprang to life in his head's up display.

As the AIES continued to run through its start-up diagnostics, the flight crewmen outside were checking his external features one last time. At about the same time that his suit flashed its final status message, the flight crew were giving him a thumbs up.

"ETE* 10 minutes," the shuttle's co-pilot announced on an omnidirectional broadcast. "Flight Crew, secure stations and prepare for landing." On that announcement, the pair moved about the cabin, checking that their passengers safety harnesses were (still) properly secured, conducted a last-minute sweep of the cargo, then moved to their seats in the forward compartment. Jonathan reached up with both hands, grasping a pair of handholds purpose built into the ceiling for just such a situation.

Light as a feather, the shuttle touched down not far from the YSS Eucharis. As the rear loading ramp lowered, Jonathan was quite grateful for the power armor: the world outside was cold, as indicated by his sensors, and plenty damp as well. Reaching down with his left hand, he grasped the straps of both his standard issue duffle bag and waterproof rucksack. He was grateful he had secured the latter, as sensors indicated the presence of incliment weather nearby. Stepping down the ramp, he surveyed the landscape, which was completely at odds with anything he could have possibly imagined.

First, there was the Eucharis. Planetside, cargo bay opened, loading elevator rising up into the hold with ... was that a GRAND PIANO?! The instrument vanished from view and he continued his survey while walking forwards, the Racoon shuttle lifting off behind him and departing for other destinations.

Next, the massive field of cargo containers, a shuttlecraft, a pair of outdated and horribly inefficient Nepleslian power armor suits, a damaged but mostly intact starship, and various crew of the Eucharis scampering about the veritable treasure trove of goodies scattered both in and arround the cargo containers. One of them also seemed hell bent on keeping the clucking chicken secured underneath one arm.

It wasn't dificult to locate the Captain. She was the central nexus of this chaotic flux of activity; though currently engaged in securing blankets and other sleeping type paraphernilia. He opened up his stride, crossing the distance to the outskirts of the cargo 'yard' quickly before slowing down to delicately pick his way through the stuff.

"Shôshô Ketsurui." Dropping his duffel and ruck, he bowed. It may have felt more comical than it looked, especially with a shield attached to his left forearm, but Jonathan bowed anyways. "Santô Hei DarkSky, reporting for duty."

Natsumi quickly scrambled up the Eucharis cargo ramp, navigated the crowded cargo hold and soon found herself in the armor bay. she quickly traded her AMES suit for her MINDY power armor, getting herself settled and adjusted befor popping the helmet on over her head. she chose to keep the standard weapons package rather than equip something different and was soon back outside in the cold drizzle with the Engineer.

"It is good to have you with us, Santô Hei DarkSky!" the Shôshô replied. The young admiral, dressed in a tight AMES suit minus the helmet, was short like most Yamataians and had sea green hair, pointed ears, and big golden eyes. "We are about to look inside the ship over there," she told DarkSky. "But first, please assist me," she asked, lifting one side of a large plastic-wrapped palette of pillows, sheets, and blankets.

Surface

"By your command," he replied, almost automatically. Depositing his own bags atop the plastic wrapped pallet, he grasped the opposing side. "May I inquire as to what happened here, Shôshô Ketsurui," he asked as he helped her move the load over to the ship.

"There was an anonymous seller offering a 'grab bag' of miscellaneous items for a fixed price. These items were dropped off on this planet for us to retrieve. We are going to take as many useful items as we can and put them to use. On a related note, the ship's cabins are all filled, so we will need to find a place you can sleep. These pillows and blankets are a start."

Once the stuff was aboard, Hanako told DarkSky: "Shoi Nayacesen Takeyu is leading the investigation of the UOCPF cruiser. Please join him." The captain then began bringing more odds and ends aboard the ship and stuffing them whenever there was a little space.

Eucharis Power Armor Bay

Takeyu walked quickly up the ramp and entered into the PA Bay, he glanced about it for a moment and then got into his armor. While it was starting up, he sent a quick list to Charisma to determine if they had certain items in storage.

When his suit was fully powered up he began to outfit it for closer quarters combat, including equipping a butt pack to carry any items that they find in the ship but also some NSP Leg Launchers. He also grabbed a GP-12 Phased Pulse Rifle to complement his service rifle and kept the teleportation units just in case something would happen. Then he made his way to the ramp to wait for the other two.

"A tent in the Power Armor Bay would be more than sufficient for my personal requirements," Jonathan replied to Hanako as they finished loading the pallet of sleeping gear. As she went about picking out more random stuff, the still power armored infantryman stepped down the ramp to join Takeyu.

Unlike the Shoi, Jonathan did not sport a handheld weapon. While he certainly did believe in "No kill like Overkill," he also wanted to leave his hands free for his chosen profession. A handheld weapon would have gotten in the way of setting up explosives, even with the manipulator module on his back.

Medbay

After making a quick run to the galley to get some foodstuffs for their new guest Bors returned to the medbay,

"Sorry it isn't much, but its probably more than you've had in a while I bet" He said setting the plates in front of the two Elysians, "But I'm sure once our cooks get back you'll complain about all the food choices you'll have to make."

After doing so Bors decided to take his leave, and made his way to the Fabrication Room to make himself a more decent set of armor. It's not that I don't like the Kylie that was loaned to me he thought as his eyes flickered across the display in front of him, But I just don't feel right wearing a Shosa's spare set

While he waited for his creation, Bors went into the armory and grabbed a Atromos Particle Beam Rifle and quickly returned smiling to himself saying " Yep this should do the trick ."

Cargo Bay

As the Shosho reentered the ship, Mitsuko moved to assist. She wouldn't dream of correcting the captain, but she couldn't help but follow close behind, rearranging and reorganizing the items Hanako was stuffing willy nilly into her cargo bay. In the middle of this, she stopped and looked back out onto the planet, frowning.

"...it wobbled again. That box...um...maybe there are more chickens inside?"

Natsumi waited with Takeyu for the last member of their little expedition party to arrive. She spotted a rather shiny new MINDY with a unique weopons outfit approach her and the Engineer.

"Hi!" She waved, greeting the newcomer cheerfully. "You must have come in that shuttle, huh?" she asked "I'm Santo Hei Yamashiro Natsumi, Starship Operations and gunnery" she introduced herself, bowing to the newcomer

Eucharis

Tomomi gave a bow before she proceeded to the ship's Powered Armor Bay. Once there, she walked over to her assigned Mindy. Cleaned an repaired since its last mission, Tomomi gave it a quick visual inspection before she manually added two Ke-M2-W3002 Leg NSB Launchers figuring the drones will be good for recon. She then attached a Ke-M2-W2904 Flamethrower to the right shoulder's weapon mount. She kept where the teleportation module was however.

Happy with her selection, Tomomi proceeded to strip out of her clothing and store it into a locker near by."I really must request for a 3A variant." Tomomi said as she climbed into her mindy careful. Once the suit was sealed and fully powered, she went out of the bay via the large opening and hovered down to the ground where the rest of her team was waiting.

Tomomi eyed the Aetheric Pulse Cannon on the right shoulder of the newcomer's suit as she hovered down. She didn't recognize the name her IFF software was giving her. "You might want to temporarily replace that weapon for something less likely to collapse the ship on us." She said pointing at the with weapon with all of her fingers extended.

Sune took up a position on top of one of the SSCC's where he could monitor the activities of the crew while working on his report. The change in weather did not really deter him, since he could access his ICP mentally he could keep it contained.

He took a moment to send Takeyu a message regarding the exploration of the damaged UOC craft.

Takeyu stared at the message from Sune, and thought about it for a moment before sending off a quick message to the group.

Code:
Change of plans, I need everyone to grab a Ke-G1-1a Science Scanner, we'll be using those to scan for life-forms and other hazards aboard that ship

When he was done, he took a step to the side to scrutinize the new comer. "Welcome to the YSS Eucharis, name's Shoi-Nayacesen Takeyu, Chief Engineer aboard this vessel."

He then looked at the pulse canon and gave a nod at Tomomi. "The Hei is right, I would suggest you change that out for something a little less destructive."

With the matter settled, Helen gave a bow to Hanako, before she went to retrieve a power armor from the Eucharis for the purpose of scouting the Ayana-Class ship. She considered leaving the matter to the technically skilled of the crew, however, when it came to UOC designs, she was better versed than the rest of the crew thanks to her time in the space of the Lorath Matriarchy. As Helen strode to the ship, she picked up her hen and looked it in the eye; "Alright Hennessy, our friendship was not meant to be. Good luck out there." Helen spoke, before she set the fluffy white hen beneath the Eucharis, before she floated up to the power armor bay to enter from the outside.

With a remote command to MEGAMI, Helen entered the opened up bay and went about preparing her Kylie for deployment. Retrieving a Ke-M2-W2904 Flamethrower from storage, Helen fitted the weapon to her Kylie, it seemed a reasonable tool for the job, more so, when paired with the Ke-M2-W2913 Submachine Gun, and the integrated weapons of her Kylie, along with her NSP. "I'm not going to let this Kylie get a scratch." Helen mumbled as she went about slipping into the armor.

After making the appropriate replies to the greetings given, Jonathan secured his personal bags and stepped away from the group, and the ship in general. Bringing his armor propulsion systems up to full operation, he floated up to the ships Power Armor bay, and settled down next to an empty rack - one missing any identification plate that might suggest it belonged to a unit already outside.

Powering down his suit took some time, as did securing his clothing, selecting a replacement for his shoulder piece, and making the swap itself. The Aetheric Cannon was grossly inefficient within an atmospheric setting as it was. Withdrawing to the Armory, he secured a Ke-M2-W2904 Flamethrower, and a shoulder weapon mount for the now empty right shoulder. While inside, he also obtained a number of the requisite scanners units: one for each of the party.

Once the appropriate changes had been made to his armor but before stripping and getting back in, he sent a message to Takeyu:

It slightly miffed Takeyu when the new comer didn't say a word to either him or Tomomi, but he wasn't going to let that ruin things. As he waited for the others to be ready, he looked at the message from Jonathan.

Shoi Nayacesen Takeyu said:
T31 Plastic Explosives are to powerful, I want to try and limit the amount of destruction to the ship. Instead, bring some detonation cord, it can be used to cut holes through doors and walls.
With a muted sigh he looked over toward the ship.

After securing a 50 meter spool of Detonation cord and 2 detonators (1 remote, and 1 timer, just in case) Jonathan returned to his armor. The Detonation cord, detonators, and one of the science scanners he affixed the the inner facing of his shield. The other scanners he deposited within the central pouch of his armor's butt pack.

It wasn't much longer that saw Jonathan back in his armor, his uniform secured underneath the scanners in the butt-pack. After completing power-up and verifying the status of the flamethrower now incorporated into his systems, he exited the Power Armor Bay and rejoined the group down below the Eucharis.

Reaching back, Jonathan detached the butt pack and produced the science scanners from within that he'd brought for the others. After all, Takeyu wanted everyone to bring one. It was simple efficiency to bring them down since he'd had to go up to swap out armaments anyway.

After putting on his new set of Armor Bors went to join the other outside. He felt somewhat more in place with the MCAS, it's weight and somewhat bulkyness reminding him of the armors from his home world and it made him happy. As he walked down the ramp joining the others he starred at the ship that they were about to board and explore,

"It was a Nepleasian ship right? Wonder if I knew anybody on it." he said out loud before removing his helmet and popping in his trusty e-cig as he waited for further orders.
