SCREECH! The packed train, painted in matte weathered Star Army Cadet Blue and bearing an older version of the Star Army's hinomaru emblem--a soldier in a "Mindy" power armor suit, in the middle of a maroon circle with a thick white border--marked the heavily-used locomotive, which hauled dozens of passenger cars with both military and civilian colors. Ternifac was an unusual city. Geographically situated in the deadly Jhuniata desert within the borders of the somewhat mysterious elf republic of Xiuluria, it was the only city on the planet without a regional police force assigned to it, and its unregulated skyscrapers built on top of each other in the enclave gave it a distinctly cyberpunk look of a "concrete jungle wrapped in lights" as a popular song about the city described, as well as the lyrics "where the blues and reds meet, where the yakuza rule the street, where's there's love hotels above the bars, and life's as cheap as meat." But its shady, messy nature in the middle of a planet otherwise known for cleanliness and order only added to its mystique and made it a popular stop on Yamatai's main East-West rail line.

THE THIRST TRAP was a bar immediately across from the station, basking in the glow of colorful neon lights and volumetric logos, positioned next to a popular ramen shop, a sushi bar, and a tunnel that led down into the city's red-light district. Above it, small windows of a love hotels and ugly micro-apartments looked out at the passing trains as soldiers, visitors, and workers poured out of the crowded trains and into the city. There were humans, androids, aliens, and anthros all mingled together. Inside the bar, new patrons began to arrive....

At the counter was a busty green-skinned, red-eyed woman pouring drinks and asking for good stories.

"Civilization, planet-bound civilization, after so long. Feels like a dream. Whether its a good one or a bad one remains to be seen"

In came through the bar's main entrance a total stranger clad in an orange lineless coat. It was almost as if the man's physical characteristics were in a constant battle with his garments to point out to anyone who cared enough to look just how out of place he was.

He stood around for a bit, taking in his surroundings, not that different from back in Nepleslia but different enough to keep things interesting. His face was, just like the rest of him, was a light shade of brown, a testament to the eclectic mix of ethnicities he had in his blood. The bags he once sported under his eyes were mostly gone, replaced with faints black marks that were difficult to see if someone wasn't looking too closely.

Eventually, he decided he had seen everything he needed to see and sat down at a stool right by the bar. "Greetings" is the only thing that came out of his mouth.

After a long night of doing heaven knows what in the red-light district a short Nepleslian woman named Anna Kaine exited the tunnel. She was immediately basked in an onslaught of neon lights, which made her pull the hood of her black jacket a little further over her face. The train's screech mere background noise while her thoughts drowned everything else out.

She stepped over the threshold into the Thirst Trap, her hands dropping the hood of her jacket back to reveal her pale facial features framed by a black forward angled bob. Her green eyes lasered in on the bar, a path her combat boot clad feed swiftly carried her. With a soft "hup" she hopped into a stool just one seat over from the stranger in an orange coat. "Ugh" she groaned quietly in exhaustion, her face sank into her hands before combing back through her hair, partially revealing a neck tattoo.

This moment was interrupted by what she thought was someone addressing her by saying, "Greetings." Regretfully she cast a curt side glance towards the man, not out of any rudeness towards him, Anna was just absolutely exhausted. "Huh?" she half mumbled.

Inside the bar scooting around making sure to deliver drinks to the correct people, was a new temporary addition to the bar, small and quite the creature scooted around placing drinks and taking orders to the bar only to return a few moments later with a freshly poured or mixed drink, many didn't notice the small creature till it was taking their order, as it was in fact a D3! doing what any D3 did helping out. They had arrived to see the place at a time where it had a lot of customers and was short staffed and so being a D3 they naturally asked to help, that had been a few days ago and now here she was serving drinks and taking orders.

Scooting by two new arrivals the small D3 looked to them and waved before delivering the drinks they were carrying to their respective customers and then scooting off to quickly clean a spill before getting back behind the bar, having to stand on a step stool to be seen over the bar counter, she was one of the bartenders on duty today, more a part time hire on then a full fledged member of staff, but she was already well versed in the simpler drinks the place offered so she could handle them.

Her work of course drew her to the two that were sitting at the bar at the moment and She picked up a data pad and typed on it before turning it to the two of them the data pad reading "Welcome! what can I get for you?".

Milsha had just made it to planet not to long ago, and she carefully made her way through the crowd, though her size and appearance helped in making a path through, she was told she was likely going to find a place to spend the night in this area, though she had a clear Idea as to why but a room was a room and she would need one to rest in hopefully for a decent price as well.

Taking great care to go around a group that clearly had started their celebrations early, she found her way to a bar with a place to sleep above it, and best of all the door was wide enough to allow her to enter the building, if only barely and with a bit of wriggling. And so she did so, opening then door and working her way carefully through it and towards a table off to the side for the time being, wanting to get a feel for the place before she went and started asking things up front of course.

There wasn't an obvious need for a destination to the white haired woman that walked into the quippy named bar. She looked around as if deciding whether to linger, one foot out the door on the streets of Ternifac and one in. She was dressed for the colder fall weather in nice boots, tight jeans, and soft sweater with a brown and dusty gold scarf peeking out of its collar. The exorbitant fabric of the scarf made the shape of her body top-heavy and obfuscated much of her chin and mouth, but the edges of her wavering smile peeked through as she looked around with bright purple eyes. Something caught her eye and she walked with a determined gate to sit at the bar, waiting for the green-skinned bartender's gaze before she spoke.

"Is that what I think it is?" Koizumi Aratani asked, pointing to a bottle on a high shelf behind the woman as Aratani's face rose in a look of excitement her tall scarf couldn't hide. "I won't be having it, of course, but you have quite the selection if you have that! I will be having two shots of that Nepleslian whiskey one shelf down, if that's alright with you."

"Lots of noise in here, most of it meaningless. But the prospects of chatting someone up are looking good"

Leonard noticed the woman that sat almost right next to him side-eye him, he realized she must have thought he spoke to her by the way she looked at him. At least he hoped that wasn't a look of annoyance on her face. "Hello to you too" Before he could get another word in, he was accosted by what looked like a D3, only quite smaller than the ones he'd seen at the ship he worked. "Any specials on the menu today? If not then what do you suggest?" He fidgeted, readjusting his coat and stretching his arms and legs. It certainly felt surreal stepping foot on Yamatai, something he would have fought tooth and nail to avoid doing in the past, guess it wasn't that bad...so far.

Humans, it turns out, were not such a rare sight after all. The sight of one without any augmentations must surely be something rather unusual, Leonard hoped this wouldn't invite the wrong kind of attention, heavens knew he was outmatched by nearly everything in the bar, hopefully not outgunned though.

After a night out, Alarsi wasn’t ready to call it quits. Feeling parched, she craved another drink. While her friends had decided to head home, she wasn’t ready to leave just yet. She was curious to see what this district had to offer for a good night.

Crossing the street, she approached a bar called The Thirst Trap. She pushed past the crowd gathered outside and made her way inside. As her eyes adjusted to the bright lights, she took in the scene around her.

Navigating through the other patrons, Alarsi reached the bar. With a slight smile, she nodded to those nearby and patiently waited for the bartender.

Exiting one of the trains with her hood raised she took in her surroundings for a moment. Selena had traveled to nearly every star but this was one stop at the top of her bucket list.Lowering her hood as her silver hair flowed behind her she spotted the bright neon sign for the bar and contemplated her options. Since she was more of a go with the flow kind of woman she pulled out her silver coin and flipped it to help her decide and when it landed on her hand"Hmm Tails..looks like we're going in" she said to herself.

As she followed the pathway leading away from the station she pushed passed the other patrons who stood outside and stepped inside the bar feeling the lively atmosphere and took a seat in one of the more isolated corners of the room and just observed for the time being. As much as she was dying for a stiff drink and maybe a hot man she figured it would be safer to make sure that the vibe was good.

The D3 blinked a bit as the question of specials was asked about and then nodded rapidly holding up the pad after the typed out a message on it "Yes we have something called a Yamatai sunrise, but I don't know how to mix it yet, I will let the other more experienced bartender mix it for you and then bring it over!" she let him read then gave a thumbs up.

Then she scooted off to a newcomer that had joined the bar, and held up the pad for Alarsi to read "What can I get you? the message read as she gave the order for the sunrise to the other bartender while she mixed up a strong coffee for the tired woman, it wasn't ordered but the D3 had seen other tired people order as such before getting a proper drink so she assumed this would be enjoyed, if not at least she tried and she could have it herself as her one free drink while working the bar.

As she waited for Alarsi to reply she placed the coffee in front of Anna Kaine as well as a few packets of sugar and some powder sweetener in case she wanted them then scooted back to where Alarsi was to await her order while the another bartender had mixed Leonard's drink, giving it to the D3 she nodded and delivered it to the man before once more returning to hear what Alarsi was going to order.

----------------------

Milsha continued to rest at her table, the large Drider form seeing that most seemed to head to the bar to get their drinks, so from where she sat she looked over the menu of drinks they had up for people that didn't go tot he bar, thankfully available on every table. Going through to see if there was anything that would have a good taste, since she learned quite early on that the recreational drinks of most of the species of this sector tended to act more like a stimulant for her rather then an inebriater like it did for the rest of the species around her here

As people disembarked from the train, a pair was there waiting, dressed in white long coats stained by the colors of the surrounding neon lights. "I suppose this is where we part for now," the woman with violet hair said, stepping onto the transport and leaving behind her companion. "I'll see you back at the capital!"

"Be safe. We'll have to compare notes with the others," replied the icy-blue haired companion as he backed away to allow other passengers to pass through without having to bump into him.

Once the train had set off, he made his way to the Thirst Trap, needing to refill certain liquids for whatever travels he had planned. His stride was purposeful, but it was clear that this was not his usual haunt as his eyes scanned the environment with an unfamiliar gaze. As he entered, he would pause his steps just long enough to find the bar and claim a spot next to the patrons who were already there.

Tapping his left hand gently on the countertop, exposing a mechanical hand of the same shade as his coat in the process, he asked, "What is your strongest drink available?"

She crossed her legs and leaned forward slightly, resting her hands lightly on the bar. "Whiskey Sour, please," she said softly, her eyes drifting over the other patrons, observing their actions.

Noticing a new patron sit down at the bar, she gave a polite nod in greeting, as she wasn’t one for small talk. She briefly caught sight of the person's mechanical hand but quickly looked away to avoid seeming rude, patiently waiting for her drink.

Anna was shocked by the man's return greeting, yet pleased it seemed that he had not intended to address her. She was in a bit of a sarcastic mood and heavens knew who would look past that. "Hi," the short woman muttered before put two fingers to her forehead and flicked them forwards in an awkward wave blended with her militaristic habits. Her eyes flicked forward to see a familiar face before her, a very capable and recent addition to the staff at the bar. "Something to rip energy back into my soul, or alcohol, whichever." she said a bit sassily with affection for one of her favorite bartenders.

Her gaze drifted back over to Leonard as he adjusted in what seemed like an uncomfortable manner, she flicked her eyes back forward to her own thoughts not wanting to intrude. That's when she noticed Alarsi, she offered an awkward uncomfortable smile in return to the one given by the newcomer. "Thank all that is good, this is perfect!" Anna said as D3 brought her coffee and Anna paid for her drink. She caressed the cup in between her hands taking in a whiff before she set about applying sugar packets that D3 had brought. "Delightfully delicious" she hummed to herself as she took a sip.

"Good thing Gunny is not here or he would be trying to steal some of this." she amused quietly to herself though some at the bar might have heard her. Anna's black bob shifted slightly mid sip when she caught Alarsi quickly turning to look away from the patron with augmentations. It was nothing new to her seeing these kinds of modifications, "Oh she must be new around here," the Nepleslian woman thought. Though she could not exactly pin down why that might be based on the woman's description. Her analytical gaze lingered for a moment before flicking back forward. She was not one for small talk, or talk at all, especially with strangers.

A Nekovalkyrja woman wearing red stepped through the Thirst Trap's busy threshold and surveyed the bustling bar in search of someone. But her outfit neither sexy nor alluring, and was the trademark uniform of a Ketsurui Samurai. Her scarlet hakama and white kimono shielded her physical form with baggy linen, and the darker crimson haori jacket that hung loosely on her shoulders did not help to flatter the perfect Valkyrja body hidden underneath.

She looked like a cop more than anything. And indeed she was. One of the few samurai sometimes detailed away from Imperial guard duties to investigate matters of import to the clan. Today, though, she had some free time to herself and had come to see an old friend. Soon enough, the samurai spied her acquaintance at the bar and slid through the Thirst Trap's other patrons, dodging droplets of spilled beer and undisciplined elbows as if she'd done so a thousand times before.

"Good choice, Koizumi-kun," Tokuko said to the ashy-haired Star Army officer with a lazy grin plastered across her face. The samurai's right hand—the one not holding her katana—gently danced its way up on fingertips from the small of Aratani's back to the middle of her spine. "Ternifac is always fun. A reminder of Nepleslia when it was still ours," she added, looking around again with some admiration in her red eyes in memory of her own past serving in Yamataian Funky City.

"What are we drinking, then? The sake here's terrible, but their malt vintages usually impress."

The man in the white coat nodded back to the woman who had ordered a Whiskey Sour. A polite acknowledgement of the greeting offered. He had noticed the shift of her eyes from his hand and then away from it. In response he flared his fingers out and turned it to the side to allow a better look, a gesture that he hoped expressed that it was nothing he was sensitive about.

"I had thought about making it look more natural," he started to speak, his head leaning just a few degrees towards the woman. "But that would just have been boring, no?"
