"How are you holding up?" Sanda looked around as the voice filled her helmet and finally spotted Kozakura. Right as rain was the response the tall Nepleslian woman wanted to respond with, not being one to admit weakness. But as this was a one on one conversation with a someone she regarded as a friend she said, "Honestly, I've been better." She chuckled weakly and even smiled under her helmet. "I could you use drink though."
Their conversation was interrupted by a wailing Itto Hei soldier and then another set of explosions that literally rocked them off their feet. "Great, Now what?" Sanda exclaimed as Kozakura helped her back on her feet. The Kuvexian were threatening to overwhelm the ship. Boarders were attacking all over and if they couldn't coronate the resistance they'd be overwhelmed. While Sanda's mind was still processing it all, in flew another power suit. But this one had four arms and a very large rump. "Music bug!"
Kwabba-an's armor opened up and Sanda saw the musician get weakly to her feet. She was covered in blood. Seeing her friend injured and in need removed all pain and tiredness from Sanda's body. She was filled with a fresh determination and moved forward to support Kwabba-an. "Hang in there sister, I've got you." Funny, calling the little bug sister didn't feel so strange now. It almost felt natural. "Kozakura, give me a hand with her. We'll get her to the med bay then head down to engineering and try to help keep these bastards off our engineers so they can fix this tub."
Kwabba-an hardly registered being spoken to, but when Sanda gave her support, the insectoid woman didn't hesitate to lean on the woman in the Daisy power armour.
"Thanks," was all she could muster as she continued trying to push herself along.
With the strange civilian ship moving away from the Yukikaze, Mikael looked at the patchwork while his forearm weapons found their marks in a single Kuvexian. He was no engineer, but the work did seem adequate. He then watched the 1st Fleet ships cleaning up the area. Being a far more dangerous concern for the Kuvexians, they began focusing on taking out the Super Heavy Cruisers so they could have clean runs on the juicy Sharie Class Battleships. He wanted to keep the murder train going, but orders were orders and his underlings needed a brief respite.
"Civilians have left the Yukikaze CFS zone. Return and rearm, we are out again in 10." Mikael said as the Yukikaze turns towards the massive debris fields that were the remains of fine Star Army of Yamatai ships and its allies. The Shimakaze turned towards the Yukikaze and made its way to dock with the underside of the Yukikaze. Such a move would bolster both of their defenses. It would be needed for the opportunists waiting in the debris for recovery teams.
When the formation made its way to the Power Armor Bay entrance, Mikael floated above it and provided covering fire against any Kuvexians that wanted to take advantage of the situation. Not that the scene within the bay was any less chaotic. The ship's power armor technicians and medics were scrambling, trying to triage which armor could be salvaged and who needed to go to the medical bay because they suffered too much trauma.
One particular Neko, not recognizable as someone from the crew or Giretsu Century, screamed in pain missing large parts of her legs and right arm. Her natural healing abilities were the only thing keeping her alive at the moment. A yellow tag could be seen on the back of her shoulder where she couldn't see. Another Neko, Hojo-hei of the Century, just sat there with a similar yellow tag and in a catatonic state.
The YSS Tokyo had taken a beating, the heavy damage incurred since they emerged to Glimmergold from Scrapyard was starting to be critical. Now that they had lost a forward prong of the ship there was no likely way they could repair the main canon during the battle. When Katsuko received Taisho Yui's instruction the decision was made, it was time to live another way. The Tokyo had pushed hard, they had proven their power and their strength within the Star Army way, the ship had definitely left a mark for its own legacy. "Eri, have Taihō Expeditionary Strike Group follow Yui's order and focus their main cannon fire on the last Kuvexian planet. Also, have our fighters and bombers come home once they have released their ordinance. Time to pack it in." she ordered. "Himawari, get us turned around and started back towards the portal, keep us on a vector so our retreat fire remains useful to the armada. You and Kage-Taisa have done well to keep us together,"she praised them for their work.
With the amount of damage the Tokyo had suffered, their STL drives had taken damage so they had to turn now or they risked being left behind when the rest of the fleet would retreat back through the portal when the last planet would fall. The accompanying ships inside of the Tokyo Expeditionary Group began to track backward except the YSS Shima Maru and the YSS Ise Maru which remained with the Taihō Expeditionary Strike Group to deliver the ordered last main cannon blows to the Kuvexian planet. The YSS Tokyo's turrets remained continuously active, a constant barrage of firepower was blasted towards the KIN ships that continued to push towards the armada.
Himawari said to Yaichiro, "We better take care of that one loose end." Due to the importance of the Izanagi-Class to the Star Army, there could not be foolish risks taken with her technology. The avatar overrode control of one of the ship's massive Anti-Fortress Turrets and unleashed a rain of aether plasma towards her own severed bow prong which shattered it and vaporized its remains.
The Tokyo's graviton beams swept and grabbed escape pods, damaged armors, and other craft as its slow, yet 'still in the game' retreat was in full swing. Fabrication in the shipyard sector of the ship was in full swing, Himawari knew that the last thing Katsuko would want would be the embarrassment of being towed home.
Four Shuryoku-Class Super Freighters, Two Anri-Class Deep-Space Repair Vessel, and Five Asuga-Class Tug delivered from the First Expeditionary Fleet's Logistics arrived at the edge of the system in a flash. The Freighters were heavy and full of pre-fabricated repair materials, damage control kits, and other supplies that would be critical to the aide of any of the International Armada that came back through the wormhole.
The weather was rough out there and that was a figure of speech. Lasers, pulse shots, and missiles were shot and the JDBW was doing its best to reach to push through this madness. The battle was getting into the allies' favor, but Miyu wondered at what price as they lost ships, fighters, and bombers in the process to make a huge dent into the Kuvexian economical system. The target was getting closer "ETA 45 seconds" Miyu announced over the wing communication frequency "Lock target and release at the go" The path towards the other warship were taken its toll, she already lost three out of her eight bombers and one was severely hit.
"YSS Tokyo to Red Dragon, a call for retreat has been given. Drop the load and come back home. I repeat a call for retreat has been given"
Nodding to the command that was given, but not yet relaying the message to the others. If she would then the mission might get into danger as every pilot was on edge. The bombers get closer and were already painted as targets by the KIN forces, fighters were doing their best to protect their fellow bombers. She lets the system calculate the route to vital spots of the warship "Ready....release!" With that, she clicked her weapons to release the heavy bombs as it course towards the enemy warship "PULL UP THIS GOING TO GET A SHOCKWAVE" The wing pulls up and on return vector to Tokyo.
The bombs went with a horizontal line towards the warship as some were shot down and divided from the course and exploded, but about 75% manage and penetrated the ship hull as explosions followed. The armory was then hit as a huge explosion was seen that cracked the ship from below, the cracks quickly spread over the hull as other parts now exploded as well. The warship was taken out, but the shockwave followed for quite some distance as the wing manage to avoid it. Fighters pulled back with the bombers to Tokyo who was managing to turn slowly around to make their escape "Emergency docking everyone, get on board that ship and ready yourself for the jump!" She orders over the wing communication.
The bomber quickly made a soft but good landing onto the hanger bay and made its way towards one of the docking stations to get into the lock. Miyu took off the helmet and got out of her chair after deactivating her Ginga systems. She was the last one to exit the bomber and jumps onto the deck looking at everyone that was getting ready to get the hell out of there. Their work was done, but the question remained, was it enough?
Now that it appeared that the tide of battle was turning at least for the time being, Hiroki joined his platoon in returning to the power armor bay. His Mindy had taken damage and it would need repairs. The medical and technical staff were operating at a frantic pace, and although Hiroki had lost one of his power armor's antennae and his gauss cannon alongside his heart begging to get back out into the fray, he was willing to wait until it was his turn for an examination and repairs. The wounded and the traumatized did not escape his sight however, and he felt his heart sink upon seeing the Neko without pieces of her leg or her arm. TV shows and movies always showed war in the most exciting, action-packed light, but for some of those that fought in it, Hiroki understood that war was anything but awesome to them.
When the time arrived for his Mindy to get checked out, Hiroki had a new antenna installed and his gauss cannon replaced. Diagnostics were run and showed that Hiroki's Mindy was not experiencing any abnormalities or would be anytime soon. He could not shake the feeling that the Kuvexians would just give up once all of their present banking worlds were destroyed, and he decided to share his concerns with Mikael via contacting him and asking, "Shibuya to Century Leader, has it crossed your mind at all that the Kuvexians may continue to fight should they lose all of their planets here? I have a feeling that they may not surrender so easily if and when that happens."
Hiroki took the opportunity to check his CAR to ensure that it was still in working order. The reprieve from battle was appreciated, but sooner or later he would have to return to the vacuum of space to continue delivering punishment to the enemies of Yamatai and their allies.
As the footage rolled through and the brutality of the fight was on full display, Aaron began to have doubts. His personal feelings regarding the scripted conclusion had him asking questions. As green as he was, he knew he had a duty to report the news, but as his hands shifted from a balled fist to a relaxed state, red flags began to pop up in his head. He hurriedly rationalized it away, believing it to be first time jitters or something of a similar nature.
The countdown began once more, and Aaron had to be coaxed out of his internal crisis. He cleared his throat, straightened up, and mentally prepared himself for the mic to turn in and the pointing fingers to signal. Three, two-
"We would like to thank Hei-Tatsugami for her courage and willingness to join our troops on the frontlines and bring us this live coverage of the war. We hope to see her home soon with the rest of our troops."
He had a moment to take a quick breath, and then he continued. Beihu's previous frown had slowly developed into a smile by this point. Whealdottir was right, this kid was great in a pinch.
"With this critical moment in history, Yamatai's forces continue to prove their suplem-" he cleared his throat, "Excuse me... continue to provide ample numbers to address these confrontations."
The smile dropped to a frown and Beihu leaned over to look at his copy of the script. That wasn't what was written at all. A concerned gaze shot back to the stand-in reporter. The kid had it right the first time!
"It is clear that the retreat of the Kuvexian forces indicates a shift of focus, Yamatai being able to declare today as a victory for the empire. Thank you for tuning into the station. I'm Aaron Boxley with SANDRA News. We'll see you next time."
Everything cut off on cue. Stage workers rushed to ready everything for the next shift. Beihu and Whealdottir started with bewildered gazes, studying the Journalist who just overruled their decisions. The dark skinned Minkan had to blink a couple times as her superior remembered to breathe and leaned towards her. "Wheal... can you explain what just happened on my set?"
"No sir," she admitted, disappointment in her gaze, "but I'll certainly handle it from here." She walked up to Boxley as the accessories were powered off and removed from his person. She beckoned to him, and Boxley willingly followed after. He knew what was coming.
As they stepped outside, the tall young man stood at attention with strict rigidity as he was berated. Whealdottir held no punches and overturned every stone, using a considerable amount of expletives to convey her rage. Beihu was impressed by his coworker's passionate outburst. This report was supposed to be uplifting! This report was supposed to invigorate the people and encourage the young to join the army! This was supposed to be a sensational moment that would bring lots of attention to the news! And Whealdottir let him know exactly how badly he let everyone down with his 'last minute decisions!'
"If you think after this they're gonna give you a second chance- YOU'RE INSANE! Get out of here, Boxley, before my boss has half a mind to skin both you and me ALIVE! This is exactly how you disrespect your superiors and spit on their stripes!"
By the end of Whealdottir's tirade she was out of breath, her face scrunched together with the residual effects of her mood. But she remained tall and firm, waiting for the Santô Hei to make a reply. She would punch his lights out if he did.
Boxley stood silently, absorbing it all and making no efforts to excuse his actions. He couldn't even look at her by the end of it all, his eyes downcast in shame. He felt his throat seize up and he pressed his lips together to keep them from quivering. There was nothing he could stand on... She was right. He bowed to her, so low his back was almost horizontal, and barely squeaked out a shaky reply.
"Thank you, Jôtô Hei, for this opportunity. I apologize for humiliating you and your team. It won't happen again."
When he stood tall Whealdottir's face immediately softened. He was holding back tears as he turned and exited, a harsh snuff of breath ripping through clogging nostrils. The Minkan could only shake her head in disappointment and sadness. She tried to give him a chance; he was the one who blew it-
"Uh, Hei-Beihu, sir?" The Separa'Shan turned to address the speaker from the analytics team. Before the Phod could continue he was cut off, a fuming reporter walking onto the stage. It wasn't Boxley, but rather the reporter who was supposed to be reporting at that hour. Beihu approached him to ward his anger away from the others, including a curious Whealdottir.
"Just tell me you want me gone to my face next time!"
"What are you going on about, Ryunosuke?"
"I don't need to have telepathy to read your minds! I can see through all this Boxley-nonsense that you had it out for me for a while!"
"Woah, wait, what are you talking about-!"
The phone was shoved into the Director's hand. Whealdottir sidled up beside him as her boss scrolled through the social media feed on display. Ryunosuke stood with crossed arms as he waited to be addressed, and Beihu's gaze widened in surprise. The feed was blowing up with comments and pictures where Boxley was center-stage. Comments ranging from criticism for using a new face (expected), to praising the company for getting a new face (unusual), to a whole thread of comments appreciating the conciseness and unbiased reporting of the events (unexpected), to a random wave of young girls talking about his attractiveness and claiming to watch the news just to see him again (creepy). Other comments were outright distasteful, gross, and ignored.
"Alright, yeah, he's a new face. So what, Ryu?" He handed the phone back. "Happens all the time with a new guy in the spotlight."
Before Yiitora could say anything, the Phod finally had enough courage to speak up, gaining the unintended attention of the entire crew. She looked back at her numbers before confirming. "Sir, we have a sustained viewership increase of 3%."
"Since when?" Beihu said.
"Since now, sir. Began 10 minutes following Boxley's debut on the breaking news. It's still being sustained." Beihu said nothing, staring in silence before sending a sidelong glance to Whealdottir, who reflected a clueless stare back. That hadn't happened since Ryunosuke's debut back in 27 YE, and he only broke even the first time he went live...
[EXIT AARON BOXLEY]
Thank you so much for letting me participate!! Love you all dearly and I'm so glad to be here!
Kozakura smiled behind her helmet's visor when Sanda said she could use a drink, she wasn't much of a drinker herself but felt the sentiment. That was when an allied mindy came crashing into the bay. She recognized it immediately due the large custom rear end. Kwabba! Already moving into action after she helped Sanda to her feet, the pair was quickly by the bug's side. She helped get Kwabba's opposite side so that the two of them together could support her weight and carry her to the medbay. "Try to keep talking Kwabba-an, stay with us."
Kwabba-an felt her feet lift away from the floor. Her head lolled forwards as she tried to look down, not quite understanding. Familiar voices played a melody that should have meant something to her, but she understood only the pitch, rhythm, dynamics, timbre, and texture of the sensation in her ears. She recognized the singers, but not the song.
"Sisters," she spoke the word as someone would say "land" after being stranded adrift at sea. "I am floating. I thought I got out of my Mindy. Is that not funny?"
William fought hard alongside Rei, Aiko, and the legionaries attempting to wreck the enemy's station. He was dispatching a group of enemy PAs when Aiko finally spoke.
"Aiko what are you doing?" He asked privately, his alarmed tone hard to hide as she gave away her weapon and charged down the barrel of the gun. "Shit everyone back!" He ordered, grabbing Rei's armor and flying away from the cannon.
When Aiko ejected from the end of the barrel and detonated her PA, William immediately flew out and caught the pod on its path to the Kaiyo.
"Aiko...!" He said holding her pod carefully as he continued on course back to the Kaiyo, much faster than the pod could have done. "You are so lucky we are in space because otherwise I'd...!" He trailed off. Taking a deep breath and letting out a sigh he added. "Just don't try and give me a heart attack again please?" He asked as they flew back to the ship.
NSS Southpaw Bridge
Admiral Valke watched as the ships they were defending began to fire at the Kuvexian planets. His bridge crew began to cheer as the planets began to burn, but a quick order from Valke stopped them. "Don't start celebrating yet, we aren't done yet." He said as he checked the status of his other ships. Two of the Assualt carriers had been destroyed. SAR (Search and Rescue) birds were already in the air and collecting life pods. Three more carriers were heavily damaged and were forced to turn back.
His own ship had suffered minor damage but was still operating within acceptable range. "Tactical keep up the fire! We are almost through this but we need to hold out just a bit longer." He ordered. He then turned to the rest of the crew. "After this I'm renting out several bars and the first round for everyone will be on me!"
The three 'Daughters of Yamatai' moved down the corridor towards the Med bay. Red alarm lights flashed everywhere casting everything in a weird light. Just as the Med day came in sight so did a Kuvexian boarder. Sanda had right arm around Kwabba-an but her left arm with the Plasma rifle attached to her shield was free to fire. The tall Nepleslian stepped forward, twisting her body so that it blocked Kwabba-an and sent a burst of plasma down the hall. In the tight hallway, the Kuvexian had no room to dodge the shots and was brought down. Sanda held her ground a moment, making sure there weren't any others around the corner. Carefully they moved forward but no other surprises were waiting for them and they made it safely to the Med bay.
The two woman placed their little bug friend on an examination table where she was quickly examined by the medic. Satisfied that Kwabba-an was getting taken care of Sanda moved back to the door and peered up and down the hall. She didn't see anything but knew that the ship was crawling with enemies. She glanced back at the Kozakura, "What do you think? You want to stay here and watch the Med bay or go see if we can't help out our engineers?"
Aiko hadn't expected William to intercept her pilot pod. She'd asked for cover, after all, and not a rescue. Nonetheless, the Ketsurui princess did not complain about the added protection William's state-of-the-art Nepleslian assault suit provided her ejected cockpit. And weary as she was from the intense battle against the Empire's Kuvexian nemesis, Aiko took the moments now in the safe clutches of William's Cyclops to calm her mind and rest her senses. There was likely still some more fighting ahead.
"Thanks, Wil," Aiko said as they re-entered the Kaiyo's armor bay. Part of her Kirie's maintenance and storage area had a spot for its pilot pod, and William knew to put her down there. Once the pod was seated atop its struts, it cracked open along its middle to let her out. Aiko uncurled from her fetal position within its confines and rolled to her feet, already prepared to enter the fray again.
"Get back out there, don't wait for me!" she encouraged her Nepleslian friend while she jogged over to where her Mindy 4 sat ready. Her Star Army bodysuit was drenched in sweat — even fighting with a Thought Armor's immersion controls did not exempt a soldier from the stresses of war — and clung to every one of her brawny, battle-tensed curves as she crossed the deck. "The others need your strength more than I do right now."
YSS Musashi
Flagship of the Third Fleet
"You heard Yui-taisho," Admiral Hokusai affirmed impatiently to her head communications officer. While the Star Army commander's message had come through for most on the command deck to hear, Hokusai still needed to confirm it for her subordinates. Those little formalities and procedures would never stop annoying the battle-born Taisho no matter how far removed from power armor combat her lofty rank dictated.
"Order our remaining Sharie-class to bombard that last Kuvexian world," she explained. Only a few of her 20 battleships were still in fighting condition. The Third Fleet lacked as many big capital vessels as the other increasingly modernized formations in the Star Army, but fought more fiercely than most thanks to their years of experience. "The Super Eikan, too! Every aether shock array we can throw at them will help ensure that the space in this system will never again be of use to the Kingdom."
Kaiyo 2 before transit and then the ship with Wulf Soban
Kiyo smiled behind her helmet as she heard her beloved’s reply to her statement. Like Wulf, she too felt blessed, she had a man who loved her, and whom she loved, and an adorable daughter who was so cute. After Wulf, she shot out of the Kaiyo 2 and slowly sunk into her usual combat state allowing her to focus on the attack. Now free of the Kaiyo’s embrace, she activated her thrusters and shot forward towards her enemy. Her Silverlight lifted the grip tightened allowing it to glow a brilliant hue, making those familiar with the weapon’s mechanism think that rage mode was activated.
Much like Wulf, she activated her: Teleport, which brought her close to her target, a probably greedy Kuvexian. The blade had been positioned at the base of the neck and with a harsh swipe, using her own strength, and the Mindy’s augmented strength, and the sharpness of the Blade, it came through like butter. Anyone else would make a comment such as shoo fly, but Kiyo remained silent only kicking the now headless body away.
Her sensors picked up Wulf, being amazing, She wanted to back him up, so she had her systems pinpoint his exact location, and gasped as she saw where he was on the ship. She thought it would be best to back up Wulf, since Aiko had William and she didn’t think they needed her help. Her sensors picked up the heat so when it subsided, she teleported in beside him. Anyone unprotected will be affected by the noise. In the large room she appeard, in front of him after he killed the beasts. “Hey handsome” She greeted as her sensors picked up the carnage and the fact that Wulf had been the only Star Army personnel in the area. She held Silverlight close, and she activated Pulse Cannons, in preparation for the attack.
“Sweetie, you’re a badass, another reason why I love you! Come lets go find the rest of these guys. Her voice was heard in his ear.
Kozakura looked back to Kwabba-an with worry, though her expression was hidden behind her mask. In a way she felt responsible for the woman, and in another she cared for her quite a bit already. "I'm going to stay here and guard the wounded," she said a bit selfishly. "Seeing a boarder that deep within the ship has me on edge." Still she wasn't sure if she was making the right decision or not. Loading up the ships maps on her HUD, she looked to see how far it was to engineering incase backup was needed.
Fletcher looked at the tactical display. "Condense the fleet, we are going for the last planet in the system. Deploy all spaceborne assets, we are going to have to take this one a bit slower. Soon as we are in range, fire on the last planet." He said, the fleet was already badly damaged, but this battle was important, and one he intended to win for Yamatai.
YSS Ranger
Black Wolf had cleared the station, none of the Kuvexians survived. Then the Ranger had been back to pick them up. The Ranger had fought with Seventh Fleet, the only ship of it's Squadron that wasn't destroyed or damaged at this point in the battle. As the Seventh fleet flowed together, the powered armor troops spilled back out. The Ranger took it's part on the leading edge of the formation and it plunged like a sword into the middle of an enemy fleet.
Sacre's Black Wolf Squad was in the thick of the battle again, whizzing through space and doing it's best to protect the Ranger from the other infantry and fighters in the swarm.
Hoshi replied to Gravity, "Of course, engage enemies with aetheric beam." The enemy fire had begun striking at their ship and had broken past CFS. Hoshi gripped the arm rest of her captain's chair while engaging her body's gravitational control so that she wouldn't be knocked around the bridge.
The captain looked to her safety and systems monitor, who did not have as much, "Nerai-shoi, are you okay?!" In her digital mind, the captain started looking over damage to the ship.
"Gravity-shoi," Hoshi declared, "do not engage turbo aether plasma drives until engineering gets the nacelle's reactor fixed! With auxillary engines, steer us towards that wormhole. "
"Sjet-hei," Hoshi said to engineering, "Our port side nacelle's anti-matter injector is offline!" She knew the order to fix it need not be said. With a fixed gaze, she looked to the viewscreen in front of her and steadied her mind, looking over external sensors on many screens within her digital brain, assessing the ship's next move, if she could make one.
Kwabba-an continued to listen and didn't give any indication that she noticed when she was jostled around in the firefight. The sound of plasma fire made her frown slightly, but she visibly cheered up when she heard Sanda and Kozakura's voices. When they laid her down on the exam table, she rolled onto her uninjured side and curled, still clutching tightly at where the shrapnel had torn into her. She looked up, but she couldn't keep her head steady and while she may have been trying to look at them, she didn't end up looking at anything in particular. Her pupils were visibly dilated and her skin was a much paler shade of red than it normally was.
A massive energy lance shot out from the last Essai machine world, and combined with the fire of the Yamataian dreadnaughts to pierce and silence the last Kuvexian banking world forever. It glowed from inside, with points of light appearing all over its surface, and then popped in a splatter of white-hot magma. Immediately the portal to the Kikyo Sector reopened and the embattled Essai planet made a run for it.
YSS Battle of Yamatai Bridge
"This is the commander to all allied forces," Yui transmitted. "As much as I would like to stay here and finish off the Kuvexian fleets, we're still at a significant numerical disadvantage. This was a raid mission and we've done what we came to do. It's time to go home. Form up and get into the portal as a unit because we're going to have to slam the door on the Kuvexians behind us. Take any escape pods you can, and destroy anything you don't want Kuvexian salvagers to find. You fought well today. I'll see you on the other side."
YSS Resurgence Bridge
"New heading!" Majime ordered. "187 mark 15. Set course for the wormhole. Recall all armors and fighters immediately!"
"Aye captain, Bringing her about," Gabriela nodded, grabbing her controls.
"Repairs completed." Steiner reported, standing. "Good, cause that planet's gone and the wormhole's open-all thrusters maximum burn!" The Stonewall began its trek towards the portal, Steiner used several drones to snag some salvage for himself-several damaged power armors and a damaged fighter; perhaps there would something that he could learn by studying whatever was still intact. Perhaps he could do a little scavenging when they got back to the scrapyard system.
"I'm going to stay here and guard the wounded. Seeing a boarder that deep within the ship has me on edge." Said Kozakura. Sanda looked back down the hall way again. She had had the same thought. IT was very worrying that the Kuvexian had made it all the way to the Med bay. The wounded here were completely defenseless. But if the engineers couldn't get the ship fixed, or if enemy armor made it to any of the critical stations and sabatoshed them they'd be stuck literally in the middle of an angry wasp nest that had must been kicked. "Alright," Sanda said to Kozakura. "I'm going to check the nearest engineering station. If you see anything, let me know and I'll come back and give you support." With that Sanda activated her stealth mode and disappeared from sight.
As she approached the engineering station, Sanda could hear the sounds of a struggle. Rounding the corner, she saw a neko in red fighting off a Kuvexian with a large spanner. Sanda raised her rifle to fire but couldn't. The neko and her attacker were too close together for a clean shot. Besides, if Sanda missed there was a danger of hitting station behind them. So Sanda stepped forward and grabbed the Kuvexian from behind. She had always been a strong woman, and her Daisy suit amplified that. With a firm hold of the power suit Sanda twisted it around and slammed it against the wall. She then grabbed the helmet and slammed it as hard as she could against the wall. The helmet visor cracked and the gold power armor lay still on the ground. Sanda turned to the neko and asked, "You ok?" The neko nodded. "Good, get whatever it is you were working on fixed. I'll cover you."
NSS Wrath of Nepleslia
Caffran Canterbury
Two gold power armors stopped short has they came upon one of their own face down on the ground. The two suits began looking around for where the attack might have come from. From out of the darkness above it a cord slipped down and around the neck of one of the suits. It's surprised yell was cut off as the noose tightened and it was hoisted off the ground. Using the Kuvexian suit as a counterweight, Caffran descended down behind the other as it stared up at the ceiling at it's companion. It's neck was exposed and Caffran ran his Straight Silver blade into the throat. The suit fell forward, holding its neck and twitching on the deck. Caffran watched it dispassionately for a moment before directing his attention up to the other suit still hanging from the ceiling. The Nepleslian corporal cut the cord and waited for the suit to fall to the ground before jumping on top of it and dispatching it the same way he had killed the first suit. Leaving the bodies where they lie, Caffran draped his camo-cake over his shoulder and disappeared into the shadows, waiting for the next enemy to come through.
YSS Thunder Struck
Trowa Yamamoto
The Super Eikan-class Heavy Cruise, YSS Thunder Struck, moved towards the wormhole. It was finally time to get out of here. Trowa sat at the weapon station and was scanning for his next target. The battle had been intense and he could feel sweat dripping down his forehead. Just before Glimmergold he had received orders that he was to be promoted to an officer, something that the eye patch wearing Nepleslian had been working towards since he first joined the Star Army. The Thunder was short staffed so he got a temporary assignment to the big heavy cruiser just for the Battle of Glimmergold. Not that he was complaining. This thing really packed a punch. He loved his Plumeria-class (2E) Medium Gunship the Aeon II but this was fun. Another wavy of enemy ships was moving in on the damaged Tokyo and Trowa let them have a barraged of anti-starship turrets to punish them for there greed.
