Cabin 1

Sune left the bridge and stopped briefly at his quarters. He sent instructions for Tetsuya Eiko on the Firebird via SACN. Instructing her to ship his research containers back to his warehouse. With that errand completed he headed for the wardroom.

Wardroom
Sune stepped into the wardroom and took a moment to check the room and make note of who all was present. There were no new faces, which was definitely unusual.

The Eucharis' wardroom was significantly larger than the one on the Firebird. But it was also very familiar. He watched Lime carry her creations from the kitchen. He had no doubt that what she prepared would be fine. He walked over to the table but did not take a seat.

"Minor power variation..." muttered the Taii as he moved over to another console and fixed the slight drop in power, luckily, nothing serious. He then moved back over to his main console and brought up more diagnostics on the ships reactor and shield before getting up and walking over to the capacitors.

He knelt down beisde one and placed a hand on it; he could feel some vibrations from the inside components as they worked to store power and then transfer said power to systems that needed them. "Good girl," muttered Takeyu with a smile.

As he walked back over to his console, he looked around the bay with a heavy sigh. Ya know, I'd been putting this off... he muttered and searched his digital brain for a request form. It had already been filled out, he just had never submitted it in hopes that perhaps they'd get more techs everytime they returned from a mission. He made a few changes to it, including changing the date today, then submitted the work to the ships XO, Jalen Sune. Probably will be awhile, but I do need more hands, myself and Cherry can keep this ship running just by ourselves but during a battle we can't be everywhere at one time and a lack of a technical crew might come back and bite uss in the ass at some point...

Then he sat down in his seat and tapped on his console for a moment to bring up power status and regulation.

Wardroom

Natsumi stepped into the wardroom just as Lime was bringing the food out. "Oh, that smells good, Lime-San!" she said, taking in a deep breath as she seated herself at the table. Food sounded like such a good idea right now and as usual, it smelled like Lime had outdone herself again

While the cooks were arranging the buffet Sune decided to strike up some conversation.

He walked over to the group, "Good Evening Hei's. So what did you folks do with your time in Kyoto? We missed at the Onsen. It was unfortunate that we had to curtail the leave though. I was looking forward to spending some time in a nice hotel room."

Wardroom

"In the hotel...boning Admiral Hanako?" Cherry asked. She was standing in the doorway having entered behind Sune with her eyebrows raised inquisitively. "I see you have moved up in the world. I don't suppose you'll be making love to me anymore."

Wardroom

Sune turned around and looked at Cherry. He paused a moment before speaking trying to figure out why she would say what she did about Hanako.

"Actually not at all Cherry. When I made arrangements for the hotel, I had not spoken with the Shôshô. I was still assigned to the Firebird and intended to spend several days showing my assistant around the city.

You and I are friends, and we shared some very special time when we were both needing someone. After that time I consider you a close friend. I still do.

But since you chose to ask in a public forum, no I will not be making love to you anymore. Not because I am moving up as you put it. But because I believe that when a person enters into a romantic relationship, they should not be having sex with other people."

He then turned back towards the buffet and the other crew members.

"So it's true," Cherry frowned. "You are in a love relationship with Hanako. And worse, it's exclusive." She sounded hurt.

"Are you jealous?" Lime inquired as she finished setting out the food.

"Jealous of what?" Cherry asked.

"I mean jealous of not having Sune's affection like Hanako does," Lime explained. "Or jealous of not having Hanako's affection like Sune does?"

"No!" Cherry bristled. "I just liked having...a man..." She looked back to Sune once more and stormed out of the wardroom.

Misato watched the dramatic scene that was put on by the new XO and Cherry. She really didn't know ether of them but it seemed a little uncivil to have that conversation in front of the bulk of the crew.

Grinning she looked over at Mimi and whispered, "Never need to watch another soap opera in the vids, when we have it aboard here." Misato hoped the OX didn't hear her but she would take her lumps if he did.

Wardroom

Sune watched Cherry storm off. He was at a loss for words for her tirade. In the silence left after Cherry walked out he heard most of Misato's comment. Such a scene was definitely not normal for him, or the ship.

He turned back to the others and said, "Well, I did not know this was going to be a dinner with a show. Now that we have concluded the show, I suggest we commence with the dinner." He looked at Misato gave a slight nod to his head and grabbed a tray put a plate on it and started putting food on it. He took two small tilapia, a baked potato and some of the baked apples. He grabbed a glass of ice water and walked over to the table and took a seat at one end.

Bors nearly missed colliding with Cherry rounding a corner on his way to the wardroom. Noticing she was cheesed about something he left her alone, not wanting to deal with an ticked off necko who also happened to out rank him. His whole thought on the issue quickly left as the smell of food assaulted his nose as he entered the wardroom. Grabbing a plate he plopped on a piece of fish and a potato, smothering it in butter and sour cream before taking his usual seat and digging in.

"Nice to see you on board again Sir." He said to Sune in between bites of food.

Natsumi was a bit taken back by Cherry's sudden outburst and the quick conversation that followed. She never felt comfortable being around when people were arguing, especially about personal matters. She directed her attention to the dinner that had been brought out, planning what she wanted to get and eat and hoping things between Sune and Cherry didn't get any more heated than they were at the moment.

Once it was over though, she let out a sigh and got to her feet, going over to the buffet and getting a plate of food and something to drink. Once dinner was acquired she went back to her seat by Misato and Mitsuko.

"Did you guys have fun on the vacation, even though it was cut short?" she asked, trying to strike up some sort of conversation with her shipmates.

Hanako leaned forward over her console and looked at the star map on the screen. There were still so many billions and billions of stars and planets out there.

She recalled the words of Taisho Yui: "The universe and universes beyond us are so vast they are effectively limitless. If you feel alone, you are not. If you ever feel safe, you are not. It's only a matter of distance and time."

Engineering

Cherry came through the doors to Engineering with tears in her eyes and rushed over to Takeyu and wrapped her arms around him, sobbing into his chest.

Engineering

It wasn't exactly normal to Takeyu, most people who did this were his sisters, so when Cherry came rushing into the room and began sobbing into his chest, he was caught off guard. The Taii blinked for a few moments, and placed a hand on the fellow technicians head. "What's wrong?" he asked her calmly, taking a small glance at his displays before turning his attention to Cherry.

Engineering

"I feel used," Cherry said. "I did not think I had would have any feelings about it but I do. Sune has become the Shosho's lover and now I can't have either of them. Tell me you wouldn't do that too, Takeyu." The pink-haired technician squeezed herself against him.

Ramiro lay on the floor just outside the Wardroom. He was clutching his sides and rolling around with a tense look upon his face, gasping for air. He couldn't breathe because he was laughing so hard. Luckily for him Cherry took off a different way to get to the Engineering area or else he was afraid she might have shot him where he stood...or laid for that matter.

After several minutes of gasping for air he managed to pick himself up and make it to the doorway before hunching over and bursting out laughing, leaning against the wall for support.

"Hehehe, damn Sune you're the player around this ship aren't you, hehehehe. You're back for one day and you've already got the ladies mad at each other, hahahaha. Ah," he sighed, trying to regain his composure before standing up. "The other people's vacations can wait, it's story time with Sune-Chusa."

Walking over to the buffet line, Ramiro grabbed a plateful of food before sitting down at the table and waiting intently for the story to start.

Wardroom

Sune gave a Ramiro a look that made it clear that he was not amused by his friend's perception of the events, or about his expectation that Sune would discuss something so personal.

Finding his appetite was ruined, Sune pushed his plate off to the side.

"While you may find the circumstances amusing Ramiro-San, I do not. Nor is it the tawdry tale that you are expecting.

When the Eucharis arrived at Hanako's World in May of 34, I was having some problems dealing with the loss of my first 'family'. So I chose to go to a Retreat during the shore leave. Since we are required to travel in groups of two or more, I asked Cherry-San to accompany me. I thought that given some of her troubled past that the Retreat would do her some good.

During our stay there, at her initiation our friendship became more physical. As you already her say, this was not a romantic episode, nor was there a repeat once we returned to the Eucharis.

When I left the ship to go to the Byakuren, subsequent events lead me to request that the Star Army repair the Firebird and put her under my command. Because of the Classified nature of that I am not at liberty to say more. Suffice it to say, I had time to reflect on my feelings about the people I have served with. Especially my friend ship with Hanako-Shôshô.

You were on the bridge and I am sure were able to see that my first return to the Eucharis was not a pleasant experience. When I brought the Firebird back to Kyoto after the mission we were given. There was a message from the Shôshô asking me to consider returning to the ship.

I was uncertain how to respond, and new that before I could answer that I needed to speak with her and let her know my feelings. So Emiko my personal assistant and I met with her at the mall. While we were alone, I decided to take advantage of the holiday decorations and gave her a kiss to demonstrate my emotions. After the kiss I told her that my feelings had grown from just close friendship to being in love. I was very pleasantly surprised to find those feelings were returned in kind.

The rest of the day was spent at the mall for shopping and lunch, and then over to the Onsen. While Hanako and I did some talking, that was the extent of our activities. When she received a communique from the Taisho the stay and leave were curtailed, and as you know we left well ahead of schedule.

The rest you know as does anyone who was here to witness the exchange between Cherry-San and myself. So I hope your curiosity has been sated." Sune then stood up removed his plate and utensils and put them in the appropriate bins.

He walked back to the table, "In the cargo hold are end of year gifts for all of you. You will find a Taichimora Entertainment Technologies Tsuibo Orb, and a Deluxe Visit good at any Kagayaki Cosmetics Day Spa.

I have things to attend to so enjoy your dinner."

Sune walked out of the wardroom and made his way back to the bridge.

Misato was shocked, not at what the XO said but at the fact that Ramiro said those things. Standing up she closed the screens she was working on and mumbled something about needing to walk to Mimi before heading to the hatch.

She didn't make it before her mouth got ahead of her thoughts. "Ittô Juni Ramiro," spoke softly to him, "You are a complete Ass. To laugh at someones emotions..." She didn't really have the words to complete the sentence, she just growled. Shaking her head she spun on her heel and walked out of the wardroom.

Passage ways

Once the hatched closed behind her she slapped her for head, "What am I doing, I just snapped at someone who has a greater rank." As she walked she couldn't come up with a reason for her snapping, she knew it was wrong.

Wardroom

Ramiro was taken aback by Sune's harsh response. Maybe he had come off a bit rough, but the treatment he received was not what he expected. After waiting for Sune to leave the Wardroom, and hearing the outburst from Misato, Ramiro turned his attention to the rest of the table. He has a shocked look on his face as he leaned back and brought his hands up.

"Well holy crap, it's not like I was expecting bedroom details. Man, this coming from the guy who used to let Blackberry makeup his face and dared me and Irenika-Hei to trade clothing."

He pushed himself away from the table to grab something to drink from nearby, mumbling about needing something a little stronger.

Engineering

Takeyu blinked a few times at Cherries statement. Sune? A player? He never seemed that way to him. With a gentle smile, the chief engineer began to pad Cherry on the back of her head. "Now now, settle down," he said softly.

"Sune-san isn't the type of person to play with people, not in the way you think anyway. And I'm sure he didn't mean to imply that, but sometimes what we say can often get misunderstood by others, espically if we are in the heat of the moment or if we are thinking of something else at the time."

With the smile remaining, he stared at Cherries tearful face. "I have no reason to use others, it's not in my character to; however, it is also not in Sune-sans character either. I would suggest you apologize to him when you can, you may have hurt his feelings, and we can't have two members hurt now can we?" he placed a hand on her cheeks. "Charisma, if there any way you can show me anything about what happened in the Wardroom?" he asked the ships computer, glancing partly up at the ceiling in doing so out of mere habit.

"Now, settle down for me please ok?" he asked her, Takeyu was generally treating Cherry almost like a child, but it was the best way he knew of how to deal with someone who was crying and upset - mostly since the only time he had to deal with that was with his little sisters.

Bridge

Sune walked onto the bridge still trying to process all that had happened in the Wardroom. Personal interactions are still so confusing. That outburst from Cherry, they were friends. She even said that she did not want a romantic involvement. 'She just liked having a man.' so why the outburst? And Ramiro... he found the situation amusing.. called me a player. Accused me of playing with her and Hanako's feelings. That is so not my way. he thought.

He walked over to Hanako, he put a small oblong box on the console in front of her. "I picked this up for you while in the mall. Never got the opportunity to give it to you. It is just a charm bracelet; but I thought you would like it.

We never had a chance to talk about our relationship as I had hoped.

A good portion of the crew is now aware of it though. Somehow Cherry found out and she created quite a scene in the wardroom."
