Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Like an ancient cavalry charge Nyton saw the ship approach the enemy with a wild abandon. This was the moment he had waited for! The Aether Cannon would be in range first and he unleashed it in beam mode to sweep it across from right to left at the surprised enemy's formation. He tried to use technical data available to help aim the sweep into the enemy ship's command bridges before shields could be raised. Distance was closing rapidly and the particle cannons would already be in range before Nyton had finished lashing out with the beam. The particle cannons would join in the destructive swath that he was unleashing, opening fire upon those ships already hit (targeting the areas already hit to try and breach them further) and about to be hit in an effort to destroy and cripple as many of the enemy as he could.

Nyton took note of the Nozomi squad preparing to jump. He focused everything on the command group, hoping to get lucky and break the back of the command structure but he kept them in mind. Holding the torpedoes ready, they were reserved as a present for the Nozomi's return to real space.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Seeing how the command squadron's movements were minimal. Nyton found some ease in obtaining good targeting solutions on them. The Miharu's main gun firing arc was narrow, however, and he only could nail two targets.

Noriko's Revenge and Watcher were swept across by the aether beam, though the damage did not prove as decisive as Nyton would've hoped - the Command Squadron had already had their shields up to help their vessels cope with some of the more harmful effects of being in the vicinity of the Blue Rift.

The Miharu's turreted particle cannons could however shear effortlessly through that same shielding.

The Noriko's Revenge tried to veer away from Nyton's attack with the the port-dorsal turret, causing him to miss the bridge and instead strike at the patrol craft's port pulse cannon - ruining the weapon and blowing the shuttlebay behind it open with an cobalt lightningstrike.

Watcher, though, had not been 'watching' closely enough and took the hit from the port-ventral turret squarely on the bridge, scorching its surface black. There was no evidence of a hull breach, but there was no doubt that the electrical discharge could not have done the bridge crew and their instrumentation much good.

The Murmuglu took a hit from Miharu's starboard-dorsal particle cannon but rode out the damage with the field grid of its starboard CDD nacelle flickering erratically.

The last turreted particle cannon struck Dominion directly in the front, but the privateer cruiser's shield crackled brightly, entirely blunting the blow.

Watcher remained moving at a crawl like a blind man while the other four vessel surged forward to counter-attack.

Noriko's Revenge also did not immediately return fire - it instead snagged the Watcher in a graviton beam and then started dragging it further away while it began charging its main positron cannon and deployed its mobile gun turrets.

Dominion lumbered forward still in front of Miharu, reinforcing its forward shields as it opened fire with its ventral and dorsal ship-killing turreted main cannons, joining that volley with four smaller anti-matter turrets that were mounted on the flanks of its center.

Murmuglu and Phramplemulrp, swift as darting fish, jumped into motion by swooping around as a pair to come and attack Miharu from her starboard side, their twin fore-facing heavy positron cannons letting loose.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

No sign of the Takumi... It was the first thought to go through Miyoko's mind once she'd seen the list of enemy ship names, and it worried her. As helpless as the ship seemed on paper apart from its psionics, she hoped that it was just skulking out of sensor range. It was certainly better than the alternative--that Eve was already in the pocket retrieving a personal fleet.

Of course, at the moment, there were plenty of other ships to worry about. Miyoko turned the magnetic resonance sensors on the Murmuglu, trying to get an exact fix on the damage to the ship so that Nyton could capitalize on it while its distortion field was still recovering. At the same time, she activated the graviton beams, splitting as many of them as she could between the two Xianthrafruglu gunships, trying to both slow down their pass a little and drag them forward enough for him to get in some clean shots with the fore particle cannons.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Yukari rolled Miharu on her axis and slammed the ship into reverse, knowing the CFS's properties wouldn't send them hurtling into the screen.

She only hoped it would be enough to dodge the first set of heavy positron shots. The sharp roll might not avoid all of the Dominion's initial volley, but she could not simply blink in and out of existence with the CFS, if she was going to give Nyton and Miyoko good opportunities.

"Taii, shields at 25 percent aft, 75 percent fore!"

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

To Nyton it was as though he were in small squad combat attacking a larger force. The enemy was now attempting to outflank them but thanks to Miyoko's efforts it was not as effective. Now to press their attack even further. With Yukari doing what she could to help them avoid enemy fire he went into his Real Time connection to try and capitalize what he had.

With the ship in a barrel roll Nyton would need as much data on the two Xianthrafruglu ships to better aim with the particle turrets. Do your best Miharu! he messaged as he fed her the orders to focus the turrets to track the two ships. They fired a massive barrage towards them with the fore particle cannons that Miyoko was trying to angle them along with the other cannons to support the field of fire with as much data as he could given their movements. All the data was fed to the tracking set to enhance their chances of hitting. At the same time he locked the AS-7-1-AM torpedo on the Dominion and fired it directly where his previous attack had hit. The time and distance should make the torpedo harder to dodge. No sooner had the torpedo been fired than it would be immediately getting reloaded with another AS-7-1-AM. The main cannon was just as busy though focusing it's beam right onto the Noriko's Revenge where it had been hit earlier to try and capitalize on the damage done. He gave it as much data as he could via Real Time uplink and firing before letting go and going back to his usual console feed.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

The large flaps that covered the base of Miharu's wing-shaped gravimetric engines flared out, the cluster of thrusters built into them to stop Miharu's forward momentum and put her in reverse speed, moving back at 50 000 kilometers per second.

That, and Miyoko flooding the vicinity of the two Xianthrafruglu gunships with graviton particles, helped made the volley of attacks that came from their heavy positron cannons a flurry of near misses. The graviton beams were unfortunately unable to do much against the CFS shielding of the two SMX gunships.

The particle turrets returned fire, but aiming the turrets was a hard affair for Nyton while Miharu rolled on its axis. Three shots went off mark, but thanks to the magnetic resonance focus on the Murmuglu, Nyton managed one last hit on the CFS drive he had previously hit, disabling it and in turn severely weakening the Murmuglu's defensive shielding and FTL capabilities.

His attempt to harm the Noriko's Revenge was equally lackluster as he raked the aether beam across its port side. Unfortunately, the Vampire's commanding officer seemed to have her wits still about her and she evaded more serious damage by flying out of the main gun's narrow firing arc.

The anti-matter AS-7 torpedo Nyton fired impacted with Dominion and swallowed Amaya's ship in a miniature white sun before the Vale-class privateer cruiser moved out of the explosion, its shields still holding and the ship they protected largely unscathed.

Unfortunately, Yukari's order to reinforce the fore shielding went unheeded by Nyton in the confusion of the moment and the pounding they took from Dominion's weapons wasn't a gentle one though fortunately the ship's spinning avoided any of those hits from being concentrated on the ship's prow.

The anti-matter turrets had only slightly bled through, leaving smudges on the prow's armored hull. Dominion's two main gun shots had only been slightly blunted by the shield and still hit Miharu fairly hard at the port base of the rollbar and just over the port side of Miharu's prow, right over the capacitors and regenerative shield generators. The armor at the struck location worsened on the damage diagrams from green to yellow.

Noriko's Revenge released the Watcher from its graviton beam and accelerated, turning around to bring their charged positron cannon to bear on Miharu's port side while its mobile turrets started pelting attacks Miharu's way as well.

The Watcher began moving under its own power and deployed its mobile turrets. It did not attack.

Both SMX gunships for their part strafed to the side in an attempt to keep up with Yukari's previous evasive maneuver, while firing their twin positron cannons again. Murmuglu seemed to lag slightly, allowing for the Phramplemulrp to take point.

Dominion for her part confidently kept closing the distance with Miharu, and fired another volley from her anti-matter turrets and twin main guns.

As for the five other Nozomi scouts, Miyoko took note that the energy spike indicated their fold drives were about ready to be activated.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Yukari swore and adjusted the shields herself — 75 percent dorsal, 25 percent ventral — as she made sure the CFS wasn't going to buckle with her next move. Having Hoshi as a second target would have helped after all.

She took Miharu and stopped her in the roll, but skipped sublight throttle and went straight to CFS, reaching for instant acceleration to more than 100,000 km/s and trying to dive below the line-of-sight of Dominion's main guns. She kept heading straight for the Gate.

"Heisho!" she shouted at Miyoko. "Attempt to slice Revenge's and Watcher's targeting systems!" No time to assign enemy designations.

"Taii, focus fire on the SMX gunships!" she shouted at Nyton.

Kotori could chime in at any time, but the XO knew the dangers in front of her and had nothing else to consider but Miharu's survival and the completion of the first primary objective.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Miyoko was satisfied to see the Murmuglu take a pounding, partially thanks to her efforts, but this wasn't a good time to be thinking about such things. "Hai," she responded briskly to Yukari, fingers flying across the display--for once in her life, she was sort of envying true nekovalkyrja those SPINE interfaces. When trying to do twenty things at once, they'd come in handy.

Miharu, let's see if we can shake the Vampires up a little... She instructed the MEGAMI to deploy a broad array of autonomous hacks against the ships, simply trying to get through to their targeting routines and disrupt them as efficiently as possible. Hopefully the lesser computers would be overwhelmed... but just in case, Miyoko also started bombarding the pair with generated radio noise and tachyon signals in an attempt their communications and sensors. If they were in range, they'd get the same treatment from two of the graviton beams, disrupting their own gravimetric sensors and pushing them away at the same time.

The rest of the graviton beams stayed focused on the two Xianthrafruglu, trying to disrupt their attacks, and the magnetic resonance sensor stayed on Murmuglu, giving Nyton information on the rather large structural weaknesses that the ship likely had by now. Meanwhile, she got the WARMS to work trying to pinpoint the time and destination of the scout group's jump. "Five Nozomis getting ready to jump, probably coming to join," she announced hurriedly.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

You've got to be fucking kidding me! Nyton cursed to himself at his errors. Next time he would be alert to Yukari's orders regarding the shields. In the meantime he had to step things up or there wouldn't be a next time.

"Taii, focus fire on the SMX gunships!" she shouted at Nyton.

"Roger that!" Nyton responded as he tried to narrow in the positron turrets on the two Xianthrafruglu. The data being fed from Miyoko's sensors along with her continued efforts to hinder them was a blessing to his objective. He took note of her report that the Nozomi squad would be arriving soon. They would need to get a little closer before he could put into motion any counterattack.

With the Miharu no longer in a roll it was easier now to focus an intense barrage with all of the positron turrets. The turrets were now intensifying fire on the Phramplemulrp to try and shoot through it and into the Murmuglu as it had fallen behind it slightly.

The two Vampire class ships though were trying to be tenacious so it was time to shock them. With Miyoko also directing energy to make it harder for them to operate he took advantage of this and locked the second AS-7-1-AM torpedo on the more active Noriko's Revenge. As soon as it was set he fired it in an attempt to begin knocking the enemy's numbers down faster. Otherwise it would be a running battle against many opponents and the durable Dominion than just against the flagship.

"Heisho, I need coordinates to attempt a remote detonation of an SDM torpedo that would allow the blast radius to envelop the Dominion while keeping us safely outside." Nyton asked while reloading with a AS-7-1-TA for the next move he was planning.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

The directed beam attacks coming from Noriko's Revenge mobile turrets managed to connect with Miharu's shields a couple of times, but failed to inflict lasting damage on the ship. The more potentially dangerous charged positron cannon and the remaining pulse cannons finally lined up on their target... but before they could be fired a streak of light arced out from Miharu's rear torpedo tubes to strike the patrol ship.

Once it did, the anti-matter explosion's radiance briefly blotted Noriko's Revenge out of sight before the scorched vessel was seen drifting out of control out of the then-dimming light; it's pronged prow withered away, its mobile turrets destroyed and its armor severely scorched.

As the maneuvering thrusters of the crippled vessel flared frantically in order to restore control, the ship suddenly came to a standstill as now - shieldless - it was caught in Miyoko's graviton beams.

Watcher for its part swung around with its positron cannon charging, but before it could line up its own twin pulse cannons on Miharu, the Watcher's mobile turrets locked on Noriko's Revenge and started firing.

Normally the mobile turrets were automated weapons that were more a armor/fighter deterrent than a reliable anti-starship weapon but Noriko's Revenge was now shieldless and badly damaged. Before the Watcher's crew could somehow override the automated firing sequence of the weapons, the mobile turrets had punched several more holes in the ridiculously easy to hit main body of the other Vampire-class, shortly causing it to implode.

On the sensor displays, Noriko's Revenge's icon turned gray. It turned out she wouldn't be avenging anybody anymore.

In the meantime, Miharu and the two SMX gunships exchanged a deadly hail of positrons. Two of Miharu's man-made lightning bolts struck on Phramplemulrp's front, damaging its front spines and putting out of commission what was probably the gunship's deadliest weapon, a transposition array.

In return, two attacks from the SMX gunship heavy positron cannon struck from the starboard side. The regenerative shields did blunt the attacks (contrary to the shielding of their opponents - the regenerative shields Miharu boasted were actually created to effectively defend against Mishhu shield tunneling weapons).

The first one crashed slightly off the nose, turning the armor diagram yellow over the starboard capacitor chamber, and the energy surge of the attack caused the capacitors in the area to lose their polarity, temporarily draining the power reserves hoarded for the main gun by half.

The second struck right over Hoshi's dorsal armor, but a combination of the interference of the graviton projectors and the new energized armor caused the attack to be just at the right speed and angle to amazingly bounce off the polarized hull.

Dominion for its part abruptly lost track of Miharu with its main cannons and tried to track it with its four ventral anti-matter turrets. Some hits over the dorsal armor rattled the ship, but the Miharu's shield again held against the particle weaponry, making the damage negligible.

Tilting hard to starboard, Dominion started turning after Miharu all while both its turreted cannons swiveled horizontally to track Miharu in order to fire on her. Four of the smaller anti-matter turrets continued raining scattered attacks on the Himiko-class prototype.

Miyoko also took note that over the Dominion's pylons were fin-like emitters being deployed from under armored shutters. That, according to the Bowhordia datacore, likely was the Dominion's ship-scale psionic amplifiers coming online.

Watcher meanwhile opened up with its pulse cannons at Miharu, though their mobile turrets again acted up and started firing at Dominion.

Both SMX gunships, undeterred, went in hot pursuit of Miharu with their positron cannons blasting away that the rear-quarter of their opponent.

Kotori momentarily grabbed hold of her armrests to steady herself from the attacks that had rattled the ship and said: "Try to tone down some of our energy usage so we can get more power into the depleted capacitor."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Miyoko clenched her teeth as a few more shots rattled the ship, doing her best to not cry out in surprise. She'd helped see Miharu through worse days... but some of those had ended in the ship basically being a twisted chunk of scrap metal with an atmosphere inside, and she'd like to avoid a repeat of that.

"Dominion is deploying psionic amplifiers," she said tersely as she did the math for Nyton's request. Project the future positions of two spheres--the Miharu and the Dominion--and then superimpose a third sphere for the blast radius such that only one would be in it during the duration. Simple enough, when one had a superintelligent computer at their disposal. Miyoko chose a point slightly forward of the ship's projected path for the detonation, keeping the Vale-class as close to the epicenter as she could while giving them less time to try shooting it down.

With the Noriko's Revenge out of commission and Kotori wanting less power usage, she cut back as much as she could. A few graviton beams stayed on each of the Xianthrafruglu gunships to make them easier targets, but she lifted the communications and sensor jamming on the two Vampires.

She didn't have as much time as she'd like, thanks to calculating the detonation coordinates, but Miyoko was still able to divert some of her attention to the MEGAMI's attempted hack on the Watcher, helping the computer along where she could. Getting that ship's positron cannon out of the fight would be a good start. ... turning it on its allies, a better one.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Yukari would have cheered the energized armor's performance, but the Dominion was bearing down on them.

The Revenge was grey. That helped. Psionic emitters did not; she likely could not out-distance their range. So many weapons were already chasing them. And they had to use less power? Now, when they were under so much fire?

The Shosa cursed as she cut CFS throttle and returned to sublight propulsion, cutting down her power consumption. The smaller weapons would keep hurting them, but Dominion's main guns would kill them. She banked hard and turned around, automatically feeding on the solution Miyoko had drawn. A shield-killer torpedo with X range at Y speed impacts in Z seconds, with Miharu's radial distance from Dominion A at speed B!

Her mind hummed at a pace only a Neko's could, as Miharu curled around roughly the same axis Dominion turned on. The ship rolled and angled itself to present the least amount of profile to Dominion and the Mishhu gunships, but Watcher had a good angle on the ventral side. Yukari put 10 percent of whatever shielding they had left on that side. The pulse cannons on the old patrol vessel were not as stiff as the positron weapons of the other three ships, and she trusted Miharu could suffer another hit or two.

Miharu's prow, however, remained pointed at Dominion as Yukari hurled the ship into the circling arc.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"Understood!" Nyton replied to Kotori's command to conserve power. In that instant he continued to push his assault as best as he could. Given the calculations accomplished by Miyoko for the SDM radius torpedo Nyton locked the coordinates and launched the SDM torpedo and set it to detonate once it reached it's intended destination. Given the angle Yukari had put them in he had to set up his turrets to fire appropriately. Only four had the correct field of fire and he continued to feed the consistent updates given from Miyoko. Along with her use of the graviton beams to hamper the SMX ship's ability to maneuver he put his next move into play.

Nyton locked the AS-7-1-TA torpedo onto the Phramplemulrp and fired it off. The resulting large scale detonation he hoped would create enough of shockwave to rattle the Xianthrafruglu ships while at the same time focusing the four positron turrets on both of them to continue their pummeling. The remaining two turrets locked onto the Dominion's psionic amplifiers and began to open fire on it. With projectiles already enroute Nyton hoped the SDM torpedo's detonation would wipe out the shields of the flag ship and allow the positrons to strike home directly. As soon as each aforementioned torpedo had launched he immediately reloaded with two more AS-7-1-TA torpedoes. His assault did not include the Watcher so much to give Miyoko a chance to continue hacking at the enemy ship's computer systems.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Watcher's situation would've been comical had the situation not been so dire: its mobile turrets stopped firing on the Dominion only to start firing at each other, or the Watcher itself. The remaining vampire-class patrol vessel had its prow aimed at Miharu, but still did not fire its positron or pulse weapons despite the opening.

Nyton's particle cannon shots lanced the incoming SMX gunships, striking Murmuglu once and Phramplemulrp twice before his transphasic torpedo engulfed both ships.

When both SMX vessels were visible again, the toll of the battle thus far became obvious. Murmuglu's shields seemed to have failed and it was leaking either atmosphere or the Mishhu equivalent of HSCS fluids from the rents in its hull. Phramplemulrp's armor had also been savaged, though the damage did not appear to impair its combat capabilities.

Their counter-attack appeared weak, with four positron bolts missing, though the truth was that Miharu's swift maneuvering plus its growing proximity with the Gateway had made for touchy targeting control.

Dominion kept up the offensive with Miharu, but fortunately its main cannons narrowly missed Miharu as Yukari's clever maneuvering had the prototype vessel slip out of the weapons' firing arc just at the right moment. Dominion's turrets struck Miharu's forward shields but since those were being reinforced, the attacks failed to do any damage.

To make matters worse for Dominion, the subspace detonator warhead Nyton had hoarded since the beginning of the battle launched and detonated at the coordinates Miyoko had calculated to ensure only Dominion would be trapped inside the blast radius... and the Vale-class cruiser was immediately deprived of its CFS shielding.

However, Nyton failed to capitalize on that advantage. When he fired two shots at Amaya's vulnerable vessel in an attempt to destroy the psionic amplifiers, the crackling positron discharges veered off and were deflected away - it was just like how Eve's youngling daughter had protected herself back in the Bowhordia underground complex.

Then, something went very wrong.

Blinking warnings appeared over their instrumentation as - as far as they could tell, all four of Miharu's Combined Field System units suddenly had suffered from a catastrophic malfunction and shut down. In the span of an heartbeat, Miharu had lost Faster-Than-Light propulsion and shields!

Dominion was quick to capitalize on Miharu's sudden vulnerability, using a graviton beam to snare Miharu into immobility while making her turn enough so to insure the Vale-class wouldn't be in the firing arc of Miharu's main gun. Also, while the main cannons couldn't immediately be brought to bear, the smaller turrets opened fire.

The three other enemy vessel, like pirahnas scenting blood, darted in closer firing their positron weapons as well.

"Reserve power to armor!" Kotori barked, furiously yanking her gloves off. "Tom! I need those shields back, now!"

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"Heisho, I need those CFS units checked out, NOW," Tom yelled, ordering Yuzuki and her team to investigate the cause of the sudden, catastrophic collapse in Miharu's CFS.

Angered and bitter at the turn of events, the Engineer soon had his fingers flying across his console. The first course of action was to redirect more power to the energized armor in an effort to blunt some of the blows that would definitely be coming their way. His mind raced through other options as well, but they were limited to keeping the ship alive as long as possible. He had to know what had happened to the ship before he or the other sprites could fix it. While he ran his own diagnostics with the assistance of his AIES, he began to issue repair orders to damaged parts of the ship, sending coolant through heated parts of the frame to prevent them from warping further.

He thought of sending YARD pods out onto the hull, but he soon crushed the notion, knowing that the second they came out, they would be obliterated in the hail of gunfire that would rain upon them in seconds.

"GO GO GO!"

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Shields, propulsion, projected energy beams... subspace communication...

What did they all have in common?

Yuzuki nodded to Tom.

"Welcome to the flying squad," Yuzuki sent the volunteers, "Nao - go check the starboard engineering room and the CFS there - Rin, take the Port. Careful of the heat, and glance over the capacitors on your way. Eiko, check the CFS aboard the Hoshi. Go. Now!"

Even as she stepped up to the CFS assembly in the room and knelt down to the breaker box beneath the displays, she was trying to diagnose in her head the cause. It had to be power - but it couldn't be power at the individual assemblies, could it? They all kicked off, at once. The portside assemblies were probably sitting at a little over a hundred and fifty degrees now, owing to the hits that side had taken - a nekovalkyrja in an environmental suit would still survive - and the starboard assembly might as well be offline. The displays in main control had registered the polarity change, and that meant a loss in power.

It was either a major malfunction with the power - a fire or some other catastrophy which hopefully Rin or Nao would catch - or sabotage. Computer error did not seem likely.

Yuzuki genuinely hoped it was the former.

She hooked her fingers beneath the panel, and yanked the cover off, discarding it with a metal clatter.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"Crap!" Nao quickly jumped way and towards the starboard CFS, reaching down to grab a small extinguisher; thinking ahead never hurt too much. The sprite kept up her frantic pace as she neared the CFS. One hand held the small extinguisher, the other brandished the pistol as she moved in. 'I don't get it. How'd they all go out at once?' she wondered. Nao's eyes darted back and forward for any signs of the unusual, and believing it was safe, walked in, carefully keeping an eye out. 'Either we somehow messed up when fixing things, or we got hit hard. Or worse.'

Nao's grip on her handgun tightened as she hastily walked over to the console in front of the gyroscopic structure before her; the starboard CFS. The Sprite set down the extinguisher and began to check for any error messages, hoping such a thing would give her a trail of crumbs pointing to the culprit. She glanced over at the breaker box as well. If it was power related, she'd have to look there. 'Hang on, I can't do all this at once. I gotta slow down.'

Nao holstered her sidearm and proceeded to go over the console in a more orderly fashion. 'You're next buddy.' she thought towards the breakers.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"Ryoukai." Rin quickly headed off to her appointed destination: the port-side combined field generator. But the first thing to check would be the capacitor banks, which were along the way. With her objectives in mind, she went along the short passage way in the capacitor systems chamber.

Just before she entered, she made sure her environmental suit was well sealed. Then, in the sprite went, making sure not to touch any searing metal. After all, burns were one of the worst things for a neko, as they would stop the regenerative abilities. Her eyes immediately went about scanning for any damage.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Eiko acknowledged Yuzuki's command with a "Yes!" before she left in a run towards the Hoshi.

She had a nervous smile on her face as she moved, and she ran a hand along the smooth handle of her firearm which was kept at her side.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"Heisho I need data on that psionic barrier and get that graviton beam off of us NOW!" Nyton shouted quickly while he followed Kotori's order and threw the reserve power into their armor. He figured the barrier had to be similar to the one he encountered on Bowhordia but magnified to the space ship levels. This put a huge spin on things and not having shields or FTL made it even worse. Unfortunately the only way he knew to counter this would be to try and overwhelm it with explosive force and they did not have the means to do this with what they currently had.

In the meantime Nyton had to keep the enemy off of them. Not wanting to waste anymore energy on the Dominion since there was little chance of it being effective he turned his attentions to the three closing enemy vessels. Keep tabs on that Nozomi squad, Miharu. We need to knock the nearest ones out and get moving before they arrive. he thought via his Fast Time connection. The ship had moved due to the graviton beam from the Dominion so his angle had shifted since the last update from Miyoko's sensor sweeps. Also their own graviton beams were no longer helping to make the enemy easier to hit.

Alright lets show them that even with an exposed underbelly we're still just as dangerous! Nyton thought as he target locked the two Xianfruglu with one AS-7-1-TA each. He fired them off as soon as they were locked and immediately reloaded with one SDM torpedo and another AS-7-1-AM torpedo. While the torpedoes were being locked and launched he did his best to work with the latest sensory information from Miyoko to keep the positron turrets firing at both SMX vessels and the Watcher.
