Re: Rogue Trader - Into the Maw (OOC & Recruiting)
Roight, procrastination, sorry.
Here's SR's undiluted history for you, Aendri:
History: Zidarus was born three years after the birth of his brother Julian into the noble Lial family, which thrived in commerce atop of one of the most well-known Hiveworlds in the Imperium. Since birth, both brothers were often very competitive: games, garments, toys, strength, mettle... they used to compete over everything they had, and which had the best thing of the two. Of course, the older brother usually won, which made Zidarus all the more jealous, recentful and dramatic. Their parents had all that the wealth of the Imperium could offer, and both children became spoiled to no end into their adolescence. They had women, they had friends, they treated water and food as they would air.
When Hector Lial, their father, died from old age, his legacy was left in their arms. Despite their fights over who the rightful inheritor should be, the old man's will clearly stated that they would share the wealth half and half. Reluctantly, both brothers accepted half of the inheritance, and began to lead the Corporation their father had left to them in unison. Their agreement did not mean they could not lead the corporation from separate banners. With the division, half of the corporation was lead by Zidarus and the other half by Julian, and the resulting gains and profits from both sides would be compared against each other.
However, because Zidarus was so eager on finally defeating his brother, Zidarus began to make trades with underhivers, gangs from different worlds, space pirates and even some xeno species. With the additional underground profit Zidarus was making, he boosted the performance of his trader fleets, and even went as far as to hire pirates to loot his brother's fleets. Julian caught up to Zidarus' dealings, and began pulling his own strings in the underground world. But he was too late; all of the underground world in most of the sector already had ties with Zidarus at prime rates that, because of his lack of advance in profit, Julian was unable to pay.
Julian then tipped off local Adeptus Arbites of Zidarus' possible schemes with the black market. Little did Julian know that Zidarus had already thought of this possibility, and had been able to frame Julian for some crimes he had already committed. Zidarus sent a messenger to inform Julian of this. With the evidence Zidarus had, it was much too hard for Julian to escape innocent. And so, blackmailed, defeated and humiliated, Julian called off the Arbites, and merely continued to make lesser profits than his brother Zidarus in utter frustration.
In little time, Zidarus had a monopoly over the trade of materials and the private sector clientele. His renown became great. So great, in fact... that it took little time for word to spread through the Imperium of Lial Corp's success thanks to Hector's youngest son. With that much dedication to trade, Zidarus was a fine candidate for the Warrant of Trade.
Thus he became a Rogue Trader, and the Corporation was handed to his older brother Julian. In rage, Zidarus took the position with dread of defeat... It took little time for Zidarus to look at his position from a different point of view, however. Once he realized he was allowed to do things that Julian could only dream of doing, he rejoiced, and gladly took up the position.
