MISSION 5
AMAYA'S GATE

Miharu left orbit of Yamatai only a couple of days after arriving. The ship had barely replenished its supplies, exchanged a few heads for newer ones and then she left without any progress reports and without notice; leaving some wondering about the sudden departure.

Questions were asked, and the only answers to be found were how the ship had made a brief stop at the end of the Nepleslian homeworld's star system to have the border patrols retrieve Heram Wazu. Nearly as soon as the Nepleslian shuttle had undocked that Miharu had spun around and hurtled away out of Nepleslian space.

From there, few knew of the ship's whereabouts. The NDI outpost of Ether was isolated Nerimian territory so when the vessel had eased into a spacedock, few would even learn that the ship had visited until days later. Princess Kotori had approached the officials there with an appeal for aid for an important long range Black Ops strike that she needed to keep very quiet due to fears that part of Yamatai's intelligence operatives had been taken over by Mishhuvurthyar parasites.

The Nerimians were quickly won over by her plight - they after all had pledged that they would be willing to assist the Star Army of Yamatai in their fight against the Mishhuvurthyar. Resources and time to refit their vessel in a spacedock was something they could provide. A Super Phalanx Construction pad was also a pittance. But at the demand of 32 drone fightercraft - a mix of Tempest and Urikos - they balked.

They could spare 12 Uriko bombers that they would have retrofitted to network compatibly with Yamataian technology by the time Miharu left, but they were unwilling to give any Tempests, or provide more fighters than Miharu's crew could effectively man. The misdeed of SAINT prior to the International Relations Conference were not forgotten and while they did not mean to say that the Ketsurui Princess was untrustworthy, they also made a point of saying that whatever she was going to do... they did not want it traced back to them.

The next couple of days were spent with Tom's technician staff working hard to deliver on the promises the Chief Engineer had made.

The Port Multifunction bay was lined up with twenty-four more M10 'Daisy' power armors with their planetary armament loadout and capacitor batteries for their power supply. The other armors in Hoshi's bays also had their configuration changed to function well either in the vicinity of the Blue Rift's unstable space limitations - or beyond the Gate in the space-time frozen null-aether dimensional pocket where the Second Draconian Fleet was trapped like an insect frozen in amber.

Of particular mention were the Mindy II power armors. Thanks to Miyoko's findings, their forearm weapons and aether generators were adapted to grant near optimal operations despite the adversarial environment the Blue Rift's vicinity offered.

Miharu's hull armor was disassembled, her innards opened to space. There Tom's people worked their magic, not only restoring the ship's propulsion systems, shielding and weaponry, but also adapting them to unstable space operation - again thanks to the information Miyoko had obtained from the Bowhordia datacore.

Most of the adaptations were actually suboptimal in normal space, but once Miharu would enter the Blue Rift Expanse, it was hoped that the advantages she would have from it would perhaps give the crew an extra edge in winning against what still looked like very stiff odds.

It was with lingering foreboding that the escape pods were removed in order to replace them with six palladium cold fusion reactors, four on Miharu's main hull and two on Hoshi.

Finally, the hull was closed up again, this time with the embedded systems required to have Asamoya's energized hull armor functional; another edge for them for when things would turn ugly.

With the repairs complete and 12 modified Uriko drone bombers in tow, Miharu left Ether and then arrowed through space to reach the Blue Rift Expanse. Once it had reached the edge of the expanse, the vessel was forced to go to lower super-luminal speeds in order to negociate safely through the occasional anomalies ad the gravitational eddies the region in spatial flux offered, until they finally found sign's of Amaya's Gate.

Taisa Kotori Ketsurui had the vessel stop shy of the area. Through passive instruments, they could confirm the presence of the gate at extreme range, along with ten other ships: five Nozomi-class scouts that appeared on patrol and five other vessels whom were more closely guarding the Gate itself; Amaya's squadron which included the cruiser Dominion, 2 Vampire-class vessels and 2 Xianthrafruglu-type Mishhuvurthyar gunships.

With the goal in sight, Taisa Kotori gave the order for Miharu to go silent for the moment, deciding to evaluate the situation and prepare to attack the Gate early on the next day.

That day, is today.

Blue Rift Expanse
YSS Miharu NJ-X1-00

"Taisa, it is time."

Kotori gave a sigh as she set a pair of scissors aside. "Thank you, Miharu. I will be out shortly."

She spared a nod to her reflection as she adjusted her uniform - the Star Army of Yamatai uniform - and slipped on a pair of white gloves. Her belt was heavy with the two Type 30 Nekovalkyrja Service Pistols Hanako had gifted her adopted sister. To her legs were strapped the two diamond-bladed knives she favored. The Taisa pin glinted in the light the bathroom afforded.

She turned and left the room. She walked out and then down the flight of stairs, with an odd feeling that it was her first time seeing the bulkheads despite the ship being her home for years.

Finally, she reached the wardroom. Everyone was there - she had requested that the crew, after they had breakfasted and were ready for duty, await for her briefing in the wardroom. Everyone: the hard-working sprites, the newer recruits Kotori was about to cruelly send into a battle they would likely die in, others veterans of more than one mission whom had before faced the Daughters of Eve, and then there were the senior officers.

"Good morning," Kotori greeted the quieting assembly of people before heading for one of the central tables. She rested her hands atop one edge of it and looked at the people assembled again, with the hazy ribbon on the Blue Rift showing as a vast ephemeral road through the viewports to the aft. Her eyes finally came across Nyton.

Nyton had been ordered to bed early so he could serve the princess equally early the next morning. In the baths, Nyton had shared in what had become something of a ritual between him and the Ketsurui princess - in this instance, the threat of this little ritual being the last had given it a somewhat surreal quality.

In this time shared, the princess had also chosen to give the Nepleslian one cryptic piece of advice:

Bath scene JP you will never see said:
Kotori, her black hair veiled by soap bubbles, had turned around to look at Nyton, her amber eyes fixating his. "The time we share here is important to me, Nyton, but there is something even yet more important I must share with you this morning." Her brow furrowed and she added with more emphasis: "It may sound cryptic."

"Of course, your Highness. By all means go ahead," Nyton had replied, ceasing to lather her hair to give her his full attention.

Kotori twisted around and took one of his lightly foamy hands, interlacing her fingers into his. As the Nepleslian awkwardly followed along, she smiled in satisfaction and then asked him: "Do you see my hand? Do you see the fingers I have, that of a Signaler nekovalkyrja?"

Nyton did not seem sure of where this was going, but he had given her a determined nod of acknowledgment.

"It is one of the very subtle differences between a NH-29 nekovalkyrja and any other nekovalkyrja that preceded them," Kotori gently explained. "Today, this little detail will be important."

"I see," Nyton said as he observed and felt the nail-less hands around his own. He still wasn't sure of what she was trying to convey in pointing out the difference, though.

Kotori's smile widened. "That's it," she said, amused by his befuddlement. Her growing mirth was cut off when soap suddenly intruded down on her forehead. She closed one of the threatened eyes and gave a little yelp. "Nyton, help?"

Nyton's quickly took notice and smiled wryly as he made to save her from the offending soap...

Her amber eyes did not linger on Nyton. After she had taken in the assembled crew she spoke, beginning her briefing in earnest.

"Today, we will strike out on a Daughters of Eve installation we call Amaya's Gate. It's a trans-dimensional portal the rogue group has been working in secret to build for several years now and it is nearly complete. The current investigation we've been making in their activities has lead up to this, and it's now our job to make sure they don't benefit from the fruit of their labor."

"Because we have suspicions that Eve has double-agents in SAINT, Miharu is carrying out this operation independently. We will strike against superior numbers without support, but we should on the other hand catch them with their pants down. Our equipment has also in the past few days been adapted to operate much better than theirs inside this region of space."

"This operation we undertake is of crucial importance to the Empire," Kotori asserted. "The criminal Eve comes from the first batches of nekovalkyrja ever created, and has been a nemesis of Taisho Yui for more than three decades now. Whatever goals she has been pursuing has always been to the detriment of the citizenry of the Empire, and the atrocities she's committed are well known. Whatever term this Gate was meant to be used for is not to happen and you are the people whom will ensure it won't."

Kotori waved to the side and a giant volumetric projection of their region of space appeared and then zoomed in to show Miharu hovering a scant 3 light years away from 11 enemy contacts: 6 of them were clustered together and the other 5 separate, navigating around roughly 1 light year from the estimated position of the Gate.

"We have 5 Nozomi-class scoutships patrolling the area and a squadron of mixed vessels guarding the Gate itself. We suspect the mixed squadron is the one with the command ship - the Dominion - along with 2 Xianthrafruglu-type gunships and 2 Vampire-class patrol vessels."

"Because of the gravitic eddies that are in flux in this region, fold-derived technologies, teleportation devices and scalar wave-dependent systems such as aetheric weaponry or power systems will not function optimally save for the Dominion, whom was adapted to the region like we have. Furthermore, we estimate that they have low armor complements due to their workforce being mostly newly created sprites and droids."

"We know the Daughters of Eve also have a squadron of 5 Sakura-class gunships and Eve's personal vessel, the Takumi Command Cruiser. Takumi was heavily refitted to survive passage through the activated Gate, so we can't allow it to get through. We've no whereabouts of these vessels but we must expect their interference at one point or another of our operation."

"Amaya's Gate itself," Kotori began, with a 3-segmented ring-like structure zooming in. The edges of each segments appeared to to have their outer edges flaring into wedges. Where the segments connected there were signs of shuttle hangar doors. The inner sides of the ring had sawtooth-like emitters lining over all the circumference. The whole thing's diameter was only big enough to allow the Takumi through the portal the Gate was supposed to create. "The structure is reinforced with very dense zesuaium and shielded - it is unlikely that Miharu can put much a dent in it with what weapons we have on hand and even having our aether generators go critical likely won't destroy it due to the condition in this region of space."

"We know the Gate is powered by six anti-matter reactors, spaced out so that there are 2 in each segment," Kotori continued. "Aside from shielding the Gate looks like it has minimal anti-armor defenses on its exterior. We know the interior is large enough to accommodate several hundred nekomachina droids. We can assume they will perhaps field NH-18 adaptive weapons, NH-28 NIWS and Mishhumachina, though we've no confirmation of how many."

"Our objective is to capture the Gate, we are only to destroy it at a last resort if we cannot hang onto it," Kotori declared, her eyes narrowed. What she was not saying aloud was that if they could not hold it, it was likely because they would know they are losing and would shortly all be slain. "To that end once our operation starts, Miharu will break stealth, pierce past the patrolling scout vessels and attack the defending group directly."

"The Nozomi scouts, Vampires and Mishhu gunships all pack very destructive, wide effect weaponry that may not work as optimally as they would've under normal circumstances, but we cannot afford to take the chance that they can use it on us. Therefore, the closer we draw them to fighting next to the Gate, the more care they will have to put in their fighting if they do not want to harm their friendlies."

"Once all ten ships are concentrated on fighting us, the Uriko bombers will break CFS stealth from this position and join in, striking as they are concentrating on us and then work to harass the remainder of them as we finish them off. Miharu has survived 11 to 1 odds before - these are 10 to 1 odds and we are better prepared, so we do stand a decent chance to prevail."

"We have a Ryusei fighter on board as well, but this one I am saving up for later. It is not to be used."

"Once Miharu has secured the area, or that we see an opening, the power armors will leave the ship aboard our shuttles to then head for the Gate itself. With subspace detonating warheads we will open up a temporary path through the external energy shielding of the Gate so that our infantry penetrate the Gate from a shuttle hangar. From there, they will work to wrest control of the Gate from enemy personnel and secure any command and control room they should have."

"Miharu, in the meantime, will guard the Gate and prevent any hostile vessel from attempting to retake it."

"You must all remember that this is a pivotal installation to the survival of the Daughters of Eve, one they have worked for years to amass resources for and establish," Kotori warned. "They will likely not give you any quarter nand will ask for none. Make sure that you are the ones coming home, and not them."

"Lastly... well, some of you have noticed the dozen-or-so extra power armors in the port bay. I am coming to that now..."

"The odds of this operation are draconian," Kotori's ears flattened back, as if displeased by what she was about to say. "If the odds are draconian then I must be forced to envision taking draconian measures as well. You will all, once dismissed, head to either of the medlabs we have to have your ST backups done. Just before the procedure, I need you to remember that if you suddenly wake up in the medlab right after the ST backup procedure, it will mean you have died. I will need you to quickly take your bearings and ask for new orders, because we will likely still be fighting and I will need you to jump into the fray again."

Kotori looked again at her crew, took a bracing breath and said: "You are the right people for this task. This mountain was left for you to climb, and I believe in you. You can be victorious." She gave them what she hoped was an encouraging nod and finished the briefing with: "The operation starts in 1 hour. Dismissed."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Kyou closed her eyes, breathing in deeply. She knew they were up against hard odds, but these seemed steeper then expected, and the fact that they went in with the expectation of multiple casualties did not bode well. Letting her breath out explosively she stood up, looked around at the others, and left the room, making her way to the medbay and going through the backup just like she'd done before. With that done (though hopefully not needed), she went to find Masako, to figure out whether they were going to suit up now, or brief tactics first.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Masako sat and listened to the briefing with an impassive expression upon her face, but she didn't feel all that impassive. This would probably be the hardest fought mission of her career, even worse that her first trip to Bowhordia. Including the fact that she may have to be brought back moments after her death only to fight again was even more disturbing than anything else. Part of her believed that she could survive this consider she had yet to die once in her career. However, that was just arrogance. The short Warrant Officer knew full well that she had been lucky and that luck could run out at any moment in her career. But that didn't mean she would allow her enemies to have their way.

Standing up after the briefing, Masako allowed the rest of the personnel to trickle out of the room before she would leave. Her update could wait until everyone else had been through the procedure. In the meantime, the young Neko merely stood and checked her wrist computer. They had no idea what to expect inside Amaya's Gate, but they were to capture and hold it against insurmountable odds. It meant that her armor pilots would have to be spread thinly, which made them easy targets. Truthfully, she would have rather had the upper hand if they were going into a situation that seemed like a breeding ground for guerrilla war.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

In the time since she'd fought Nyton, Tsuya's mood had only darkened. She was no longer afraid - after all, what could be more frightening then failing your superior, then being beaten bloody and threatened by him in the one place you thought you were safe? - but, instead, she felt numb, accepting whatever was going to happen to her and her crewmates. There was little she could do to change what was coming, and all she could do, all she could ever do, was to follow orders.

She was at the briefing a few minutes earlier than the appointed time, and hunched down in her seat to listen, her big ears alert. The information about the next mission was new, but she couldn't find herself excited or astonished. The fact that they were to undertake the mission by themselves was somewhat surprising, but expected, as Yukari had told her that something like this might happen.

Though Kotori (who she had never seen in person before; in normal circumstances she would have been excited, even asked her for an autograph, but as it was she could only manage to watch her with dull eyes) explained that they had a good chance of surviving, and had even prevailed under worse odds, she couldn't shake the feeling that this was a suicide mission - especially since she, as an armor pilot, would be leaving the ship and floating out in a shuttle amidst the undoubtedly-pitched battle - and even if she made it back alive some, or even most, of her crewmates wouldn't. She tamped the surge of emotion down inside her as far as it would go.

Some of the difficulty in quenching the surge passed as Kotori notified the crew that they would all be backed up again before the battle. Tsuya did not under any circumstances want to lose the experiences she'd had (and suffered through, in some cases) since she boarded the ship, however little time it was. It was so much different from Ichiban, and though some of what she'd done had hurt, she knew it had only made her grow more.

As the briefing was dismissed, she nodded - to whom, she wasn't sure - and unfolded from her chair. She was in the medbay before she knew it, waiting in the small line of other personnel before she was able to back herself up. It was just as unpleasant and disorienting as the first time she'd done it, though somewhat helped by the lack of Sanjuro looming over her, and she left the room quickly to let the line pass on. She made her way back to the briefing room and stood there, watching Masako and waiting for any orders the warrant officer saw fit to give.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Yuzuki sat by, and waited, knowing that the line for ST backups would be massive if she went just now, and also knowing that if she tried to stand up, her legs probably wouldn't work properly.

Power armor combat. She didn't want to do it. The very thought made her shiver a little bit. As a Heisho, Yuzuki couldn't lead an armor team any more than she could cook fine pastries or play relaxing music on the Raltian three-stringed Banjo - if something like that even existed in the waking world.

What could be done had been done. Everything was prepared like the Juni had wanted, and then some. But Yuzuki had not been able to come to grips with all of it; inside her head, she was still finding things to do on the ship, to make it operate better. It was difficult to believe that in an hour, she would be putting her life on the line in combat.

People were filing out, but the Taisa was still standing there with an unreadable expression. Although Yuzuki couldn't venture a guess as to what the enigmatic Captain could be thinking, the engineer couldn't help but recall the vision of Ketsurui-Taisa before the hemosynth tank standing and watching the damage with dry but open eyes. Things hadn't changed a bit since then. Had Yuzuki ever stepped out of the medical bay?

She looks sad, Yuzuki thought, the Taisa.

Suddenly, Yuzuki found herself clenching her fists against the table. It wasn't that she was angry, she couldn't be angry, but the sheer weight of everything over the past two weeks - the weight she had been trying to ignore - latched down and settled. Was it fair? Was it hard? Of course it wasn't fair - of course it was painful. But it was also worthwhile. It was like nobody could see it, but her.

When she had taken a few deep breaths, Yuzuki looked up again, the Taisa was still in relatively the same place.

Gathering her feet beneath her, Yuzuki fought back her instinctive need to avoid officers at all cost and found her way through the assembled group, towards the Taisa. It felt wrong. Heisho did not speak to flag officers, at least not directly; that was unheard of. She was wrong. Still, Yuzuki bowed low, and stayed there.

"Ketsurui-Taisa, please forgive me. May I please have a moment of your time?"

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Kotori turned to set her amber eyes on Yuzuki. The grim pall that had been over her eyes misted away, and she smiled.

"Yes, Yuzuki? What is on your mind?"

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Kai sat through the briefing, hearing once again about how bad this mission was going to be, about the odds against them, about how it was likely he would die at least once during the battle. Kai made sure to keep that from his mind, Sure, it was good to know you were mortal, but Kai also knew that the more he thought about dying, the more likely he was to do so in the battle.

For now he only thought about his armor, and the slight modifications that had been made to make it more comfortable and better fitting, which would most definitely help his combat effectiveness. He went over tactics for fighting against the enemies he was likely to come across, and he wondered about the other pilots who would look to him for team leadership during the battle, since Masako could not be everywhere.

The Power armor pilot got up from his seat, and began wandering absentmindedly as he thought to himself, moving instinctively away from the crowd to a more open space near the Taisa and one of the sprites he recognized; the tall Yamataian liked having more space when he could, and hated waiting in lines, he'd rather wait for the rush to be over before getting his Backup.

Aimlessly, Kai began playing with his gun in its holster, looking every bit the person who had too much time and was too lazy to do anything about it, despite the flurry of activity going on nearby.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"Oh," Kotori noticed Kai and gave Yuzuki and apologetic look. "Please excuse me a moment, Yuzuki."

"Nakamura-Hei, could you come over here?" Kotori beckoned the Yamataian man to her.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Kai was suddenly pulled out of his revelry by a vaguely familiar voice, which he recognized after a moment as the Taisa. Turning around to face the two, Kai gave a slight bow, accompanied by a quick "Hai" before moving closer as ordered by his Taisa.

He was somewhat confused as to what the Taisa would want from him, a simple Powered Armor pilot, but he didn't question it. "You needed me, Taisa?" he asked, respectfully, making sure he was paying the proper amount of attention to his commander.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

It was likely the first time Kotori and Kai had an actual, face-to-face talk. Kotori was tall for a neko, but now that Kai was next to her he clearly dwarfed her.

She smiled in good humor. "Good morning, Nakamura-san. You and I have seldom spoken to each other, but you have not gone unnoticed in my eyes."

The Taisa reached behind her to unbuckle a belt pouch. "Since you've left Fort Ready, you have shown yourself to be a skilled soldier, a good team player and you've also proven your valor under fire."

When the hand left the pouch, it was closed up around something. "Because we're presently on a communication blackout, I could not report your meritorious conduct to SAPM. However, as this unit's commanding officer, I am entitled to the right to grant battlefield promotions and thus I hereby award you with the rank of Nito Heisho."

This said, Kotori raised her closed fist and opened it up for Kai to see a 1st XF Nito Heisho rank pin resting in the palm of her hand. "Congratulations, Nakamura-Heisho."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

The promotion came as quite a surprise. Honestly, Kai had not been paying attention to his ranking, rather on being the most effective soldier he could be. It seemed now that the two went hand in hand, and Kai was rather proud of himself. His inner monologue shouted 'Level Up!' as it wasn't quite as mature as his mental filter. "Thank you for this honor, Taisa." Kai answered, joyfully taking the pin and replacing his old one. He smiled at Kotori as he bowed, and then asked one more question. "Was there anything else you needed, Kotori-Taisa?"

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Kotori seemed pleased by the effect the impromptu promotion had on the new NCO. "Just continue giving me reason to be proud to have you serve under me, Nakamura-Heisho. That will be all."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"Thank you." Kai responded, Bowing once more and turning away, riding a temporary high. That had indeed been Yuzuki talking to the Taisa, and Kai kind of wanted to talk to the Engineer sprite, since she looked a little agitated, probably nerves before a battle. Kai knew what battle was like, and figured he could help her.

With that train of thought, the Yamataian hung at the back of the group shuffling out of the briefing room, hoping to catch her after she was done with the Taisa.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Nyton listened to Kotori's words during the brief. His attention was divided though as his mind lingered on the encoded message she had given him earlier. The significance of fingernails was still a mystery to him although his instincts remained on alert for any signal that would reveal to him the meaning behind it.

Then again he also wondered why Kotori was being such a mystery in the first place. Was this something she trusted him to figure out? And why just before such a crucial battle? Either way he knew he had things to do. His fresh ST was a priority since there was no point in risking death and then forgetting about Kotori's puzzle. He would simply have to get used to operating without his cybernetics if he were to resume the battle. An interesting challenge he had to admit and definitely a good sign that would tell him he had been recently restored.

Once the process was done, and a familiar one it was, Nyton rushed on to get to work. The matter of fingernails would have to wait. He opened a communication link with Masako. "Kurohoshi-Juni, be sure all the Armor teams are ready one last time. I will have to assume my post on the bridge before the operation so I leave them to you."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Tapping a few more keys upon her wrist computer, the smaller Neko sighed and switched it to sleep mode before looking up. Spotting Tsuya, the young Warrant Officer gave the other woman an adorably friendly smile. She seemed ready to speak up, but was interrupted as her a link came through a volumetric window that suddenly appeared.

Nyton said:
"Kurohoshi-Juni, be sure all the Armor teams are ready one last time. I will have to assume my post on the bridge before the operation so I leave them to you."

"Understood, Taii." she replied and shut the link down. Sighing lightly, Masako smiled again at Tsuya and glided over to the taller Neko. "Don't be so stiff, Yamada-hei," the raven-haired Neko said almost motherly with a smile. "It's better to be loose and ready when you are out there" she suggested. "Let's gather the teams and head to the Armor Bays. I'll discuss everything once we're there."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Tsuya managed to crack a small smile at Masako and bowed to her as she swooshed over, her black hair falling in front of her eyes before she tucked it back into its proper place. "Hai, Kurohoshi-juni. I am trying not to be stiff, but I am still... unhappy from my sparring match with Claymere-taii. Do you want me to walk with you?"

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Satisfaction. That was what Nyton felt upon Masako's assured reply. It was only two words long but he had faith that she would accomplish what had to be done. At one time that was his position. Now it had been passed on to someone he believed would be able to succeed even further.

With that Nyton moved on. He was about to walk over to where Kotori was but she was apparently already in three discussions at once so he redirected himself to the bridge. It was still early but he had things to do. May as well prepare the tactical console for when he assumed his position. It was time to go all out so he made a quick detour in his room and retrieved his Fast Time Machinery Interface eye. He swapped out his regular general purpose eye and put it in it's storage container. After a moment his cybernetics synchronized with the new appendage and he was seeing through it normally.

Carrying the container with his regular eye, Nyton made a beeline for the bridge. It seemed empty for now but it would soon be busy. He wanted to be ready before then. Taking his seat he then prepared the link cable that would connect fromt he console to the data port built into the back of his neck. "Alright Miharu, lets get this synchronized so we don't have any issues during the battle. Ready the link." he said as he plugged in the cable and allowed his internal cybernetic interface to connect with the ship's tactical console.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"Linking up," Miharu acquiesced. Nyton had this vague impression the ship was looking forward to the conflict about as much as he was. He figured, knowing the ship, that Miharu was more afraid for her crew than she was for herself. After all, the yamataian word that was the namesake for her name meant something along the line of 'watcher', 'sentinel' and 'guardian'.

"Done!" The sentient AI finally announced. "We tried this before back when your helmet was damaged, so this was easier to achieve. How's the interface? Has the rendering precision of the data overlays at a better resolution now?"

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Nyton looked around normally at first and then blinked. The blink activated the connection which caused his cybernetic eye to begin seeing through the Miharu. It was just as the AI had said, the interface was even better now that he was looking through the combined sensor uplink. With impressive resolution Nyton could literally 'see' whatever the ship could see. With a thought he 'scanned' around the exterior hull. After a few sweeps he then shifted and verified he could see inside the ship as well. He saw the briefing room where Kotori was still conversing with Yuzuki. Then his own room where several rubber ducks had begun to materialize again.

Shaking his head Nyton shifted his view externally again. "Alright let me see if I can transmit commands as well as receive your view uplink. Miharu, I am sending mock instructions for the weapons now." he said before he began to 'think' his commands to the weapons. "Are you receiving the data upload, Miharu?"
