Art Shameless Art Gallery Show off Thread. (Aka, SAGSOT!!!)

SAGSOT sounds like some kind of eldrith monster (Sagg'Sot)!

Anyway, this is for those who might be interested in seeing some of the art I draw!

Since I like drawing bugs so much, I thought Furaffinity would be a good choice (plus I have friends there): http://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/waspgirl/
My only mistake was forgetting that the only art Furries tend to like is inflation fetish porn. Oh, well!

If you take a look, you can probably get a good idea of my more common themes from my artwork involving Lissie, the little wasp. She's a cute, cartoon character floundering in a desolate, decrepit world of financial and environmental collapse, where all other species of insect have died off, leaving her as the sole remaining bug on the planet.
Please give me feedback, tell me what you like and what you don't like, etc! I really enjoy seeing more than just an up-vote in response to my submissions.

That setting actually sounds strangely close to how some Yamataian cities are set up, Tsubomi specifically. It's all grass and trees up top, with all of the roads and parking garages underground in a massive sprawl.

While I was laying in bed last night, I was having a good think about I'ee guns. Specifically, the ergonomics and appearance of the weapons with regards to the I'ee's alien physiology. They don't have thumbs, so a pistol grip would be difficult to keep secure in their grasp. They don't have shoulders, so a butt stock won't really work well. They have compound eyes, so they can't use scopes or iron-sights, or probably aim that well at all, really.

I'ee Gun.webp
This is a design I thought up fairly quickly. It's about the size of an SMG or PDW. While it has a pistol grip of sorts, it's not meant to be held like one: I'ee have two claws and a suction-cup-esque pad on their little feets. On both sides of the main grip, where the trigger is, there are ovoid grips designed for that pad to grasp, while the two claws curl around the handle. The trigger is ring-shaped, along with the carry handle on top, again for their claws. The bolt has a large racking handle too, for easy gripping.
Overall, it's meant to function like a high-capacity SMG that can fire rapidly from the 'hip', so to speak, which fortunately shouldn't be an issue even though the I'ee don't have hips either. So much for wasp-waisted. :b

I showed these off a while ago in chat, but forgot to upload them here!
Here is my first attempt at a chibi: It's a more human-looking and adorable Gut-Stripe:

And here is my drawing of Gut-Stripe in all her waspy glory:

Truly adorable. And finally, here is wasp burrito, because it is always relevant:

Been a while since I last updated this thread. I did some very belated additions to my characters' history sections that I should have done a long time ago. :P
Besides that, I've been musing on new I'ee ships. As it is, the I'ee have very few dedicated fighting ships, and their largest craft is nothing more than an armoured cargo ship with some guns. It's kind of been my aim to have a very stunted fleet for the I'ee with little in the way of specialisation, and more a group of core ships that try to fill multiple roles at once. All the same, I've had an interest in designing some new ships for them, though when/if I'll use these designs is yet to be seen.
IeeShieldFrigate.webp IeeShieldFrigate2.webp
This is an I'ee Shield Frigate. The I'ee fleet has no proper defensive energy shields, besides low power plasma fields to protect against micro-debris. This ship is meant to function like the defence field frigates from the Homeworld games; projecting a large defensive field that encompasses both it and nearby allied ships. It protects from outside enemy fire, but cannot stop enemies from simply moving within its protective screen to fight at point-blank range.

Initially, instead of being a support craft, I was thinking of making it a fighting ship in its own right: Being an awkwardly bulky experimental ship with an oversized shield generator and some little guns on either side.

I finally did some drawing in Krita that I felt good enough about to show here.
aliengirl.webp
She is a synthetic cyborg creature, maybe created by the same aliens whose old ships litter some parts of the I'ee debris fields; I used some of their design themes on her head, namely the flap-like plates and antenna-like spines on her head. Perhaps she'd be an ambassador of sorts to the I'ee. Who knows! She's meant to be fairly short: Maybe below four feet, but that's all up in the air unless I decide to finalise it.

I couldn't really decide on how I wanted her legs to look, and it was hard to make them look just right, since I hadn't used my usual process of drawing a 'skeleton' prior to sketching. It helps with making limbs look less wonky. I dunno: Krita has some significant benefits for drawing when compared to Photoshop, but I find it hard somehow to apply my usual techniques with it.

Also depicted to the right is my incapacity to draw something at a different angle. I wanted to do a bottom-up view of her head to show her little mouth, but the whole concept of perspective is as cosmic and terrifying as a lovecraftian nightmare atm. xwx.
I also wanted to give her 'costume' a bit of a Flatwoods Monster vibe to it, with the metal 'dress' and headdress framing her head from behind. It's something I drew inspiration from for my character Quetri too:
Quetri.webp

I did a little more Doga work: Since the I'ee will be one of the nations in the planned revival of the Elithian Alliance RP, I figured I'd do some redesigned ships for them rather than being lazy and just reusing the ones I made for SARP.
Iee_patrolcraft_EA.webp
I've decided to go with the older, dirtier I'ee aesthetic, since I abandoned that look without giving it enough 'screen-time' as it were. Here's a modified I'ee patrol craft, with some extra turret mounts.
IeeFighter.webp
And here's the old, prototype I'ee fighter with a dirtier coat of paint and some extra engines. I'm actually going to use it this time. Have pity on the pilots!

On another note, I've also been pondering what an I'ee powered suit would look like. I'd recently been playing a lot of Brigador lately, and that game has a lot of neat designs for tanks, mechs and suits. I based this design a little off of the Corvid 'Coffin' suit from that game.
IeePoweredArmour.webp
I don't draw mechanical things by hand that often, so please bear with the terrible squiggles. The two crew members are cramped into the downward hanging part near the back of the chassis. Weapon mounts would be above and below the front end, with additional smaller mounts on the two arms. As for that ugly, human set of teeth and gums? The I'ee respond very strongly to psychological warfare, and with the more cynical families resigned to the inevitability of armed warfare against far more powerful, humanoid aliens, are trying to design weapons to strike fear into the hearts of humanoids.
Thus, the suit has a large, tough cathode ray tube monitor set into the front of its chassis, playing detailed, up-close recordings of snarling, gnashing humanoid teeth. At the very least, it gives the suit some character.

I did a little bit of art today. Not too proud of how it looks, but the idea was cute and it's the thought that counts.
IeeCuddlingJahuvinoid.webp
Lately I've begun playing the I'ee Families as a nation in the Elithian Alliance rp at https://www.reddit.com/r/Elithia/ and one of the other nations are the Jahuvinoids: Adorable, 1-2 foot tall, spherical robots. They're obviously the perfect friend for an I'ee, so I drew this picture of professional, diplomatic proceedings between the two factions.

Here's a potential design for an I'ee battleship. Please give me feedback on this, as I want to make sure it's not as horrifically ugly as I think it is before I bother writing up an article on it. I might end up doing some alternative designs in any case. Love you guys <3

I like the 'parts on a frame' look of the ship. Though I think you should try making your own missile launchers instead of using the base DOGA ones.

Been a while since I last posted anything here. Finally doing art on a regular basis again. Here's something I made in the last week.
PersephoneSepia.webp
It's based off those sepia, sprite-art intro slides used in Undertale. The girl is my head-canon of the human with the purple-coloured soul. I call her Persephone. :b
