Misato was about to thank Mitsuko, when the explosion happened. She quickly dropped to one knee and let the blast wash over her. bringing up Bors system status she didn't need to ask him. "DarkSky how many more mines do we have left?" She punctuated the question with a burst of fire from her sub-machine gun at an arm tossing another rock. "We have to get out of this spot." Suzume was getting frustrated at the whole situation.

Before she completely fell in to doubt the message from the Taii came in. She set her comm to respond with the same coding, "Sir, this is Misato, we are in a cave a klick from the shuttle. What can I do for you Sir?"

Ether surface

Takeyu gently touched down on the surface and, right away, pulled his rifle and sweeped the area. "here to repair the shuttle so you and the rest of the team can get off when the mission is over," he glanced over his shoulder briefly at some rocks. "Please tell me the status of the team and shuttle, Misato-hei?"

"Well, Sir the only damage the crew here have suffered is: Bors' PA's AIES got rattled and damaged during an mine explosion. That is all for that. As for the shuttle I know we took hit from the rippers. past that Sir you will need to consult the pilots, they should know better the I. My hands were full worrying about the rippers."

"And who was piloting?" Takeyu asked, and stood up and looked around. He consulted his map and scrolled across it until he saw where the shuttle was and began to slowly make his way toward it.

"There's only a handful left," Jonathan replied, picking himself up. He had been concentrating on disarming mines, so when one had gone off he'd been knocked a bit off ballance. The shield was once again up, and this time positioned to give him adequate cover from both rock tossing nekos as well as detonating mines. "I've made enough space for us to crawl under them, but with the pounding Bors has just taken, I'm not keen on getting any closer to these things than we already are. I'll keep working."

At this point, he activated the Time-Modulated Ultra-Wide Band Radar feature of his Mindy's AIES. He intended to use it's feedback to map out what was currently infront of them, what with all of the visual imparing smoke from the blast. As rocks and trip-mines also had different signature returns, he also hoped that he could tell what was what from the clutter and take out the rest. Then he had a thought.

"Misato-hei, request permision to lob a small salvo of my mini-missiles around the corner into the enemy position while I work. At the least it should muck them up a bit."

Misato was starting to get frustrated with the fact that there were enemy nekos around the corner and a superior asking all kinds of questions. Questions that he should already have the answers for. Misato took a deep breath and responded to the Taii calmly as if it was a causual conversation shipboard, "Sir, That would have been IttΓ΄ Hei Murakami and NitΓ΄ Hei Kurita."

Before she could continue Darksky popped up with an suggestion, trying not to giggle at the over kill she gave him the OK to blow the "hell out of them."

"With pleasure." Leaning to the left, Jonathan cleared the shoulder-mounted mini-missile pod mounted over his left shoulder. 5 mini-missiles, the smallest salvo available, popped out of their launcher and sped down the cave. Jonathan had programmed in a sharp turn to follow the path of the tunnel, along with a detonation delay to about a half second after the missiles completed the turn instead of impact.

Once the missiles were out, he resumed work on clearing the remaining mines. It wouldn't do to have to worry about them on the way back out, after all.

"Aye," Ramiro responded as he finalized the hyperspace route. After beginning fold drive preparation he established a communication link with Dawn Station. "Dawn Station, Valencia-Juni, Eucharis. Requesting subspace and long-range sensor data dating back the previous two years."

Once the fold drive was prepped he set it to standby.

"Alright ma'am. Pending sensor data from Dawn, hyperspace route charted, fold drive prepped. Once we receive the relevant data we'll be ready to roll." Ramiro glanced back at Helen as he spoke before returning his attention to his screen.

Cave

After the explosion, the smoke-filled cave was almost silent, and the remaining mines were quickly deactivated by Johnathan's skilled hands.

Ether - Shuttle Landing Site

Mitsuko looked out from the cave entrance, examining the shuttle they'd left behind. Something didn't look right. "...I um...something's wrong. I'm going to check on the shuttle. It's our only way out of here, even if it's not moving right now." She carefully looked outside before taking off, floating slightly above the snow as she zipped toward the shuttle. Someone or something had definitely been inside while they were busy with the cave.

She was beginning a closer investigation when she felt the ground rumble slightly. Murakami looked back at the cave, spotting a huge cloud of smoke wafting outside. "Oh dear..." She radioed the others, just to check their status, while moving back outside of the shuttle to keep an eye on the approach to the cave entrance.

"Misato-hei, mines are clear. We should be able to use this route for exit with confidence." Jonathan stood and retracted his manipulator arms. Despite the relative lack of activity from farther down the cave, he maintained a defensive posture with his shield out front. "Ready to move forward. I reccommend Bors-hei be positioned in the middle due to the damage he has received, with myself in front."

Cave

Misato turned back to the cave mouth when Mitsuko left. 'Crap in a helmet...' she wasn't please the pilot left by herself. "Kurita, can you follow Mitsuko and give her a hand?" Misato didn't have much time to think about the pilots for that was the point that Darksky announced the mine were all deactivated. "Good point. I'll go first Bors cover me, if you will. Darksky you got the rear." She moved to the end of the hall and poke around the corner allowing her weapon to lead, ready for any enemy.

Ether - Cave

"By Your Command." Jonathan stepped to the rear of the formation, shield up and right forearm weapons pod set to rapid fire, ready to defend their personnel from further aggression.

Cave

At the bottom of the ramp, around the corner, the away team found the entrance to a facility in the form of a giant sent of thick blast doors. There was a control panel to one side, with a yellow light over a lever.

The neko that had been throwing stones lay still on the floor, her body still and blood running from her nose and ears in rivulets into a drain.

"Think we should knock?"

Bors said as he starred at the giant set of blast doors in front of him before switching his attention to the stone throwing neko. Moving over to her he began to search the body for anything that could be of use to the team,

"Chances are that control panel needs a code or something to work, so maybe our friend here can help us out."

Ether

Takeyu carefully moved across the surface, stopping near a boulder when he got Misato's message. He wasn't inept though, he could hear the stress in Misato's voice through the message thanks to years of working as a foreman but also on the Eucharis

He brought up the information related to the shuttle, those who had boarded it for the trip and nodded his head at the names listed. Never hurts to double check, to ensure that person is doing their job, he smiled and glanced over the boulder at the shuttle below.

Looking over his shoulder, he deployed two of his drones and set them to a patrol path around the shuttle at an altitude of one hundred feet. He watched the shuttle, but saw no movement nearby and pondered whether the -hei who had responded was either inside or had gone into the cave - which he'd noticed nearby.

Rubbing his chin with a free hand, he deployed an additional drone and set it to hover just above the cave and literally 'attach' itself like a fly to the side so that no one would notice it. The drone was merely a means to alert him in case something came out.

Of course, one thing he did notice based on the sensor reading was a lack of drone usage from the squad, and that made him shake his head. Guess that's something I'll have to tell them to do next time, he thought and moved around the boulder and slowly made his way down to the shuttle, as he approuched, he began to began a sweep around the area for any hostiles while also taking in the condition of the shuttle.

"If all else fails, I've got my own key." Jonathan indicated the spool of detonation cord and detonators he had brought from the Eucharis.

The explosion from the mine caused Tomomi to fall backwards. She picked herself up from the ground shortly after, glad that she backed away from the others just in time.

"Yeah I will go babysit her." Tomomi responded with a bit of aggravation in her voice after she momentarily deactivated the radio so only they could hear her. She reactivated the radio and went towards the cave entrance. She got there just in time to watch Mitsuko leave in a very unstealthy manner towards the shuttle.

"What are you doing?!" Tomomi radioed towards Mitsuko. Tomomi tried to ultilize as much cover and concealment as possible at the entrance, while still able to see Mitsuko. Then something the others said piqued her interest.

"Don't think blasting those doors will do us any good. I might be able to splice into the facility's systems if the console is connected to a network." Tomomi responded while watching around the shuttle. She thought she saw something at the corner of her eye, but when she looked there was nothing.

Cave

Removing the fallen Nekvalkyrja's fur-lined white coat, Riko found that in her uniform pocket there was some sort of access card, and he was able to fish it out.

Surface

A light snowstorm blew over the area. There was no sign of the enemy for the moment. By now the shuttle's damaged engine had stopped smoking.

"Well looks like your 'key' wont be needed this time, Jon, shame wanted to use my new toy as well" Bors said indicating his plasma torch/gun on his arm as he walked towards the control panel with the newly found access card in hand.

After a brief bit of searching Bors put the card into, what appeared to be the appropriate slot, and put his hand on the lever "Hold on to your butts, we may have a surprise behind door number one."

As he pulled down on the lever he positioned his shield in front of him and leveled his pulse rife at the door.
