Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Nimura eyed Masako as the Juni listed her preferences and went to make her weapon selections, adding two Gauss Bazookas for her secondary and tertiary weapons.

It looked like Nimura intended to be a 'rifleman' only in name.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

So he really didn't even get to decide, really. He got to choose his tertiary weapon, and that was it. Still, He saw the logic in the specified loadout. Kai scratched the back of his head, itching from the odd sensation of having less hair.

"I see no problems" the blond commented.

He idly wondered why they had changed the teams from those that had been posted earlier, but he did not mind. The Heisho knew that Asher was a good fighter, and was glad to have such an asset on his team. He idly worried about the mostly untested Gunshin-hei, but figured that, her being a Neko, she would do fine.

What should my last weapon be? the Yamataian wondered, before finally deciding. He would take a second plasma rifle. they were the most all-around effective weapons available, and so he would take them to make sure he was as effective all-around as possible.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

As the engineering sprites assigned to defense duty left to pick up their armors, in the armor bay opposite of where Masako and her team were gearing up, Tom followed them. He quickly and silently loaded himself into a Daisy, taking the standard layout.

He then returned to his place in the subdeck. The reasons for being in the armor were numerous, but not limited to the mission.

He sent a message to Yukari.
Code:
Yukari,

Do you mind if we have extra visitors to Ralt? I sort of promised the sprites to show them the town after we get back. I hope my parents don't kill me.

Anyway, I love you. Always and forever.

-Tom

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Masako couldn't help but stare blankly at Asher and Tsuya as they seemed to be giddy with anticipation. Apparently, she had chosen right with those two.

Glancing over to the cook, Masako gave the woman a gentle smile. "If you need something to do Shimabumi-hei, you could join the others in defending the Miharu. The assault mission is only going to be comprised of our small core of veterans and newly recruited combat personnel." the Warrant Officer explained before turning to Kyou.

"The 1C armor has lighter armor than our usual ones and its sensor systems are more devoted to space battles than they are boarding actions. Right now, we need a lightning war more than a stealth battle," Masako replied as she brought up her wrist computer again to check for her own tertiary weapon.

"All right, start gearing up. Once you're done, head to the port Multifunction Bay of the Hoshi. We'll use the T5 to get to the gate." the young Warrant Officer stated as she decided upon the LASR-SLAG using all AP rounds for the LASR and a mixture of HEI, Airburst, and SLEX rounds. While it wouldn't do well against some of the more durable enemies, it would probably work well enough upon lightly armored Nekomachina. Masako just wanted the versatility the SLAG gave her.

"I'll be right behind you all," the small Neko stated as she began to strip off her accessories.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Yukari caught the message at the corner of her vision. She smiled, flush with a burst of happiness.

Code:
雪様,

I would be happy to have them. Better that house then my cabin. Be safe, my love.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Tsuya made a small, high-pitched gurgling sound as she watched Masako start to take off her clothes. She turned her back to the warrant officer and ogled the Daisy she would be piloting; stepping closer to it, she took off her uniform in a few simple, practiced movements and took a small leap into the air, letting her inertial reduction carry her easily into the armor insert. She sighed happily as she felt the familiar armor closing around her.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"Kurohoshi-Juni," Hinoto stepped forward urgently to speak to Masako as the latter was getting ready to undress. "May I suggest taking one team in the T4 Fox and the other team in the T5 Cougar?"

"It will avoid having all your infantry in one place in transit and allow you more assets in case the Gate has perimeter defenses we did not anticipate. Furthermore, they will allow you more room to carry spare equipment. Both can settle down in the same shuttle hangar if need be - there should be enough room."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Pausing for a moment as she absentmindedly unbuckled her belt, Masako nodded. "Agreed," she stated. "Sanri will pilot the T5 for Nakamura's Team. Mara with pilot the T4 with my team. Sigurd will be in the T4 with us, but will stay to guard the shuttles and spare equipment." the Warrant Officer revised.

Turning away again, she bent down and began to unzip and slide her legs from her boots. "Also, Hinoto-shoi. What about the Psionic Grenades we appropriated. Would they be effective against our biological adversaries?"

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Hinoto gave a wince. "I doubt it. Most are very well trained psionics, so brute force mindblasts is probably powerful, but crude and easily blocked for them."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Tom opened a volumetric window to the bridge, as he had promised the Taisa. It was located in an out-of-the-way place near one of the walls. The panel had the name "Freeman-Juni" above it, as well as a small space that displayed his Daisy's status with the color-coded system, as well as his physical condition.

Tom peered into the window, and, seeing everyone on the bridge being busy, decided it best not to speak.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Standing up straight, the Warrant Officer nodded as she unzipped and slid the miniskirt of her Type 30B uniform down her toned legs. "Then we will just have to attack with raw firepower if we meet up with them. Concentrated fire from the team on the greater threats. No matter how skilled they are, they won't be able to evade the fire of three soldiers in close quarters," Masako stated.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

After Tsuya's armor had fully closed around her and she had made sure all the systems were working properly, she peered out from her new vantage point at the rest of the armor bay. Her eyes immediately fixed on Masako's legs, and she decided, red-faced, to stay quiet and pretend like she was still busy.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Hinoto nodded, giving Masako an encouraging smile. "I will have each shuttle moved into each of Hoshi's bays and made ready for you. Once you are ready, have each team secure themselves inside their respective shuttles and then transmit your state of readiness to Suzuka-Shosa."

"I will be in the sensor dome and will monitor your Black Knights from there. Best of luck, Juni." On that note, the pale sprite turned and left the armor bay.

In the meantime, the robotic loading arms in the armor bay went in action and went to secured the chose armament on the hardpoints of the Daisy power armors. The extra weapon chosen was left on a a separate holding rack for the Daisy armors to take from their supporting frame from their pilots freed them from them.

Sigurd was already present, pushing the T4 Fox into the wider portion of the port bay while other sprites were readying packages which included some extra ammunition, missile augmentation pods, shields and helmets - not a whole lot, but enough to be a boon if they needed to backtrack back to the shuttles.

Soon, the T5 Cougar would also be in place in Hoshi's starboard bay.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Asher slammed his fists together, his Daisy's studded knuckles making a crashing noise. The Hei was getting pumped, and it only got more obvious when he got the 50mm Gauss Bazooka in his hands. He patted the weapon and chuckled.

"Oh yeah, I'm gunna fuck somethin' up." Asher laughed, picking up his helmet from his pile of clothes and placing it on his head. He looked back to the rest of his teammates and started a stride for the door, destined for the starboard armor bay. "Last one to tha' shuttle's is stinkin'-ass rotten Mishhu egg!"

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Kai made his way to his own armor, for the most part ignoring the goings-on in the armor bay, except the mention of different groups and two shuttles, which he took note of. Stripping down to a t-shirt and some exercise shorts, Kai opened his armor and hopped in, using his Yamataian gravity manipulation to keep his jump smooth and steady, a little twist in the air to bring him down facing the proper direction. a few moments of adjusting his shorts and Kai stuck his arms in the armors' allowing the machine to close around him, the plush synthetic insert feeling much more natural than the synthetic flesh ever had.

Quickly the Heisho put his helmet on, and picked up his spare Plasma rifle, making his way towards Masako. "So, Kurohoshi-Juni, I hear that my team is going in the T5, while yours is in the T4? Will this change our strategy much?" the Yamataian asked his superior

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Miyoko's rebuttal appeared to be largely ignored as Sanjuro continued to busy himself while she spoke, only to be cut off by Yukari's intervention. He had convinced himself that she would simply back down meekly and scurry off and he had no intention of paying her any more mind that necessary...but her mention of Pai elicited a response Sanjuro was not expecting to give.

Sanjuro immediately looked up from his control panel, stunned at first. How she could possible know Pai was beyond him, and made her statement all the more confusing. As he turned and caught witness to Miyoko placing a very familiar datapad atop his desk, the medical officer simply stared, eyes furrowed and mouth slightly agape in confusion. Before he could respond, the science officer had escaped, dashing out of the medical bay. Ignoring the unfortunate Yuzuki for the moment, Sanjuro attempted to give chase. His face contorted in slight anger, both frustrated and confused by her actions, and as he reached the door he barked out her name once into the empty hall. Although the volume was less than impressive, it was perhaps the loudest he had ever spoken aboard the Miharu. Miyoko was already out of sight...but the medical officer had no intentions of chasing her.

Now that a handful of new crew members had arrived for soul transfers, Sanjuro was forced to put the issue aside for the moment as he led in another neko to the machine.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

A smile ever-so-slightly curled around the edges of Rin's lips at the message of Tom's speech. Then, she couldn't stop smiling even as she was dismissed, along with her sisters, and as she went to get suited up in an AMES suit. Of course, Rin wouldn't want to actually intrude on any trip to Ralt that the head engineer would take, but just the fact that it was offered boosted Rin's morale considerably. She knew she would have to try extra hard in the looming mission. It's not as if she could let down Tom's trust, now could she?

The sprite fumbled a bit with the suit, but got it on without any real incidents. She then waited for further instructions from Yuzuki and/or Tom, as well as waited for the mission to begin.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Miyoko was on autopilot for a bit, her legs conspiring to get her as far from the medlab as she could. Sanjuro's shout just spurred her on, and it wasn't until she was just outside of the bridge that she actually stopped to gather her wits. The Yamataian glanced down the hall to make sure he hadn't followed, then leaned against the wall and gave a soft laugh to herself. She hadn't expected her own outburst, and the adrenaline rush that had prompted it was now making her almost giddy... not to mention prompting her to go back and try to finish him off, but she was calmed down enough at the moment to realize that that was a bad idea.

Before she stepped onto the bridge, Miyoko took a moment to gather her wits and put on a more professional-looking appearance. It wouldn't do to practically dance in the door while laughing to herself if the Taisa were already in there, after all. Once she looked suitably stolid, the Yamataian opened the door and walked in.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Right before heading out to the other bay, Kyou paused, hearing Masako's question. "But wouldn't they still be useful? If they have to defend themselves from them, it could provide the distraction we need to get to them."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Nao absolutely knew that life was short, and that it was only going to be all the more precious in the following time. So, for that moment, Nao gave a passionate embrace and returned what affection she could. For most of her life, she was in the background of the Miharu; quiet, hard working, and mostly unnoticed. This one moment, she would remember it for the rest of her presumably short life, because for this one moment, it felt like she mattered. To someone else, to herself; bottom line, Nao felt like she mattered.

And then Nao remembered something. "Freeman-Juni! He wanted to say something to us!" Awkwardly, the two had to come apart, make sure they looked decent, and march off towards Tom's voice. He had already started. The two edged in as discreetly as they could in the back. As discreetly as a pair holding hands. When he finished, Nao and Junko took their time saying their goodbyes, and finally departed.

Junko reported in with Ichigo while Nao did the same with Yuzuki. "Sorry I'm late Yuzuki. For what and where do you need me?" She was practically bouncing on her feet.
