Thad just looked at Cassie with a grin. "You say that like it means anything. Have you kept count of how many times I have lost my ranks? Which funny enough I was just given a promotion so more than likely going to be losing that again." He couldn't help but laugh knowing how true this had become. "I tease, I have no intention of causing any trouble. More so since Mochi is the danger on this ship." He said as he gave a wink towards Cassie.

Kiyo nodded her head in agreement with Sanda’s words “as much as my rank gives me seniority, I have to agree with Sanda, plus I am way too new to the ship.” She commented before hearing the captain's newest announcement. Kiyo just didn’t want to rock the boat more than she already had. She was still concerned over the fact that Lemochi was a senator if whatever was going on was a miss understanding, or false her career might be in peril as revenge.

Cheilith maneuvered behind Mochi with her large sword in her hand. She was doing her best to cut him off and provide a second line of attack. She had graduated Giretsu training with Sanda, so the two of them should give the special forces operator at the very least a run for his money if he tried anything. She left her greatsword in it's sheath, but was ready to draw it or the NSP with reflexes she had honed. She didn't think he was going to make it necessary, afterall, this had to be a mistake of some sort. She liked Mochi as an officer. However, orders were orders.

Nanook stood in the passage way. His plan was simple. If things went sideways, he was going to indiscrimately stun anything that moved in the science lab while they were scuffling.

Delmira rumbled with a purr as she was given head pats. "Well your neko friend might not be around long if i get a court martial." She said her ears giveing a flick when Thad took his hand away.

Mochi heard the Captain's calm voice over the intercom, provoking him to raise an eyebrow. Depending what this was about, it stood out to him that Aoba hadn't visited in person if it was something serious. Even if this was some kind of sanctioned assassination, you'd hope there'd be some professional courtesy to look him in the eyes while it happened.

Scattered across the various workbenches were all kinds of implements that he could use to various destructive ends, in the same way that you wouldn't confront a chief engineer inside their workshop usually. If he was planning to confront someone, he'd wait until they were in bed. It betrayed the fact this was likely something unplanned, something that had an urgency enough to throw the odds more towards his favour in exchange for expediency.

The flame-winged Elysian recognised Sandra's voice. She was in his eyes one of the most promising crewmembers, and Mochi liked to think there was some professional respect there. She wasn't the kind of person to do something drastic half-cocked, so immediately the green-panelled man felt more at ease.

The news was a surprise to the blonde scientist, whose brow furrowed in concern. "The Empress?" He echoed with an air of disbelief. An order from Yui, the professional head of the army, would make sense. While much higher than standard arrest warrants, it was still in a chain of command. An order from the Empress, a politically aligned person, was a cause for greater unease in Seinosuke. That wasn't business as usual for matters of military discipline.

Usually, an internal Star Army order had safeguards, specificity and formality. An imperial decree, however, had no basis for safeguards and jumped above all conventional law and rights. It was unusual for this kind of latitude to be given to military police, as far as he was aware. That kind of explained the Mindies, which were usually not permitted inside the ship under any circumstance beside hostile boarding.

The scientist considered the repercussions of this news, although his emerald eyes watched one of the Mindies move to go behind him. Mochi subconsciously assessed that having less of them in front of him in a firefight was probably better, his wings and tendrils had a shorter distance to strike things to his rear.

Mochi pondered what to do as the power armour came over, and had decided by the time she had stopped. He allowed his lungs to deflate, letting a rush of pent up air escape his lips slowly. This boded very ill, but the officer wasn't realistically considering fighting his way out of this one. He might even be able to, but killing his friends was never within Mochi's moral code, despite the circumstance.

"Very well." The blonde spoke with an uneasy tone, spreading his hands slowly out to the sides so that they could come and take his holstered revolver. "I am arrested, I am not resisting." Mochi confirmed, adding, "I can't say I know why this is happening. May I see the warrant so I understand the charges?"

Science Lab

Sanda visibly breathed a sigh of relief and the lighting bolt tattoo seemed to dim a little. She knew that if Iemochi resisted it would be a tough fight but she wouldn't hesitate. It was her job. Even though Sanda held the Science officer in high respect she wouldn't allow her personal feelings to interfere with her duty.

When Iemochi asked to see the warrant, Sanda glanced at Cheilith and Kiyo. "I'm sorry Sir. I was ordered to detain you. I didn't ask any questions pertaining to why. I'm sure the Captain will answer your questions later." The ranger didn't really like this. Iemochi was an upstanding officer and a senator. This all had to be a big misunderstanding. Or maybe it was a test to see if the crew would preform when given a strange order. Well, Del certainly failed if that was the case.

Sanda stepped closer to Iemochi and said, "Please surrender your side arm, and any other weapons you might have on your persons." She paused as she noticed a picture of his family on a nearby desk. "If you would like to grab any personal items, you may do so... After we examine them for potential weapons." She hoped that might take some of the sting out of this situation.

Thad had made his way to the Science Lab to ensure he was seen. Since he was technically infantry he figured he best join the party else the captain might get upset. Thad walked up to the team who were in the process of clearing Mochi of weapons. "I see I am just in time for the party. Last time we had to lock someone else up, things did not go as planned. I am glad to see we have improved. Or the team just vastly underestimates just how much damage this one man can do." Thad pushed his way through so he could see his friend. He had overheard the question Mochi asked concerning what he was being charged with. "Well, if I had to guess given that the Empress is involved I'd about bet this could be politically motivated or at least some big picture stuff is going on. Fun how Star Army tells the public they are politically neutral yet always seem to be anything but. By the way, once this blows over maybe we can go have a drink or something." Thad then stood next to his friend. "You are in safe hands, I will make sure that things do not, blow, out of proportion." He said with a chuckle knowing everyone here knew just how far Thad had taken things before with regards to explosives.

Mochi appreciated Sanda's trust of allowing him to disarm himself, rather than unholstering the sidearm herself, even though he'd made that an option. He nodded glumly at her elaboration that they had no warrant, "A shame, but I suppose you can't delay when it's an imperial decree." The green-panelled man calmly reached down and slid the weapon free of its housing by his side, pinching it between two fingers to show he had no intention to go for the trigger. Gently, Mochi laid it harmlessly upon the workbench that his still-open console was sat upon.

Once he was done, the Elysian gave them a slow 360 spin, to show that there wasn't any other weapons on him. It wasn't exactly the case he wandered around his workspace stacked with ordinance, he didn't need to. When Sanda permitted the scientist to take a token with him, Mochi gave her an appreciative smile. "Only the best NCOs consider the morale of those under their watch, thank you." She never failed to impress. Mochi had advocated for appointing her as a SEA at least once for this kind of thing, something that was seemingly always one stamp away from approval. His emerald eyes regarded the others with seemingly no resentment, although when he looked at those he'd never met before, there was some level of disappointment that this had been their first introduction.

Thad joined them late, as energised as ever. While the other man spoke, the blonde officer reached over and took the desk picture, a simple wooden framed photograph of himself and a slightly weary pink-winged Elysian. Between them they held three newborn children swaddled in cloth, with a young boy and girl on either side of the picture showing beaming smiles. The backdrop was somewhere outdoors, with lots of green and fresh air. Mochi admired it with a long, saddened look for a moment.

Turning back to the others, Mochi shook his head incredulously at Thad, an amused smirk on his face. "I can't comment on any of that, I'd get in trouble just for mentioning anything political-" The Elysian reminded him, such were the fairly reasonable restrictions for serving Star Army members who were also in political office. You can't mix the two, yet crewmembers with news feeds would often bring up such things. "I appreciate your reassurance." Mochi replied diplomatically to Thad's mention of being safe in his hands, trying to stop his smirk from growing. By the look that Sanda was no doubt giving to Thad, Mochi didn't want to say anything more than that.

While kind of glad that Thad's comic relief had distracted him from the reality of the situation for a second, Mochi held the family picture tight against his chest and nodded for Sanda to lead on. While they were walking, he would ask in a muted tone, "I'd like to wear my formal uniform if possible. Being presentable has never hurt when the Empress is involved." Mochi patted the labcoat that he was still wearing from the lab to indicate it, and how his general appearance wasn't particularly imperial-grade right now. The protection of a labcoat was entirely superfluous in most things, especially using a console, but wearing one was a years-old habit that wasn't going away any time soon.

Science Lab

Sanda gently took the side arm Mochi handed to her. Out of habit she disengaged the power pack and did a quick visual inspection of it before setting the safety on it and tucking the empty weapon in her belt. When Mochi complemented her, Sanda had to fight to keep professional and not smile. "I try my best Sir."

It was at this moment when Sanda's professionalism was put to the test. Thad walked in and started running his mouth. Sanda didn't say anything, but she looked like she was on the verge of drawling her weapon and shooting Thad right where he stood. Her hand was actually resting on the butt of her pistol. For a moment she actually toyed with the idea of just throwing away her whole carrier and just shoot him. Oh where was Yayoi to hold her back?

But luckily for Thad, Sanda had a much better self control. She took a deep breath and let it out slowly through her nose before saying. "Maximus-Hei. Shut. Up." She stared at him a moment before turning her attention back to Mochi. At a nod to Cheilith and Kiyo, Sanda took the lead out of the science lab. She paused just a moment to nod to Nanook, conveying to the big Kodian everything was in hand and that he could bring up the rear. She considered the Kodian a moment. The big guy had stepped up to the task without any word of complaint or question. Maybe they had finally been sent a competent infantry man. She looked forward to finding out when this mess was over.

On the way to his quarters, Mochi inquired about his uniform. Sanda could sympathize. "I will personally see to it that your uniform is brought to you Sir." They soon saw Pidole who had been tasked with setting up the quarters for Mochi. "Is everything set up?" Sanda asked the red head technician.

Nanook walked behind the group of four as they escorted Mochi back to his quarters. The trip was relatively short and uneventful. As the hatch to the mans quarters shut, Nanook turned and made his way towards the Medical Bay. He was sure if he didn't his new partner battle buddy would endeavor to get her way even more ardently in the future. He let out a defeated sigh as the medical bay hatch opened and he entered to find the various medical staff at work. He saw Chiasas' small form on one side of the room, Vec working at a console, and Poppy seemed to be doing inventory on a med kit of some kind. He attempted to stealthily avoid Poppy's attention as he padded softly to Chiasa. However, he was still adjusting to operating in environs designed for much smaller creatures, this was driven home by the metal tray and the dozen instruments it held being knocked to the ground by his wayward hip, causing quite the ruckus as they impacted the decking.

"Yes, Sanda," Pidole replied. "The cabin is ready."

She looked down at her beetle.

Bidole looked at her.

Pidole stared blankly at Bidole.

Bidole stared cutely back at Pidole.

Pidole smiled. "Okay," she told it, and it loudly flapped its wings, bouncing into the air and landing on her head. The two went back to engineering.

Koyama let the breath she'd been holding in release as the Elysian (Not Elysian?) agreed. Muscles that had previously been tensed relaxed if only a little to then realize a hand was resting atop the pommel of her sword. She'd taken to wearing it whenever possible. It had become a comfort of sorts. A casual reminder of things past and present.

Aoba's first officer leaned down just enough to catch the man's ear. "Sir?" hoping that was enough to snag his attention. Her gaze shifted from him and toward the bridge exit. "Did either the Mistress of Ships or Her Majesty say why he was to be investigated?"

Medical Center

As the instruments and the tray clattered to the floor, all attention turned to the large Ursoid. "Oops." He intoned with his gravelly voice. He clumsily dropped to his knees and frantically struggled to pick up the instruments strewn about the floor, made to be manipulated by much smaller hands.

Chiasa's eyebrows flashed as she registered Nanook's presence inside the Medical Center. The beginnings of a smile formed across her pinkish-tank features, only for her jaw to go slack when her digital mind processed that there was no conceivable way he could fit through the gap he was attempting to traverse! Features tensing in anticipation, Chiasa gritted her teeth as the medical instruments, tools, and trays clattered to the ground, a frown manifesting across her visage as they came to a rest.

"No, no, no, don't worry! I'll clean it up!" Chiasa called out as she attempted to gently push the massive form of the Kodian out of the way, perhaps to little effect. "Just go to the main treatment area and take a seat on one of the beds." She added. "They should be rated to support your weight."

"FRAK" Nanook yeelped as his head shot up, upending the rolling stand that had held the instrument tray to begin with. He gripped the back of his head with one paw, holding the other up in front of him, a scalple embedded between two of his claws. "THRICE DAMNED, NO GOOD, DIRTY, ROCK DWELLING CUB OF A VEGETARIAN!" He growled as he went to pull the scalpel from his hand.

"Oh, try to duc-" Chiasa called out, just before the rolling stand was upended by Nanook's hefty ursine mass! A grimace came over the tiny Nekovalkyrja's features when she saw the scalpel embedded between two of the Kodian's claws, her ears twitching as they the string of curses that came as a result!

"No, don't pull it out! It'll just bleed more!" Chiasa warned. "Here, let's take this one step at a time. Take a deep breath and try to walk towards a bed, carefully. I'll take care of getting stuff out of the way." She added, before following her own advice by taking a deep breath of her own.

"Okay, just follow me. Slowly. Watch your step. Take stock of your surroundings." Chiasa finished.

Nanook stood, slowly, being careful not to step on any of the other instruments on the floor. The blood began to well up around the scalpel and leave little drops of crimson on the deck as Nanook followed Chiasa towards the main treatment area. His hand pulsed in pain, he had to do something. He glanced at Chiasa to make sure she wasn't looking, then clamped his jaws down on the handle of the scalpel, deforming the metal with his fangs, and tore it from his paw with a sharp jerk of his head. A bright red jet of arterial spray eminated from the now much more open wound.

"Oh, that. That's not good." He growled around the bloodly tool clenched in his teeth.

Chiasa didn't see the Kodian clamp his jaws around the scalpel, but her furred Nekovalkyrja ears allowed her to hear him do it.

"Nanook-" The tiny Nekovalkyrja turned around, only to be met with a jet of arterial blood spraying her in the face and across her bodysuit! She reflexively closed her eyes as it happened, but even without opening them she sensed that it was a lot of blood, perhaps a bit more than she was comfortable with.

"Okay uhh...I'll have Poppy and Vec clean up the tools. Just get onto a bed and I'll be with you in a minute." The pharmacy specialist said, still trying her best to stay calm as her digital mind quickly took stock of the situation. In doing so, she flashed Poppy and Vec a message regarding the mess in the main treatment area, before guiding Nanook onto a bed.

Nanook nodded to her and made a quick decision. His hand was bleeding, he needed to staunch that somehow. Use your head, Use Your head. That was it! He Stuck his paw in his mouth and made to plug the wound with his tongue as Chiasa guided him towards a bed. Much to his dismay, he was only rewarded with a mouth full of blood and a coppery taste in his mouth as he sat on the bed. He looked up to try and guage how the poor medic was feeling at the moment, blood starting to drip from the corners of his mouth.

In spite of the fact that she was covered in blood, Chiasa fell into a smooth rhythm as she worked to set up an IV, filled with painkiller, mild sedative, and specialized hemosynth formulated for Kodian biochemistry, the latter of which she had made herself in preparation for the humanitarian mission to Gashmere. In spite of Nanook's dense, thick fur, Chiasa quickly found a vein along his lower arm and swiftly inserted a needle into it.

Nanook saw the needle Chiasa was using and immediately tensed up. His eyes narrowed...."Wath ith tat fffor....?" Nanook tried to ask around his hemoraging paw, leaning away from the small medic.

"To get any fluids you need into your system." Chiasa explained, a soft smile coming over her features. "It's already in, so just...relax." The tiny Nekovalkyrja added.

Nanooks eyes widened and his ears flattened against his head in terror as he looked down and realized she had already placed the IV line. "OH THITHH" He murmered as he passed out and plopped backwards onto the bed. The paw dropping out of his mouth, in a wash of blood.

Chiasa's eyes widened when the Kodian passed out, out of fear that she had gotten the dosage calculations wrong. She quickly checked them again via her digital mind, but it was only then that she realized that it wasn't the dosage that had made her patient pass out, but his fear of needles.

Regardless, it at least afforded her the opportunity to get the situation somewhat under control.

The tiny Nekovalkyrja set to work with stopping the bleeding on her patient's paws with gauze infused with a hemostatic agent, designed to promote blood clotting. Then, came the next step—shaving his fur.

By the time Nanook woke up, he would find both of his paws shaven clean, as the tiny pharmacy specialist worked to flush his wounds with a pressurized saline solution!

Nanook's eyelids fluttered open as he glanced up at a medical illumination array....where was he. He brought his paw up to rub his head, it was sore for some reason. Wait. Wait. That, that isn't my paw.....it's as bare as a new born cub. He quickly raised his other paw, with much the same results. It came flooding back to him. The wounds on both paws had been cleaned, and the scalpel wound was mostly clotted, only weeping tiny drops of blood.

His ears flattened against his scalp in shame. She had shaved the fur from his paws. The paws that had dispatched more than a score of worthy advesaries in his time in the defense force on Gashmere. He quietly closed his eyes, things were different here. She was doing her job and trying to care for him. There was no shame to be had. Deep breaths.

"I can't believe you pushed that....thing....inside me with out even asking. You could have at least offered me a fish." He hoped his attempt at humor might bring about some levity.

Chiasa had been so engrossed in her work that she had failed to notice her patient waking up, his booming voice nearly causing her to jump as it registered in her awareness. Nevertheless, upon hearing his playful joke, the tiny Nekovalkyrja offered an awkward laugh, if only to try and set herself and Nanook back at ease.

"Sorry for shaving your paws. It was a lot of blood." Chiasa answered. "I still have work to do, but I think the hard part is over, for now." She added, before setting to the task of cleaning and disinfecting the wounds with antiseptic solution, now that they were flushed of debris.

"You seem to be really good with your hands. Is it supposed to be getting harder to breath?" Nanook growled as he started coughing, each fit seemed to wrack his body, his paw went to his throat in distress.

Chiasa's gaze went wide with bewilderment and she instinctively pulled out her medical scanner, before turning to get her CMO's attention!

His coughing devolved into laughter, "HA! You can't kill me that easily little one!"

Just as she was about to call for Vec, Chiasa heard laughter coming from her patient, at which point she turned back around with her hands set on her hips as an expression of light-hearted exasperation came over her pinkish-tan features.

"Really?" She began, as a smile tugged at the corners of her mouth. "Darn it. I guess I'll just have to use more for next time." The tiny Nekovalkyrja quipped back. "Clearly, you're much bigger than I thought under all that fur!" She added, a giggle escaping from her lips as she did.

Nanook adopted a somber and serious tone, "Next time? I've never had a second date before....". He sat back a moment to contemplate that statement. Had he phrased it correctly? Would there be some cultural misunderstanding? He would have to wait and find out. He watched the Nekovalkyrja curiously, waiting for her response.

Chiasa features went blank.

Even with her digital mind, it took the tiny Nekovalkyrja a moment to formulate an answer, as she didn't quite know what to say in response. She offered a brief smile, before her gaze flickered down towards Nanook's wounds, then back up to his dark eyes.

"A second date?" Chiasa gulped. "I'm not sure I'd consider this a date. More an...engagement?" She continued, her pitch rising in question. "How about I just finish taking care of these wounds and umm...I guess we can talk. I want to have you ready in time for the away mission, after all." The tiny Nekovalkyrja finished as a soft smile came over her features.

There was a whistle as Nanook took a huge breath at the word engagement. He fumbled with his thoughts for a moment.

"You...you honor me with the request. I have no doubt you would be an excellent mate for a lucky being somewhere, but I do not believe I am ready for that level of commitment little one. I......I just meant I had never had to see the same medic twice for my wounds. Take heart though, we can be friends!" He hoped he had not hurt her feelings.

"Oh! Well, I admit that's easier." Chiasa added with an awkward laugh, her features taking on a slightly crimson undertone. "Let's be honest, it would have been a tight fit anyways." She quipped, before covering her mouth to hold back another bout of laughter!

Nanooks head tilted fourty five degrees to the right, "I...I don't understand. What would be a tight fit?" He asked curiously, his eyes blinking in wonder.

Chiasa made fake noise, mimicking a clearance of her throat.

"Oh, nothing."

Nanook carefully, gingerly even, made his way out of the med bay. He had no desire to be poked and prodded more than had already occurred. The conversation with Chiasa weighed heavily on his mind as he traversed the ship towards his bunk space. What had she meant by her words, was she calling him fat? Making fun of his size? He glanced down and gingerly poked about his midsection with his now bare paw. Of course, there was some fatty tissue there, but that was any Kodian. He was in great shape! Perhaps he had insulted her or wounded her pride deeply by turning down her engagement proposal....that was a strong possibility. He would have to find a way to make it up to her. He found his bunk, keying the door open he entered.

Fishing around in his gear bags, he found a pair of gloves to cover his hands. He was going to be wearing gloves for a while. As he did so he tried to formulate a course of action. He had no knowledge of the relationship dynamics and customs common among the Nekos. It was definitely something he should seek out advice on. The question was who could he turn to for such a delicate matter. Vec? No, He was too close to Chiasa, and that may cause more tension. The captain shouldn't be bothered with such things. Who then, it came to him, Kawa Euikoshi! She had seemed to be one who was fluent in such things.

Making sure the gloves fully covered his bare paws, he set out to the science lab for the second time this day, once again on a grave matter of great import. He made a short journey of it, the entry hatch slid aside as he approached. He quickly found Euikoshis form hovering over an experiment of some sort. He politely cleared his throat. "Excuse me Heisho Euikosi, may I have a moment of your time?"

Euikoshi was carefully packing away Iemochi's experiments so they would be ready and waiting when he returned after whatever questions the MPs had for him. He was always involved in so many things that she figured he'd somehow got into something out-of-bounds. But science was all about pushing boundaries, she thought to herself. When Nanook appear, she couldn't miss his large figure appearing on the ship's uppermost deck. "Good morning," she greeted him. She was used to the crew asking her things as she knew a great many facts about a great many things. "What can I help you with?"

Nanook took a moment to gather his thoughts. "I fear that I have made a grave mistake and insulted Hei Chiasa by rebuffing an offer of marriage. I do not know your customs, but I wish to heal any wound that may have opened as a result of my actions. What can I do to make it up to her?" He looked to Euikoshi, his big brown eyes pleading for an acceptable solution to this quandary he found himself in.

YSS Resurgence
Medical Center

Not long after she finished treating Nanook, Chiasa committed herself to the task of cleaning up the mess in the Medical Center. Between now and the arrival to Gashmere, she had a lot of work to do in preparing for what could very well be a humanitarian crisis. There was also the matter of altering the formulations in the hemosynth banks to better fit Kodian biochemistry, but she could let that process run in the background while she attended to matters that demanded her direct attention.

Unfortunately, that would leave her no time to change out of her blood-stained bodysuit by the time Vec came in for his shift.

Nevertheless, Chiasa couldn’t let the task go undone. For those fallen medical tools, she could no longer consider them sterile. Accordingly, the tiny Nekovalkyrja worked to clean, disinfect, and sterilize them in that order.

Hopefully, the Medical Center wouldn’t look like a giant bear had run through it by the time her commanding officer came back!

Detainment Cabin

Sanda nodded to Pidole and opened the door. After Mochi entered, Sanda closed and clocked the door. She called the Captain. "Captain Aoba. This is Hoshi-Hei. Shosa Inmochi is secured in the makeshift brig. The Shosa has been very cooperative. He has requested to see the warrant for his detainment and his dress uniform. I believe that someone must stay on duty to guard the... Detainee." Sanda couldn't bring herself to say prisoner. "I will remain on guard until someone relieves me."
