"Arigato, Blueberry-Juni. That would be most helpful." said Konoka with a sweet, serene smile.

Looking back at the healing tanks, Konoka noticed with pride and a sense of relieved happiness for her "friend" that Nika was looking.....much better. "Ah..Nika. Good to see you back to your best!!" smiled Konoka. Witha reassuring smile, she nodded, "Hey, now that you're...better...why not go get some food and-?'

Though Konoka had a renewed sense of calm in regards to her work and Fate now that all her patients seemed to be doing a bit better, it seemed her spazziness in general had spread to the recently-healed neko, Nika.

"Hey, watch yourself....don't you need a....."

"Never mind." sighed Konoka, amused by her crew's way of bouncing back once again. If these go-getters kept up getting hurt, her worrywart nature would just as well again crank up to eleven-something Konoka didn't really need after the past few missions.

"Ah, what's this?!" blinked Konoka, eyes darting towards the doors to her medical domain. "Ooh!" she said witha renewed relish of welcome, springing forward in a new wave of happiness, "A new friend? What's your name, Stranger-, uh, Hei, I guess? Heh. I'm Konoka Miyazawa, or, uh, Miyazawa Konoka...at least, the neko or Yam way. Itto Hei, medic, at your service! I'm the medical specailist here....uh, W-welcome to the Eucharis!" she rambled jovially at the strange male newcomer. "Uh, oh, sorry if you didn't catch all that. Anyway-welcome! Heh. Oh, uh..."

After the disaster that seemed to have happened.....and, well, though Konoka tried not to think of it, as a moody optimist brat like she was, ...killed her, lots of friends, new and old, could be hurt, or in need of Konoka's help.

Well, Konoka loved to help! No prob, Miyazawa! she told herself. Now, ease up-poor new one's probably had enough excitement for one day!

Sighing, witha return of her serene "work face" that threatened to vanish again at any time back to her usual, excitably hyper self, undeniable as it was, she said, "ANYway.....Can I assist you in some way? If not, I bet Taisa Hanako's looking for you, for interview, or lunch, or somethin'....C'mon, then, new pal. I think, if there's nothing else I can do for you, Blueberry-Juni's got it. Unless...do you need something? I've been kind out of the loop, so-o-o..."

At Gally's question Konoka shrugged. Looking towards the inquiry, her expression changed to bewildered. Apparently, she'd been even more spazzed out than she'd realized..Who was in her medbay now?

"Uh, new friend, I'll ask.." Konoka said, telepathically asking the Taisa: Taisa, who ...or what..is sitting in my medbay? I'm sorry I've been out, but for the safety of my patients and your crew, I believe I have a right to know!

Sune seeing the Taisa preparing her food and eating decided he would do the same. He opened the main pouch and spinkled some shoyu sauce into the pouch after stirring it, he removed a piece of chicken and began eating it. Not bad, rations have definitely improved. Would be better if it was heated, but right now its fine.

Since it appeared that the Taisa was not planning on a debrief just yet, he picked up his ICP and connected it to the ship's network and checked on the status of his query on the Bouken. The status was unchanged since the Eucharis had left Yamatai. Except for a flashing note Outside of Service Area - Resubmit when in network range.

Sune growled mentally, Damn it. After the recent events on the shipyard facility, and seeing the family across the room from him. Sune's need to reassure himself as to the safety of his own family was strong. Getting angry is not going to get the status any faster. Once we hookup with the starbase I will have a better chance. he thought, switching the pad off he placed it down.

Sune resumed eating but found he was not really hungry, and the food did not seem as tasty. But he continued eating if only to keep himself busy.

Kumiko shook her head. "I'm fine, just a bit sore. Restoration can only fix so much, time has to handle the rest." She kept going, if still moving slowly. "Thanks for the offer though. I wouldn't mind talking to someone on the way, if that's okay." She smiled slightly at him.

Takeyu smiled and kept his pace up with Kumiko. "How long do you suppose you have before your wounds are completely healed?" he asked her.

While waiting for a response, he thought a bit about the base they had only been at not that long ago, and wondered if there could've been another way of saving the other prisoners there.

"Well, they said just to take it decently easy for the next couple of days. I'm cleared for work though." Kumiko paused. "What's on your mind? Seems like you're a bit preoccupied."

Takeyu looked over at Kumiko, and though he tried to force a smile, he found it hard all things considered. "The mission has me troubled, very troubled," he said.

"We found people we could save, but we barely saved any, though it's a victory - to me it feels like I've failed. It's not just that, those screams of death, I didn't fully see what the Heisho saw - and to be honest I don't know if I want to," he looked away and down the hall.

Yaichiro returned the smile Hanako gave him, finishing passing out the meals to those present before sitting down and starting to eat his own rations. As he did so, he looked at the faces around him, recognizing only a few here and there from his time on the Sakura and even this ship. Two years had made changes, though Hanako looked similar. Was that a YSS Sakura patch she was wearing?

Yaichiro knew this wasn't the time to speak with her, nor was he quite sure what to say. For now, he merely sent his report on the Power Armor combat and the destruction of the YSS Fredrick to Hanako and Gally. They could access it whenever the opportunity arose to deal with it.

Kumiko's smile faded. "I understand..." She thought about what to say next for a moment before continuing. "It was harder then I would have believed to leave the two of you and continue towards the objectives. Especially with all of the prisoners there. And then when we failed to even make it far enough in to get to any of our objectives..." Kumiko sighed. "I honestly don't know if I could do it again. I... I just don't know."

Takeyu thought in silence, as he considered what to say. "My father once told me 'Time Heals All Wounds', perhaps that's just what we need. Though to be honest, I do hope the damage your team caused was enough for our fleet, I guess only time will tell," he said and went silent again.

Still, how'd those things know we were there? I know there were bugs, but I doubt they could've raised the alarm that quick.... is there something I'm just not seeing... he rubbed his chin in thought. "Though I know it'll be days perhaps before I can get those screams out of my head," he shook his head.

Kumiko frowned. "I don't know if the saying is true, but I do know none of us will forget it anytime soon." She shuddered, and paused. "One thing is still bugging me though. Even after me and Nika broke off, I didn't think any of the Rippers you were fighting saw us. Yet just a short time later, we ran into another squad, and they were expecting us. That's why we didn't get the charges set."

He rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Hmm... as far as I know they only knew about the Heisho and I.... that being the case, how would they know where you and Nika were?" he asked but then quickly shook his head. "Training never really prepares you for the real thing," he said and gave a weary smile toward Kumiko. "I think we are almost to the recreational area, but with how banged up the poor ship is, I could be wrong," he smiled sheepishly.

Kumiko glanced around. "Yep we're almost there. After a couple times going through it, you get used to the ship being banged up."

"I certainly hope so, err... rather, I'd prefer this girl stay in one peice, I hate seeing a ship beat up..." he said and placed his hand on the back of his neck. Looking down at his helmet, he saw that it was largely black, due to the black smoke from the fire he had been fighting, he rubbed it off to reveal the shield beneath it.

"Would certainly be nice if we could deliever a cripling blow to the Mishu..." he muttered under his breath.

Yaichiro ate politely, yet swiftly, as he listened to the crew's chatter. He'd been worried that he was paranoid about the NMX' intelligence and their access to SAoY technologies, but the topic of discussion seemed to back up his preconceptions. If there truly was a tactical disadvantage as well as a technological one, it meant he'd have to put that much more effort into his official research -- as well as keep his unofficial research under his hat for the moment, at least until the intelligence leak was plugged.

As he listened further, he was reminded of how hard it was to keep the Sakura together at times, and surmised that not much had changed in that regard save for the severity of the beating the current ship took. They might have to take yet greater risks in the war ahead, especially since the closest NMX holdings were mere minutes from Yamatai itself. At least if Yamatai fell, the 1st XF had done its job and secured an alternate site of Yamataian civilization in the KMS, which seemed relatively secure for the time being.

He pondered this as he awaited debriefing and absorbed the ambient chatter, limiting his thoughts to the confines of his mind.

Junko leaned idly against the bulkhead, still in her AMES from the DC locker. She had briefly considered, again, changing into a proper uniform in her cabin – assuming fire or smoke damage hadn't destroyed everything. Again, however, she decided that the extent of the repairs she would surely be returning to soon counter-indicated changing out of the AMES; plus she was hungry. That feeling didn't last too long though. The ramen kit in her ration pack wasn't exactly unappetizing, but the fatigue she could feel settling around her put a damper on all of her senses.

Lest she actually fall asleep on her feet – a distinct possibility – Junko decided to forego her normal preference of remaining silent and off on her own and instead looked around for someone to converse with. The new officer, similarly clad in an AMES, offered both a potential distraction and a necessary formality that would have to be dealt with eventually anyways. Digging at the deck with the toe of her boat for a moment, she pushed off from the bulkhead and slowly made her way over to him. “Sir, we haven't been introduced. I'm Takeda Junko. Might you be our new Engineering Officer?”

Sune finished up eating his ration pack, pocketing the fortune cookies. He took not of the additions, and the losses. It seemed that the Eucharis crew was always in a state of flux. He found himself constantly having his attention brought back to the two children. What a thing to go through, they will need lots of therapy and loving support from their parents. The images of the two hanging upside down disturbed Sune, but it was not their faces that he saw when he closed his eyes. Instead he saw his name sakes Jay and Len hanging from the line.

Since it did not appear that the Taisa was going to start the debriefing He quietly slipped out and made his way quickly to his cabin. Took his Tempri-Sama blanket out of his locker, and his Tet Game Buddy along with the packet of games he had intended to send to the Bouken at the New Year Festivities. Its not much, but a little extra kindness after what they have been though can not hurt.

Sune returned to the Recreation room, made sure that Hanako had not started her briefing so he quietly entered, and crossed over to where the family was. Along the way he recalled what her husband had said her name was. He walked over and approached the family. He held out the folded blanket with the Tet Game Buddy and accessories on top of it to the mother. "Allison-San, I would like to give these to you for the children, just a few nice things." he said.

The mother was touched by Sune's kindness. "Thank you," she warmly smiled, standing there a few seconds looking at his eyes before she went game the blanket and game buddy to her children. The kids seemed to like the blanket and cuddled up together beneath it as they began figuring out how to work the game system. It was a welcome distraction for the pair.

"Going my your names I would guess you are Nepleslians," Hanako said to John.

"Right. We were living on Kennewes before the green invasion. We managed to escape to Yamatai but we lost everything and had to start over. Since then I've been working on mining projects. We had a small operation set up nearby but the NMX picked us up. Hey, we didn't know they had nekos on their side," John explained, sounding a little defensive. "Also, I saw one go into the shuttle cockpit. She was the one from the cage room."

"She is on board?" Allison growled, concerned.

"She is locked in a containment cell," Hanako nodded. "We have questions for her." She paused a moment to telepathically answer Konoka. "That is a prisoner of war. Come over and eat with us."

Hanako took a seat in a very Japanese fashion and began silently eating her cold ramen and miso combination.

Sune gave a hint of a smile when Allison gave his gifts to the children. Without another word he crossed back over to his earlier seat. For a minute or so he was content to watch the young ones. He moved to the floor crossed his legs and assumed a meditation stance.

The one drawback to having a digital brain, memories did not fade. Sune's four years of life experience really had not prepared him to deal with the inhumanity he had seen first hand on the shipyard. Add to it the carnage his crew mates had suffered just after, his emotions and mind were in a tumultuous state.

He could not change what he saw, or how it affected him at the moment, but he could change how it affected him now. He realized part of his state was fear for his friends/family. But fear was a response to something that had not happened. He would not give into in this case.

He forced his mind into a meditative mantra that was designed to calm and focus the mind. It took a considerable bit of effort, but he finally got into the regimen. Sune could still hear those around him, so he knew he would hear Hanako when she was ready to start the briefing.

Nika stopped and sighed, staring at the smoke and ash filled crew lounge.

"Charisma, how much time is needed to ventilate this area?"

"Ventilation system operating at 40%... It will take an approximately 30 minutes to an hour to clear..." Charisma replied back, much to the neko's disappointment, "Our Taisa had arranged clothings and rations at the recreation room, perhaps over there you can find something appropriate to wear..."

...

Nika gulped and entered the recreation room, with the little modesty she had, made her way to the port side of the room. There she found a suitable set of rank-less SoYA uniform, which she hurriedly put them on. Relieved, she proceed to pick up a ration pack, popping the mint candies first into her mouth, and proceeded to meet up with the rest of the crew, especially Hanako, who was about to start with the briefing.

Takeyu pointed when he saw the entrance to the rec room, and entered. He looked around and his eyes feel upon those the Heisho and him had managed to rescue, the kids looked to be calm, though he had to wonder.

He casually over to a crate and pulled out a a Type 30 Ration, inside he found a steak with peppers and a packet full of gravy, if only he could find some hot-water to warm the gravy up. The side item was a small crush proof box containing three fortune cookies, and the accessory packet had two bags of English Tea and Koikuchi shoyu sauce.

"Well, beggers can't be choosers," he muttered softly to herself and took a seat. He rubbed his side, where the armor had taken the impact from the Rippers weapons, he had neglected to go to medical since he didn't feel it was needed - but now that his adranaline was almost entirely drained, he was beginning to feel some pain in that area.

Taking in the room; he saw the Taisa, then his eyes fell upon the Heisho, and a few others. Was it worth it? he sighed and looked down at his hand, it was twitching somewhat, as the memories of the shipyard started to come back, he clintched it tightly and tried to focus on his food instead.

When he looked over at the two kids; his mind raced with the memories of his own two siblings, and he had to wonder if he would ever find out the truth on wheather one of them had survived, or died. After a moment though he had to look away and concentrate on his food.
