Yaichiro had finished loading the shuttle with Shika's help, and brought it around back to the shuttle-bay before going to the Power Armor Bay. He stepped out of his Power Armor and quickly changed into a red Environmental Protection Jumpsuit with a Type 30 Helmet.

He quickly contacted Charisma, to access standing general orders for any idea of where to start.

"...Everyone else, you are needed on decks one and two to fight fires in the wardroom and crew lounge and then damage control throughout the ship. We got power failures, air leaks, small fires, electrical hazards, everything you can think of...."

A further check with Charisma updated him on the situation in the Wardroom, and the failure of the environmental system. He knew he didn't have much time to assist, as he grabbed a set of tools and entered the Maintenance Conduits. This particular conduit, thankfully, was the Deck 4 Loop that led directly to Engineering, and also had access to the passageway outside the affected area if he needed to.

"Taisa, Charisma has informed me of the situation in the Wardroom and the Lounge. I'm en-route to Engineering via the Maintenance Conduits to initiate troubleshooting and repairs on the Environmental Systems, unless you wish for me to divert to the site and assist the firefighting manually." He said, giving her a brief report on his status.

Sune sighed when he saw more wounded enter the medical bay. It never ends it seems. With a casual smile he turned to the rescuees, "Good news, all of you appear to be clear of any parasites. Bad news is last report our Wardroom is in flames. Make yourselves comfortable here and I will arrange for some ration packs and water to be delivered. I am sure that once things settle down the Taisa will want to debrief you." hmmm, poor choice of words, since they are naked. he thought.

As he stepped out he secured the door to the room. The sensor said they were not infected, but we have a neko in the holding cell who was working for the NMX. I do not want to take a chance that any of them might be sympathizers. he thought. Sune quickly went to the nearest damage control lockers and grabbed the AMES from them. He unlocked the door and placed the AMES down. "These will have to do for now for clothing." He said, securing the door again and entering medical.

Sune paused ever so briefly at the site of the Troll. He had heard of such things, but this was his first time actually seeing one. "Hello, Jalen-Ittô Heisho, Science officer of the Eucharis and back up medic. Please have a seat and we will be right with you." He crossed over to the Hemosynth tubes checking on the status. He cycled Junko's tube and when the tube opened he held out a medical smock to her. "You may return to duty Takeda-Heisho" he said as he cycled Konoka's tube and kept from looking at Junko to afford her the illusion of privacy. When the tube with Konoka emptied and opened, Sune lifted her unconscious form over to the mental transfer unit. Sune draped a sheet over her body, pulled up her latest backup and started the download.

The AMTC units have no data on Phods and Trolls, so this will be a chance to add that data to the Eucharis' medical library. Sune thought, as he walked over and picked up an PMS-1. "While our medic is being revived, I am going to start performing a medical scan for her use." He then proceeded to inject each with a set of scanner nanobots and linked the PMS-1 to the ship's system.

Sune then walked over to Konoka and revived her. "Hello Konoka-Hei, time for you to get back to work." he said with a smile. "You have three rather interesting patients who just arrived I have initiated a PMS-1 scan of them, and Himeya-Hei and Kumiko-Hei should be ready for duty shortly. I am going to report to the bridge since you are now available to tend to the patients."

“Nitô Hei Akechi Shika,” The Taisa greeted the newcomer. “I am Taisa Hanako. I am pleased to meet you.” Hanako was a short woman with a slightly pear-shaped teenage-looking body, huge golden eyes, and lots of multi-colored mostly-aqua colored hair. For whatever reason, she was dressed in a white fitness shirt and a bikini bottom. “Please excuse my appearance. I have not been able to clean up since getting out of my power armor. Normally I would conduct an interview now but we are short on personnel and the situation is an emergency. Your orders are to assist with the wardroom/galley fire. I suggest using the hose in the crew lounge. Are you familiar with the layout of the Plumeria gunship?”

- - -

Tayeku’s hose jerked around heavily as the water and foam rushed through it, spraying all over the place. As the liquid and foam began to coat things, it seemed to be working, especially on spots where the fire was not as intense. The origin of the flames seemed to be the galley, and another centerpoint was the remains of the gas-powered hibachi stove.

- - -

When Yaichiro called up to the bridge, Hanako replied. “When you get to engineering, try to shut down most of the ship’s non-essential systems including engines and main power. We will need them offline while we conduct repairs on them. Then, see if any more help with the fire is needed. If not, start patching the holes in the cargo bay area so we can restore atmospheric pressure in there.”

“Nito Heisho Hammer Stonefist,” the troll introduced himself to Sune. “Shoi Gally,” the busty redhead waved. “Julix,” the Phodian followed, “Chef extraordinaire!” The Phod was fine. Gally and Hammer were full of metal fragments, mostly near the surface but a few in deep spots.

With the heat of the blaze in front of him; Takeyu continued to fight it, aiming the hose at the base of the fire and creeping forward every few seconds.

The blaze was everywhere that he could see, but as he crept deeper into the wardroom he saw where it originated from, both the gallery and the stove. "Figures," he muttered under his breath and aimed for one of the two sources of the fire.

A slightly confused Konoka started, eyes opening, and took in an uneasy intake of breath: ".....?"

Then, she noticed her old friend and colleague, Sune, standing careful watch over her slightly shivering form. With a slight smile, she said, "....Sune-Hei? What-Oh." She sighed. A wash of confused yet belligerent regret fell on her like cold water. "I.....died, didn't I?"

She sighed, shrugging. "How...."

Her eyes darted around the medbay, her usual domain. It seemed.....chaotic, to say the least. "Ok, ok, what the fish has been happening whilst I was "out"? Her eyes blinked towards Junko and the others, slightly bewildered. With a slight pout of sulkiness, she said softly, "The others.....What-?"

Her voice rising into tones of concern, she warbled compassionately, "Is everyone else OK? What's their current condition? I....."

Sitting straight up, she said, "Geh, somebody get me something to....Forget it. Just.....how can I help?"

This was all wrong: Medbay was a chaotic wreck, Konoka, the ship's doctor, was fresh out of Soul Transfer.....that couldn't be good. The doctor didn't....this didn't happen. She had to help people! Shaking her head at her own selfishness, she blinked worriedly. Whatever had been happening to the others, it couldn't be very good. And....was that a TROLL?

Straighten yourself out, Miyazawa! she told herself, admonishing alarmingly sharply. It doesn't matter, just fix this mess!

Reminding herself she had her duties, she fumbled to rise, alerting the Taisa of her resurrection: Taisa, this is Konoka Miyazawa, Itto Hei, returning to duty. How may I assist....whatever the current situation is?

"Somebody get me some clothes!" she whined, fumbling. "Whatever, what's going on? This place is a wreck! Ah..."

She noticed the strangers near, and the patients across the room.

"Ahem."

"Lookie there....new friends! May I be of assistance? I am Konoka Miyazawa, Itto Hei, medical specialist. Oh..."

She flushed.

She realized there may be bigger problems: like her things, whatever....the danger had to be admitted, for the others sake....KILLED her, and.....where were her....?

She whirled to face Sune: "Is everyone OK? Did we do OK? Who are....No matter. Who can I assist right now? And.....fiii-iish, where's my things? Somebody get me my medical kit! I'd better....help...someone..." she breathed. "Oh....PLEASE tell me you got everything of importance back from the mission. I'd feel terrible if....."

She sunk down.

"I'm sorry." she whispered.
"I'm sorry." she repeated.

Whatever, she thought, I'm back! I'm alive now! I'll help out!

"OK, so I'm not dead anymore. But if I'm not helping, I might as well be! So...forget that! What the fish is up?"

Sune let Konoka go through her own form of reboot. Once she settled down he spoke. "Konoka, here put these on for now. The mission was a success, but there were a lot of casualties and injuries." He handed her a set of surgical scrubs.

"Now, these three people awaiting your attention are from the Fredrick a ship in whatever system we are in that was ambushed by the NMX. I believe they are the only survivors. I would recommend that you start the next batch of resurrections, for essential crew personnel, and check on the two crew members in the AMTC units."

He started towards the door and stopped to face Konoka, "Miyazawa, if you want later on I can let you know what happened on the mission. For now, do what you do best. Help these people."

After leaving the Medical bay Sune went to his quarters, along the way he grabbed an AMES suit. In his cabin he changed out of his blood covered clothes put on some clean ones and put on AMES.

He picked up the intecom, dialed the bridge. "Bridge Jalen-Heisho, Medical has been turned over to Konoka-Hei. I have an idea to help extinguish the fire in the wardroom. We could close all access to the wardroom, and then blow the window. That would vent the wardroom to hard vacuum which should put out the fire."

Junko snatched the medical smock out of Jalen's hand and kept her eyes trained down at the deck as she hurriedly pulled it over her body. Her modesty returned – somewhat - she looked down for a moment longer, idly wiggling her new toes. The sensation of losing something as fundamental as a limb, and then having it restored so quickly was bizarre beyond her ability to put into words. It would take more than a little getting used to, but for the moment duty, as Jalen had put it, came first. “Thank you, Jalen-Heisho,” she said in a small voice before rapidly exiting the sickbay. She considered, briefly, heading to her cabin to get a change of clothes, but with AMES available in the damage control locker in Engineering she decided get back on the job as fast as possible was the best course of action.

Arriving in the Mainspace a little out of breath from the speed of her passage, she raced over the the locker and opened it, grabbing an AMES. She glanced around for a second, trying to see if there was anybody in sight of her before peeling off the medical smock. The raw pink scars surrounding her thighs caused her to hesitate; the lines were already fading, as the new flesh melded back into the stumps of her old legs. Tossing her head to expel the distraction, she pulled the suit on and sealed it up. She set the helmet down on the deck next to her and pulled up a systems diagnostic on the main display, even while hitting the intercom key. “Bridge, Engineering. This is Takeda. I'm back on duty in the Mainspace.”

"Understood, Taisa."

Yaichiro rushed to a console in front of the main Aether Generator, and after verifying that the Lorath-made backup generators were functioning properly, he started shutting down connections to assorted non-essential areas of the ship, including the engines. The electrical appliances in the Galley were no longer fed power, though it did little to the gas-powered Hibachi.

Next, Yaichiro deactivated the Main Aether Generator, as well as the Antimatter Generator in each nacelle pylon. The critical systems were switched over seamlessly to the Lorath-made systems. He heard Junko speak, and recalled from the roster that she was a technician. Yaichiro sent a reply to her as well as Hanako.

"Taisa, Takeda-Heisho; confirming nonessential systems shut down, Main Aether Generator and Nacelle Pylon Antimatter Reactors deactivated, and the Lorath Fusion Generators functional and online providing emergency power." Yaichiro sent as he prepared various tools for the job of patching the hull in the cargo bay while awaiting the result of his efforts in the wardroom.

Hanako had the urge to go grab a shower but dismissed the thought for now. The ship's limited water reserves we best used on the fire.

She replied to everyone on the intercom. "Takeda, please assist with the fire in the wardroom. Sune, see if the hoses work before you create any additional hull breaches. Konoka, report medical bay status. How many patients are still under treatment? Toshiro, after sealing the cargo bay, see if you can find any blankets or clothing in there to give to the shipyard survivors."

Takeyu was having a difficult time aiming the hose by himself. He ended up spraying the ceiling and knocking chairs across the room instead of hitting the hibachi.

"Aye bridge." Sune sent over the intercom, he then made his way up to the next level. The smoke from the fire had filled the corridor so that what ceiling lights were working were dim. There has to be a better way of fighting fire on a starship. I will have to investigate an alternative after this mission.

Sune found the hose before he actually spotted Takeyu. After picking himself up off the floor, and suppressing the pain from his shoulder by gritting his teeth. Once the crisis is over I really need to get that looked at. he thought.

When he was finally standing behind Takeyu, he spoke. "Nayacesen-Hei, I am here to assist you. I will brace the hose to keep it steady and allow you to better control your spray." Sune looped a leg around the hose, and then held onto it with his arms. "Try now, aim at the base."

"Much appriciated, Heisho" said Takeyu as he gripped the hose a bit harder and tried his aim out again, pointing the hose at the base of the fire. The smoke was still a bit thick, at least that's what it looked like to him - though perhaps that might be because of the contents of the smoke were cluttering his helmet.

"Hard to see though," he commented though more to himself.

This time the high-pressure foam hit its target, snuffing out the hibachi table flames and replacing them with a mountain of foam. They were making progress!

"Not much longer I hope," said Takeyu as he changed his aim, pointing it toward a more intense blaze in hopes of snuffing out the smaller one in the process.

He scowled under his breath, and instead of thinking to himself, he thought aloud. "There has to be an easier way to fight these fires," he kept his hands on the hose and just held his position.

Shika assured the Taisa that he was familiar with the ship layout, but by the time he had gotten to the wardroom, the situation was under control.

Takeyu was there with the hose. "Need a hand with anything?" Shika asked him.

Nika seriously wanted to relax, but the situation around her was not exactly the atmosphere to actually do that. Then again, she was not physically able to help out on the ship, and the drugs within her was mentally draining as she fought to stay conscious.

"Drugs are there to keep the pain away... not to put me to sleep!" The neko mentally challenged herself as she willed her eyes opened, finding herself in a healing tank. It was then the stronger painkillers wore off and Nika could now feel the stitching sensations coming from her abdomen and her right arm.

"Ok... this seriously looks wierd..." She eyed her stump which was slowly being recreated from where it had been blown off. The neko was still unable to move, but at least her wandering eyes can see what's going on within the medical bay...

"I was thinking the same thing myself just a few minutes ago," Sune said in response to Takeyu's comment.

At the site of Shika walking up in a normal uniform. Who is this and what is he doing not in an AMES. he thought.

With a bit of a yell so that he could be heard clearly from inside his AMES Sune said to Shika, "Nitô Hei, get yourself into an AMES from one of the damage control stations unless you want to get a trip to medical for smoke inhalation. Once you are sealed up grab a couple of the extinguishers from the damage control station and you can work on dealing with the smaller fires as we move towards the galley with the hose."

He then tapped Takeyu on the shoulder, over his radio sent. "Looking promising. Ready to move in with you, so we can reposition and work towards the galley."

Takeyu cracked a small smile, even though it wasn't really noticable through his helmet. "Moving them," he said and began to creep forward a bit toward to a new location to better combat the fire that was located in the galley.

"Right!" said Konoka cheerfully, a fresh wash of determination coming over her. Responding to the Taisa, she commented quickly: Taisa. This is Miyazawa-Itto Hei reporting in status! I've taken active control of medical. Frederick survivors still require treatment, and......OK, 2 crew still in AMTC units. Attempting to begin triage. Are you aware of any crew needing ST tech? Or have you other orders for me?
Taking a quick look around, Konoka shifted her attention of her duties back to her patients, and, whirling to face the hemosynth tubes, startled, spoke out, "Aaah...NIKA!"

"Wha-I-I'll just get...some medicine! Relax, you're fine! OH fish...."
Diving into a medical kit, she got out something to ease Nika's condition, and, refocusing, after calming the slowly reforming neko, begun working with the autonomous units to remove the survivor's sunk-in metal, getting out some supplies to re-stabilize her condition.

"NOW what.....?" she started. "Just a moment!" she said to no-one in particular.

"Ah." Checking some fresh records from Sune's new data, she started on some necessary resurrections and such, and their freshly machinated data, and called up data on the new friends from the Frederick, and turned her attention to the AMTC-contained crew members.

"AH, what to do, what to do...." she gabbed, making a mad dive for her medical kit. She'd launched into this with usual zeal, once more. "Hmm....now, how are we?"

Pulling out some medicines, she tried to figure how she would help. After all, thrust back into the moment of her true talent, the medical lab's labors, after a quick resurrection, for Konoka, this was more than a center for zeal.

Helping was life.

Only, helping everyone at once could be trouble.

Yaichiro was getting that old feeling back little by little. Something in him had missed moving around the maintenance conduits like a mole, an experience unique to technicians and engineers most of the time. It was a side of the ship few others ever got to see. Of course, being in an AMES and wearing the new uniform reduced the strain on his knees and elbows from crawling -- interesting how technology kept marching forward.

He had entered the Deck 4 loop again from Engineering, this time coming out in the cargo bay...which was actually better off than he'd feared, from seeing the shuttlebay directly above. There were a number of small holes, but nothing that the damage control stations and their equipment couldn't patch up.

"Taisa, this is Yaichiro. Proceeding with Cargo Bay repairs."

Yaichiro set to work, getting a handheld plasma cutter out of the forward damage control station closest to him, and cutting the more jagged pieces of shrapnel off of the sides of the holes. The cleaner cuts were necessary for him to apply hull patches effectively.

To keep the pieces of shrapnel from floating freely and cutting his AMES or causing further damage, he used the CASTER tape dispenser and the Molecure Tape in it to keep the shrapnel from drifting away when he was done cutting. Eventually he'd have a line of shrapnel trapped on the tape rather than floating free in the bay.

With their combined efforts Shika, Sune, and Takeyu managed to snuff out the fires with the foamy hose, pushing into the wrecked galley where they found the source of the fire, a minor hull breach where an energy weapon had pierced through the ship. A small pinpoint hole left by the offending beam continued to hiss overhead. They could probably seal it with some tape. Due to the force of the initial explosions, the freezer door was knocked off its hinges and their food supplies on this deck were a total loss. Whatever was for lunch would be coming from the cargo bay.

When Junko arrived, the floor and walls were now coated in a few inches of foamy muck over the ashes and burnt wood. In the wardroom, the ceiling paintings of Hanako and her family that had not been burned off entirely were barely visible beneath a thick layer of soot. A thick smoke lingered in the air throughout the dark, wet compartments. She could see the others double checking to make sure the fire was out.

Bridge

"Just concentrate on fixing up people for the time being," Hanako replied to Konoka.

"Thank you," Hanako replied to Yaichiro. "Once you are done, please restore the atmosphere in there. After that, we can get some rations out and get everyone together for lunch."

Medical Lab

"You should be fit for duty now," Blueberry told Kumiko. "Just be sure not to strain yourself for the next few hours."

She turned to Nika. "I think that just leaves the Shoi and the big Heisho. Hey, do not give any more meds to the others. They've all ready got doses from Sune and me."
