RP: Yome Ismâopate Mission 3.0 – Avenging the betrayed (Pilajo yleg’te )

Murr gave arm and hand signal that she heard. A speech balloon appeared above her and slowly rotated. ::Affirmative :: Then Murr moved back from pointman position as she switched to manual fire from auto-targeting and firing indiscriminately at anything that was bipedal and moving. But still kept the anti-fire locks active so she wouldn't shoot her teammates and the new furless crew. She took the Side of Honor next to Keyul in the Hexagonal patrol pattern.

She moved with deliberate care and with purpose with a lot more caution than the last two time out. She was slowly maturing from the brashness of youth into a seasoned Puko combat vet. She was going to return her Stako without a scratch or personal injury.

"Qo Sar." La'tâ replied to Keyul's orders and made motion to get into the back of the formation. She wasn't going to pretend like restraining her fire was going to bother her, the burst fire of the coil rifle was difficult in the first place and with her poor marksmanship if she didn't put a good pause between burst in the first place she'd just be wasting bullets. Besides her attention wasn't supposed to be centered around putting holes in enemies, it was in keeping her friends as hole free as possible, and that was why she took the back of the formation the position most vulnerable to ambush as well as where she could keep an eye on the rest.

As they team walked through the forest, everything around them was serene. There was very little underbrush to limit their vision or for things to hide. The Stako as the walked through would flush out various birds and animals. The area was completely natural, none of the sensors in the team's Stako had detected anything out of place.

Using the speakers on his Stako Keyul spoke to the team. "This planet is in the Âyemovi star system. It is claimed by the clan, but has not been cleared for settlement. That is why this forest is so well maintained. Other than the people on it now. It has only been visited by crews of Ytaqo'ai. So whomever established the settlement and sky harbor took great risk in doing so. You can expect that once they realize we are here; we can expect heavy resistance. After all those responsible for this place and the death of the Tota and Sogi's family; are looking at either incarceration for the rest of their life or execution. It is possible they could be cast out from the clan, but I doubt that the Tonai would approve of letting such dangerous people go. After all if they attacked our own people, what trouble could they make among the other species."

Ahead of the group the edge of the woods could be seen. Beyond that they could see houses built in the clan fashion. The sensors of the Stako began to come to life. The Emission Scanners picking up on communications, and small vehicles such as ground gliders moving about. Life Detection sensors were showing only Pokuvonai.

Murr listened as she kept alert with weapons ready. Idyllic scenery made her yearn to be free of the bulky Stako and give chase after the animals. This was a type of place she wanted to retire to. She moved with the team, constantly forcing herself to remain focus of her sector.
The place eased her troubled mind as she moved through the well tended forest.

Once the village came into view, helped to get her back in the game again. She looked over the readings that her Stako was picking up. Her weapon shifted into a more alert position for quicker deployment as the edge of the woods drew nearer with each steps.

Murr was ready for any action whether it was hostile towards them or peaceful. She had a job to do. She sent a quick laser signal to Keyul in acknowledgement of his spiel about the place.

Stepping through when it was his turn, Memi felt his guts tighten as he forced himself to move through what he felt was a abomination of science... Not that he didn't believe it was a good thing, he just didn't believe he should have to pass through, what he thought of, the ring of death.

Walking along recording everything with his recording systems, he didn't pay much attention to the briefing. The area was just so strange to him that he wanted to make sure it was all recorded.

"It feels like it would be a shame if we settled too much on the planet, it is rather beautiful." It was hard not to admire the scenery, and just as difficult not to imagine the different fruits and vegetables, with how they would taste. La'tâ managed to stay focused however, now was not the time to loose herself in thought. When the sensors indicated that they were close to a settlement using clan architecture, she turned her external speaker down lower so that her voice did not carry too far.

She was ready for combat as well, these were not the kind that deserved honor but she had to remind herself of their purpose here. "We are here as Wytani'a Galy'u (Enforcers of law), not as Yleg'a Gely'u (Avengers of honor) correct? We are trying to arrest them?"

Keyul smiled as he watched Memi moving with the group. A marked improvement over the last time he saw the Chronicler in a Stako. "Memi, I see you are getting the hand at controlling your Stako. Remember at your discretion, if we encounter hostiles. You are to fall back. Unless you choose otherwise."

At hearing La'tâ comments he replied. "We are not like those Nepleslians. There is a reason that the Mui and the Tonai are controlling our expansion to these worlds. They are gifts from Siamaka, we should treat them as such and not squander their resources. That is why our people are still working to repair the damage to Âmuar from the Yamatai assault against the Many Legs." he looked at his tactical systems showing nothing of concern.

"As for these people, I will not say that part of me wishes we could be Yleg'ai. But yes, we are here as Wytani'a Galy'u. Not it remains to be seen how they choose to accord themselves." He added.

Murr listened to the interchange between Keyul and the rest of the team. She thought to herself, ~~Compassion before combat.~~ Her heart, she wanted a less violent solution as violence would mar this memory. Yet she knew that it would get ugly before a peaceful resolution would come into effect.

From what she could see of those of the village wanted what she wanted or dreamed of. A world without domes on a dead planet in the process of being terra formed or steel tubes that limited movement and too close of an horizon. She had a job to do and this one was going to leave a bad aftertaste.

"Thank you and yes Sir..." he responded as he continued to record everything her could. Memi's plan if there was combat was to try to stay out of it at all cost, but at the same time to record it. He thought he could build up a vid to send back to the peoples back home to show them what the wilderness was really like. Heck if he had see a vid about it he would have found a way to stay in the library stacks, hidden in the dusty tomes and scrolls.

With each step further from the ring of death, he felt his stomach tighten up with a bit of fear. It was a pretty, quiet and peaceful place like this, the first time he had seen combat. His hands itched and his fur around his forehead was starting to get matted from the sweat pouring out. Through only shear will power he continued forward and fought to look calm around his squad. A thought hit him. 'Does Taeto feel fear like this?' He knew she was a build biologic, and that she had joined them to fill the same role as he preformed, but of another unit.

La'tâ nodded inside her stako reflexively to Keyul, but verbally acknowledged as well. "Understood." She switched her rifle to single shot now, she was confident in her restraint, but even if she somehow lost herself and ended up firing on reflex, only one bullet would come out. She turned her eyes back to her sensor read out and carefully examined the situation. She was looking for how many stako class fusion reactors were in the area. "Do we have estimates on their battle power?"

Keyul pulled up what intel they had. "From the sensor data we acquired from the Âmuso Ibâka. It appeared to be attacked by two late model Fighting ships. However, the ship at the Sky Harbor looked to be closer to a Yome Nuiqa. So unlike on the derelict where they were trying for misdirection. They will probably bring out their best."

So far there was no sign of any 'heavy' power systems. Residential section had an almost idyllic look to it.

"Well, let's step out and get things moving." he said and moved his Stako from the woods and onto the nearby road. He queued his external speakers and spoke. "Attention all personnel. I am Sâvyjo'sa Keyul Aaeas of the WAP Yome Ismâopate. We are here looking for those responsible for attacking a Ismâo'a - Class Ship. Kindly clear the streets and return to your ruokai. " He then looked around.

The immediate response to the Stakos emerging from the tree line was for all the people to freeze where they were. Their facial expression made it clear that these people were afraid of their presence.

Murr weapon was leveled and ready for use. But her finger was off the trigger of her weapon. She stayed close to the tree line, yet out of the woods to have a clear fields of fire when it was needed. She looked over the people turning to look at them with expressions ranging from resignation to fear.

She kept up her scans for more bigger threats than the villagers at the moment.

La'tâ was expecting more individuals to scatter about in either panic or fear, but instead they froze. It was a mixed blessing in this situation, now it was easy to identify any possible fighters in the crowd, simply looking around to see who didn't freeze up. However all these civilians were in the way and would make maneuvering difficult if they did not move fast. After a quick look around to identify if anyone was moving, especially towards them, La'tâ decided to encourage the crowd by firing her stako's phased plasma canon into the air, the sound and sight of it would hopefully get them moving.

Even as he watched and recorded the village, Memi's eyes snapped over at Murr's stako. Seeing the weapons shift and move to more of an offensive stance. Opening a comm link, to the whole of the group and not just Murr cause he wasn't all that good with the controls.

"Calm down... they are all just civilians..." As his words came across the open channel, the far and concern for the villagers painted his tone.

Murr was shocked into immobility at La-ta's actions. This would be something she would've done, not their Medic. She recovered quickly and began scanning a bit more in-depth incase La'ta spotted something that rest of them didn't. She could feel the eyes upon her. Her weapon, if scanned, didn't show the tell-tale signs of being recently fire. The barrel was still cool. Primed to fire, yes. But fired, no.

She listened to Memi some how she knew it was aimed at her and her past aggressiveness. She didn't even make an effort to respond as she was a bit miffed, yet another of the team wanted a peaceful resolution or one with less causalities towards the non-combatants.

Keyul had been watching the crowd. Looking for any indications that some of these folks were more than the simple vonaui. He was about to issue a statement to the people telling them to return to their homes and stay there until things were resolved. But all that changed when La'tâ discharged her weapon into the air. It took him a moment to realize that someone had fired a weapon, and that the someone was a member of his team. For a fleeting moment he was concerned that Murr might have done so given her recent aberrant behavior. A quick glance to his status display however showed that is was La'tâ.

The static scene in front of him was now one of absolute chaos. That single shot had the effect of an explosion. Some of the vonaui actually dropped to the ground. Others started running towards any kind of cover they could find. The air was filled with terrified screaming and the keening of baqlii. He saw adults grabbing what were most likely their baqlii and running for their homes or at least the nearest structure.

In less than a minute the area immediately in front of the team was empty. The only sign that there had been vonaui present was the assorted items that were dropped in the confusion.
Keyul took a few steps down the street and looked from side to side. There were no faces in the windows.

Then the team's emission sensors started marking four new sources. Fusion reactors of the size used to power a Stako. "Dâelt yisa" he said across the comm system.

Murr advanced with Keyul, her scanners and sensors on high gain. Detecting the fusion reactors, she went full combat mode, adrenaline flooding her system at a possible recognizable threats. She texted Keyul

:: permission to flank the newest threat from the left? ::

La'tâ watched as everyone scattered, she was relieved to see no one make an approach at them her shot had served it's purpose. Though now that that was done, she saw the four new reactors starting to power up. "I apologize Sar Keyul, but there was a chance that there were enemy operatives in the crowd, I wanted to weed them out by seeing who panicked and who was ready to fight." She took note of the reactors location and then looked around. "We should move out of this area however, but at least we have the location of the enemy stako now."

Stepping back with his stako Memi frowned with in it's armored shell. Things were going bad again, and quickly. Shaking his head he spoke across the open channel. "Should I head back to the vortex, and the ship?" He asked wondering what he could do to help if things really wend wrong and they were to face off with fellow stakos.

Keyul surveyed the town; he was grateful that the non-combatants were inside their homes. It did not mean they were completely out of harms way. But their ruoka would provide some protection. He looked at the area and the location of the hostile plants.

He considered his options for deploying his team, then he heard Memi's question. "I need you to stay here Memi. Your job is to record, and from here you will have a different perspective. Besides Memi, the vortex is closed. The ship moved it for the third team to deploy. They will not open it until the area is secure. After all we do not want combatants charging into the ship by it."

"Murr, La'tâ I want you two to stay together, flank the targets from the left. I will take Alfa and Bâta with me and we'll get their attention. Move out now, limit communications to secure mode only." he sent then motioned for the two others to move with him as he started moving towards one of the roads that was on east side of the settlement.
