RP: 21st Fighter Sq [Mission 5.0] Special Delivery

With some difficulty, Kenshin brought his fighter to a halt short distance away from the Heitan. One of the free recovery vehicles not already busy took note and moved in next to his Kawarime, its manipulator arms moving into place and forming a tight, sealing against the hull.

No longer able to directly control his own fighter, Kenshin leaned back and allowed the operators of the tug to bring his ship aboard the carrier. Once Kenshin and his battered ship were safely deposited upon the deck, he opened the canopy of his cockpit and pulled himself out.

"...Damn... glad that's over with." the young Yamataian said with relief clearly evident in his voice.

Kayoko felt her fighter touch down in the landing bay. Quietly, she ran a final diagnostic on her craft, mulling the fight over. It had been a blur of action -- her digital mind had recorded it all, but the memories seemed disjointed. Not a traumatic experience, seeing as it had been almost all as she had expected it to be, but foreign, and exciting. It was thrilling.

With a sigh, she took off her helmet and opened the Kawarime up. She floated down to the deck, and looked around for others of her squadron -- an especially worried eye on her wingmate.

Errowyn came in smoothly without much trouble when it came her turn. With a nice rollout and smooth braking right into her slot under the guidence of the deck crew.

Her Kawarime was showing some scorch marks and ping and dings from stray debri hits.

Errowyn powered down her fighter and began her post flight checks as she raised her canopy to her fighter.

Elisto brought his fighter in gently, hearing the skids touching down against the hard metal surface. He could hear his skids as he moved across the ground, and into the hanger bay before coming to a stop just short Errowyns fighter.

Giving out a sigh of relief, he sat there for a few moments, before opening up his canopy and looking at his fighter squadron-mates. However, his desire to stay and just relax wasn't on his mind as he sent up a message to Atsui.

Code:
To: Atsui-taii
From: Tereane-hei

Body:

Taii? With your permission I'd like to head right back out in a shuttle to help recover escape pods from our ships.

While he waited for a reply, he jumped onto his fighters wing and knelt down beside the destroyed and useless wavefront generator. He placed his hand inside the opening, noting with his investigative eyes that the thing had blown from the inside. That solves one worry, was concerned I might've actually been hit and just didn't notice a battlepod somewhere, getting back up, he jumped off the wing but took another look at his battered fighter. Unlike the previous mission, he actually brought the fighter back - albiet with some damage.

Anne made sure to see Kenshin safely landing. Her Teisatsu was actually still fine so she decided to hang back a little before others will land. When Elisto safely landed, she decided she could too. She brought her fighter in as soon as she could. Anne landed slowly and carefuly. She quickly opened her canopy and jumped out of her fighter.

"Elisto-san, Murasaki-san are you okay?" She asked as she walked to to Elisto's ship. He was on the wing playing with the wavefront. "Do you really think it is clever to play with that when you were afraid it might explode just minutes ago Elisto-san?" She asked with worry in her voice.

"Actually it exploded in flight," Elisto corrected as he continued to look around the inside of the destroyed wavefront.

Getting up, he jumped back off the wing and onto the carriers deck. "But I am fine, thank you," he said while taking another look back at his fighter. Dents, scratches, and a few other pot-holes in the fighter.

Atsui accessed the Heitan's ship wide channel as well as the task group one.

"Attention Crew of the Heitan, and escort ships.
The attack on Yamatai appears to be over for the moment. Because there is always the chance that the enemy may try to strike again while our defenses are weakened we will be staying here in Yamatai for four days. We are going into a parking orbit over the planet. Initial reports have reported some areas sustained heavy damage while others were able to escape unharmed.

During our time in orbit, all personnel who wish to go down to the surface to check on family will be given the opportunity. Volunteers who want to help recover stranded personnel from the battle may do so. Just as they may also head down to the surface to assist with rescues there.

I could not be prouder of the soldiers who followed me into this battle. Yamatai needed our help, and everyone gave their all.

Atsui-Taii out. "

Errowyn listened to the announcement from the Tia and then moved off the flight deck, letting the deck crew service her fighter. She knew others would more than likely return to space to assist in escape pod recovery. One more out there would only get in the way and when she returned to space, it would be in her fighter.

She entered the locker room and disrobed, putting her gear neatly in one of the lockers that was available, grabbing the readily supplied hygene kit and towel, moved off to the showers to freshened up, while reviewing her actions during the battle.

She scowled as she remembered getting seperated from the rest of the team. Her ship may not be one of the fastest, but it sure could respond well to her commands. She growled softly as the warm water sluiced over her physique, relaxing as the growl turned into a soft purr of contentment as the tension from the battle bled away like the grime from her body.

She debated whether to join in the surface rescue operation or head back to her quarters, study and listen to music as she finished up with her shower and getting dressed in shipboard duty uniform.
