Mel nodded to him. "If it would get you clemency, would you turn him in?" she asked. concerned for his well being. "I can understand he's your brother but if you didn't like what you were duped into you have no shame in reporting it." she said. "What was it? I'm not YSE as you can see," she asid flapping her wings as she splinted his arm.

Aendri shook his head, at the thought that Mel believed he would refuse to give the man care without reason. He'd just told the man that he had the right to refuse it if he thought it was pointless. But on the subject of the slaving, now, that was a different matter.

Toshiro watched as the various Neko were freed from the cells. Some shuddered and desperately clung to their saviors for comfort, while others tried to attack and spit upon their captors.

One particularly strong Neko managed to make deep gashes in the face of a nasty looking man before she was pulled back by Star Army personnel. Of course, a keen eye might notice that they didn't try very hard to hold her back in the first place.

"This reminds me of when we saved Kairi...I wonder how she's doing..."

The SAoY Officers shooed the Yggdrasill people gently back to their own ship to deal with the slaves, promising to let them have the Frieghter...after using iy as evidence in a brief trial. The man with the wound was found to have been blackmailed into being the ship's defense, and only acted in the interest of self preservation. The ship's computer proved that. He was not arrested.

Toshiro had finally gotted free of his armor and returned to the ship. He sighed, looking over at the Leviathan through a window and wondering if any rewards would result from all of this...not the fight, but the SAoY ships they'd found.

Aendri headed through the ship, not really with any destination in mind, more just wandering looking for something to occupy him. When he came across Toshiro, he paused, glanced around, and moved closer. "Sir? Are you okay?"

Toshiro sighed again.

"Just thinking what kind of people can steal and sell other people. This is the second time we've intervened against the Neko Slave Trade...oh!"

Toshiro reached into his pocket, and handed Aendri a KS card.

"You lucked out, Aendri...We got some serious reward money today."

He reached to a speaker on the bridge, to give the good news.

"All hands, I have some great news. As some of you know, 20% of all rewards are dispersed evenly to the crew. Our haul today was massive to where each member of this ship has just earned 10,000 KS! Lyshana managed to get a hold of an item for which there was a reward and got a grand total of 18,000 KS.

I should also note that the following people have earned the following items:

Note that you are free to offer trades or purchases with others to get the items you want, as long as they agree. This was a lucky haul money wise for all of us. For those who didn't get what they wanted, a good part of this is luck of the draw.

However, those who get promoted to higher positions will get more items in the future! I know that there are a few promotions planned in the near future for the people who have been around a while, so don't give up!"

Ten thousand KS??? Agrael blinked at the message. She wasn't sure about the difference from Yamataian and Elysian currency, but she hoped that was a lot for her people, too. Pondering the possibilities of that rack with Mel... the Elysian giggled and shook the thoughts out of her mind. "What am I going to do with a holey piece of armor..." Her musings had become verbal now, but it was probably too low for anyone to hear.

Mel was glad to hear that the patient wasn't going to be arrested but would make it clear that he still needed a few days at least of bedrest before he was 100% again. She would ask Toshiro eventually about it, but blinked at the reward money and thought it out, trying to convert it to Elysian currency.

"A broken Hatch and a Shattered viewscreen?" she blinked at the messages and sighed. She'd rather have the severed tentacle and disgusting biomass to study and would send messages to their owners to ask them if she could at least study them for medical-biological scientific reasons. Sending them to Fleshmander and Eve along those lines.

The realization that she hurt the man was bothering Suzune... She had thought she could be helpful, that she could actually do something - if she had gotten into a PA with the others. And while she was... that help directly hurt someone, even if they were a pilot. Suzune didn't even stay with the SAoY officers, didn't bother to try to find out the truth about the man. She hurt him. She didn't want to have anything to do with him...

Spoils. She had something to focus on at least. Engineering, it's what she did best. She had so many ideas, but... she needed a way to use them. And sadly, this assortment of scrap was horrible at best. A... printer? Well, she could at least use some of the small motors, but really this was rather... horrid. And a sharp armor plat? Well, if she could melt it down maybe, but... Hm. A communique had to be sent.

<"Ah, what with the trades and all, I was wondering. Anyone have something with heavy electronics that they... don't want? I'd love to have a lot of components to work with, depending on my fabrica- ...Ah! Well. I'd still like components!">

I have a PRISM Volatile RAM if you are interested.

After sending this message, he nodded. "I understand what you mean. And thank you. I don't understand how someone could ever become so twisted, but it happens. All we can do is what we are doing, rescuing them where we can."

Dasanteki checked and cleaned the PA he was using before heading out of the bay towards the kitchen/lounge. Hearing his PDA beeping, he checked it and after he read Toshiro's message, Dasanteki continued walking towards the lounge on the Yggdrasill thinking to himself, hmmm I should be able to repair that CD armor in no time if nothing critical has been damaged or destroyed.

Dasanteki would find that most of the systems were in FRONT of the pilot in the Crooked Demon, and that the impaling was in the armor behind.

While there was light kinetic damage to the armor, and the hole where the guy took a Yamataium spike in the back, the systems were fully intact.

Toshiro nodded, hearing Aendri's reply.

"True...we can't control what they do wrong, outside of setting it right."

Seeing the message, Toshiro sent a reply as well...

I plan to upgrade the Yggdrasill with the parts I've saved up, but I may let you pick through some things here and there when we have the time.

Noelani was overjoyed to watch the results of the fight and see the display of all the cool technology. She really had to make a point to figure out how this "power armor" worked, being that it was a much different design direction than her specialization in drone AIs and systems construction -- rather than multiplying force via expendable servo units, one focused it inward and augmented their power many times over. It would sure help an Azorean out to have one of these tailored to their biological needs and remove some of the vulnerabilities they had in combat. Plus, flying around in on of them just seemed plain fun !

Of course there was more immediate matters for the space surfer to deal with. Toshiro had presented her with the first few toys to play with as promised, and a bunch of actual credits with which to conduct trade properly with. The communicator/camera ensemble was particularly interesting to the gilled girl. Finding a good spot to sit down she spent quite awhile fiddling with it, trying to understand the foreign interface language and elements. After a good hour or so of poking and button pushing, she finally figured out the device and managed to bring up what looked like a picture album from the owner of the freighter. Though some images were corrupted and unreadable, the few that were appeared to be images of catgirls. And not just any images of Nekos - they were in all sorts of compromising positions and unclothed to boot. Now, it didn't take the keen teenager long to figure out what she was looking at - this was obviously the deceased pilot's interstellar porn collection! Not really eager to explore this side of Yamataian cultural values, Noelani blanched and quickly did a hard reset of the memory storage banks via a little hidden switch. The risque bromides were no more.

As this was accomplished, she got a great idea in her fishy head. This could be the perfect way to document her travels throughout the universe to prove to those back home that the daring Azorean had done what she promised to do! This little device was going to be the focus of a huge video blog, one that could be posted to the whole planetary sonic net when she got back! Maybe it could be the key to make space travel go mainstream and break the government censorship at last in a big way. Excited about the prospects, Noelani proceeded to do a few test runs of the recording and thus her "Shootin' the Star Ocean" diary was born...

Of course this was all well and good, but there was also the matter of her plans to help out around the Yggdrasil. Now, the mini-fridge in the corner of her little living space was useful, but for her purposes of trying to get some scrap together and make Rills in this condition it wouldn't work too well. But some other crewmembers seemed to have been delt an interesting hand, and the possibilities of trading such a convenient working device seemed bright. And so, trying to get the hang of the communicator features of her new toy, she sent out a few test messages to the crew's similar handhelds.

All the replies bewildered Suzune, and blushing - despite nobody seeing her - she slowly began to call everyone back. First, about the RAM.

Ah! Well, I have a piece of armor and a... printer. Getting rid of the armor would be easier, I suppose. Though I could also buy it with cash instead.

Then, to Toshiro.

I'll trade for the armor if that's alright with you. I think I might be able to use that.

Aendri

Aendri replied, "True, unless a population submits to total government control, these types of activities will always be present. However, it could be much, much worse. I may not agree with some of their policies, but the Star Army was useful back there."

"Agreed...hmmm..."

Toshiro was holding a Type 28 NSP...which had no battery.

"...This battery connection looks simple enough...If I can fix this and that other one, I'll have three Type 28 NSPs...military-grade handguns."

At Suzune's comment, he had a reply.

He began searching the ads for a port where he could do upgrades and refits...

Mel would eventually finish up what she was doing and left the medbay, stretching her arms over her head. "mmmmmm" she purred, stretching until her armed poppped in the shoulder relieving some tension there. "I wonder where we're going next?" she asked herself and beganto make her way to meet with Toshiro on the bridge. "Ygg?" she addressed the computer. "Am I permitted onto the bridge to speak with the commodore?"

Yggdrasill gave a prompt reply.

"There are no rules against a crew member entering the bridge, unlike on Military Vessels. It is an open part of the ship to all crew."

Mel nodded and stepped up to the door to let it swish open and smoothed her hands down her peplos and smiled. It was soft and almost translucent in appearance as she walked, the fabric hugging her curves and stretched a bit over her breasts. "Commodore?" she asked softly and looked over. "I was curious about where we're off to next?"
