"Just shut up," the captive Neko scowled at Richard. Still resting there on that horrible restraint system, the front flap of her uniform was now folded enough to show the black underwear she wore, as well as some of skin. Seemingly well aware of this, the Taii's cheeks had taken on a red tint. "Stop looking at me like that with your stupid monoeye - it's not my fault I got bigger!" Even with the steady pounding on the door, it seemed like she could care less at this point.
The NMX Neko herself seemed to feel the same way as the squad readied themselves, tossing to them the last of her weapons. "Y-you think sweet words are going to win me over ugly? You got some nerve!" she lightly growled at Delmar's compliment. With a "Hmph!", she crossed her arms like an angry little girl and turned her back on him. "Free the Star Army Neko yourself. And like I'd shoot at my bosses - we're not buddies!" Meanwhile, Ylfa moved again, now busying herself with the barely operational security console. The interface was grown over with bloody muck and mire, but enough of it was exposed for the thing to work.
"Yes! There's just enough power left in the backups - get out of that cell marines!" As soon as they were clear, the Sarge jammed her armored finger into one of the buttons, a force field humming to life on what dregs of power there was left. They'd likely only had a few minutes tops, but it was likely going to be enough given what was going to happen. The squad only had a few options on hand when it came to cover, either sheltering in the cells to the left or right, or huddling behind the security booth with Ylfa. But that meant that the enemy had just as bad a hand, and they were the ones on the offensive. And it was always easier to defend. As the Blond huddled behind the security station, waiting to lean out and take her shots, she paused as the sound stopped.
"Here they come Marines."
An electric blue explosion ripped and burned through the doorway as a hail of non-stop fire poured through the portal. Delmar's energy shields crackled under the assault but held just long enough for his massive cannon to fire off a spread into the flaming darkness. Dodging out of the way and back into cover with his thrusters, the marine traded off more than half his shields to get that shot off. The other marines, in cover, were partially suppressed, but could still lean out enough to get some bursts of fire down the hallway - through the smoke and fire, the enemy moved. Covered in tan colored heavy armor plates from head to tentacle and protected by energy shields, four Mishhu advanced into the brig as a pair of two-squid fire teams. All holding four
Service Rifles each with their mess of tentacles, the amount of hot tungsten they sent down at the Nepleslians was obscene to the point that the famous 'Rata-Tat-Tat' of the LASRs all bleeding together into a non-stop roar. Individually anemic in comparison to their HPAR, they were monstrous together.
The back wall behind the marines was absolutely shredded apart by the volume of fire that was being sent their way, the covering flesh burning away as the thin panels glowed hot and melted. With the security booth she was hiding behind literally falling apart, Ylfa still held her ground and blind fired overhead with her HPAR. "Let them get a little closer, and then yank them out one by one!" she hollered over the comms.
The Mishhu were methodically advancing, and were now only 7 cells away.
