NH-29 Nekovalkyrja (Brainstorming)

Well, it's looking like these nekos *will* be introduced soon.
 
I'm not sure if its too late to say something(I never liked dead horses anyways). I'm also just a newbie who hasn't quite figured out what all is going on... but reading the thread I had a few thoughts after reading the thread.


Looking back I saw the talk about cloning and the nekos giving birth assexually. Given the talk of nanomachines this does make sense, but I also saw something about it being illegal for two nekos to be created the same?

Going off that string of logic, and the talk of a specific upgrade/injected program to allow reproduction, perhaps if the same upgrade allowed for the nanomachines to go through during the development process in the womb and change a few things around, a shade of haircolor there, maybe a few other small deviations here and there.

In the case of such an upgrade it could be turned off while the neko was serving in the military, and turned back on once they were out, so they could still do the self reproduction, but it would keep enlisted folk from needing to be taken off of duty for that.

And on the far extreme, given their computer-ish memory and their ability to access information from sources other than their memory... perhaps another advantage of the 29 could be that through updating from some source, give birth to later models than themselves.(That is of course, if there are versions beyond the 29.)

Just my two cents, my apologies if I don't make much sense. Overall I like the initial suggestions by Wes.
 
Probably most of the details surrounding the type 29 have been settled by now, since the year turns YE 29 by next sunday.

Well, looks like it is legal system for the win! Then again the legal system has never really been that great in the first place so it is safe to assume that it either won't apply or there will be a slight change in the DNA to facilitate slightly different clones.
 
If a neko wants to fiddle with her daughter's changable settings and/or physical features, she may though her internal "OS."
 
I believe it's fine (legally speaking, of course) if the daughter is visually distinguishable from the mother. So, they may have different hair colors, maybe different tattoos patterns, etc.

Let us not forget fiddling with a personality can create something really good or something that makes the evil of the past look like a child's bad dream.
 
In theory, it would probably also be possible for a NH-29 to bear someone else's child.

How? Not so complicated if you have the means.

You drag Kotori and Rufus - err, I mean - the NH-29 and the guy - in a medlab and then have the doctor take a look at the guy's DNA. Since nekos are created from a 52 chromosome set, that would allows them to alter the baby's genetic material to take into account 'someone' else, possibly, if they have the accurate data to make the modifications.
 
[OCC note: I'm rather new here, so if I make a glaring misinterpretation of something, please realize it's most likely due to my lack of knowledge of the setting.]

On Hormones;

From my understanding, the Nekovalkyrja are genetically encoded with only the hormonal proteins needed for the body to perform properly. When sexual reproduction is not a necessity, neither are sexual hormones. They would be, in fact a detriment.

Since hormones affect the way the body works (including the manner in which an individual thinks and the decisions they make) they can easily disrupt the proper operation of the "weaponâ€

...Wes, any decision regarding just what the connection interface for the NH-29s will be? I know I made my suggestion, but if the NH-29 is capable of using a Mindy, that would mean the SLICS connection would still be used, right?

If not, they'd be stuck with operating the Kylie, or a variant (Ke-M2-2a?) of the Mindy armor would have to be made to accomodate the new connection type - well, I think...

Also, I was wondering, would the NH-29s have access to the NH-22M's Active Thermoptic Camouflage, the Shielded Mind and the psionic assault functions? The thermographic camouflage is useful to avoid Mishhuvurthyar sensors, the Mind Shielding is useful to block mental dominations and probes, and the psionic attacks would compensate for the diminution in physical strength.

I'm thinking a series of points on the neck that the suit would put its corresponding receptors and transmitters to. Still nothing set in stone, though. The NH-29 won't have the SLICS holes in its shoulders.

Wes, in the comparison chart, I believe the following should be changed :

'SPINE spine interface' should read 'SPINE dorsal interface' to avoid repetition.

I also believe that the NH-29 should have 3 fingers + thumb, not 4.

Aaa~aand, I've thought about it a lot this morning and I've become pretty convinced the NH-29 reproduction capabilities, as you've set them, sort of wastes the whole purpose of the type 29 neko. I mean, wasn't the point of this neko having childbearing capabilities like the NH-22C ('Yamataians')? The way you stated it in the document, the NH-29 can make younglings just like the NH-17... which is hardly an improvement for nekos interested in actual 'childbearing'.

Not to mention the reproduction section is in contradiction with the first entry in the special abilities (Lifespan).

And I still think earlier nekos should have an informative entry on them for the sake of completion, particularly the NH-12 and the NH-17T, even if not playable.
