"No, we'll be alright with the shield holding. She just collapsed." He helped settle Avel's PA against the sunburn's nose as comfortable as possible. "Medic, when you've got the pilot situated, I think Private Avel could use some aid... of some sort." He crouched beside her for the time being, and continued to take his shots from the new position, waiting for this situation to be properly resolved. Couldn't just leave a... downed teammate down.

"No, we'll be alright with the shield holding. She just collapsed."

"Alright. If you need an assist, just give me a shout. I'm gonna go back to killin' things." Keladrian replied, returning fire at a Mishhu soldier. After taking cover to reload, he repositioned himself to better face the enemy. He wasn't one to run from a fight, but Kel was ready for evac. 'Well, as long as there's plenty of ammo to go around.' He thought to himself as he aimed for another squid.

"Sorry about the delay," Harrison grunted over the SquadCOMM, "I had some buggy software to correct on the way over."

Now, crouched along the low slope where the Alpha defenders were fending off the Mishhu hordes, Harrison was debating the logic of his decision to correct his software. The ex-merc stood up and fired a PAL round into an approaching group of MIshhu, throwing them to the ground and bursting their shields like overripe grapes. The other defenders were doing likewise, and the long-delayed coordinated PAL fire began raining down on the mishhu like deadly... Well, deadly rain. The blossoms of blue and orange energy flaring along the Mishhu lines did nothing to slow down the approaching hordes; though, so Harrison stopped talking and kept shooting.

The Mishhu had finally made contact with the center of the Marine line, and were currently being held back by the Marines, who had shifted strength from the flanks to the center of the defensive line. Various reports were coming into Ran regarding the rest of the Marines holding the city. Things were looking bad, as the Marines at the city were being pushed back to their second line of defense, with the Mishhu already making progress in penetrating that line, as well.

Aiming to take the pressure off the center of their line, the Chief, along with other squad leaders, motioned for his squad to follow him, and started up the hill. "I want our artillery to cover us. Keep those big rounds falling ahead of us while we advance. Walk us into the middle of those fuckin' squids."

Sean popped a few rounds off at another Mishhu before glancing over his shoulder at Henry. "You guys good here? Don't mean to rush you or anything, but I'd bet the Chief could use all of the help he can get, and I can't do much from back here." He quickly sighted in, and hosed down another Mishhu, managing to drop this one. With the current magazine clicking empty, he dropped it, and slid another into place.

"I want our artillery to cover us. Keep those big rounds falling ahead of us while we advance. Walk us into the middle of those fuckin' squids."

"Hoorah!" Grunted Keladrian, falling in behind the Chief and the advancing marines. Major ass-kicking was something Kel was particularly fond of. Taking position along the left flank, Kel ran hard toward the center line.

Popping in a fresh clip of ammo, Keladrian laughed a short laugh, like someone who just did something he thought was easy. "Let's wipe the floor with these sons of bitches Chief."

Henry nodded, "Everything's just dandy here," Making an 'A-OK' with his fingers, "Although I should be helping out, now that the Pilot has been recovered."

He paused for a moment to scan the surroundings, and then prime his Guided Assault Fusion Mortar. However, he needed to find an ideal place to put the titanic ordnance. He remained in a crouched near the Sunburn, watching the field of battle for any sort of entrenchments the Mishhu have made.

He also noted that his shield drones were losing power as more and more fire was sustained over the course of the battle, this was starting to worry him somewhat, and caused him to wait, and continue looking for the next best place to land the mortar to make every hit count. He was sweating inside his armour in concentration.

Pilot has few small burns and some broken bones, but he relatively okay. Alex gave him something for the pain. It was hard to work inside the hostile armor. Luckily AI helped with precise finger work. Alex just fixed pilots broken hand and moved to Avel.

She was behind the sunburn wich was relativel safe position. Alex linked up with Avels armor and saw the woman heart rate is strangely high. "It looks like she is in shock, but that is strange. She isn't wounded at all," said Alex. "I can't give her any adrenaline, her heart rate is already high enough, it could do more damage then help. I could put her to sleep, but then we would have to drag her around. There is still chance she will snap out of it." she said finally. Well this isn't her speciality. If Avel had a gunwound, it would be much more easier.

An endless wave of Violent and disturbing images forced themselves into Avel's mind. Some were memories that weren't hers and others were bizarre distortions of her own. She thought for sure she would go insane but then the images faded into blackness and she could feel her own body again.

Avel first noticed that she was covered in sweat and her her heart felt like it was about to explode out of her chest. She forced open her eyes and saw the the blurred image of a figure standing over her. A wave of horror swept over her. She had passed out on the front line with Mishhu closing in all around her position. "No! I will not be taken prisoner and be made into some squids pet!"

With adrenaline pumping through her veins, Avel swung her foot at the figures legs with the intent of catching it by surprise and tripping it.

"Darn it!" sweared Alex when Avel suddenly attacked her. She was caught by complete surprise. "Calm down!" she shouted when she fell on her side. She was swept by Avels kick, but Alex was trained soldier too. She rolled away from woman and stood up ready to defend herself from further attacks.

Avel could barely make out what the figure was saying but it sounded like 'defective clone'. If it wanted to die then calling her that was the correct course of action. Those were the two most hated words in her vocabulary and the last person to use them had both his legs broken.

Despite her state of mind she was still able to formulate a strategy. "Charge, tackle, grab weapon, hold hostage at gunpoint." Not the most complex plan but it would work.

"F-fucking squ-uid!" Avel managed to force out before doing the most unexpected thing she could think of. She activated the thrusters on her armor and flew towards Alex (Who was only a few steps away.) at what felt like Mark 2.

"Oh crud." said Alex. "You stupid cow! Calm down." She started shouting. She called Alex squid? She must be delusional. Darn Alex can't just gun het down. "I could use help!" she said ovet the communication when Avel activated thrusters and flew towards Alex.

Oh &#@* was all Alex thought. There was only one chance to not get boned. Alex quickyl activated her Push/Pull System system and created repulsion field to stop Avel. She hoped it would be enough to at least slow her down.

The sudden change in speed threw Avel off balance and she slammed head first into Alex. Even under her armor she felt the force of the collision. The two of them were sent tumbling head over heel before coming to rest with Avel lying on top of Alex.

With her head spinning, Avel forced herself to move and grabbed the figures gun. She jumped off and took a few steps back, her new weapon raised. The adrenalin rush was wearing off and her hands were shaking. Her vision was becoming clearer and she noticed the green icons on her HUD.

"What?" Avel looked around and saw the downed Sunburn to her left. "How-When-I.." She asked herself, trying to wrap her mind around what was going on. Then she noticed the figure she attacked wasn't a Mishhu but a Marine and probably the one who dragged her off the front line.

"Oh crap." Avel dropped her weapon upon realization.

The sounds of the battlefield dramatically dropped. As though someone important walked into the room, all the Mishus suddenly stopped mid-attack to look skyward. The marines felt it too, a thick invisible atmosphere that put a weight on every man's heart and made breathing difficult. For a moment too all communications channels went silent as they filtered out the sudden increase in white noise, white noise was all they were receiving. To the soldiers of the NSS Acadia the experience was a familiar one. There was no mistaking it, what was being felt was the combined interdiction field of an entire Mishu fleet that had just jumped in.

In the horizon reinforcement Ripper pods were being dropped and deployed like rain. SMoDIN Artillery quickly responded to the overwhelming numbers with overwhelming firepower, firing every single last shell to keep them from falling into enemy hands. The creeping barrage that ensured created a lunar surface between the Marines and Squids, a three mile gap of nothing but craters and dust. Any Vipers that had also emptied their load quickly landed to evacuate the marines in the precious time it took for the squids to cross the desolation created by the barrage. The Acadia squad were given top priority as they had wounded and were in combat for long. The brand new squad that had just flown in to replace them will most likely be still around when the evacuations stop. The three shuttles that offloaded the new squad switched their loading lights to signal an all-clear to board.

The Chief of the new squad boosted over to Chief Ran, his voice was mellow. "Command says 'good job' and 'get out of there'. We'll take it from here."

Keladrian looked skyward as a wave of pressure hit him. "Holy shit Chief! Things just got bad real quick!" Kel yelled, looking for a place to avoid fire from any squids who might want to use the opportunity to kill the distracted marines. The Mishhuvurthyar fleet that just jumped in began raining Ripper pods, and the Marine Artillery fire that answered sounded like a thousand thunderclaps sounding off right in front of Keladrian. The noise defend him.

After he became somewhat accustomed to the noise of the shells, he noticed three Vipers and a Medvac shuttle land, their pilots franticly waiving the Acadia crew to board. Kel opened a comm channel to the Chief; it was filled with static, probably from the fleet above, but Kel questioned anyway, "Sir, should we head to the evac?"

Repulsion field couldn't stop Avel completely and collision was unavoidable. Avels thrusters were far stronger than the field and it threw both marines on the ground. Alex was luckily protectec by armor and she braced herself for impact. But even when she did that it was pretty hard. If it weren!t for her armor she would have been dead.

"You crazy bitch!" shouted Alex, but before she could get ready Avel took her gun and step few steps away. Alex was ready to shoot a full barragew of mini missiles at Avel, because she didn't want to be target of HPAR fire. But Avel suddenly stopped. "Oh crap," she said and put HPAR down.

Alex immedietly stood up, took Avel and pulled her back in cover of downed Sunburn before they would get hit by stray projectile. She quickly took her rifle back. That was on hell of a schock she thought for herself. It seemed like Avel was completely out of it and now she regained her counsciousness. "I hope you are with me again girl?" she asked, but before shou could get answer a lot of things happened.

Mishu fleet started raining drop pods, artillery started firing to counter it. Some Vipers flew in. Alex didn't quite know what to do now, so she just watched over Avel and waited for chiefs orders.

"Yes, it does seem that things are going rather shittily." The Chief simply said, taking the momentary lull in combat to gaze in awe at a hole drilled through his HPAR by a Mishhu's Gauss Cannon. This would either be the third or fourth time that his main weapon had been rendered useless in battle.

Seeing the Vipers fly in, as well as the Marines at the city engage the newly deployed Mishhu, the Chief simply raised his arm up and headed towards the downed Sunburn, making a circle above his head to indicate to the squad to converge on his position.

"We'll be leaving, now. Looks like these guys have it all covered. I'll save the pep talking and giggling for when we get off this fuckin' planet. Divide up into squads and head into the Vipers. We're through here."

Sean had only taken a few steps before the artillery made a living hell of the area ahead of them. At that point, he opted to simply stay put. After all, it wasn't like too much would survive that storm of weapons grade materials, if anything at all did. Thus, when the Chief called everyone back to the Sunburn, he wasn't far away. Trotting back over, he breathed a sigh of relief. While he had no problem with staying and fighting longer, the sooner they left, the less chance of getting shot. "Sir, should I stick with Henry for now? Since I don't have an official squad yet, I think it makes sense.

Okay. Divide into squads he said? Well no problem. Alex didn't want to slow things down so she just went to the neareset guy in VOID armor. Her computer tagged him as Kingston. She grabbed Avel under her shoulder with words, "I will keep an eye on you." She walked to Kingston.

When they got to man Alex said. "Privates Mayhew and Sitkeas. We got no squad yet. We will link up with you sir." He was private third class like Alex but she added the 'sir' because they don't give VOID armors to idiots and rookies.

Avel let Alex drag her to wherever she was going. Her thoughts were focused on dealing one last blow against the Mishhuvurthyar before falling back to the second line. She glanced back at the downed Sunburn. "With all the advances in technology, why are we still using propeller craft? I mean we have fusion powered-" She stopped in mid thought and an idea hit her. "I got it!" She shouted out loud to herself and asked her suits AI to make various calculations on things such as the blast radius of a fusion meltdown, the distance of allied forces from her position and the potential Mishhuvurthyar casualties. This was her chance to prove she was worth a damn and she couldn't afford any mistakes.

After checking for possible errors in her calculations she sent her plan to the Chief for approval. She looked over at the marines she was currently with. Including the one she tried to kill. "I just came up with a plan to deal one last blow to the Mishhuvurthyar before we head to the second line. I'm just waiting for the Chief to give us clearance to proceed with my crazy plan."
