Delmira pulled the quick release on her armor and let it fall to the ground around her. "I can't in good judgement arrest the man who i consider my father, plus the thought of having to fight him again terrifies me. He is one of few things that can make me feel fear and cry the way he did." She held out her hands ready for the handcuffs.

Kiyo blinked as she heard the captain's orders. She noted that he was different, and she appeared to have been ignored, but then Nanook was huge and more capable than she was certainly. But even so if Lemochi was as capable, she did want to be of help if need be. As Delmira refused to follow along, she started to wonder about this guy just how bad was he? The Mindy armored blue skinned Neko glanced to her reattached Aether katana and made sure it was secure.

Cheilith frowned at Aoba's orders. She didn't know of anything that Iemochi had done wrong. It felt weird to arrest a sitting senator who was also an officer. However, she quickly ran the codes through the authorization matrix. They had been signed with the private keys of Yui and the Empress. She nodded, gripping the Greatsword of the Ice Queen Mountains that she wore. "Yes, sir."

Cassie looked at Delmira with concern, sensing there was more to the picture and she didn't have the full picture. "Whoa whoa whoa, Del," she asked, "Just walk to your cabin, I don't actually have handcuffs," Cassie told Delmira. "So...uh...what do you mean? What happened between you and him that makes you so afraid? If there's some sort of special circumstances we should let the captain know, I think. And we should talk to Counselor Thia. She'll know what do because she's trained to help people with fear and trauma."

Cassie sent Thia a text to come talk to Delmira right away.

Nanook sensed the tension in the power armor bay. There was far more at play here than he was comfortable with. The muscles in his neck and back tightened as he watched the interaction with Delmira.

He glanced at Cassie, “I’ll go to the science bay. We don’t know each other. It may be better that way.”

"Okay, Nanook, you go with Cheilith and Kiyo," Cassie said, before heading with Delmira back towards Delmira's cabin on the deck above. Poppy joined them. "Everything okay?"

Norita appeared and began bringing Delmira's suit back to its rack in the armor bay.

Meanwhile Pidole set up Iemochi and Delmira's cabins to become impromptu holding cells by reprogramming the locks.

Delmira opened her mouth and promptly shut it looking at Cassie. If she didn't say anything it would just hurt her in the long run especially if she wanted to stay in the Star Army. She bit her lip as she thought her canines puncturing the skin and drawing blood. "Remember when i got blasted into space and my space suit melted to me? Mochi didn't read my file that was updated to have that was diagnosed with PTSD at the time. We spared and he was a monster in combat and it terrified me to no end to see him like that. He overpowered me so easily." She started walking to her cabin. "I also have a conflict of interest in this matter since the man is like my father and it would affect my judgement, not sure why the captain is having me arrested for that but whatever." When she got to her room the first thing Delmira did was head over to the desk and pick up the at this point mostly decorative officers katana she had salvaged last year before handing it to Cassie she pulled on it showing the blade was removed before she sheathed it back into its scabbard and handed it to Cassie regardless.

Cheilith nodded, leading the impromptu squad towards the science lab. "We don't know what he knows about the orders or how he'll react. It must be pretty serious to get this level of authorization. Nanook, you play backstop if he runs. Kiyo has the most rank, so she'll handle actually giving him the news. I'll flank around behind him and preform any actual physical handling we need. I think he'll come quietly, this all has to be a mistake, so no need to make this any more public or humiliating than it needs to be. Does that make sense?" She asked as they arrived outside the doors to the science lab where Iemochi was.

Nanook nodded to Cassie and followed Cheilith from the bay. The ship was not huge by any means, especially to a Kodiak, it did not take long to enter the Science bay where he would find the Science Officer. He nodded his understated to Cheilith. There was no reason for any of this to turn violent at any point.

Deck 4 - Cabins

"It's orders," Cassie explained. "Following them isn't optional. We don't get to choose whether we want to based on how comfortable we are with them, unless they're illegal and, in that case, you'd better be really sure about it." she reminded Delmira, accepting the katana. "Also, what does sparring have to do with getting burned?"

"Even if it meant that if things got out of hand to the point he could kill you because i froze and couldn't pull the trigger on someone i care for?" She walked over to a closet and pulled it open rummaging through it. "It was traumatizing Cassie something i am sure you would be familiar with given certain events. If he fights them and is serious im not sure they could take him." She closed the closet not finding what she was looking for and went into the neko pit. "Well i will be here if you need me." She said and flopped in.

Goodness I just got on and already I am a part of a group taking a senator of all people into custodyI wonder if my clone will have a better time over there than I would Kiyo thought as she followed Chelith, and Nanook to the science area of the ship.

Thad had been doing Thad things when he got word about the fate of his friend. Of all people to be charged, why now and why the birb father. Clearly this came from the higher ups and might have been a way to silence him. Thad had read some of the proposals Mochi pushed forward and some of them seemed to conflict with the norms. Thad also had no doubt that many of the crew would have issues following this order. Too many of them had a moral code which was above just following orders blindly. This was going to get exciting in a hurry.

Thad was out walking around when he seen and overheard Del speaking with Cassie. He picked up pretty quickly that Del seemed to be in a bit of trouble. Thad walked up to the pair. "Seems the fates have turned Del. So what trouble have you gotten into this time?" He said with a big smile on his face. He then looked to Cassie. "I got this, no worries."

Mochi was in the science bay as he usually seemed to be, working on the various projects and ideas that SARA's collaborative network generated. Today he was hammering away at a console, trying to glean insight from a chunk of killer robot that he had collected from their last mission. The specimen was difficult to research given it had been created to interface and react with an entire planet of circuits. Every now and again, the father of five would step back from his standing workbench and pace around the room, thinking of new angles that he might have missed.

At some point Euikoshi had exited the room, leaving him alone, but their work environment was relaxed and he'd stopped keeping track of such things long ago. What was very odd, however, was the sight of flashing gunmetal as his lab doors slid open.

Mochi stopped his pacing, frozen in a position of rubbing his chin with one hand. Mindies? The science lab was so detached from the rest of the ship on the Fuji-class that they must have gone out of their way to come up here. What was going on? There'd been no call to general quarters or elevation of any readiness condition - he'd surely know as a department head.

There were at least three of them, which meant that there was either a silent mutiny happening, or something about as concerning was afoot. The blonde Elysian's face hardened as he considered what to do. Behind him was his secure armored closet, a necessity after being so far from the power armour bay in the case of boarding, a lesson he'd learned from experience. He surely didn't have time to open it, which only left his sidearm and his body.

Mochi couldn't guess at the identities of whoever was piloting the Mindies given their faces were obscured, or unfamiliar new recruits. Slowly, the Shosa brought the hand down that cupped his chin, to his side. If this was a mutiny, he should be hearing gunshots from the corridor any minute now as Aoba and the other officers were put down. As a moment or two ticked by, that became less likely.

"I'm guessing this is an assassination, but if it isn't, explain quickly." The Elysian spoke quickly and deliberately, his emerald eyes meeting each of the soldiers' in turn. Mochi had more training and experience than many, but he would have to be quick with the revolver at his side if they had been sent by the Bellflower Party, SAINT or whoever else had a chip on their shoulder in regards to his family. The face of Arbles and his kids popped into his mind. If they'd erased the STs, he might never go home to his family, if they were even safe right now. This was serious.

Already, the ex-SOFT Elysian was readying himself to quick draw if they seemed to be going to open fire without explanation. Hopefully, it wouldn't come to that, but the newcomers would need to elaborate quickly, as so far he'd heard of no orders or plans to justify this hostile incursion.

"Because i have a conflict of interest with the orders given. If something goes down i cant count on myself to pull the trigger if needed." She said and poked her head out of the neko pit. "Thinking on it i probably should have gone unarmed so i can act as a negotiator and explain what's up because i am familiar with him."

Thad just reached up and ran his hand over his face. Why did it always seem to come down to killing on this ship. A bad order is given and everyone starts pointing weapons at everyone else. This seemed like a bad dream all over again. "Del, you wont be asked to strike down your comrade. We are trained solders, not assassins'. That work is to be left up to the MPs if things go sideways." Thad then reached out and gave Del a pat on the head. "Good to see you again by the way. I have missed having my little neko friend by my side." He said with a smile. "You stay here and I shall go check on our friend. I am sure they will need the backup given that Mochi can pretty much take everyone on this ship." He retracted his hand and gave a moment in case Del had more to say.

Deck 4 Crew Cabins

"All I know is that she told the Old Man no, so now she's in the slammer for refusal to follow orders," Cassie explained to Thad. "Sounds like there could be a court martial. Aoba sounded pretty serious about it. Although he's always serious."

YSS Resurgence

"This is your captain speaking," Aoba's voice came over the intercom. "I am delaying our trip to the Bard Cluster. Instead, we are taking a detour to the Gashmere system to provide humanitarian assistance in response to a terrorist attack and to assess the situation on the ground there."

The ship abruptly jumped back into hyperspace, heading to the reclusive homeworld of the Kodians.

Koyama chewed the inside of her cheek as she listened from the bridge. With her arms folded just below her chest—an order from Her Majesty and Yui to arrest the Senator and CSO of her ship. Now seemingly to include another of its crew. From spending time with the man, purely academic and collaborative of course Koyama had noticed he was a detailed individual who left little to chance if he could. There was so much more to it than such a simplistic explanation. It made her wonder how many on the ship knew just how dangerous of a person he could be.

The engineer knew of the locker in the science lab from their little chat months earlier. Its contents. The lab was his domain.

"They're green, Taisa," she said finally. "And he isn't. With or without armor." Adding to her lackluster view of those sent to detain the officer. She was sparing a look to Aoba while at his side. Soon she found herself trying to chew at a thumbnail that was not there. If Mochi turned hostile there were too many variables.

On way to science lab

Sanda shook her head at Del's warning. Of course she knew he was skilled. But that wasn't going to stop Sanda from doing her duty. The ranger was on the verge of saying: That doesn't sound too hard; when the Captain send another order. This time to detain Del. Sanda cursed in surprise and annoyance. What the hell was wrong with her? She was supposed to be a Giretsu! She was shaming the cherry blossom that Sanda wore so proudly. It sickened her. Sanda wasn't sure what was going on but she was sure that it would be a long time before she trusted Del again.

As they approached the science lab, Cheilith gave a game plan which Sanda disagreed with. "Kiyo might be the senior, but I think it might be better coming from someone he knows. I do agree that he most likely won't resist. He's too professional for that." The ranger glanced up at the big Kodiak, glad that at least he seemed able to follow orders.

As Sanda and the others entered the science lab caught sight of Iemochi. She had nothing but respect for the science officer. He had been one of the first to encourage her to act as an NCO. She kept her hands at her sides, but was ready to reach for a weapon if it came to that. "Sir, I regret to inform you that by order from Taisa Aoba, Taisho Yui and the Empress herself, you are to be detained and taken into custody and confined, pending an investigation." Sanda kept her voice calm and level but her body was wound tight, ready to spring into action. "We are here to escort you to your quarters." Sanda was a profession soldier, but this gave her no pleasure at all.

YSS Resurgence

Nanook was waiting in the passage outside of the Wardroom. "We should join the away team, little one?"

“Yes!” Chiasa answered snappily and with no shortage of eagerness in her tone. “But, I have some things to take care of in the medical center, first.” She added. “Remember about coming in to get your paw checked before we leave!” The tiny pharmacist added. With that, Chiasa offered her battle buddy a wave and turned to float down the passageway, towards the medical center.

Medical Center
Some Time Later

Chiasa's furred ears twitched as she worked to take drug inventory. Her eyes went wide with surprise when her digital mind processed the cause within a few cycles—power armor. The Mindy wasn’t loud by any means, but it did have a unique auditory signature that the sensitive hearing of a Nekovalkyrja could register from some distance away, especially within the confines of a ship. She initially thought that it might have been members of the away team suiting up, but since the Resurgence had just arrived in the Darso system and was now rerouting towards Gashmere, it seemed too early for that. Not to mention, she hadn’t received any orders that they were launching, neither had Vec or Poppy.

“Do you hear that, sir?” Chiasa glanced back from the drug cabinets and turned towards Vec. “People are suiting up Mindies and there wasn’t a call for the away team to launch.” She added. “Do you know what this is about? Should we lock down?”
