The Chief, despite being rather close to the action, had simply backed up a bit once Anselm came charging at Chad, and a wave of "unsurprise" washed over his face upon seeing the Aggressor getting itself stuck by Chad's lance.
"This is why we fucking bide our time and strike at the right fucking moment, people!" The Chief turned around to look at everyone in the bay, pointing up at Chad and Anselm. "We're not Yamatai. We don't move as fast as them. We take and hold ground in a conservative manner! We go into combat with our brains intact and our armor in cover, and only until we establish our dominance do we charge in!"
The Chief turned to Anselm. "Throwing a knife at someone and charging them in a heavy suit does not constitute battlefield dominance! That means you just gave your enemy your weapon and are now charging at him! You put yourself in a position where you are forced to act and think too quickly, while he was in a position to stay focused!"
The Chief whirled around and stuck his Vibroblade into the floor, so that it was pointing up at roughly a 45 degree angle. "You." He pointed to Chad, then pointed at the knife. "I want you to stand here in a proper stance." The Chief demonstrated by placing his left leg forward, slightly bent, and his right leg in back, his heel hovering just above the blade's edge. "Just how I'm doing it. With your heel barely touching the blade. And you."
The Chief pointed to Morris, motioning for a tech to wheel a second Vibrosaw over. Once it arrived, he stuck it in the ground in the same manner, close enough to the first blade. "You two are gonna stand here facing each other, and you are going to fight with your fists. Advance, you lose. Retreat and touch the knife, you lose. No fucking PPG blasts! GET TO IT! I want to see everyone in here do the same fucking thing for one round! Go get an extra knife if you don't have one already!"
Turning around to step backwards to supervise, the Chief caught the sight of a very familiar Marine standing in the doorway, as well as her comments. "Endurain." The Chief said plainly, almost in an acknowledging manner. "You need to go lookin' for the Master Chief. Or are you here to watch this shit go down and make jokes?"
