RP: NSS Acadia Mission 5: Quick Save

Cedric found himself instantly caught up in a flurry of action. He began advancing with the rest of the group, firing on Mishu contacts when he could, and trying to avoid being burned by the napalm bombs that were being dropped on them by Mishu air support. This was just ridiculous! The Mishu were using prisoners so they couldn't fire on the Type 32, they had no contact with their support in orbit, and their transports hard been sort of obliterated.

Cedric tried to keep up with their squad leader, which was hard considering that everything was being ripped to shreds, or burned to the ground by enemy fire. Oh well. That was the life of a Marine for you, wasn't it? Still moving forward, Cedric managed to catch up near the cluster around Henry, and took a knee off to their right. From there he fired on enemy targets that presented themselves.

Cedric winced as another napalm bomb set the ground on fire only a few meters to his right.

"I almost wish I was back in construction!" Cedric announced with a nervous chuckle.

The infantryman that Anselm landed near was already reaching for the belt of grenades he had around his chest, tossing aside his rifle that seemed to only be bouncing rounds off the power armor’s shields. The soldiers laying next to him had already ended up with plasma rounds perforating their bodies but that didn’t bother him as he counted down how much time was left on the grenade’s fuses. When the power knocked him down and questioned him he had only one response.

“Your weapons can only kill me.”

The cloned solider quickly pushed himself up towards the power armor and a fraction of a second later the grenades exploded, turning the cloned soldier into a thick cloud of red mist and burning metal fragments. The energy shield around Anslem’s aggressor would flash a bright, opaque, white for just a moment before collapsing, the slowed grenade fragments harmlessly bouncing off the armored plates before the mist began to settle on the paint.

Nearby Harm would land from her jump, using the Hostile’s inbuilt lasers to blast holes into one of the clones who was running across the field, the high energy beam tunneling into the man’s chest in a fraction of a second as a second laser swept across his face, burning the flesh off.

“Don’t play with your food soldier,” Harm would quip as she issued used the suit’s onboard computer to highlight one of the type 32 soldiers with a blue outline for all of the other armors in the group. “Focus fire on the first type 32 and bring down its shields,” She commanded, setting her EMP pistol to a wide spread and firing towards the floating NMX, causing all three to turn towards her. At the same time she would move to take cover behind the burnt out hull of an NMX tank.

--

The shredder would continue flying through the corn field, its wheels occationally touching ground, causing it to bounce upward slightly as it searched for a target. It soon found one in the unmoving Sean, firing a single bolt from its main cannon and a series of smaller ones from its top turret. In an instant the first bolt would strike the hostile’s shields, burning through them and hitting him in the rear, melting the power armor’s thrusters and damaging the power pack, burning out one of his fusion reactors and causing the second to severely overheat. Error messages would begin to pop up on his hud as the rain of bolts from the upper turret began to explode around him.

The Shredder would then get hit by a pair of EMP missiles, the burst of energy causing its shields to crackle, but not fail. In response the vehicle’s lower turret turned towards Victor. The double barreled turret would unleash a volley of bolts towards the aggressor, aiming to saturate the area around him with explosions. At the same time it would perform a half roll, turning its underside towards Victor and firing off a swarm of 24 mini-missiles towards the aggressor.

The gun tower wouldn’t fair nearly as well, having been designed to provide security against people breaking out rather than those breaking in. The thin metal plating covering the upper section of the tower would simply crumple under the torrent of fire from the HPAR. The soldier manning the weapon would end up falling onto the floor of the tower, the light and the gun getting yanked hard enough to point up and away from the marines.

The clone soldiers were getting taken out quickly, the ones closest to the perimeter having been turned onto paste by the more heavily armed power armors. Closer to the inside were the soldiers who had been guarding the prisoners. A group of five now had human shields, each holding a young female dressed in tight fitting orange NMX prisoner garb around the neck with one arm as the other aimed an assault rifle at the Nepleslian power armors. All five were dressed and armed the same with body armor and a belt of grenades around their chests.

The Type 32s would end up landing just outside of the prisoner’s pen, a few Nepleslians now glued to their hulls, others caught up in their tendrils as the aether cannons mounted just under the chins of the creatures took aim at Harm. The aether bolts would cut right through the back of the NMX tank, burning through both sides to reach Harm’s shields.

--

In the cornfield the Nepleslian’s tank would finally arrive, coasting to a stop with its air breaks open on either side, hovering a few inches above the ground while its shields flattened the corn around it. Its turret would turn towards the Shredder, firing its main cannon and machine guns which would bounce off the shields of the gunboat, sending shards of metal falling to the ground harmlessly. It would then follow up with its entire payload of missiles, the weapons burning a trail out from under the tank’s short wings and up into the air before arching down towards the shredder.

The grenade launcher on the tank would then turn towards Victor, firing off a set of three grenades which exploded around him, covering the area in a dense fog that disrupted the mini-missile’s sensors, causing them to go off target and explode around the target rather than hitting it directly.

"Get down, Sir!" Anselm reacted before he was fully aware of the danger Harm was in, knocking the Hostile-clad Nekovalkyrja to the ground and intercepting the Shock Troopers' fire. The aether bolts would strike the armored UMD magazines on the armorsuit, boiling away a significant portion of the tungsten rounds and spilling the rest onto the ground in semi-molten lumps as the EWCs auto-ejected, leaving the BULLDOG in Anselm's hands with only a dozen rounds before the weapon ran dry. Warnings flared as the suit locked down a containment breach in one of its three UFCs, a bright streamer of plasma venting through a split in the Aggressor's durandium shell dwindling to nothing but a heat mark as the fusion generator switched into safe-mode and dumped its output into reinforcing the magnetic screens keeping the fusion reaction contained.

"Watch your back, merc, we've got Nepleslians to save," the marine could have sneered at Harm the way the machine's speakers rumbled, "or did you forget while looking for more of our kin to kill?"

Cedric made his way towards the camp, watching as Harm marked one of the Type 32s for fire, and was then promptly brought under heavy fire. Cedric waited until he was close enough before releasing a swarm of six DART missiles from his right calf hardpoint. He had been taught that they were good for taking out shields. Well, with Nepleslians glued to the hulls, anything that wouldn't blast them away would help. After that, Cedric moved from his last position in an attempt to avoid any immediate counter-fire, and fired on the nearest hostiles he could find with his HPAR as he moved in to the facility towards Harm.

"How many of these fraggin' bastards are there?!" Cedric asked with an odd mixture of excitement and exasperation.

Seeing the situation that Anselm was in due to his actions to protect Harm from enemy fire, Cedric moved towards his location. He knew by simply looking at the situation that Anselm and Harm were in serious trouble. Crouching down, Cedric began to provide as much covering fire for the two of them as possible, while staying some distance away to avoid having them all taken out by enemy fire in return.

"Are you alright?!" Cedric shouted to Anselm, reloading his HPAR as he did so.

Makari decided that the Shredder was the most viable target on the field since it was both a large target and attempting to take out a fellow Nepleslian. As such, Makari locked on to the craft and released his entire payload of BOLT mini-missiles in its direction. He hoped for fireworks.

"So, shouldn't we get moving?"

Lucas nodded to Cedric as he rejoined Naomi and himself. He scanned once more for the signatures of Harm's group, then followed Cedric as the marine started that way. Lucas tried to dodge as much of the napalm falling as he could, hoping his shields would withstand the punishment as the marines continued forward.

As they regrouped with Harm and the rest of the unit, Lucas dropped into any cover he could, looking back over the battlefield and contributing his HPAR's firepower where he could. Looking out once, he caught sight of the Type 32s with their human shields glued to their armor like so much gear on a tank. The sight chilled him to the bone, the thought that these...these bastards would use humans in this way disgusted him, and he found himself vowing to save as many of those people as he could.

First, though, he had to defeat their captors. Piece of cake... he though dryly, letting his own DART missiles fly at the Type 32s while taking shots at the guards when he saw an opening, taking as much care to miss the human shields they had as he did to hit the NMX bastards.

Viktor grimaced at the sight of his opponent's retaliatory efforts. If it didn't do him in, it'd sure as hell ruin his day completely. That said, he dropped the AOP and snatched the AMP from the Aggressor's backside. He began unloading on the missile barrage, his PLAs also lighting up. Then the tank smothered him in a fog that sent a good deal of his external sensors awry. He immediately stopped firing and retreated from the plume, thankful for the save. He spared a quick second to relay his gratefulness to the tank's crew before doing as Harm commanded and heading for the compound.

Then he was back with the squad, his AOP forgotten- and the loss would soon be regretted, but for now it was lost to his anger at both the Misshu for their incessant aggression and his teammates for failing to realize a really dangerous target and leaving him alone. If the tank hadn't arrived, he would have been on the KIA list for certain.

But Kingston was one for focus, and right then he was focused on the mission, despite his fury. Take out the Type 32s, she'd said, so he let loose with the AMP, and freed a full salvo of BOLT missiles to rain down upon the nearest Misshu Power Armor.

Matteo cleared the rest of the way to the prison wall with a single bound, just in time to witness Anselm get covered with a fine red mist not too far away. The heavy Hostile slammed into hard cement cover from fire streaming out of the compound, and risked a glance back at the cornfield. What he saw, made his eyes pop open in surprise. 'What are they thinking, taking on that Shredder?!'. As missiles streaked from its hull towards another Marine, he leaned out and fired a short burst with his HPAR at the swarm before smoke was cast.

The Hostile ran inside, and as soon as it caught a glimpse of the Type 32's plus prisoners, backed off into hard cover again. "Clever bastards." he simply spoke. They weren't the only problem either; more prisoners were lined up and held as shields. Head on wouldn't work.

"Ma'am, I hate to point out the obvious, but they're using human shields. I hope you know what to do next!"

Luke had entered the battle rather unconventionally; failing his power armour jump he had knocked himself unconcious from his haste to exit his craft, and until now had been temporarily disabled from combat. However, he quickly came back into the realm of conciousness, and regrouped with his squadmates.

Taking his HPAR, Luke saw NMX firing and being fired upon by the Acadian troops; if they could really be called Acadian right now.

Luke held his fire, stunned by the atomosphere around him; not exactly sure what he should really be doing right now, just watching the people around him engaging in combat that really seemed to be an art-form.

Luke watched as an NMX bullet narrowly missed him and awoke from his daze. Raising his rifle, he dolphin dived onto the ground, before taking aim.

Luke realised his fellow troops had moved further from the field already, and he was being left beind.

Luke ran rather uncaustiously, blindfiring the weapon both sides of him simply act as suppressing fire, rather than bullets actually designed to killed.

“WHAT THE FUCK!?” Harm shouted as an aggressor armor plowed into her from the side, leaving her own armor half buried in the ground. At the same time the Type 32 Mishhu were hit by a swarm of missiles launched by different power armors. Their shields would fail after absorbing so much damage, leaving a fine mist of metallic particles around them from the missile remains.

While on the ground, partially exposed to the Type 32s, Harm would lift the pair of armors up so she could take aim at one of the Type 32s with the PPG built into her power armor. While laying on the ground she would line up the system with an imaginary point between the Type 32’s eyes, her best guess as to where its brain was located, and took the shot. The gravity beam would lance out, crushing an exposed leg on a Nepleslian female glued to the Type 32 and harmlessly tugging against the creature’s outer skin. Though no visible marks were left on the creature it would instantly fall to the ground, its tentacles and gun turrets going limp.

The remaining two would crouch down, trying to put as much of their hostages between them and their power armored opponents as possible as they opened fire on the aggressor that had just plowed their previous target into the ground. Anslem would be able to feel the heat starting to bleed through the armor at this point as bolts began melting the armor on his right arm and leg, locking the pieces into place under molten durandium. His HUD was streaming virtually every warning that the aggressor had as the feminine voice of its computer system strongly started suggesting he abandon the armor.

Harm would then end up pushing the aggressor off of her, rolling it over next to the tank as its damage indicators were displayed on her HUD. She would tear off an HHG, some ammo, and two fragmentation grenades that had all been glued to her armor and leave them on the ground near the aggressor before calling out, “Need a mechanic here!” and leaving a virtual location marker for the other armors to see on their HUDs.

---

Cedric would have some success in getting the clone soldiers to back off. Most had already been killed, leaving many duplicate bodies on the ground either bleeding out or missing major body parts entirely. The remaining NMX clones were either holding their hostages or scrambling to get behind tanks or into the science building next to the slave pen where they could use the small window slits as a make-shift pillbox.

As he ran across the space between the two fences blocking off the compound the ground would suddenly give way under him, dropping him down into a dark, damp, trench made out of a sickly green metal. A small trickle of water was running through the bottom of the trench and the hole that had just opened to let him in was already sealed off with a jet black force field. A secondary field then powered on in front of him, slowly sweeping forward in an effort to funnel him further one direction down the unlit tunnel.

---

Lucas would soon end up in the same predicament as Cedric, the ground giving way as he ran across the space between the two fences. A force field would pull his armor down into a tunnel right after Cedric. He wouldn’t get a chance to see his missiles hit the target, or how Harm was now able to shoot down the Type 32s now that their shields were out. Instead he found himself in the unlit tunnel, the way above him blocked off with a black force field that prevented any light from the outside from coming into the tunnel.

Another force field would then spring into existence, slowly moving in one direction to force him in the same direction that Cedric was being forced. However the force field designed to move Cedric along was also in place just a few feet further down the tunnel, trapping Lucas in a small slowly moving bubble.

---

Kingston’s assault had helped bring down the Type 32’s shields, but the AMP rounds would start impacting against the Type 32’s skin, ripping out chunks of metal and flesh alike from both the skin of the creature and the bodies of the Nepleslians attached to it. One hostage had already passed out, but a young Nepleslian woman glued to the side was screaming as her legs were amputated just above the knees by the AMP.

---

Matteo would quickly get his response from Harm that was broadcast to all the armors.

“Get in close guys, if you have a PPG system on your armor aim for the Type 32’s heads otherwise get up close to the ID-Sols with the hostages, your shields should absorb their small arms fire.” As she was speaking she’d tear off a stun grenade, pull the pin, and toss it towards the prisoner pen where the hostage holding soldiers were standing, temporarily blinding them.

---

Luke would end up mowing down hundreds of harmless pieces of corn. The Rapid firing would make him a stand out target for the shredder, which would take aim at him with its main cannon and unleash another bolt. The blinding light coming from the Nepleslian Tank would cause the round to be slightly off, piercing Luke’s shields and melting the right arm of his power armor into useless slag.

More shots from the upper turret of the Shredder would come at Makari. The blots were aimed at the missiles he fired, knocking some of them out of the air before they hit the ship’s shields. The bolts that missed, however, came right at him, kicking up a cloud of dirt, plants, and popped corn as his shields did their best to absorb the hit. The Shredder would then follow up with a swarm of 24 mini missiles, letting the cloud of small objects seek out Makari on their own as it unleashed the last of its payload towards the tank.

Anselm winced as his flesh-and-blood arm started to prickle at the heat bleeding through the armor and then musculature, a quick glance at the diagnostics would tell the marine what he'd already guessed, the remains of the RFMD were offline and the gun's autodiagnostics had dropped off the monitors.

"Fuck the medic," the albino sneered, relaxing the confines of the armor before wrenching his right arm out of its steamy confines to pull out the manual escape chord; several explosive bolts blew out and precharged pneumatics levered the armor open enough for the lightly clad marine to worm his way out. Clad in the light elastic fabric of a pilot's undersuit and a Styrling Muur breastplate, Anselm pocketed the spare ammunition and loaded a cylinder of RED rounds before reholstering the weapon and prying the HPAR off his Aggressor's left shoulder with an agitated smack to the manual release catch. Last but not least, the Acadian marine prised out the long VCBS Knife from the Aggressor's belt, slipping it through a loop in his own.

"And fuck these motherfucker Neko-made asshats, I swear to the gods you damn cat," Anselm cursed Harm, part of him glad he hadn't activated the commo device in his breastplate yet, "I'll shoot you so full of BLACK when we're done that you'll be in traction for a fucking..." he stopped, getting his bearings without the aid of a tactical computer, "a really gods damned long time."

He tapped the comm attached to his breastplate, turning it on and autodialing the preset frequency for this mission, "Anselm, here, Aggy's toasted and the cat's off her leash again, somebody collar the bitch and try to keep those civies alive long enough for me to gut those 32s personally, and then Harm."

As an afterthought the marine clipped the grenades to his belt.

"Well fuck," Makari thought as a cloud of mini-missiles were being launched in his general direction. He immediately shoved the Hostile into reverse and turned on his PLA. He turned his comms to broadcast all, "Targeting the Shredder. I'll join the rest of you once it's down. P3C Makari Aeron out."

"Do or die," he thought as he readied his Push/Pull Plating. As soon as the missiles got within five meters of his Hostile, he was going to activate the push in order to negate the missiles and maybe, maybe if he was lucky he could send the missiles back at the Shredder. Makari whipped out his HPAR and proceeded to fire at the incoming missiles. Like hell that piece of crap Shredder was going to take him out.

As the missiles streaked towards Makari a combination of his HPAR fire and the tanks high energy lasers would start cutting through the missiles, knocking them down one by one as they rapidly closed the distance. At the last possible second the Push/Pull beam would cut through the missiles, dealing negligible damage to the outer shell but ripping and smashing the electronics inside. Missile after missile would fly by his power armor, most of the detonators failing to activate after having been smashed by the beam, until one finally struck home, exploding in front of him and showering his armor with shrapnel. Fortunately for him his shields would absorb the blast leaving the armor underneath intact.

"WHAT THE FUCK." Was broadcast throughout the communications system of the squad by a clearly agitated Chief, who was watching as status reports on his HUD indicated that one of his squad's Power Armors had gone down, and it's pilot ejecting. "ANSELM, GET TO SOME FUCKING COVER." At that, the Chief erected two square shield walls in front of Anselm's armor, alinging them so that they formed a wedge facing the Type 32s, covering most of his armor. "GET ON YOUR COMMS AND ASK FOR SOME AIR SUPPORT ON THAT FUCKING SHREDDER."

To give him some suppressing fire, the Chief raised his HPAR at the Type 32s and started firing not -at- them but -near them-, so that he wouldn't run the risk of hitting any hostages, but still attempt to suppress them. After a few bursts, the Chief immediately ran forward in a diagonal fashion, fired off a few shots and ran for Anselm's position, to hide behind the shield walls he would erect.

"EVERYONE STOP FUCKING FIRING AT THE SHREDDER. THEY'RE TRYING TO PIN US DOWN AND PICK US OFF ONE BY ONE. SUPPRESS THEM, GET IN CLOSE AND MANEUVER AGAINST THEM. SHOW SOME FLANKING, YOU ASSHOLES!" The Chief coughed, his voice almost going raw. "DON'T STOP MOVING, KEEP MOVING AND FIRING. WE DON'T HAVE THE MANPOWER TO HUNKER DOWN AND SLUG IT OUT WITH THESE ASSHOLES."

"AND SOMEONE CALL FOR AIR SUPPORT, FOR FUCKS SAKE."

"I was the cover, Sarge," Anselm smirked, watching the damnable neko set up to slaughter more prisoners, "get that damn maniac cat on a leash or a noose, else she's going to slaughter the objectives."

The marine was already hunkered next to one half of the downed shredder, using more to hide himself as a target rather than try and use the blasted-to-hell shell of a gunship to block any shots.

"I could use some direction though, these feet only slog now," the albino cracked a joke at the expense of his armor, trying to look around for anything nearby and threatening to take down with his modded, single-shot HPAR; he had to admit the hardwired smart-sight was a nice touch.

"Air support comin' back would be nice, anyone break through that jam?" the marine added nonchalantly as he took a bead on a clone with an AM Panzerfaust and tapped off three shoulder-bruising shots, judging by the large margin-of-error ring displayed on the sight he would need that if not more to land a solid hit.

Henry disarmed his mortar, and realised that things were going from bad to worse in a matter of seconds. Four men down was bad enough, he needed one extra set of hands to bring with him. The person closest to him was Sean.

"Sean," Henry said, "I'm no commander, but hold fast," He made a quick diagnostic scan of Sean's armour, and realised that the power source for his armour had been completely torn out. Henry thought that the situation was looking grim, but he did have one spare battery that'd keep Sean going for a few hours if he didn't strain it.

"As incredulous as this sounds," Henry said as he started to wedge the battery into place and reconnect the power cables, "We need to head towards the prison. Our bitch in cat's clothing is right for once."

He then looked over to Anselm, who was barely able to move, but moving. Henry boosted over to him, and lifted him in an underarm carry.

"Move, MOVE, MOVE!" He said as he started to run with him towards the prison, with his spare hand armed with Scalar Pulse grenades via the forearm launcher in case things got rough in transit.

Sean, who had been just about to exit his own armor to avoid becoming the new favorite target (or at least moreso), froze his hand over his release, listening to Henry. "If you say so. I'm right behind you, assuming you can get me moving again." And with that said, as soon as Henry finished hooking up the battery and took off, Sean followed suit, keeping pace as best he could without putting too much strain on the battery. After all, in theory if he could keep the battery intact for a bit, the second of the reactors should come back down into the realm of usability, and that would bring him back to near normal capacity. For the time being, all he did was run after Henry, opting to just not fire on anything until they'd reached somewhere his armor wasn't sticking out in the open like this.

Thankful that he was still alive and armor undamaged, Makari proceeded to head towards the rest of his squad as fast as his Hostile would let him. He doubted he could take on the Shredder with just his Assault Rifle and as such a "tactical retreat" seemed like the best thing to do in this situation, especially after hearing the Chief's rant.

Matteo sighed as the mess unfolded, orders finally being barked out to marshal the forces. 'Light resistance huh? Poor intel. Got to keep that in mind.' Though the Hostile was built like any other Nepleslian piece of hardware, big and tough, that didn't mean it wasn't fast enough to get the job done. The Marine pulled back a little, and activated the jets on his suit, jumping up the side of the prison wall before landing on his feet on the guards' walkways. As he broke out into a flat sprint, he made out the lead Hostile killing a Type 32 with it's PPG. That could work.

As the Mishhu hunkered down to present more of the Hostages to Harm and the others, their attention was turned to their assailants, and not Matteo. He too the opportunity, having his Hostile run around to the side of them. Matt charged up the PPG before jumping down and landed right at it's side, doing his best to aim the plates into the side of the Mishhu's 'nose' before letting off the pulse.

After narrowly avoiding being incinerated by the Shredder bombing run, Phaedra picked pushed herself up out of the ditch she took shelter in and activated the NIGHT's cloaking field. Hefting her MPR, Phaedra took aim at one of the Type 32s that Harm had designated, only for that one to be destroyed in a salvo of missiles. She quickly switched to another, only for that Type 32 to be destroyed as well. Faced with a lack of visible targets, Phaedra advanced slowly towards the rest of her comrades up ahead.

"Anselm, here, Aggy's toasted and the cat's off her leash again, somebody collar the bitch and try to keep those civies alive long enough for me to gut those 32s personally, and then Harm."

"What the hell?" thought Phaedra. She noted Anselm's location and headed in his direction. She managed to spot another Type 32, this one staying low to the ground and hugging cover. Phaedra zoomed her reticle in on her target, and then visibly recoiled when she saw the human hostages the Mishhu carried. She exhaled a breath as she carefully targeted one of the thing's eyeports and then pulled the trigger, the MPR punching back against her shoulder armor. She ejected the spent casing and waited, hesitant to fire at the same spot again and risk hitting a hostage.

“We’re kinda busy here,” Replied GreenBean, resident drone controller for the air unit that had been assigned to support the ground team. “Can only take priority requests while we deal with Mishhu-air. What do you guys need?” He asked as the rounds that Anselm fired off started landing near the clone soldier, one of the blasts lifting him up into the air and separating the soldier’s arms and legs, leaving a pile of body parts to come falling back down to the ground.

A few hundred miles away the Nepleslian air support was darting in and out of the water, trading blows with Shredder gunships doing the same. Each was looking to hit the other as they popped up to take a shot and the Nepleslians were coming out ahead slowly now that the Shredders had depleted their supply of missiles.

---

The Type 32s would both take aim at Harm, their original target, and fire off two more bolts of energy that slammed against her shields, vastly depleting them. As she took aim with her PPG again the Type 32s would turn towards the Marine flying towards them, their guns charging for another shot but failing to go off before he hit home, his PPG turning one of the Type 32’s brains into mush. The dead creature looked unharmed for a moment then simply fell to the ground, its hostages safe and still glued to the outside.

The remaining Type 32 would end up getting a round through its eye port, the round bouncing around inside of its body until the dead hulk fell to the ground, the hostages injured by friendly fire still mostly intact. All that was left between the Nepleslians and the prisoner pen were a four clone soldiers, each holding a human shield. They had their backs up against the prisoner pen, hoping the Nepleslians wouldn’t fire even if they had a clean shot because any overkill would end up hitting prisoners. “BACK OFF NEPPIES! YOU CAN’T WIN THIS! OUR BACKUP IS ALMOST HERE!”

---

In the cornfrield the Shredder would turn around, bringing its main gun to bear on the take and letting loose, the beam cutting through the shields and tearing a deep gash along the front armored plate of the vehicle which responded by popping its smoke launchers, covering the area in a protective field of black. It would then respond with its own weapons, using the power armor sensors to guide its attacks as the shredder’s underside turret blasted randomly into the smoke.

The upper turret, on the other hand, kept tracking Makari, unleashing a swarm of bolts towards the soldier as he bounded away.
