Kyou stumbled, completely off guard and unprepared for Asher's sudden assault (though his performance the day before should've given her ample evidence of how he thought), and missed completely as he turned into the cafeteria area, swiping at thin air as she stumbled. She pursued him into the room though, intent on kicking him in the ass at the very least, completely ignoring Masako at the moment, obviously focused on a different subject. She paid absolutely no attention to anyone else in the room either, save for if they happened to get in her way, in which case she was going to try her hardest to keep right on chasing Asher regardless. "Gonna kill you, you smarmy son of a..."

Rin looked up just as she was finishing up her food to see a spectacle at the entrance to the mess. She probably should have finished much sooner, but, again, it just didn't taste the same and she distracted with thoughts of her various grievances against the vessel they were staying on.

The characters involved seemed familiar. ...From the Miharu? She certainly couldn't remember their names. They weren't officers, otherwise she'd definitely recall them, nor were they sprites, also for obvious reasons. The only option left for them was enlisted. Oh the silly enlisted....

Asher looked back to see the angry Kyou chasing at after him into the mess hall, with several people eating there already. Still, the Malifarian knew better than let the enraged woman catch him. He used his gravity manipulation to decrease his downward drag and his weight, allowing him to make each running stride firing him forward faster, and further. The naughty Yamataian, side-stepped a neko here and there to try and lose Kyou, but then, made a sharp right turn, throwing all of his weight back where he came from to adjust his direction.

Then, he began vaulting over tables, making hand stands over the heads of people eating, and narrowing missing a few plates. Over one of the tables he hopped, he recognized one familiar face. It was one of the engineers from the Miharu, he had seen her in passing, but never spoke to personally. Nevertheless! Kyou wasn't the kind of girl to go through an innocent to get to him, and this could be another way to have fun with her. Hopefully without earning too much of the ire of some near-by officer.

So, Asher reversed his gravity manipulation to put his weight back to normal, almost landing flat on the ground as he tried to stop. Then, in order to get to his shield, he quickly clawed at the ground to slow down his momentum before he reversed it, getting back on his feet and ducking behind Rin.

Rin ducked down to be sure to avoid a collision with the stupid lunatic. She whirled around to continue to watch only to see that he had come to hide behind her. No words could describe how shocked she was at the sheer idiocy of this event, and, taking Asher's actions as an example of what Kyou would do, stood up and lifted herself off the ground with her own gravity manipulation.

Nyton thought over what Tom had said and wondered how to begin breaking open that baggage to share. Before he could do so Tom's broke the news.

Nyton's face broke into a grin before he clapped Tom on the back. "Well congratulations Tom. About time too but better late than never. So when and where is the event going to be or are you two still planning it out?" he said happily.

Tom lurched forward a bit under Nyton's slap, but he grinned back at the Taii.

"All I know is soon," he said. "Yukari's probably talking to Miyoko about dresses right now, actually."

His eyes glimmered as he looked up at a light on the ceiling. The big grin faded somewhat, replaced by a thin smile.

"She wishes to stay amongst the stars," he said softly. "Her story remains unfinished, it seems."

Masako grimaced as she was practically ignored by Kyou to chased after Asher. Though the Warrant Officer couldn't help but wonder what the Yamataian man had done this time. With a sigh, Masako walked into the mess hall to see the relative chaos Asher and Kyou were causing.

"Knock it off you two!" the Warrant Officer transmitted via telepathy to the two of them before glancing up at Rin. Memories of how the poor sprite had returned were dredged up, but the raven-haired neko forced those memories aside. "If you want to play around, please do it in non-crowded areas," Masako continued to transmit to Asher and Kyou.

It was definitely a lot better than shouting over everyone.

"Yeah! Kuro-Juni's right, Kyou!" transmitted Asher to the Miharu people in the room as he hopped up, grabbing Rin by the ankles, dangling in mid-air and kicking Kyoufuu's direction. He seemed to have no trouble holding on to the ankles, and a nice reduction in weight through his gravity manipulation would cut the strain from Rin. The Malifarian pulled himself up some, so that he could hug the sprite's legs, and look out from behind them. "You need t'quit 'causin' so much trouble!" he grinned at her, chuckling through his teeth.

The smile on Nyton thinned down a little. "Yes our roles have not quite played out just yet. I would not worry though. I do not believe this act will be as dangerous as the previous one. I find it difficult to imagine topping such an escapade. Regardless I will not let work prevent me from attending your wedding even if you do decide to hold it in some icy wasteland." he said with a hint of humor. As he had hoped talking to Tom had already begun to improve his own demeanor.

"Perhaps not having a fixed wedding date is not such a bad thing. By then perhaps we can all have finished depositing the weight on our shoulders to the desired destination." Nyton added.

“Hu.”

Yuzuki tapped her crossed heels on the side of the crate idly as she thought that over. The helmet and the shield; to Yuzuki, that didn’t make any sense at all. Was the Shosa thinking of using them, again? Without maintenance? The bioneural circuits in the helmets needed to be checked over after combat, and the HUD’s cache would need cleared. Yuzuki blinked. Perhaps that cache was what the Shosa was trying to keep?

That pricked Yuzuki’s interest slightly. She knew that the Shosa had, for at least a little while, been on a private channel that Yuzuki hadn’t been privy to. What had she seen? What had she heard? Was it pure sentimentality? If it was pure information the Shosa was keen on preserving, why keep the shield? Probably as a momento, or something. Without really realizing she’d decided to do it, Yuzuki was already planning on checking the cache.

“I wonder why,” Yuzuki stated out loud, to break the silence and to start a little conversation. “That sounds a little suspect.”
"Her orders," Tori repeated, her long face made longer by a preceding sigh that came up out of the armor's helmless neck, as her body still was in the armor. Her arms were snaked up to the damaged breastbone skeleton, where she was removing injured hemosynth.

"Didn't get an explanation. She said to make sure the shield was combat capable, and it was; had no real damage. Then she said to keep that and the helmet. Only damage there was the tachyon ear, which is easy to swap out for a new one." Tori grinned as she removed another piece.

" 'I believe I still require them,' " she said in a good imitation of Yukari's Yamataian accent. "You could always ask her."

Kyou skidded to a halt quickly in deference to her higher officer's orders, though the urge to wing a nearby plate at Asher despite those orders was immensely strong. She glared angrily at him regardless, looking straight through their crewmate's legs before blinking, just then noticing that the random person Asher had grabbed wasn't quite so random, and that she actually knew who it was. "Uh..." She still thought the idea of winging a plate between Rin's legs had some definite merits though.

"I'm sorry, Kurohoshi-Juni. I overreacted."

Thankfully, The Yuumi's elaborate interior had allowed for elaborate bathhouses. Kai found himself one with a shower, and took a long, warm one, standing there in the cascading water for much longer than was strictly necessary. Once he had gotten out and dried off, the tall Yamataian inspected the clothes that he had brought with him. The older style jacket wasn't so bad, but the pants would have to go. they lacked any kind of utility, and their much more form-fitting design didn't exactly appeal to the blonde's sensibilities. a quick sniff of his old trousers assured him that they did not stink at all, and so he elected to keep them. They didn't nearly match the old-style jacket, but that did not worry Kai at all.

Walking through the battleship more, Kai found his way back to the room he had been staying in, and deposited his clothing. He looked around, taking stock of what he had left. All he could think of for his worldly possessions were his uniform, and his PA, and those did not strictly belong to him. His collection of wooden swords, the old Katana given to him by a family member, the Nekomachina leg, all of his drawings, photos, clothing, jackets, and what have you, they were all gone. destroyed with the Miharu, or vented into space, he didn't know which. While most of it could be replaced, Kai still felt a little empty for the loss, but, at the same time, felt some strange sense of relief at it.

Not only was his old body and life gone, but the physical objects attached to his memories were, as well. Kai sat on the bed for a while, thinking. He did not have to start new, but he was no longer who he had been, even just three days prior. The Yamataian reflected on the things he'd said and done and thought since then, because, he really had nothing better to do for the moment.

Maybe he would go find Yuzuki, like he had planned on doing.

Rin flailed her arms at the sudden weight on her legs and immediately began trying to kick her legs to remove the soon-to-be-dead weight. "Get off you stu-" she started, about ready to tear off Asher's head, before noticing Masako. The sprite blushed slightly at her awkward position, before glaring death back down at Asher.

"Release my legs, Santo Hei."

Asher let go of Rin post-haste, his nimble feet hitting the floor, and the shifting him a few feet aside. He dropped in a ready stance, staring at Kyou warily. It was almost as if she were the one responsible for the whole mess, by the way he regarded her from his position. He conceded, though, raising his hands up at the Neko.

"So? We gunna' 'ave a nice meal?" he said through a grin. What wasn't evident was the pain he felt in his chest and arm. That little hop, skip, and jump of a mess he caused made his still recovering body hurt again. Then, it even became a little more evident as one of his hands drooped toward his chest and inch and face contorted a little. "Or," Asher continued, a slight buzz of pain in the tone of his voice, "Are we gunna' hafta' run n'chase in a less crowded environment?"

Masako sighed softly as things seemed to calm down almost immediately. "All right. I won't ask what's going on," she stated as she walked up to the trio. "But please don't disrupt people enjoying their meals," the raven-haired neko said before glancing at Asher.

"And Westwood-hei...sit down before you injure yourself even more." Masako put some command into her tone, though she couldn't help but feel as if she sounded more like a scolding mother.

Taking a moment to look up at Rin, the Warrant Officer's expression transformed into an adorable grin. "Come on down, Rin-hei. I think they're done for now."

Kyou nodded, sketching a quick bow to Rin. "I'm sorry if I caused the idiot to disrupt your meal, Rin-Hei. That was not my intent." She went back to glaring at Asher despite her words to Masako, giving her erstwhile companion the evil eye. "And whether or not we can endeavor to have a good meal is up to you and your hands. Or at least it is if you want to keep them much longer." It was obvious that she didn't much care that he was managing to hurt himself (again). This time it was his fault, not hers, so it wasn't her problem.

"Ah, hai." Rin lowered herself back to the ground, touching down gracefully, though feeling embarrassed by the seemingly random smile Masako was giving her. She would have, under normal circumstances, just given the cold shoulder to Kyou, but she had to at least put on a show of courtesy in front of an officer.

"It's alright, Santo Hei. I was done eating anyway," the sprite said, giving a nod. It pained her to do so, but it was necessary.

Asher grunted, taking an empty seat and sitting down, willingly following the orders of Mama-Juni. It was hard to ever take Masako so seriously, considering her face and voice, she seemed more like a little, big sister. Still, her knew when to bend to orders, and the Malifarian sat down, looking up at Rin as she floated back down. He pointed at her, Kyou's words bouncing off the side of his head.

"Ey! I remembah' you now! I nevah' saw y'face, so iss' hard t'tell, but... You were 'dat engineer that Nyton saw'd n'half. I carried you back t'tha' Hoshi! Well. What wass' left of ya, yeah." the Malifarian tilted his head from side to side with each detail, and continued. "So yeah, juss' so y'know, thass' Gunshin Kyoufuu ova' there. N'I'm Asha' Orkin Westwood." He stuck his hand out for a handshake.

"Why don't you stay and chat, Rin-hei?" Masako offered. "Unless you have physical therapy to deal with," the Warrant Officer suddenly thought aloud. "If so, don't let us keep you from it," she finished with a smile.

Masako's palm suddenly met her forehead at Asher's comment before she released a hefty sigh. "I don't think she needs to be reminded of that Westwood-hei," the Warrant Officer mumbled before turning. "I'm heading up to the line for some food. Would you want anything Westwood-hei?" she asked. She was mostly doing this out of courtesy considering the man was injured.
