Vincent re-armed his chaingun and stood in a battle stance, feet wide, chaingun barrel held across his chest, facing the window. He cocked his head towards Robert at the comment.

"It sounded a bit like that, yeah... But not that loud, not at all."

Arin clasped her mouth with her hands to stifle a silent scream. Perhaps she should have given them the Black Bullets. "If you wanted to immobilize her, you could have made me ring up something!" She shouted.

Robert gulped at Vincent's reply. Louder probably meant bigger. And it sounded huge enough to eat three Vincents and then have room for a little Nepleslian about five feet tall. He looked over at Arin. "If you can make something that'll hold her, then whip it up and I'll tie her down."

"AH! Grenade!" One of the voices from the stairs yelped as the scrambling footsteps could be heard tossing it down the stairwell in a mad frenzy, "Cain knew we wanted to revolt, I told you!" The captain of the guards
"Damn it, that bastard is omnipresent and shit! Do you think he's Elysian or something?" Another of the guards asked his captain.
"Nah mate, he wouldn't bother with us if he was!"

"I am broken, immovable," Mindwrecker winced, yet remained stoic in the state she was in, "It'll take me a couple of hours to get myself back together, for bones to knit and mental equilibrium to balance. Go ahead and save the world if you want."

THOOOOM...

Another massive smash could be heard coming into the building, and it was getting closer. Luca glanced to his crew to see that they were ready.
"Okay, I'll leave you be," Luca told Mindwrecker as he gave the signal for Robert and Vincent to lay off, "Just tell me what we're up against and we won't bother you again."

"It's similar to Vitriol, the symbiotic battle virus you fought back on Delsauria, but this time it's more potent... and much, much more powerful."

"How much more?" Mel stood up and dusted herself off, pulling out her rifle, "Because the thing Luca fought looked pretty fierce on film."

THOOOOM...

The smash could be heard uncomfortably close, and it could be felt underneath the crews feet, unbalancing them for a moment.
"You'll see, soon..." Mindwrecker said as she drifted off, shutting her body down to focus on regeneration, and then to get as far away as possible, in that order.

An inky black shadow rose above the windows, blotting out the moon, and rising higher and higher, enveloping the span of the massive window and the room with black tendrils and digging in, breaking the windows and only leaving a few spots of light in the ruined dining room.

Two white, jagged slashes ran through the centre of the gelatinous monstrosity, they looked at the crew, and a white crescent of toothy proportions grinned at its next meal to be.

A look of horror crossed Sebastian's face, he took cover by a statue when he saw it oozing through the windows for the first time.
"It's... massive!" Sebastian observed aloud, "How are we going to kill it?!"
Mel, John, Hitori and Mitch were equally surprised, but they stood their ground.
"With a shitload of hot lead, plasma, Xaser, and high explosives!" John observed as he got his GP-12 out and pointed it to the abomination.

SCRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!

The teeth may have opened up into two rows to deliver that screech, but it was impossible to tell whether or not it had a mouth, or a larynx, or anything else.

Everyone froze for a moment, disoriented somewhat by the massive screech, but the feeling passed quickly, for they had work to do.
Luca was swept back a few paces by the screech, but weathered it out, pointed his handcannon forward and boasted, loudly, and proudly:

"COME, GET, SOME!"
Luca fired the first shot into the gelatinous mass, aiming for the 'eyes', they were roughly three foot long and a foot across and somewhat jaggy.
It hit true, but the one hit didn't seem to bother him, then Luca noticed something about the quasi-gelatinous mass. There was something spherical floating around in there that glowed a shade shy of purple, but it was hard to see unless you had a light.

Luca fired at that, instead the gelatinous mass quivered a little upon having that thing damaged. It responded by launching a slimy pseudopod at him, he jumped backwards and watched it smash into the floor, then pulling itself, and some of the tiles and debris with it back to the main blob.
A shot from Mel's Ri-Volver had shook it up some on the way back.

Sebastian poked out from cover and fired his .44 into the gelatinous blob, not achieving much. Hitori had a similar strategy, keeping to cover and unloading all the .22 she had on her. Mel had a similar strategy, firing at psuedopods and tendrils that came out and sticking to the right side of the dining room.

John's strategy was to run from one side of the room to the other, while spraying the contents of his GP-12 into the goo, then taking cover. The phased pulse was playing hell to the monstrosities' molecular system, and was proving to be effective, and it showed. Another pseudopod flew out at John, who took cover behind one of the pieces of the dining table. It got sucked into the gooey mass and broken down.
"Cripes!" John muttered to himself as he ran for cover on the left side of the dining room.

Mitch had a similar strategy with his Xaser pistol, but moved from statue to statue around the room instead of across it.

The elevator doors could be heard opening, but then shutting as quickly as they'd opened.
"Holy hop-mongling shit, guys! There's a massive gelatinous monster there, taking on those Phoenix bastards instead of Cain!" One of the captains of the guard yelled aloud to his platoon, "We can't take both of them on!"
"I have an idea!" One of them could be heard sprinting downstairs, "We gotta help 'em!"

My vote goes to Ys, Oath in Felghana- The Strongest Foe.

Vincent stood, quite stunned for a moment as Cain/Vitriol FusionFuck moved (oozed? flowed? The motion was quite indescribable, actually) through the window. The feeling of mild discumfort in his gut, however, moved from its settled position and was replaced with the familiar feeling of rising adrenaline as he opened fire with the chaingun.

"Eat hot lead, you tooth-blobbed horror movie reject!" Vincent shouted as he pressed the firing bud on the chaingun down hard and began to strafe towards a statue.

Same with Cipher

"What is that thing!?" Arin shouted, afraid. She took cover behind a large broken piece of the table and clutching her Datapad waiting for further instructions to her Fabricator. Her other weapon the ESG already had enough trouble killing things ten times smaller than the monster that was romping through the room. If only someone could tell her what to make... "How do we kill it!?"

Same as the other two

Robert gulped as he saw the thing. Then on inspiration from an action game he had played, he looked over to Arin and called "Hey, can you make any grenades?"

The heavy fire from Vincent's 30mm undulated within the Fusionfuck and rippled it about, making thinner portions of it get blown out into the sky. Vincent noted that shots that hit the 'eyes' made it buckle a little more than a shot into the rest of the blob.

It didn't react well to the invasion and shot a Pseudopod at Vincent, who had a moment to run for cover.

Luca kept on firing the handcannon into the purple nucleus in the centre of the blob, but not every shot was able to penetrate that far into the viscous fluid before coming to a stop and being absorbed.
He took a moment to flick out the cylinder, shake out the empties and reload, when a pseudopod flew towards him, but missed, hitting the statue that Sebastian was using as cover.

John, Mitch, Mel and Hitori continued their fighting strategy, for it seemed to be working.

That's when the Fusionfuck tried something different. The teeth in its smile sunk into the inky masses, came out pointed towards the crew, giving them a moment to piece together what was happening, and the teeth shot themselves out, like lawn darts made of Durandium.

"PH-!" Sebastian and Luca narrowly avoided two big ones, which embedded themselves in the floor and wall behind them.

Another one flew towards Vincent, Arin, Robert and Mel. Mel was unscathed, but the statue she took cover behind wasn't.

As per Robert's request, Arin started up her Fabricator once again. She felt a single potato isn't going to cut it. Drawing inspiration from an old obscure story involving a white whale (She vaguely recalled that the title involved penises, weird) she made two pieces of shaped charges. One had a regular fuse like a normal grenade, complete with pin and everything. The second one was delayed-shock activated. Combined with a vibro-sawn table leg, the end result was an explosive harpoon. The idea was to have it stick into the body of the beast, blowing the first charge which sends the second charge even deeper... Preferably into somewhere vital.

Just as she held it up however, she realized that while she was in her own little workshop world, she was on the OTHER side of Vitrol from the group, isolated. Thinking that she should throw into the creature herself, but afraid she might miss and draw fatal attention, the representative broke down and yelped "Help!"

Robert looked over towards Arin and saw the grenades. He rushed over and asked ''Are these for me?''

Relieved, but still panicked, Arin dropped the Javelin into Robert's hands. Also dropping the responsibility of throwing the thing and being the next potential Vitrol target, she quickly dashed away as far as she can, hands cradling her ears and head looking downwards.

Vincent stared at the pseudopod for a single second before he effortlessly dived out of the way of the first one. Recovering from his primary dodge-roll, Vincent had only just gotten to his feet when the second one caught him like a snowplow, knocking him off his feet and onto his ass.

His very sore ass.

"Ow!" Vincent shouted, shortly after releasing a growl any horror movie werewolf would have shied away from, before getting up and actually moving forward towards the Cain/Vitriol FusionFuck while firing his chaingun, fanning the bullets through the entire body of the thing.

Robert looked at the thing Arin dropped into his hand. "So is there a pin that I need to pull or something?" He looked at it again, found queried pin, pulled it, and threw the grenade/javelin at the thing that used to be Cain.

The Javelin Grenade from Robert, courtesy of Arin sunk into the fleshy, jelly mass. The two eyes that were staring at the group then paid attention to the grenade - and the expression that the crew could read was that of: "Oh, no..."
Luca smiled as the grenade made contact.
Arin, you gem. He thought to himself.

The explosion was a powerful one, and this was with the help of physics. When an explosion happens in an atmosphere, the initial shockwave made dissipates fairly quickly. However, in a liquid, like Fusion, the shockwave stays constant as it ripples through the beast.

This blew a large section of the gelatinous monster away, not only into the sky, but also across the room - but the blob thrown a way from the monster was harmless by itself. Some of it got splashed on Luca, who was somewhat miffed off that his jacket had gotten dirty, again. He grumbled at this.

The blob was trying to get itself back together desperately, when a low whirr could be heard outside, and it was getting closer.
"What's that?" Luca questioned.
"Sounds like..." John interjected as he lowered his gun. He then realised what it was and blinked incredulously, "A ship?"

"Guys! Get down!" A familiar voice could be heard through the loudspeakers. It was Danny, "Duck - quickly!"

Two HEX beams crossed into the firmament, piercing the monster absolutely and unerringly. They continued on an arc, vaporising the beast slowly but steadily, bit by bit.
By luck, one of the beams crossed into the floating purple figure inside the goo, and tore it in two.

The blob gave a sudden quiver - froze for a moment and gave one last screech...

SCRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!

It then flowed like water, falling into the crew, into the sky, onto the nearby floating shuttle and down the fortress. All it did to the crew was be sticky, somewhat smelly and mess up their clothes somewhat. A trip to the Laundromat is required, thought Mel.

"...Hi guys." Danny said sheepishly, over a loudspeaker installed to the shuttle, which was a Jilanth T2. It hovered a few metres away from the broken window, and was turning around slightly, to get the Airlock to the crew.
The Alissa Ame's voice could be heard from the loudspeaker, "Vincent, don't expect me to throw you another favour like this," She sounded bothered, "I'm getting a steady day job after all this shit..."

Something began moving around in the muck, and it stood up, it was a humanoid figure, "Ohh... dear." It sounded like Cain, but much hollower and less powerful. It didn't look anything like Cain once the muck flowed off it either - skinny, emancipated and somewhat skeletal - but the recognisable iron mask still remained.

Sebastian began striding towards him, cracking his knuckles. He lifted him off the ground with his non-cybernetic arm and stared at Cain as he tried, with futility to claw his way out.

"DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH TROUBLE YOU'VE CAUSED?!?" Sebastian screamed at him as he tried to writhe out, "YOU'VE TRIED TO GAMBLE WITH BILLIONS OF INNOCENT LIVES FOR YOUR OWN SAKE, AND LOOK WHAT CAME TO YOUR DOORSTEP!! ME, MY SON, HIS CREW - ALL OF WHICH, YOUR RIGHTEOUS NEMESIS!"

"You... they... everybody... wronged me!" Cain squeaked.

Luca couldn't help but chuckle at the now skinny Cain, "You're like a sheep without his wool, without that medical crap on your back!" That chuckle began to increase in intensity, "All fluff, and no meat! Bwahahaha!"
"Oh, damn, you're right!" John smiled widely in light of this.
"Hahaha!" Mel couldn't help but make the connection, too.
"Oh, wow..." Hitori was giggling as she tried to clean the muck out of her clothes. She took a look at Luca and sighed lightly, Always a comedian, She thought with a smile.

Sebastian smirked, too, and grabbed Cain with his Cybernetic arm.
"Don't worry, Cain. I have something to remember you by," He said as he put his arm backwards, getting ready to pitch, "A shame you'll be killed by your own handiwork, really."
"Now comes the part when you say: 'No, anything but that!'" Luca taunted.

"No, no, anything but that..." Cain squeaked, then he'd realised that he'd done exactly as the father and son had expected, verbatim, "Huh!?"
Everyone grinned as Sebastian got ready to throw, "Any last goodbyes you want to give my old friend?" He asked the crew before he let him fly.

Vincent grunted, opening his mouth to say something snippy and raising his finger in thought. After about thirty seconds of this, he lowered the finger to his side and shut his mouth.

"I got nothin', skipper. Fire away."

"You're going to literally throw him into prison, right?" Arin questioned, but it didn't really matter to her if the answer was in the positive or negative.

Sebastian looked at Arin as he poised his throw carefully, "Something along those lines, yes."
Cain kept on struggling as Sebastian suddenly flung him backwards whilst maintaining an iron grip, and then flung Cain forward, and into the firmament. A shrill shriek could be heard as he made his journey across the night sky, slowly fading out, along with his ambitions.

He landed somewhere on a forested mountain, most likely splattered to pieces.

"Crisis averted," Luca nodded to his father knowingly, while leaning against the window and looking out at the horizon, "Now what? We need to get off this planet... or..." Luca looked around, and figured for a moment that this place wouldn't be so bad to make a base, but decided the thought passed, "Nah, let's go."

"How? We were dropped here, remember?" Hitori said, "We've got no transport."
"And they do," Luca suggested, "Let's go nick one of their ships." Luca opened up the door to the stairs, and found all of the Reds had cleared out when they saw the Fusionfuck. Bootprints and scuff marks were on the walls to evidence this, "And maybe a few other things along the way."

The journey through the destroyed building was an interesting sight, as panels had fallen off of walls, revealing little components that Arin could most likely snatch in a hurry.
Most notably, she'd come across a compressed air cylinder the size of a fist, a length of extremely strong cord, a pistol grip, some circuitry and scrap metal.

Loose ammo and the odd weapon or two was in plentiful supply too, Luca saw fit to replenish his stocks on the way through. He also found two spare magazines for his pistol. Smiling, he pocketed them and a box of 10mm.
He'd also come by a Styrling Shot 12. It was in good nick, it just needed a polish and it'd be fit for service. He also decided to take Vincent's advice and pick up a HHG along the way, too.
Among other things, there was a box of 20 primitive frag grenades, another Styrling Shot 12, another HHG, a GP-12A, two Zen-Arms .45's, a Styrling Longbolt, Styrling Mancannon and, oddly enough, a GP-16 Plasma Pistol. Each had a spare magazine with it. Whatever wasn't picked up by the rest of crew would be carried by Sebastian.

Walking closer towards the Hangars, directed by Mel and Sebastian and laden with goodies, Luca couldn't help but feel roused by the success.

"There once was, a man who...
"Came across as a drifter, a stranger vagrant..."

Luca began humming to himself, giving brief pause before the next verse.

"Known by none, and shunned...
"Came to be, that he's alone, and on the run...
"But one day, a Tuesday...
"Came a man who bought pain, at the end of .45
"Leaving, little....
"In his wake, a barren shell, where few were spared..."

He'd spare the next few verses for later.

Robert noticed the GP -16 plasma pistol and picked it up. "This looks nice." He said as he holstered the gun.

The stuff that Luca thought would pique Arin's interest were no longer there. Either the poor adventurer had been hallucinating from the stress from the long journey or from the injuries of the final fight, or that he was completely spot-on in his assessment of the Representative. Perhaps related, the GP-16 plasma pistol was missing too.

Feeling euphoric over the victory, the loot and the food. Arin strode at the front of the group on the way to the hangar, picking up random items in the process, now for the last two of her immediate needs: A cold shower and a warm bed. She couldn't wait to get back to wherever she might call home now.

"What song is that?" She asked, her interest in knowledge was second only to her interest in material.
