Asterism Landing Site

Citrine watched as the shuttle for the Eucharis descended and landed a short distance away. She turned to the other members of the team, "Well, I guess we should go over and ....." She stopped in mid-sentence as she watched the Eucharis crew exit and head off to the base in a hurry.

"Well, obviously they do not need us anymore, Chusa's orders were once the Eucharis crew touched down we were to return." She opened the door and climbed into the Asterism.

A bit rude, too good to talk to a bunch of greenies I guess. she thought.

Once the team was in the Asterism lifted off under the control of Ruby.

When the Asterism was in the upper atmosphere, a message was sent to the Eucharis from the Firebird.


"YSS Firebird to YSS Eucharis,

Since our away team was not required on Ether, we will be having our first crew dinner at 1900hrs.

I would like to extend an invitation to Ketsurui-Shôshô and two guests to enjoy the hospitality of the Firebird. I believe my crew would appreciate the opportunity to meet some of crew of such a famous ship in person.

I understand you have personnel on the surface, and you may not be able to accept this invitation. But since our team was not needed to assist your original team, I thought you might be able to.

Sleep Room

The area Misato and Takeyu had entered was a 3 meter wide and 15 meter long hall with an arched ceiling. Along both walls there were a number of makeshift beds in the form of dozens of sleeping bags laid down on top of piles of cardboard boxes. There were also a few items of NMX uniform parts strewn about and hanging from the ceiling on clothes lines. NMX nekos didn't believe in underwear, apparently, as there was none on the lines. There was more of the facility on the other end of the sleep room.

Facility - Secret Passage

"Oh...okay. S-sorry." She bowed to Bors, as he stubbornly pulled himself to his feet. "I'll just...see where this leads..." She drew her sidearm, although she had a feeling it wouldn't be incredibly useful. Moving cautiously forward, she investigated the passage, turning on her helmet lamp if necessary. Mitsuko tried to determine where the corridor led, and if there was anything particularly useful - or threatening - on the other end.

Sleeping Area

"Wait for the medic," ordered Takeyu to Bors. "Plus I don't want you searching that passage way alone, there's no telling what the NMX left behind and in your condition it's too risky," he said and gestured to Misako and DarkSky at the far door.

"Natsumi, I'm sending you the location of Bor's."

Underground Facility

Mitsuko rounded the corner she saw the corridor ahead had an open door on the right and a 1-meter-wide hallway on the left. As she entered the hallway, a laser beam put a dot on her torso and a female voice said "Freeze!" It was an NMX neko in the room on the right beyond the open door.

Tomomi smacked her helmet where he forehead was. "To late sir. Murakami-hei proceeded before the order no to go in was given. Seems she has gotten herself in some trouble." she reported to Takeyu. She grabbed the science scanner she had managed to keep and scanned the area where Mitsuko was once she attached the life scanner attachment. She moved at a very snail like pace towards Mitsuko

If there was only the single voice she heard then Tomomi was planning on simply yanking Mitsuko out of the way. But if there were much more, then she was going to have to be clever to save her dingy friend. Mitsuko could survive one shot. Plus the corridor provided a nice kill box for anyone that pursues them. But the same applies for them if she is unable to get them out of it and the NMX are smart enough to just reach around and blindly fire into it.

Facility - Secret Passage

Mitsuko did indeed freeze when she was told to, letting out a quiet squeak. She glanced aside without moving her head, spotting the Neko. Did she even see a weapon? She didn't plan to stick around to get a better look.

Staying completely still, weapon still in her hand, she let her inertia control do the moving for her. Murakami suddenly jerked back, propelling herself as sharply as she could back into the passage. Without any physical tell that she was going to move, and the speeds she could manage, she hoped she'd be able to twitch out of the way, using the corner of the tunnel as cover. Then she'd fling herself back down the passage the way she'd come...likely barreling directly into Tomomi as she tried to sneak up behind her.

Since she hadn't heard any of the conversation the others had been sharing, she had little to say in the quick transmission she sent to all members of the team, beyond the obvious :

Facility - Secret Passage

"Change of plans Boss, Seems like we've found some Stray Cats" Bors said to Takyeu as he saw Mitsuko dive back into the tunnel. Positioning himself so that most of his body was behind his forearm shield, he leveled his pulse rifle so that when the NMX neko rounded the corner he would have a clear shot at it.

Facility - Sleeping area..

"You're right, DarkSky, Misato, return to the reception's area and assist Bor's and Mitsuko!" shouted Takeyu as he turned around and headed for the door, stopping just short of it to wait for his team mates to pass through first. "

"Thank you, Taii" Natsumi replied, the information from the Engineer flashing on her HUD.

"I'll take point, Chui" Natsumi said to Blueberry, moving ahead of the medic. They were nearing the Armor team's location and could hear their chatter on the comm, there was trouble ahead. The last thing Natsumi wanted was the one with the needed medical knowledge getting blasted.

Slowing, she readied her rifle as she entered the reception chamber, Blueberry right behind her, already getting her kit ready to treat Bors if there was time. With no need for fast travel, Natsumi settled back onto the ground and moved to support Bors just as Mitsuko came shooting back at full speed.

Sleeping Area

As soon as the Taii ordered her back to help out, Misato spun on her heal and started racing back to the reception hall. She sent her drones up ahead to see what all was going on.

Once she arrived at the door well that Bors was covering she sent a quick message to Bors to move out of the way so she could take up position and move up the hall way. With a few quick thoughts she sent her drones down the hallway to find out who all was down there.

Tomomi quickly followed Mitsuko out of the corridor and attempted to find some cover. And if that failed, she would lay in the prone while she went back to scanning.

Reception Area

A minute or so passed, with the NMX neko failing to pursue Mitsuko. It was very quiet now.

Facility

Mitsuko flew down the passage, going too fast to notice a few of Misato's tiny drones bouncing off of her. Somehow she managed to avoid crashing into Tomomi, stretching out horizontally to pass over Bors' head. Once she was out of the tunnel, Murakami righted herself and flopped to the ground, still clutching her weapon. "Oh d-dear...th-that was close..."

She was panting, a bit shook up by the suddenness of the whole thing. Mitsuko looked up from where she'd wound up sprawled on the ground, noticing how everyone had rushed into the reception area. Even some new faces had arrived. It took her a moment to recover, trying not to look too shaky as she stood. "Oh my..." She shuffled out of the way as everyone piled up around the passage, although things seemed eerily quiet.

Facility - Receptions

When Takeyu got the receptions he stopped and stared at the opening, and pondered a few things before taking notice of Mitsuko. The soldier stared down the tunnel, taking note of Tomomi and Bor's and then at Mitsuko. "You ok?" he asked, and popped one of his drones off its hangar to fly down and investigate.

Takeyu's drone was one-shotted by an NMX Nekovalkyrja with an Impaler-type particle rifle. The image the drone transmitted before it destruction was of a peach-skinned NH-29 NMX light infantry soldier with gorgeous emerald green eyes and wavy bright orange hair, dressed in a khaki NMX uniform and holding her rifle and she had at least two NMX parasites floating by her.

Parasites... they just 'have' to have parasites... Takeyu grumbled as he recalled the parasite that nearly dug its way into Hanako during one mission. With a heavy sigh, he looked at the team. "Ok, here's the plan," he said. "Misato and Darksky, I want you two to release all of your drones and set them to attack those two parasites. We'll then descend cautiously into the tunnel, once that Neko comes in site, fire away - don't let those parasites get near you though."

"Bors, I don't want you up front with Misato or Darksky, with that hole in your chest you are a gourmet meal for a parasite." he said and began to wonder where their medic was right now. "Tomomi, Mitsuko, either of you two have working weapons?" he asked and stared down the secret passage.

There was still no sign of the enemy just yet. Blueberry arrived and went to Bors, and set up an IV bag full of synth blood that would help accelerate his healing and keep him healthy. "Can you remove your helmet? I do not think we should take you out of the suit until we find an HS tank to put you in, but I can hook this up to your neck. Have you ever considered becoming a Nekovalkyrja?"

"Could always use me as bait" Bors joked as he removed his helmet. His face had regained some of its color but it was still clearly obvious that he was close to death. As Bors waited for Blueberry to stick him in the neck with a needle, he looked over at Tomomi and Mitsuko "if one of you wants to take my pulse rifle go for it, I still got my suits weapons for what it's worth."

Bors laughed a bit at Blueberrie's question, "Haven't really thought about it, think I'd feel like a dirty old man if I did transfer over. Think ill have to pass on that one, Rather be more teched out than a freespacer then an old man in a little girls body."

"Just my NSP. Doesn't happen to be a armory here is there?" Tomomi said in reply to Takeyu's question. The mention of parasites slightly unnerved Tomomi.
