"To be fair, sir." The Chief threw the cigarette on the ground and ground it out with the heel of his boot, feeling somewhat miffed at that line.

He felt a little pang of anger when Suku brought the subject up, and it built up for a while when he was left to stew about what happened. "I shot that bitch how many times, and even a few punches", the Chief shrugged his right shoulder, moving his cybernetic arm, "that would have landed guys in comas didn't take her down."

Shaking his head as if trying to shake off his slight anger at him being taken down, the Chief pulled out another cigarette and lit it, gradually letting the smoke leak from his nostrils and dissipate.

"That said, I've got nothing else to report. How is the Green on Green fire going to be handled?" He referred to Sam, whose red rounds at the time got even his attention while he was too busy blinded with pain.

The Chief looked over to where he thought the body previously laid, noting an absence of it. "I'm guessing some shady little cock blocker came in and took it away." He said, without looking back to the Master Chief.

"As a matter of fact," Henry replied, temporarily dumbfounded by the sudden implications of freedom, "You're absolutely right."
He paused for a moment, thinking of what to do.

"Surely, there's something we can occupy ourselves with," He rubbed his chinfluff in concentration, then made a quick addendum, "Pornography and drinking to forget about the previous mission aside, of course."

He then glanced to Talbain's Styrling .45 sidearm, then to the Heavy Automatic Sidearm. He then made some more quick glances.
"Well, it seems like I've gotten an idea," Henry said as he pointed to Talbain's HAS weapon, then lifted up his own dinky Styrling .45 Pistol, "What if I could get even a fraction of the power from the HAS onto this, and not break a cybernetic wrist in the process?"

Henry then proceeded to take notes. This seemed like a good avenue to start working on some sort of underbarrel subweapon that could be attached. It sounded clunky, but it could work.

Talbain was a bit unimpressed with the amount of things there were to do on the Acadia at the moment. "I'm not sure there's much of interest on the ship. We'd probably have to hop a shuttle to Golding to really get into anything."
Henry's second question though definitely caught his interest though. It was practically his hobby to think up things like that but he lacked the expertise to actually do anything with those ideas. "But as far as getting HAS power out of a your .45 that would be tricky. A cybernetic wrist gives you some room to play but you'd have to get creative with handling recoil. A heavier weapon to soak it up some, front heavy to prevent muzzle climb, or maybe some sort of extra recoil absorber. Piston or high friction rollers or something. You just trying to get the caliber or the rate of fire too? Cause that's a whole new set of problems."

Alex was a little surprised that Sam was actualy Samantha and not Samuel. But girl probably had a reason to hide that. Alex didn't pranced through things in Sam locker, why would she anyway? But she took bloody uniform and folded it while the other woman showered. But she actualy took woman revovolver and checked the cylinder if it had some more red rounds in it before putting it back. They will have a little chat about those later. Well Alex had rocket pistol which wasn't much better but she at least can't put less dangerous ammunition in it.

She standed outside ready to hand Sam a towel, when she'll get outside. "So where are you from Oliver? May I call you Sam?"

"Funerals, maybe." Harrison shrugged, indifferent.

"Funerals..." thought Phaedra. An image flashed in her mind:

Lying in a bed crippled

Terrible pain

Friends stand around with berets in hands

They tell of the funeral I was unable to attend...

Phaedra quickly willed the memory away, but her metal left hand unconsciously clenched into a fist.

Once the two of them arrived at the mess hall, Harrison handed off a ration pack to Phaedra. He tore his own pack open and rapidly drained the small bottle he found inside. Phaedra found a seat nearby and opened up the ration pack. She found a small bottle identical to Harrison's and she cautiously opened the cap. She sampled the aroma coming from the amber-hued liquid inside and took a small sip. As she swallowed the liquid she decided the taste was not necessarily terrible, just unusual. It had a smoky, wooden taste; but Phaedra was not able to find the proper terms to describe it. After she swallowed, she coughed slightly from a tingling sensation in her esophagus.

"So this is whiskey?" she asked Harrison, taking another sip from the bottle.

"I shot that bitch how many times, and even a few punches", the Chief shrugged his right shoulder, moving his cybernetic arm, "that would have landed guys in comas didn't take her down."

Fian shrugged, just when he thought he had Avel figured out. He wasn't in a position to say anything about the Chief's CQC, that man was the best thing out of a Power Armor.

"That said, I've got nothing else to report. How is the Green on Green fire going to be handled?"

"If I reported this to High Command first, they would have sent the IPG in anyway considering the status of our unit." Fian shrugged again. "I just made the whole process a lot quicker."

The Master Chief looked at the two men that were with him, the three of them were the highest ranking marines on the ship. "Eh, how about we bring the guys planetside? We missed shore leave the last time around." He chirped.

Suku took a short look at Sean's leg to observe the condition of it. It didn't appear life-threatening, just taking its time to heal up. The Medical Officer looked up at Sean with a pained expression, as if something was truly wrong.

"Sean... I'm sorry, but it turns out you're just..." Suku slapped him on the wounded area, not hard enough to draw any blood though, "a pussy. You're fine, it's just healing, and you're walking too much. Now, put your pants on and get the fuck out." Suku pointed to the door as she went over to the computer to file one of her hated medical reports.

"Not necessarily good whiskey," Harrison said, looking at the little bottle that was now on the table in front of him. He scowled a bit as the familiar burn began in his throat. The burn built a little, built a little more, and then just abruptly cut off. It was a little stinging sensation in the back of his throat, a pathetic echo of what the drink could have been if it was worth anything. As it were, though, it was alcohol, so Harrison could put up with it.

He took another two of the ration packs with whiskey bottles in them and put them on the table, taking the bottle from his and cracking the little cap on it before he began drinking it.

"Hey, calm the fuck down," Sean said, as he pulled his pants back on, quickly followed by his boot. "I wanted to check it out because it was still a bit sore, and I didn't want to spend more time then I had to in here." He stood back up. "Woulda figured you would appreciate us trying to avoid extended stays in your medbay."

"Eh, how about we bring the guys planetside? We missed shore leave the last time around."

The Chief cocked his head to the side and clicked his tongue, crossing his arms and shifting from side to side, as if in deep thought. "If I still thought the way I did a few years ago, I'd say we channel all their anger and confusion and guide that hate machine to kill more fuckin' squids."

The Chief then took a rather long drag of his cigarette, letting the smoke escape from his mouth at it's leisure while he spoke, "But then, we don't know when our number is up. Especially with the fuckin' squids at the doorstep." He hated to sound grave, but a bit of sobering up before debauchery never harmed anyone.

"Might as well enjoy any time we have."

Suku looked up from her computer station at Sean with a plain, uninterested face. It was generally the face she wore when having to fill out forms like the one she was filling out now.

"Shoo' squid, don't bother me." She said, quoting some lyrics from an old song, and made a shooing motion with her hands.

"I'd say this guy has the right idea," Rico added at the end with a smirk. The Nepleslian was happy to hear the proposal; it meant that he now had a chance to charter a one-way ticket to his family in Nepleslia for that little bundle of stress camping out at Matsobuki's medical bay. "Fortuna's gettin' pretty famous for all their high-class casinos an' shit. I'd say now is as good a time as any to get in our R&R before we're assigned out again."

Anselm ripped out a laugh at Sean's expense, having moved into the medbay to avoid blocking the door. "Ahahaha, what'd I tell ya?!"

Slapping a hand over his mouth to contain the noise somewhat, the runt of an ID-SOL dropped a form, already filled out except for several signatures, on Suku's desk "-hehe, hm-hm, thought I'd save you some time, review it and everything when you have time," he wiggled his four metal digits playfully "this piece is working alright even if it does look better on a cat".

As if to break up the somewhat somber atmosphere surrounding the three, a seven year old came screaming down the hall running past Ran, Fian and Rico with a look of absolute terror on her face.

"Miss Suku tried to eeeeeaaaattttt meeeeee!!!!" she yelled running full on, sparring no expense in fear fueled energy as she came from the direction of the medical bay. She got around the corner and tripped, the sound of a little 'flop' as her body hit the deck and the low groan of it evident. Her little cheeks were beet red, her hair matted, and she puffed hard while laying on the cold, deliciously cold deck plate simply too tired to even try and get up for now.

Fuck, I don't have time for his shit. was Suku's thought when Anselm started walking into the Med-Bay. Her hand had already dived into a drawer of sharp objects. All of the surgical instruments in the case were arranged neatly in a fine line, and the only time that was taken was what was needed to decide the proper one. For a moment, her decision was limited between a liston knife, a bone saw, and her trusty scalpel. She chose the liston knife, and then pulled it on him as soon as he dropped the forms. Another visible shade of red anger coming over her face.

"Anselm, you have five seconds to evacuate the medical bay before I chop your nuts off and feed them to you." snarled the Medical Officer as she pointed the knife at his crotch. "You've been warned."

Anselm smiled calmly, picking up the form and backing away with his hands up "like I said, when you have the time..." he looked over at Sean "good luck, boy" and vacated the medbay before anyone had a chance to blink.

Sam showered quickly, simply scrubbing the blood, guts, and vomit off herself. She stood safely in the corner of the shower, away from the door so Alex couldn't see; even if she did watch her walking in, all she would see was a muscular person wearing some kind of bandage around their chest. Sam was careful to take her clothes off only when she was safely out of sight.

She dressed again in her dry boxers and chest-binding bandage, having safely stashed them in the corner while she washed. She grabbed the towel and dried herself briefly before redressing. "If y'want," she told the woman. "I'm from Funky City. You?"

"Okay, call me Alex." she replied and continued. "Funky city eh? Must have been interesting. I am from cloning tube 23." She said and laughed a little. "Anyway let's go to mess-hall and steal few drinks from rations. There is a little whiskey bottle inside." With that she awaited Sams drying and dressing.

Rico nearly leaped out of his skin as he noticed the little girl barreling towards Ran, Fian and himself. As Carina approached, Rico did his best to put his worries behind a guise of delightful surprise. "Heeyyy... you," Rico said with a forced smile. "You two met my lil' cousin?"

"Ah, fuckin' Pasco." The tech sentry twisted his arm around and felt the nerves sting him a bit. That was good... considering he wasn't even able to move the limb before.

"Arm's feelin' pretty good now. I guess I'll make meself scarce, Doc'." Gyles waved off Suku, grabbing her bloodied pullover from the floor and heading off for the door. His datapad was still on the examination bed, but he didn't particularly feel like being hunted down for the files later and just wanted to get the fuck out of dodge as quickly as possible. That the nurse was willing to peel his face off for a second or two and was only able to relent because he had a use was bad enough.

Fuckin' hell...

Sure, he'd said some stupid things... but it didn't particularly excuse the non-esoteric threat to his life. He'd almost been killed by the first woman he'd spoken to on the Acadia probably gotten the accurate cross section considering it was a freaking nurse. He'd almost wished he'd kept the posting and stayed on the station.

Where the women are few, fine and won't stab me because I mentioned a lousy boyfriend. He thought to himself, scratching his chin. Still, some things didn't fit. What was up with the way she'd reacted to Rico's name? He guessed they'd either stayed together and he'd been implying the wrong thing, or they'd broken up and it was a sore nerve. 'Course, odds are, they're actually just in limbo and it was still a sore nerve.

As he arrived in his bunk, he filled a bucket with water, pushing his bloodied pullover into it and fishing out a clean set from the drawer set beneath his bed. Clean clothes felt pretty good, although he was kind of sweaty and in pain from the slip up and subsequent ordeal earlier. But then it struck him.

"Holy shit. I'm fuckin' high."
