"I am loving you accent, but is its ok, ill take care of your pin while i am down there... just don´t leave me now... and death is forbidden here"! Natalie said after the injured man became counsious after the quick trip to the Mikomi
Carlos propped himself up onto his elbows and looked down at his leg, reaching out and feeling at it gingerly. "Ow, fuck. I think its fractured..."
Natalie sarcastically smiled at the answer "Well, it could be worse... we´re living hell on earth" - then helped the injured man to put himself into his elbows
"Are you going back down there? It sounded...well, and looked, pretty bad. I dont wan't you to get hurt."
She let out a small laughter. "Well, is the way of the warrior. This uniform says it all, so does my rank. If there´s people down there, i will have to be in the front line" She tried to not her effort be wasted, so she put Carlos head again against her laps ..."Don´t worry about me, i´ll be fine. I´m scarred enough, any other scars will be only just an addition to my hall of scars... now, you better promise me you will be fine, or i will be pissed, you know!... Nobody flies that fast just to mourn a death...
"I promise, I think its just a little broken bone. I should be fine...soon. But you come back alright, I still have to buy you a drink for saving me." Carlos flashed her a roguish grin.
"Well, what an irony... to see a medic himself hurt" She answered with a sarcastic grin, trying to relieve the injured´s pain "Say, would you mind if a woman takes you to the medic bay?"
"Sure, but I think I can walk. It'll hurt like a bitch, but...since when have I ever shied away from a little pain?" Carlos made an attempt to stand, getting up on one knee and gingerly keeping his weight off the other. He rose to his feet, growling in pain.
"No, no!" Natalie forcefully put the man in the floor again "Don´t push yourself that much... you´re the injured here and all... Do it slower, i´ll help" she said with a softer voice, trying to force Carlos to not bear pointless pain
"A-alright." He said quietly, holding onto her a bit so he could shift his weight entirely off his injured leg and hobble along with the one good one he had left. "Thanks. Gah...how did I even break my leg down there? I was dropping and everything went black..."
"Things goes black when you don´t know how things are" She let out a big smile, hiding a true attemp to not laugh at Carlos´s brief description of his experience
"Did you make it down alright? I guess you must have if you're okay..."
"I am okay, well, kinda, i lost all my Phalanx´s drones, mostly of them when reaching you... i got shot on my leg, but it just a small cut... i think i demanded too much of that machine, but that was my error...But, it doesn´t matters, the landing was quite rough for an amateur, but the enemy is being rougher... and the enemy is covering every inch of our movement"
"Do you think we'll win down there? That the captain and everyone will get back safely?" He said, a little bit of concern creeping into his voice. He didn't want to lose anyone down there...
"I am not sure about that, my friend. Everyone is fighting hard, but so far we don´t have a established point to go... we´re seeking answers, but the enemy is so overwhelming that we are only focusing on fighting for our lives... I am so sorry that you ended this way, but we need to make up a better plan... i think we have one or two casualities so far, and i am not counting you as one, of course!"
"Really? Who?" He looked up at her with a frown. People had actually died on their mission already? He hadn't had to face death before, really. Never this close up at least.
She caressed his forehead softly, cleaning his sweat and implying a more relaxed ambient, understarding that his concern was truthful, but pointless "A soldier that falls in battlefield is an honored soul... i cannot give you a exact name, but i know we are facing something bigger that we had in mind" ' she smiled warmly
"Yeah...I suppose so. I just don't want anyone to get hurt...I mean...its one thing to die fighting in a war against someone who's threatening you. Its another to die just exploring some backass planet..."
She understanded the man´s concern. She hold his arms and said "Well, i don´t know about that, but what i am pretty sure at this moment is that you need a medic that is not you. So let me help you to carry you to the medic bay which is not far away from here. And yeah, this is what you call full service" ' she winked
"Hehe, alright, lead on." He smiled up at her and let her lead him onwards towards the medical bay, not well enough to walk on his own without some medical attention.
